OOC: I never got solid/reasonable responses from our PM convo that I can use IC so I've been holding off. Anyway... IC: The Ulganian advance was slow, but succeeding. In the city, and increasingly outlying areas of Megakaka the two armies kept pushing back and forth. Artillery fire for either side was intense, but mostly ineffective due to the large amount of CQC. However, while the Menhadians were brave warriors, and acted fearless in battle the skills and numbers of Ulganians were slowly overcoming them. Fighting increasingly took place out of the city as regiment after regiment pushed out of its boundaries whilst flanking the Menhad forces. Aerial combat ensued as intensely as ever, with neither side willing to give up the air. Doing so would ensure victory, but attaining it would have to be a victory in itself. Both air forces were being taxed, while F-22s and Ulganian birds battled one another for hours, until either being shot down, damaged, or in need of refueling/rearming. Ulganian SAM sites were being increasingly moved to not only make life harder on Menhad artillery, but to gain new vantage points to fire into the skies. While Menhad’s army in the area was being encircled and cutdown by the hour, a new problem arose for the nearly cutoff forces: supplies. In a matter of days tanks would start running out of fuel, ammunition stocks would dwindle, and soon a path of retreat would disappear. While they fought on, going virtually casualty-for-casualty with Ulganian forces, the all-out superior numbers were overcoming them. Ulgania’s navy was on the verge of being trapped. While a good number of ships had already limped back to port and were being repaired and preparing to return and fight, it wouldn’t matter if they were defeated. Admiral Mustang made the decision to make the fleet break off the offensive, and fall back and prepare to withdraw if needed in the waters between Africa and French Madagascar. Doing so would allow further fighting to continue as Cruisers and Frigates still pounded away at Menhad’s capital ships, and Destroyers kept the focus on Aircraft Carriers. --- Secret Transmission to Morrocon Fleet engaging Menhad navy: The tactical retreat the Ulganian fleet is facing at the moment may leave your warships in even more extremely vulnerable circumstances. I ask that you break off and continue your engagement in waters more suitable for your numbers. Edited by Ulgania, Jun 25 2008, 04:27 PM.

As the Ulganians continued in their close quarters combat, the Zeelarans scrambled for whatever transport aircraft were not in service. There were a total of fifteen unused C-1 Trader class aircraft that were immediately prepped for service. Fresh troops were loaded aboard, now given the regular weapons that were designed to fight a close quarters war. These planes were immediately scrambled, understanding that time was of the essence if they were to go together and meet no resistance. With such a strong battle in the air, there would be no ability for either side to intercept or protect them. Therefore, they would most likely have been forgotten about as they flew over the city. With each pass, the troops began their fateful descent, parachuting out of the craft as they sped away with their cargo unleashed. Reinforcements literally fell from the sky all around the Ulganian troops - hitting the ground running, so to speak. It was decided, however, to let them fight it out and not risk another run for fear of being shot down. Rather, light helicopters from Zeelar's collection provided support and mobility. These also added a few more soldiers to the fray, though it was dangerous business considering the light armor - it paid well, but one wasn't to find an old, dumb pilot of the 'Hermit' class. |

HIGHLY ENCRYPTED TRANSMISSION TO: Admiral Mustang FROM: Admiral Miroelt Ahonihonu, commander of the Western Navy Advise taken, Eastern and Western Navies will redeploy north-northwest of the current position. This will block an escape route back to their native waters of the Middle East. We will continue our aerial barrages in concert with yours on Menhadian positions in Africa. END OF HIGHLY ENCRYPTED TRANSMISSION Fighting in the north had intensified over the course of the past few weeks. The Farmers' Militia and Menhadian regulars were putting up a fight, but the numbers wouldn't lie to them for long. The Morroconians had worked tirelessly for the capitulation of Wajir, but to no avail. Morroconian legions were then dispatched to Mado Gashi...the Morroconians were outflanking the already finely strecthed lines of the Menhadian Militia and Regular ranks. Time could only tell if this maneuver would work. ------------- -Office of Strategic Services, Field Command-Northern Menhad As the regulars did their part, the Morroconians were secretly sowing the seeds for future discord. Ulgania had began overtures of a peace settlement between the Serpentine Pact and Menhad. Prime Minister Barack Obama wanted all colonies out of Africa. Upon the recommendation of his ministers, he would eventually accept the peace package offered by Ulgania...that however, was a front for something far more sinister. The OSS had begun guerrilla training and supply of Swahili radicals in Menhad. The Black Panthers. These black Op cells were to be activated the moment the peace deal was done. |

Ulganian soldiers moved out of Megakaka and pushed towards the coast. Menhad’s line from the city had faltered from Ulganian numbers, and what was left was being taken care of while a large portion of the army started the push west. Militias still posed threats, but the war machine would begin to knock out Menhad ports if it wasn’t for action of a different sort. - ATTN: Menhad High Command: This war has been taxing on both of our nations. While we did fire the first shot, it was from a contract alliance with other nations. We feel that it is within our region’s best interests to end this bloodshed. Casualties have been mounting up on either side, and for fighting to continue, while the allied forces in you country may be capable of certain victory, the price paid would too costly. Please, accept a cease-fire, and let hostilities cease. -Prime Minister Vincent Drakus OOC: Faster this ends, the faster I can get some epic sh*t I've been writing posted Edited by Ulgania, Jun 26 2008, 08:20 PM.

With the retreat of the Ulganian navy, the Menhadien ships could now launch strike against targets on land. Also nearly 100 ships made their way to help the other Menhadien fleet. The Sea was Menhad's. Fighters that where engaging naval targets could now be shifted to fight the enemy on land, near 100 more fighters entered the fray. ______________________________________________________________________________________ The trapped Menhadien soldier were fighting like devils, even though they where low on ammo, low on food and vastly outnumbered. Artillery provide fire support, fighters launched strikes against enemy forces, attack helicopters provided cover, these men would break out. Menhad would not make the same mistake that the Germans did at Stalingrad. ______________________________________________________________________________________ Secure Line #83467-29657-29597-29385-345-2352-11-3-12436 To: Ulganian Command From: Menhadien High Command We will only have a cease fire if the terms are favorable to us, we will not have a treaty like the treaty of Versailles. Right now our out come looks bleak, but with the defeat of Al Qalaa soon to come, we can focus our full military attention to the war in Africa. We can discuss peace, but only a peace that Menhad can agree on. |

To: Menhad High Command From: The Ulganian Chancellery We have no intention of creating a situation that puts you in a limiting position. The only term we wish to agree on is that a counter-attack on Ulganian lands will not be permitted. We will aid in reconstruction efforts in the southern areas of the country, as well as allow NGOs to deliver aid wherever requested. This will be done on the condition that the Menhad military does not hold, hurt, or kill them. To reiterate, the only conditions that we will negotiate are ones that will keep Ulgania safe and Menhad strong. |

To: Menhad High Command From: Ulganian Chancellery Ulgania cannot control the actions of sovereign states, but as Morrocon followed us into the Serpentine Pact and, of course with Zeelar, into this war we hope that an agreement can be made concerning their a peac with them. Soldiers will pull back immediately, and naval forces will return to battle-group formations, and their respective Areas of Responsibilities. Menhad naval forces should note that due to the fact these forces were just at war a heightened state of readiness will remain for some time. The state of readiness should not be viewed as a threat, but as a precaution in case of reoccurance of attack while in International Waters. |

We would like to remind the Ulganian Chancellery that a cease-fire with Menhad may be very much looked down upon by both the Serpentine pact and the Combine. Al Qalaa has contributed much effort to maintaining and spreading the Serpentine pact as have you and I. Being one of the Original founders Ulgania's first priority should be to protect those brothers of the pact while your personal convictions should be a second priority. Should Al Qalaa fall much weight and blame shall fall upon the shoulders of Ulgania and repurcussions may become a factor. -The Red Eagle of Ukabanea, Emperor Titus Alexander |

Helicopters and hands assisted equally in the clean up of the wreckage of the battles that had taken place. Zeelar had already returned all of the prisoners that were being held, and were now taking the material remains of the war in its place. The wreckage was being moved to both train and vessel where it would be moved to the Zeelaran homeland, and far from the memories of those that lived in Menhad. Marshall Meche released a statement, later that day, that he would accept a cessation of hostilities that would not be an unconditional surrender, but rather an agreement that Menhad could fully agree to and end the conflict. Furthermore, it provisioned and demanded that there would be a formal treaty soon drafted. |

With the Ulgainians gone and Zeelar following suit, now all that was left were the Morroconians, they had not yet answered the Menhadien call for peace, and their soldiers remained on Menhadien soil. The Menhadien forces massed, just out of range of the Morroconians. If they didn't leave, then they would leave in body bags. |

It had been sometime since Prime Minister Obama had delivered a speech condemning colonialism and quite a while since the end of hostilities between Morrocon and Menhad. Morroconian legionaries had long since relinquished control of northern Menhad back to the Menhadiens, but the Swahili menace was now loosed. Prime Minister Obama had ordered the Ministry to spend hundreds of millions of birr training and equipping Swahili radicals known to be known to the world as the Black Panthers. (br916 billion to be exact) With the OSS and Prime Minister Obama calling the shots the plan was simple, inflict as many casualties against the Menhadiens and present the violence to the world as proof that colonies in Africa should be closed down. It would all begin when a massive car bomb went off in Wajir, the Menhadiens were now obligated to investigate this secretive group that now claimed full responsibility. OOC: This is going to be the catalyst the Dominion needs to get Morrocon to join. Menhad has a time with the terrorists, then when the world and Menhad is ready; Cronus will basically rat out Obama providing definitive proof of his direct involvement in these terrorist attacks. A war erupts, Menhad beats Morrocon; the peace...a new Prime Minister joins the Dominion. All of course, on the down low. |
