Alright I have a question that just popped into my head.

I have been drinking since about 10PM to try and drown out the horrrible baseball and horrible country music they placed to the fireworks show. I have also been writing an upcoming series of shorts I have for our public access television station I work at.

I am just now watching the clock pass 6am, and I am still drinking. I know I will be for at least another hour, or until I finish the script for the first episode.

So I ask you,

Too early or too late for me to still be drinking.

And no NH I do not have a problem, I leave that to CE and AA. I also have the lowest BAC of our entire writing staff.

I abstained. Though, by 6am I am too fucked to drink (just pour water down my throat please) I think it is perfectly fine for you to carry on drinking. Now, if you had slept then I would say it was way too early to continue drinking.

You began drinking at 10:00pm to help the creative juices flow. You should not stop until you are done. It is called power writing, or Hemmingway writing, whichever you prefer. If you quit, and sleep, forget about having any continuity in what you are writing.

Now, what baseball, fireworks and country music has to do with all this, I do not know. :(

Too late, so long as you've not slept (including napping on the toilet, like I usually do when drinking into the small (and somewhat larger) hours of the morning). If you've slept, then it's too early.

It's ok to have one drink when you wake up, a little eye opener. But drinking before lunch time is too early.

I agree with Harumf, if you're writing drunk, you should keep drinking no matter how late it gets. But once it get's so late that you won't be able to function the next day (function is subjective based on the duties you have to perform that day), then it's time to go to bed (and thus, stop writing, and thus, stop drinking).

My brain is melting tonight...

Not from teh beer, its fince from that, but I've been writing a script to an upcoming series of shorts I'm doing for our website/TV.

It's called "Lawrence of Sonoma"... Lawrence being my middle name and sonoma being where I live... and I have been listening to teh soundtrack of the movie all night, after watching the movie twice today.

I also went to work, did my usual business, drank coffee for several hours and returned to work on the script.

so my day has been interesting... but yeah... the soundtrack + all night = Melts brains.
