In Edinburgh The crowd was finally cheering. German born boxer Aldrick Pankraz had been taking a beating for the last 4 round, a beating from Çerdon born boxer Adnet Juste. But Aldrick Pankraz had landed a blow, and nice square hit on the side of the jaw, and the crowd loved it. Maybe it was a portent of the war happening in the rest of Europe, but either way the Menhadien crowd wanted to see the Çerdon boxer fall. ____________________________________________________________________ T.V/Radio Broadcast "We find our selves depts of yet another war, and our brave allies have stopped the enemy, but still they need our help to push them from their lands. Just as President Nixon was delivering another speech, this time specifically aimed towards those who assassinated Chevalier, the High Command was under extreme pressure to produce a solution to the impending crisis that would come as Çerdon forces melted away from the field. It was proving difficult. Porcu had one of Europe's best trained and equipped forces but against such overwhelming numerical superiority bravery, training, and equipment could only do so much. The situation on the ground in Quaon was rapidly turning sour with many of the newly promoted Çerdon officers becoming understandably frustrated with their men and then turning to their Porcuian allies and blaming them for not carrying enough of the load. How could they? The Swiss-Roman Security Force had been a complementary force the entire time, held to maintaining secondary strategic points in Quaon the only major effort allotted to the SRSF was in the taking of Minsk and even then it was an aiding effort. With their allies's confidence still high those Çerdon individuals who still wanted to fight looked to their Porcuian comrades for strength, some even deciding to abandon their positions with the Çerdon line and taking up positions within the Swiss-Roman line. French was a main language in Porcu, although not the official, and so mixing of personnel was hardly a challenge to whomever decided to defect. Many more Çerdon began looking to their Porcuian allies as a safe passage back home and many Swiss-Roman officers were understanding of the situation that many individuals faced, letting them slip through and along Swiss-Roman supply lines back to Scandinavia. It was an interesting albeit not fun time to be a Çerdon soldier. Either continue to fight and possibly be stranded in Quaon as the rest of your army headed back home on its own accord or try to make it home on your own, the journey either ending with your death at the hands of your former officers or successfully. The internal situation in Çerdoné was not helping the situation for the hard working men on the ground, many who feared for their family's safety and many more having none at all. The prospect of having a communist revolution in Çerdoné of all places did not sit particularly well with the men and as unfiltered news reports came in, obviously only being found in Porcuian mess halls of which were steadily being flooded by Çerdon troops who looked for honesty and truth in a time of extreme uncertainty, mass defections began to occur. Precise numbers were impossible to come by but those who felt that arriving back home to a place where soldiers were viewed as the enemy was not a good decision certainly made up the majority of the defectors, some of whom had to be turned back to Çerdon hands to make it appear as if Porcu was doing her part in honoring Çerdon High Command orders. One must keep in mind however that the critical battle had yet to be fought, only a slight number of men having chosen from the various options discussed above. Kiev was still within Çerdon grasp and leaders on both sides quickly came to the conclusion that this was a "make or break" situation to which the advantage began to lay with Quaon simply on the fact that morale among the Çerdon lines was at a breaking point and the slightest turn in battle could prove disastrous. Again, simply due to strength of numbers, the Swiss-Roman Security Force was allotted as an aiding force designated with holding down as much Quaonion resistance as possible to allow Çerdon forces to smash them from the flanks. Tough and ugly urban fighting had defined this theater of war and it seemed as if the gods of war were not smiling yet another time... |

Yshurak's potential involvement in the war had been a hotly debated subject within the Soviet Chamber of the Unity Building. Many within the Yshurakan government recognized that the Quaonians were fellow communists, but it had also been known that Quaon had rejected every attempt Yshurak had made to form a friendship and alliance with them. Still, the Cerdon occupation of Quaonian lands was ugly, and constant belligerence by Cerdone and its allies navies in the Baltic was beginning to effect Yshurak's foreign trade. Finally it was decided upon in a sweeping 45 to 15 count majority by the Soviet Council to enter the war and aid Quaon against its Cerdon aggressors. News had just came in that the Cerdon Prime Minister was assassinated, and thus it was a perfect time to make a strike against the enemy. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Yshurak has stood by for too long and watched Cerdone senselessly assault its neighbors in the so-called cause of "democracy." Democracy is a senseless philosophy if this is the sort of international behavior that it leads to. Furthermore, Yshurak's foreign trade has felt a small, yet significant blow due to the pointless exercises of meaningless aggression in the Baltic practiced by Cerdone and its allies. No more. Yshurak will see to it personally that Cerdone and its allies will be pushed from Quaon and the Baltic. Yshurak will use every resource at its disposal to crush the tinpot democracies that plague Europe and finish this war! Yshurak fomally declares war on Cerdone and its alliance. - Official International Press Release from Yshurak ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In the northwestern tundras of Yshurak, a massive force of 4 million infantry soldiers and hundreds of armored units was being formed. The People's Army of Yshurak would cross the "neutral zone" between the borders of Yshurak and Cerdone. From that point, an invasion against the so-called democracy would be waged. Dressed warm, the brave Communist soldiers felt eager for the long march as the Midnight Sun hung low in twilight. From the naval bases of Yshurak along its Baltic shore, fleets of ships were launched to meet their enemy on the high waves. If reports from merchants and fishing vessels were accurate, there were mines placed strategically somewhere farther southwest. The Yshurakan fleets, as precaution, prepped their minesweepers for clearing the way when they finally reached the mined zones. MiG bombers and fighter escorts were scrambled from Yshurakan airbases and sent on raids against Porcuian and Cerdon cities and bases, being careful to only hit government and military buildings. The bombs were computer programmed to pick out these specific targets. Yshurak had entered the war in a furious rage. |

Yet another foe had entered the fray against the free world. This time, Çerdoné was in no position to deal with it. With two collapsing fronts and an ever-worsening home front, it looked as though Çerdoné was completely doomed. It could not hold its own against yet another foe, particularly one with the size of Yshurak. Çerdoné had few choices left. So, it fought on. It couldn't afford to make a peace that would see its country torn to bits. They did know, after all, that the ToK powers and Yshurak would no longer settle for the status quo being restored. No, they'd want something far greater then that. Andorra was starting to crack, Porcu wasn't large enough to hold its own, and the micro-allies would quickly be rolled over. Democracy in Europe would be a lost cause if Çerdoné went under. But it looked as though Çerdoné would go under. The communists were winning already in the emergency parliamentary elections, which would mean it was just a matter of time before Çerdoné was pulled from the war. Or worse, flipped sides. No matter the case, the entrance of Yshurak into the war bolstered Çerdon Communist Party strength. The party now declared an open state of war with the government, and claimed to be the one rightful legitimacy. The people of Çerdoné, angry at parliament did little to stop them. It would be just a matter of time before the Yshurakis or the Quaonians got to Çerdoville to confirm those fears. In the meantime, Çerdoné would collapse. |

Swiss-Roman Presidential Residence, Outskirts of Stockholm Posted Image "Sir!" exclaimed one of the suited body guards assigned to the President. "We have to go now!" Nixon, who lay beside his wife, quickly awoke his wife with a few taps on her shoulder before he himself jumped out of bed. Not bothering to dress themselves Nixon and his wife began to run towards one of the bomb shelter located in the Presidential residence, flanked on all sides by special guards who had just come to aid the president. "What's going on!?!" Nixon exclaimed without losing a step. "Yshurak has just entered the war against us and a few moments ago their fighter-bombers managed to break through our SAM defenses and have already struck targets such as the Senate building and High Command Headquarters. The Senate was currently holding session in an underground cellar and all Senators are accounted for but we think that they are also coming here..." The empty halls of the grand residence echoed the clomping of feet against wooden floors as the party of six or so quickly made their way towards the shelter. The full moon shined brilliantly through the large glass windows of the residence, providing the only illumination to Nixon and his guards. The eerie silence of the night was quickly broken, the sound of approaching fighters filtering through the walls and echoing themselves, striking terror in Nixon's heart. "RUN!!!" shouted a guard thinking he noticed the figure of a Yshurakan fighter. His eyes didn't deceive him but that would be one of the last things he would ever remember. The fighter came in low and fast, no doubt using advanced night vision and heat sensory equipment to hone in on the small but noticeable party of Porcuians. The door to the shelter was located only a mere 200 feet away from where Nixon and his wife stood but as the fighter began unloading its fatal ammunition upon them the distance seemed much greater than that. Cannon rounds shot through the glass, shattering it and filling the night with fiery explosions as the rounds cut their way through man, fabric, and metal. Two guards went down without so much as a blink of an eye, their warm blood tainting the now pale colored face of Nixon's wife and staining Nixon's own night shirt. Without a moment to lose the remaining four guards dragged Nixon and his wife to the ground. "Stay down!!!...Wait for fighter to pass before running! Get to shelter!!!" was the last thing Nixon heard from one particular serviceman. The heat sensor of the fighter was still picking up heat from the dead guard and with Nixon and his wife collapsed beside him the pilot quickly thought he had nabbed three kills, in which case he shifted his guide a little to the right aiming for the four remaining targets who were still running for the shelter. Another round of hot metal flew through the historical residence, tearing up anything in its path, eventually striking the serviceman who had advised Nixon to lay low in the neck. As Nixon's wife wept, Nixon couldn't keep his eyes off the man who may have ended up saving their lives. The serviceman gasped for a few moments, blood collecting in a pool at his feet, before he himself collapsed. As this occured, another guard was killed, running right into the main focus of fire and being lit up like a Christmas tree. Two guards managed to make it to the door and open it only to be shot through the head and back, respectfully. The deadly charge was not finished however as the fighter still unloaded on the guards, their bodies absorbing most of the fire the door handling the rest. Just then the fighter had stopped firing, the pilot probably reassessing his efficiency and his scanners. Most of the heat had departed from the initial body whom Nixon and his wife were hiding behind and Nixon was not foolish enough to believe he could hide behind the body forever. Taking a moment to look over at the night sky, Nixon saw that the pilot was just about to cross over the residence and when he did he wasted no time in running those 200 feet like he had never ran before. Wishing to take another look, the pilot made a quick turnabout and soon found himself looking at another two individuals running for the shelter. Wasting no time, he pulled the trigger again and once again the residence was filled with cannon rounds. Nixon managed to make it to the door quickly enough but en route his wife had tripped and fell. Nixon only had time to look back and gaze into her eyes, full of fear, before she too was sent to the next world. Nixon stood at the door, the entrance of the shelter, to which he only needed to step into and be safe but just stood in disbelief. He fell to his feet, eyes fixed on the now lifeless body of his life-long companion, and try as he might he could not cry. Tears would not come. All around him feathers and stuffing of furniture flew around as if it was confetti, paintings were shredded, the sound of metal penetrating the wooden frame of the residence reverberated through Nixon's ears and he just sat there, on his knees with feet behind him, and gazed ahead. Nixon could never remember how he managed to make it into the shelter that night, the memory of his wife's eyes being fixed in his brain like a filter over a light source... |

We accept these terms in acception for number three. Though we did declare war on Germany our forces were not responsible for a single Germans death. No formal orders were given to engadge German forces and no offensives were made into German territory. The Damage that was done was inflicted by Mircanian Forces. Mircania's war debt is too large to fall on the shoulders of poland at this time. The PSU shall adheer to numbers one and two of this peace treaty but the debt of deaths and new land claims should rightfully fall upon Mircania. Prime minister Tusk Kaczynski |

With more confidence and success then they had held in weeks, German troops were advancing towards the coastline of their homeland, intent on forcing out a nation going through death throes of its own. Cerdone was in complete ruin on the home front, with Communist sympathizers declaring war on the incumbent government, and much of its infrastructure blown to bits by enemy bombing raids. This state of chaos was reflected in the German theater, with Cerdon troops retreating without command and failing to properly coordinate even the simplest of acts. Entire regiments were surrendering en mass, men happy to have escaped death either on German shores or in the anarchy of their homeland. On the subject of homelands, German government officers could not help but grimace. The German countryside had been completely ravaged, and it appeared that, if Germany were forced to retake the coast and Lubeck by force, centuries of history and decades of development would be lost in short order. With this weighing heavily in his mind, along with the wars still raging elsewhere, Kaiser Fritz felt it necessary to give diplomacy one last chance. _____________________________________________________________ Low Encryption To: Commander of Cerdon forces in Germany (OOC: name?) From: The Empire of Germany Before forcing your troops into the frigid waters of the Baltic, we of Germany wish to extend an olive branch to you one final time, in hopes that further bloodshed can be avoided. In return for a separate peace with Germany, including an immediate ceasefire, Germany demands: 1) Full reparations for damage to German infrastructure and development in Lubeck and other major population centers 2) Immediate withdrawal of all Cerdon troops from German territory 3) Immediate withdrawal of all Cerdon troops from Mircania and the PSU 4) An allotment of territory in which a provisional German and local government shall be formed, ranging from the cities of Umea to Sundsvall to Ostersund, encompassing all territory falling between and around these population centers. |

By harboring units openly hostile to Germany, the PSU assumed the burden of whatever action these soldiers might undertake. However, the argument is nonetheless a valid one, and so Germany will leave it to the PSU to negotiate with Mircania on how to pay this debt, as it will be shared between Mircania and the PSU. |

General Statement: The Swiss-Roman Republic of Porcu acknowledges this ceasefire by Germany and wishes for negotiations to begin immediately with the nations of Germany and Quaon, the only two nations where Swiss-Roman troops found themselves during the course of the war. Most of all, Porcu wishes for the safe passage of her soldiers back home. Statement to Germany: I, General Felix Potvin, wish to place the fate of the small Swiss-Roman contingent in Germany into the hands of the German Empire, asking for my honorable men to safely pass through German lands and return to their families in Porcu. Statement to Quaon: I, General Massimo Sonata, wish to place the fate of the Swiss-Roman contingent in Quaon into the hands of the Quaoion government, pleading for safe passage for my men so that they may return home to their families in Porcu. OOC: Because my forces are smaller to begin with many small units were mixed with Cerdon forces in Germany but in Quaon they fought semi-independently (if that affects the negotiations at all)... |

The Battle of Kiev was anything but the climatic battle that had been expected. It was no Stalingrad by any means. The Quaonion forces, numbering a million, found itself facing a starving force of men numbering only a hundred thousand. The Cerdons were outflanked and outnumbered. The attack was short but brutal. Communist soldiers spared no effort in bringing the fight straight to the enemy. Led personally by Comrade Falan, they tore into their lines, shelling the capitalist scum as well. Hand to hand combat in the outskirts of Kiev commenced. The Quaonions fought with a viciousness unseen so far in the war. At last they would have their victory. The Cerdons held out for less than an hour. They were simply outmatched. Men began throwing down their arms and raising their hands. Some were lucky enough to be taken as prisoners, others were caught in the crossfire. At last, the Cerdon command officially surrendered. Within the next twenty four hours, a two million man Quaonion army advanced, reclaiming lost territory with the help of Menhad. The governments of the puppet states of Belarus and Lithuania either dispersed or were captured and executed. Within a day, all of Quaon was back under communist control. The Quaonion government prepared an invasion of Cerdone, sending messages to its communist allies in Cerdoville explaining its intentions. *** To: General Massimo Sonata As a token of good will, the surviving units of Porcu shall be allowed to exit our territory. We however demand full reparations for *** To: Mircanian High Command We demand that you immediately evacuate from Konigsberg. *** To: Austro-Bayern High Command Austro-Bayern shall immediately vacate from Hungarian territory. *** To: Marslavan High Command We offer to cease hostilities. *** To: Yshurakan High Command Comrades, we thank you for your help in this war. We would be happy to see you as fellow members of the Treaty of Konigsberg, if you would be willing to apply. |

To: The Quaonian Government From: The Unity Building We shall greatly consider signing such a treaty. Furthermore, we would like the Quaonian government to reconsider joining the United Socialist Alliance and help strengthen communist ties throughout the world. We either stand together, or we don't stand at all. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The bombing raids of Cerdone and Porcu were a complete success. While a mere 20 jets had been lost to Porcuian anti-aircraft fire before its lines had been completely obliterated, hundreds more had swarmed the skies. Targets had been successfully decimated and minimal damage to enemy civilian areas had been sustained. Yshurak had commanded the skies in triumph! Yshurakan fleets sailed through the Baltic, ready to engage any enemy ships unwise enough to stand in their way. Upon locating the mined waters, the minesweepers were deployed to clear the area of the danger. The tiny boats were under the careful cover range of the fleet battleships while they conducted their slow and steady cleanup. In northern Cerdone, the counter-invasion was already underway as the Yshurakan armies marched through the tundra and taiga forests, seizing enemy territory by capturing towns and villages. Citizens were treated well and allowed to conduct their daily business under communist supervision. Communications with the more populated areas farther south were disconnected to prevent word of Yshurak's progress from spreading. Cerdone's government and military as found from overhead flight surveys were disorganized and in disarray as civilian protests began to grow more frequent. As such, it was believed the Yshurakan invasion force would need to fear very little resistance from the Cerdon armed forces. |

OFFICIAL PROPOSAL FOR PEACE Since Mircania officially declared war only on Germany we will negotiate our surrender only with Germany. The United States of Mircania propose the following terms: TERMS ABOUT WAR DAMAGES - Mircania will entirely pay reparations for materials, infrastructures and soldiers (including compensations for dead soldiers) inflicted from the armed forces of Mircania to Germany. - Mircania will be later free to negotiate with the PSU to have something in return TERMS ABOUT THE ENCLAVE OF THEURUSIA - Germany will entirely annex the city and suburbs of Koninsberg including all of their infrestructures, companies, factories, harbours, etc... - The territories of the Enclave of Theurusia which are left will be declared "Neutral International Protectorate" and will be administer by a provisional government whose members will be either Mircanians and Germans/Prussians - Germany will have complete military access to Kinongsber and the Neutral International Protectorate of Theurusia. Mircania will be able to maintain military garrisons only in the Protectorate of Theurusia -------------------------- PSU Territory and Lubeck territory Posted Image Mircanian army was retreating. More than 350,000 men were going back home abandoning defence positions along the Germany-PSU border as the Germans advanced. The evacuaton was very rapid and even though was war almost over entire squadrons of Mircanian fighters were flying above the army anche gorund SAM vehicles were always alerted because Mircanian high joint command feared another german attack on the retreating army as the one the Germans carried out on the Mircanians when they entered PSU territory. A war which hadn't really been fought by Mircania. Only the soldiers in the enclave fired some shots against the German garrison and its 50,000 men contingent sent to Cerdoné had suffered only few casualties because of the new commanders of Cerdon army which didn't send Mircanians into the carnage which occured on the frontline. However because of German bombings and guerrila attacks Mircanians suffered more than 500 casualties. The contingent was loaded, whith the polite permission of German authorities which captured most of the Cerdon soldiers, on Mircanian ships anchored in Lubeck and carried out the last big trip of the Mircanian fleet in this war. The cargos were escorted by all the Mircanian ships which weere part of the Mircanian-Marslavan joint fleet and in less than a day every ships had returned safely to Danzig. |

The landing at Cerdoville was anti-climatic. A million communist soldiers crossed the Baltic and moved into secure the capital of their old capitalist foe. There was little resistance; the Cerdon military had collasped, with no central command of any sort. What resistance did come tended to be civilian partisans and they were quickly put down. Comrade Robert Niépcé was made Provisional President of the newly declared Cerdon Socialist Republic and Comrade Falan declared victory in the conflict. For all intents and purposes, the war had ended. |
