The Sibrtech CEO looked out of the window of his business jet as it descended into Rafzakael. My god, he thought, the entire country is a giant assembly line.

This was not entirely inaccurate, as Ostankov had attracted a myriad of investors since the Syndicat had solidified its hold as a sovereign state, and was only too happy to raze forests and dam rivers in order to clear land for their factories. Their smokestacks rose into the air almost like church spires, and clouds of thick black smoke billowed out, created by the mechanical altars housed within. Through the smog ahead, Markov could see the runway, its lights glimmering through the thick atmosphere. The plane touched down with a slight bump, and rolled to a stop.

When he disembarked, Markov was greeted by the sight of a black sedan parked on the runway, just a short ways away. Leaning against it was a man who might have been in his mid-fifties, dressed casually in slacks, shirt, and jacket, but no tie. He stood up as the CEO walked town the plane's stairs, and extended his hand in an introduction.

"Mr. Markov! I'm Bob Scheuermann, Director of Operations for the Syndicat. Mr. Ostankov sends his apologies, as he's currently out of state for a meeting, himself." His handshake was firm and friendly, in the same manner as his general demeanor. The two got into the car through the open side-rear door, with the DO sliding to the fa side to let Markov in. Wordlessly, the driver pullled off the tarmac, and into Syndicat City proper.

By the time the two had arrived at the Syndicat Center, a towering monument to industry and technology, Schuermann had made an impression on the CEO with his friendly and cheerful attitude, which was surprising considering his occupation. After a discrete security scan entering the building, which appeared to Markov as a standard revolving door, the two took an elevator to the top floor, and sat down at the boardroom table. "Ah," Scheuermann sighed, leaning somewhat heavily on the polished wood. "I understand that you're having some difficulties with your government. Let's see what we can do about that."

"Indeed," Markov said coldly. "These Muscovite fools are quite the pain. Komarov is cowering in the now fortified Novosibirsk City Hall, while the Cossacks constantly patrol the streets. The only good thing they are doing is ridding the city of it's communist scum. A few of the lesser corporations have also come to Komarov's aid, hoping to overthrow me I would assume. Ha. The fools... They don't understand that the uranium enriched by my factories is Sibiriya's economy.

"I apologize if I seem somewhat icy, for you have been a welcoming host. However, this is my life's work these Muscovites are about to undo. I'm sure you may have felt the same at some point in building this corporate giant of yours. So, I am all ears to hear what your offer may be, and I am ready to bargain the price."

"Building the giant was Ostankov's job, I'm just here to make sure that everything runs smoothly. The way I see it, you have two options. The first is to remove the Cossacks, overthrow Komarov, and seize the country for yourself, in the same manner as we did here. However, the fact that Komarov has acheived ties with a nation on the scale of Russia complicates this; we chose New Moravia, a backwards and isolationist society, for a reason.

I would recommend the second option: stage the coup, but when Komarov is deposed, find someone else to fill his place. This should be someone popular with your people, yet easily swayed enough so that you may direct his actions as head of state. He will continue friendly relations with Russia, while Sibirtech operates quietly, and unopposed."

"Well, currently the only leader popular enough with the people to stage such a coup is Konstantin Ulyanov, the leader of the communist movement. Are you suggesting Sibirtech help him? The man is not interested in profit, but rather equality. He would have my throat fed to huskies if possible.

"However, should he be persuaded that we were thinking of the good of the people, perhaps he would reconsider. But I am in no position to negotiate with the likes of him. I am simple scum in his eyes, rather than the made man I am today. Do you know of anyone who can persuade communist scum of why corporations are so important to the economy?"

A smug smile appeared on Scheuermann's face at the metion of the communists. A thoroughly bizarre and impractial philosophy. "Ah, no, I'm afraid that probably won't do," he said, then paused to think for a moment. "Well, it's really up to you in the end. Whatever you decide to do, either install yourself or a weaker puppet, the Syndicat is prepared to support your rising."

"In that case, I believe I will take the reigns of Sibiriya myself. With your help I should be able to crush both the Imperial and communist dogs in one swipe. What support are you prepared to offer, and at what cost?"
