Thinking of leaving; Time is a bitch

Its been a year and a half since I joined the forums, and I've seen some excellent RP'ers, told stories side by side with them, and learned to call all of you my friends. But lately I have had little time to do anything at all, and every time I think of the forums here I am starting to feel as if my extended absences is becoming a much greater burden on your incredible stories than they need be, perhaps far more a liability than any bit of contribution.

Atop that, the stress of everything else has taken its toll on my creativity and my mood; Bluntly put I don't feel like RP'ing anymore, I have absolute chronic writers block, even trying to think of what I should say in this very post I am making right now is giving me a headache, and my ability to actually make a good post has been utterly crippled from my growing impatience and outright frustration.

I haven't reached any decision as of yet, but unfortunately I simply cannot commit the time I once could. That said if I do not find time soon, I will have little choice but to take my leave of the forums out of necessity rather than out of choice... :(

Yours truly,
Eleytheria-Duo.

We all need a break man. I took one for a long time before I came back. If you decide to do that, you'll be welcomed back when you should choose.

In the mean time, keep in touch eh? Off topic, or e-mail. Anything.

Yeah don't forget, just because you don't RP with us doesn't mean you're not welcome. Pop in and leave us a word or two in the off-topic, no need to feel as if you should leave us all together unless of course you feel you must.

Sort of the same thing I do. I just hang around the off-topic now, since I didn't have much time to work on any RP (and the mechanics of it are very time consuming on my end as well). I have intermittent patches of free time, so that's why I'm very active some days and not active others.

QFT.

Take your time, man. Whenever you can come back, if you want to, know you'll be welcomed.

I am sorry to hear that. I understand full well what the real world can demand of your time. For example, during the school year (full-time teaching) my day began at 5 am and ended at 10 or 12 that night. You know just what your body can handle, and do drop by and know that you are welcomed anytime.

Committ yourself to being affiliated with NSWR for life, until you die. Once you get that mindset, then your experience with NSWR will be much better and you will be able to step back and take a break, and come back fully refreshed.

I think a large problem with today's society is that people are no longer willing to do something for the rest of their life until they die, even if the process of decline and death are agonizing and prologned.

Except we'll all forget what just happened after we posted.

What? Too soon?

Damn dude. Damn.

When I get back (if ever), we'll talk over IM. For now I will keep it short and sweet.

Take your break and come back refreshed. :D

You'll know that you have been here a long time when our off-topic forum is mostly "Did you hear who died yesterday?" and stuff like... "Kas died peacefully in his sleep next to a lifesize doll of general gassel Tuesday evening..."

I think when we're 80 , New Harumf would be at that point immortally grafted on a robotic exoskeleton that allows him to continue posting on NS.

Why not? I've been on NS since 2002, made the first forum for the Middle East, been posting here since Paradise made this forum in December '03.

'Course, I'll be long dead when you guys are still posting in your 80s... but I'll be here in 2018 (unless Paradise bans me).

[Edit]

And if you want to be a regional mod NH, just ask. I'll protect you from AA and whoever else is making threats. So long as you stay out of Asia.

Well, I've had some time to think about the forums and my involvement therein. My decision may disappoint some of you here, but hey... Can't satisfy everyone, now can I?

I've decided to stay, time is still a bit of a luxury; So I will be inactive for quite some time, maybe I'll drop by now and then and make a post, but I will otherwise avoid most RP's for the time being. I've read the posts and I must say, if I am still at these forums by the time I turn 80, I can only wonder if our Grand-children would ever Role-play, or see it as something old geezers do in their spare time.

I also hope they find a definitive cure for cancer by then; I've a feeling my prostate would appreciate it.

Well so long as I'm able and have the time, I'll continue to post. Unless everyone leaves, then I might not cause it wouldn't be the same. :P
