Grandmaster Stiofan Paul Ui Siadhail halted just before he proceeded through the council chamber doors. He had not yet stopped to appreciate the simplicity of it all. The leaders and delegates would surely be shocked by his appearance so soon after being basically killed. God had pretty much handed Stiofan their prompt attention on a silver platter. However, he knew not to let this go to his head, for it was only because of God that he had his life.

He was fully dressed in his soldier's mail and his great helm, his sword Sanatio sheathed at his side. He proceeded into a silent chamber.

"My fellow leaders," he said as he removed his helm to she it was he and not an imposter, "good delgates, and faithful brothers... I live and breathe unharmed. God has saved me. I apologize for such violence on this that was to be a day of peace and happiness. The Combine has stuck out at me with a vile assassin. However, I have shown my mercy. I do not wish war, as they know not what they do. I have sent my would-be killer with such a message back to Ukabanea. The hope of peace lies in their hands. Let us hope they make the right choice.

That said, let us proceed to the matters we were to attend to, unless anyone wishes to make a statement?"

The Kaiser rose.

"On behalf of all the nations represented here today, I heartily congratulate you on your continued good health, and express both hope and admiration for your more generous efforts concerning Ukabanea."

OOC: Polkovnik is a military rank, not a name. Just for reference.
IC:

Polkovnik Rashid Idrisov steepled his fingers: it seemed this “Grandmaster” had the luck of the Devil. Nag Ehgoeg had been unaware of any plot to assassinate the man, but everyone present knew the Nagians counted the Combine as an ally of convenience.

“Gracious host, Nag Ehgoeg is thankful that you are… unharmed. We are here in the spirit of peace and truly it is unfortunate that an assassin should strike. But it is my understanding that you were shot. Would it not be prudent for you to… rest?”

OOC: Russian for colonel. :) Kudos.

IC:

"I have had enough rest. I do believe there is much to discuss here, and would be impolite for me to not oversee a council I called when I am able to do so. But I do indeed appreciate your concern."

OOC: Are you waiting for something specific? Because if you're not... I think people might be waiting on you to move this along.

OOC: Waiting for someone to say something like that. :P Oh, also, note this is before the Solist incident.

IC:

"Well then, moving on to the matters at hand.

Though I wish peace, I am not so sure of the Combine's intentions. If war comes, Sedulion will defend itself; however, I do not wish such a conflict to escalate into another war over the entire Middle East. As such, I ask humbly that if war comes that other nations refrain from getting directly involved to avoid such an escalation. I realize that may be unavoidable. I also realize my army is highly outnumbered, but we are more than capable of defending ourselves.

That said, on to matters of negotiation. Sedulion wishes to have a port in the Mediterranean for trading purposes. We realize this would require taking some land from Kiwinstan or the Kingdom of Jerusalem, but I would be willing to compensate them, whether in land, currency, or service. Sidon or Tyre would be the most preferable ports.

We also wish trade with whoever will have our merchants, alliances with our fellow Christian nations, and to open diplomatic relations with Islamic states since there have been no such communications as of yet.

I also wish to offer an apology for my rather extreme entrance onto the international scene. I did not wish to offend anyone with my statements of unity in the Middle East. I assure you I spoke only out of zeal for the old Byzantines. I am somewhat of dreamer you see. As such, I offer my hand in friendship to Catholic Europe in hopes that progress for all of Christendom can be made.

I have spoken my part, gentlemen. The floor will recognize whoever wishes to have it next."

At that, Grandmaster Siadhail stepped off of the floor and sat in his throne.

OOC: This is a chance to negotiate about whatever you want, so anybody is free to post away. You can even take a stab at someone if you want. Arguing is fun! :D

OOC: Sorry about that. Today I worked 08:00 until 19:15. We finished early. Nothing like a twelve hour working day (and not owning a computer) to make you not use the internet.
IC:

While Siadhail was relatively new to the world stage, their council had attracted the attention of several notable parties. Nag Ehgoeg had no strong opinion on orthodoxy one way or the other – the Holy League long dead and Nag Ehgoeg once again led by a staunch atheist – but the orthodox presented a problem. They could be counted upon to come to each other’s aid, some of the more pious Nagian citizens (while a minority) did consider them heretics and with Catholic Europe being rebuilt and restored in a world where orthodoxy was the dominant Christian denomination… the “orthodox problem” had to be addressed. And this was as good a place as any to address it. Still, while Nag Ehgoeg had plenty to say, Rashid was interested to see if the Genesians had anything to say…

OOC: It's fine. I had to go without my computer for most of these RPs so far. I only got it back last Firday. Good this is moving now, though.
