To World: From this day forth, the Commonwealth of Brasil declares its complete independence from the Kingdom of Belgium socially, economically, and politically as a new state in South America, the reason for this being the unexcusable decay of political and human rights within the Kingdom of Belgium's borders. As the former provincial governor of the ex-colony of "Belgian Brasilias", I (Isaac Comnemus) declare myself the High Steward of the Brasilian Army and State, and look forward to a new day of light for the people of Brasil. We look forward to beginning relations with foreign nations. - High Steward Isaac Comenmus, Commonwealth of Brasil |

-Çerdoné recognizes this new nation of Brasilias, and would like to know what type of governance the new nation will follow. Specifically, we'd like to know if democratic reform is to be instituted in the nation. -Caronicilia recognizes this new nation, and hopes that military officials continue to govern the nation, for that is the only way that strong government can exist in formerly war-stricken countries. -Solara recognizes this new country as a sovereign entity. -Espanora does not recognize Brasilias as an independent country, and see it as a potential threat to regional stability, which is already fickle. |

Russia offers no comment at this time ---------------- The Holy Catholic Commonwealth wishes to know what religion the new government supports, as that will determine the relationship between out two countries. -Chancellor Johannes Whitmore ---------------- The Eastern Empire has no concern with this situation and therefore offers no comment ---------------- The United Confederate States of the Seceded South offers it's best wishes to the new Commonwealth of Brasil. We to know the struggles of suffering under an aggressive, repressive, and unjust government and celebrate our independence with pride. Official Statement from Brasilias With god and the nations of the world watching, the Commonwealth of Brasil is preparing to draft its first democratic constitution by the end of the week, and invites all nations friendly to the democratic cause to the city of Rio San Juan in twelve days time to witness this historic event. With the slow construction of our own military currently being undertaken, we encourage all nations friendly to our cause to flirt with the possibility of future military, economic, and political ties with our newborn country and maintain contact with us in the near future. - Isaac Comnemus, Steward of Brasil =========================== Official Belgian Statement As a rogue province in the Belgian Kingdom, we demand that all nations currently in support of this so-called "Commonwealth" withdraw their recognition of Brasil's independence immediately, at the cost of the complete severing of diplomatic ties with the Kingdom of Belgium. Isaac Comnemus is a traitorous noble to the Crown, and will serve only as a destabilizing presence in South American affairs. KNIL, or the "Belgian Legion", is a terrorist organization which will be eradicated by the might of his majesty's Royal Forces. Any persons or entities found to be in support of any one of the five traitor legions will be branded an enemy of the Belgian Kingdom. We look to our allies in the Treaty of Koningsburg for support in this time of darkness. - Duke Frederick Malbourne, Strategos of the Armed Escadron Protecteur |

The Swiss-Roman Republic of Porcu, with its colony of Swiss-Roman Brasilias supporting, fully recognize and applaud Brasilias' independence from Belgium. Consul Richard Nixon would like to be the first to state that he will make the trip to Rio San Juan and is confident that relations will flourish in the future. |

Official Belgian Statement: The Kingdom of Belgium hereby officially cuts all of its diplomatic ties with the nation of Marslava, seeing as Marslava violated its earlier alliance with the Kingdom of Belgium by supporting a rogue state and its illegitimate traitor leader. Belgian troops have been put on high alert in Belgium, and will act against the traitorous Marslavans should evidence be found of this nation aiding KNIL. |

Çerdoné advises Belgium not to make foolish, hasty actions. We wouldn't want to see our allies in Marslava come under attack, and I think your kingdom would also find it beneficial not to come to blows with us. |

Official Belgian Statement Cerdone should keep to its own matters and leave the governing of Belgian Provinces to Belgians. KNIL is a traitorous faction of the Belgian Armed Forces, and will not be allowed to expand their network of operations further in Belgian soil. We once again warn the world that direct support of KNIL and/or the Comnemian authority in Brasilias will not be tolerated by the Belgian Government in any way, shape, or form. Any attack on Belgian Brasilias by a foreign entity will be seen as an attack on Belgium as a whole, and will warrant the use of lethal force to defend Belgian lives and interests. |

Private to Belgium: The Aurum Corporation would like to offer its mercanaries in covert operations to disrupt Brasilian operations. Due to a previous dealing with the Belgians, we will gladly offer a discount. Private to Brasil The Aurum Corporation would like to offer to outfit the Brasilian armed forces with the latest in modern weaponry. As the Belgian hordes storm into Brasil, an inability to defend yourself would end your country's history before it ever had a chance to begin. Aurum is willing to work out a program where Brasil borrows equipment today, and pays over several years. |

We recognize no "Belgian Brasilias" present in South America. Perhaps Belgian authorities are looking at an outdated map? We recognize the independent Commonwealth of Brasilias, however. This "traitorous KNIL" has been nothing but a liberation force from colonial oppressors. Message to Brasilias: We have a proposition for your government. Should you promise to institute gradual democratic reforms in your great country, we shall ensure that your independence is preserved, at all costs necessary. The days of European dictators are over- lets not see Brasilias simply transfered into the hands of new ones. |

Message to Cerdone: We reassure you that our revolution is completely aimed at overthrowing the tyrannical yoke of the Belgian Crown and creating a stable democratic presence in the tumultuous region of South America. Our struggle is one for freedom, and we would very much like your support. - Isaac Comnemus Message to Marslava: Traitorous swine. You signed an alliance with us in the past and now you aid our bitter enemies in an attempt to curry favor with the "Democratic" governments in Europe.. Your kind are nothing better than the pitiful pigs which wallow in the mud of Luxembourg, and will be dealt with immediately if you dare shove your noses deeper into matters which do not concern you. - King Leopold Amaedo II, King of Belgium |
