I broke my arm today mountain biking. It was pretty sweet :P I even got it on video! Although, it is awkwardly tilted :P http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=146RwCFjhmA I post this so you all know why many of my posts the next couple days will be slower made and likely have a few errors. |

Yes, I'm fine. I sort of landed on my head, but the helmet took care of that extremely well. My arm HURTS With even the slightest motion, though. |

Oh, I'm not happy about it. I realize I was a dumbass here. I rode these trails a few days ago, and the friends I was riding with all did the jump, and urged me to. I didn't. So, I went to the trails again with a new buddy today, and told him about it. I asked if he wanted to do it. He suggested I go first. I asked if he'd do it if I did it. He said he'd "maybe attempt" it. So I hit it at 20 mph, and ate total shit. I guess when you're into the sport like I am, you get used to injuries. Each increasingly worse one is seen sort of as a story to tell, even though injuries are avoided. It's a paradox in most extreme sports :P |

My friend has recently taken up mountain biking and the first time he went he beat himself up pretty bad...Tore up knees and elbows. Said he had quite a few close calls with trees and such  Even though I laughed when he was telling me this I still thought that it must be pretty badass to put yourself out like that...I hope you heal soon... |

Ugh, broken elbow. That has to hurt. On a lighter note, it does sould like one of Filo's characters, "Chief Broken Elbow"! Worst mountain biking accident I've ever seen was when a friend wiped out into some strange bush which had these huge stickers on it. The damn branch tore under his skin in his lower arm and drove all the way up to his shoulder. The branch itself was imbedded, along with five or six of these huge stickers making it impossible to pull out. He needed surgery to get all that lumber out of there! Word of advise, do not make, or take dares. |

You only live once I say. Besides, the way I figure it... its not fun or extreme until theres scars, blood, or broken bones. I've had my fair share iof them all. Also, I can hear you think "Oh F*CK!" right before you hit the dirt. Epic face plant. 10/10. |

I didn't think I grew wisdom teeth... but I went for my first dental checkup in twelve years last week... and apparently I've got two. |

Yeah, they can sneek up on ya when you least expect it. I believe I was in my 30's when they finally had to come out (they were cutting through and getting very infected). I remember the doctor saying "breath normally and count backwards from 100" so I started, "100, 99, 98, 97, 96 . . . . . 72, 71, 70" finally, I looked toward the doctor and said, "well, when am I going to pass out?" He said, "Oh, you did, at 98, we are done!" Totally blew my mind. Also, Nag? First dental exam in 12 years?? I know you Brits are (or were) notorious for not taking care of your teeth, but 12 years??? That is . . . . rediculous, and sad. Every year (used to be every six months). I strongly suggest that, because you only get two sets of teeth, and you've already shed your first. |

We have to pay for dental care in the UK. Granted we're a lot less stingy as a nation about our teeth now... but I'm not spending $40 every six months for some over-paid wanna-be-doctor to tell me my teeth are fine. I only went two weeks ago because I thought I had a cavity (I was flossing and pulled out a hard lump of white stuff leaving a hole in my mouth - turns out it was a lump of tartar and I'm supposed to have gaps between my bottom teeth (who knew?)... anyhoo my teeth got a thorough cleaning). Other than that, despite 21 years of full sugar soft drinks and sweets and I've not even got a single cavity. But yeah... I'm thinking of going again in two years. Also the Dentist scares me. |

Oh, just you wait till that first filling, especially when he's probing the hole with that little pointy thing, and hits the nerve. Maybe you'll have a joker like the guy I had back in Crystal Lake - he started probing, and said, "Is it safe?" I grabbed his hand and almost drove the tool through him! |
