Now that I am working hard at maintaining my BP and glucose levels I am taking walks during lunch. Today I found a path behind our office building which travels about a half-mile through a wooded area, then an area bordered by woods on one side and a swampy pond area on the other. As I walked along today, I observed the following:

First, I noticed a lot of these:

and saw a whole bunch of these:

As I moved further in, I found:

until I came on a field of:

Any suggestions on what I should do with these currently immature plants??

You have wild marijuana? Only in Ann Arbor, I suppose.

Actually, wild "hemp" grows all over the midwest from Ohio to Illinois. During WWI and at the beginning of WWII (before the invention of nylon) many, many fields around here were converted to "hemp" production for the war effort. As a result there are still wild plants found all the time. You can't drive down a back-road in Indiana without spotting some wild growth.

This particular stand of "hemp" is probably NOT wild. My guess is it may have been a place for local kids to party, and they might have just scattered their seeds as they cleaned them out, or it might actually be a secret garden, tho I see no sign of cultivation, so my first theory is more likely correct. The exact nature and source will depend more on the "quality" of the plant at maturity. If it's crappy, it is probably wild hemp. If it is of middle quality it is probably discarded seeds from home grown. Highly cultivated quality "hemp" tends to be hybred, and therefore infurtile, so that is very, very unlikely.

Make a crude map to the site, drop it in a public place. Wait for it to be retrieved, follow the person who picks up the map. Using a video camera, film their entry to the region laden with marijuana, then jump out in your fake DEA jacket and demand annual tribute from them in return for your silence.
