Sagen was a boarder city. Ethnically diverse. Full of culture. For those travelling to Nag Ehgoeg by land, it was their first impression of the entire country – and some effort had been made to make it an accurate representation. Some effort. Under the rule of Archimedes, however, a lot more effort had been put into national security. ~Which was just as well~ Demetrius thought as he and Jinalei touched down on the top of one of the dozens of military bases dotted throughout the city. Nagian “culture” was not of great interest to the Scythirians. The Malfisto family had dwelled in this land since 300 BC – the Emmanulas family even longer – but Demetrius didn’t consider Nag Ehgoeg as “Middle Eastern” unless using the definition that would gain them allies in war. Demetrius and Jinalei touched down on the base’s helipad and a phalanx of armed guards rushed out to meet them. One of the guards carried a small machine: Demetrius allowed the chip in his left hand to be scanned and the guards escorted them into the base. The efficiency of the Beast Chip coupled with the benefits of rank meant no lengthy passport process. Pyragy could be trusted to file a report while Demetrius and Jinalei ate. The base had a clinical almost oppressive feel: the metal halls bare of decoration. As the dinner party and their armed escort led them into the base, staff that crossed their path scurried out of the way and snapped to attention. The officer’s mess had been cleared out and “prettied up” for their arrival and a banquet of food imported from Sagen’s finest hotels and restaurants for an authentic Middle Eastern taste. The guards filed out, leaving them alone to eat. “European colonialism has left a sour taste in my mouth. But I hope that this,” Demetrius gestured at the meal and pulled out a seat offering it to Jinalei, “Will remove that taste. While the Europeans prattle their case to those who’ll listen, perhaps we could discuss more pleasing topics – like how the Dominion will send them scurrying home.” Edited by Nag Ehgoeg, Jul 27 2008, 09:42 AM.

"Quite right," Jinalei Hikaal said with a predatory smile as she sat down in the offered seat. "According to the phone call I had with my father on the way here, he will already start discussing the plans with my uncle, the God-Emperor. Following that, he will bring it before Gassel and the rest of the Council." A small chuckle escaped her at the thoughts of what will come when the Dominion moves against the colonists. |

The night went well. Jinalei took great pleasure in making Demetrius jump through hoops. And Demetrius dutifully jumped. And so to went the next meeting between the pair in Zapht. And the next meeting. And the next meeting. The meeting at which the two were wed. Archimedes was happy with the match. Jinalei was happy to find a man of authority whom she could control. And the Scythirians were happy to have a new bloodline founded. As for Demetrius? No-one asked. **** The first child came quickly, and was named Farhang - meaning "Good-breeding", after Farhang Malfisto of antiquity. Next came Amlonai, so named for the most beloved Scythiran to ever grace Nag Ehgoeg after the fall of DnS. Had she not been a girl, Archimedes would have been satisfied. So lastly came Dahar, named after the Scythirian Emperor who industrialised Scythirus. Edited by Nag Ehgoeg, Jul 18 2009, 04:08 PM.
