What I miss about Chicago:

When you were a kid, on a hot late spring day like today, and you told your Mom you were going to the Cubs game, she'd say, "don't forget a jacket".

This may sound strange to most of you, but I was reminded of this here in Ann Arbor when I went to lunch downtown. It was 87 degrees and it is June 6th. When I got downtown it was 88 degrees! If this was Chicago it would be 68 degrees or colder downtown!

On any given spring, summer of fall day in Chicago it is 15 to 20 degrees cooler by the lake! If it is 80 degrees at your house, but the time you got to Wrigley Field for that 1:06pm afternoon ballgame it would be 62 degrees with a stiff wind off the lake!

Are there any other of you that have peculuar weather phenom where you live??

Montreal: typical Northern climate with moderate precipitations;

Rimouski: humid Northern climate with very abundant precipitations (proximity to St-Lawrence river).

CLEVELAND ROCKS!
Cleveland is the same with the lake... Keeps it cool! I drove up to Detroit for the Red Wings Parade today ( :D ) and boy was it hot! Lake St Clair wasn't quite doing it for me

Honestly I can't stand this 90 degree weather, I could never live in the south... Cleveland's weather has been unusually amazing so far this year, 70's and sun every day it seems!!!!!!!!!!!! B)

(I'm not saying that London is hot by the way as it isn't really....except for the tube, which is exceptionally hot - we don't have air conditioning on the tube and, trust me, when you're extremely hungover, squashed against the doors like a tinned sardine at 9am it really is hell!)

Do you live in Philly, Ukab?

I was down in Ocean City today (in Jersey). Fun. But I'm sunburned now. I'm half-Italian. I shouldn't roast like this. :(

Well I think there is few this worse than a Carolina summer day, at least now-a-days. My home town is perfectly situated between a freshwater river on one side and the Atlantic ocean on the other. Between the two we use to get the most refreshing breezes anywhere in the world IMO during hot summer days.

Now it seems all we get are hot summer days (90+ degrees) with even hotter air (humidity can put us up in the 100+ some days). Still I swear there's nothing finer than to be in Caroliner in the mooooooooorning

Where in Carolina?

Norfolk, VA for me.

Indeed, ocean breezes make humidity worth it. (96 in the shade today)

Greatest invention in the history of the South, if you ask me, is the porch. Dry in the rain, cool in the heat.

Though I go back up to Philly this Friday, to join my folks, and then to Florida... So it'd have to be in September :P

Hey if you're driving to Florida, stop into Wilmington, it's not too far off the course, we could do lunch ^^

AQ I live in Wilmington, though I have relatives in VA, not far from Norfolk if I'm not mistaken.

Btw, NRE, whenever you make a UNC Chapel Hill reference I get excited. There's a long family history at UNC. Both parents were from NC, and I spend a lot of time down there. It's my second-favorite state.
