Thought I'd pass it around as I want to justify spending almost a week working on this project for someone, and get some general opinions about it.

See it here.

What do you guys think for being made from just a small sketch?

I like the texture: nice and wispy. I also like the eye.

If I could change onr thing, however it would be the Great Red Spot, like Jupiter's. It looks kinda like a smudge.

And that opinion comes from someone who knows absolutely nothing about drawring or graphic-stuff.

It was supposed to be a flame, but kind of got messed up in all of the filtering and such.

I could have blurred it out totally, but didn't. Dunno why.

Looks interesting. Looks like it can be interpreted in many ways.

Looks a lot like a fractal, which is pretty amazing for freestyle!

Eh.

Digital images - while they take a lot of skill, skill that I don't have (patience to) - strike me as generally being kinda soulless and dull. They've really gotta be of something, or mean something, for me to enjoy them.

Now what you've done is very pretty and no doubt showcases some mad skills. But what exactly do you expect us to say? You drew a swirl. Woohoo.

Woohoo

But seriously, I can dig it. In fact, I might even use it for my desktop background for a few days. I'm always looking for new wallpapers.

More or less, I made this out of boredom. But this is a first for me as I actually sketched it out before I went to work on it in Photoshop.

Usually I would throw some renders together, add some filters, and call it a day. In this case, I did everything myself. No renders, nothing prefab.

I didn't even understand what half of that meant.

Certainly your picture is not impressive. It is certainly something not like the Great Pyramids before which the visitor/viewer falls upon his knees, feeling at once the emotions of awe, terror, admiration, and wonder.

Nonetheless, your picture is thought provoking. I for one contemplated it more than just in passing. This picture reminds me of such things as: pulsar, astronomical phenomena, human circulation, fiberoptic communication, singularity.

If you keep working on your skills you may very well develop your talent in art and design into something truly impressive.

To add, a friend of mine had this to say.

"It feels like it's going to suck the soul right out of me."

To which I say:

"Then I've accomplished my goal."

That's kind of what I'm aiming for. But I know also that I'm not the best, but I don't do stuff like this to complete most of the time. I do it for the hell of it.

And as such, Tristan's words make me feel as if I've achieved something. ^_^
