Americans are not inherently more violent than Canucks, there's just more of us and we live closer to each other. |

Indeed, but you don't see that very often up here. In Quebec, there is about 100 homicides per year for 7.5 millions inhabitants (most of them in Montreal). That's a rate of about 1.33 homicide per 100,000 people. In the US, the rate is about 5.7 homicide per 100,000 people (taken from here, 2006 statistic). The homicide rate is more than 4 times higher in the US. In my book, it means Americans are more violent. |

The part in bold is irrelevant. Fact: 90% of Canadians live very close to the US border. We are as close to each other than you are. |

Your statistics are only an average, which is statistically inapplicable to the highly varied population in the US. Remember, homicide rates among black-, white-, native-, Asian-, and Latin- Americans are drastically different. |

Oh, and of course there would be no interest in anything but a neutral analysis by "Marivel Davila said. Davila is a graduate student at the UT School of Public Health and a quantitative research analyst at the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio" Come on, this is the silliest most biased study I have ever read about. |
