FOR ALL A GRAND DAY! Grandmaster Stiofan Ui Siadhail, Lord of Sedulion, bids to all leaders that they come to the ceremonies in Damascus for a day of peace and progress! The first ceremony will be the rise of Bishop Ainmire Ua Tuathail to the station of Archbishop of Damascus. The ceremony will be conducted in Damascus' Cathedral by the Archbishop of Syracuse, bringing good Ainmire into Orthodoxy, and thus all of Catholic Sedulion with him. It will be a day to remember as the churches of Sedulion unite! Then all will proceed to the Virgin Mary's Cathedral for the wedding between the Grandmaster Stiofan and Edywinna of Alexanderhaven, uniting the two countries in alliance and brotherhood. They will be wed by the new Archbishop of Damascus. The wedding party will go on as long as is appropriate. After the party, the Grandmaster wishes all leaders that have come to join him in his order's fortress. Bodyguards will not be needed here, as you will be safe in the defense of the Order. In the council chambers, there will be much to discuss. The Grandmaster wishes to hold this council not only for Sedulion's needs, but also for needed face to face negotiation between leaders on whatever issues they wish. The Grandmaster wishes there to be no violence during the ceremonies. There will be plenty of time to settle disputes in the council chambers. All are welcome! |

-Private Letter to the Tsar of Russia- Great Emperor, I must recall Knight Master Justinian Vallinius as he is, well, my best man. I would have needed him back sooner or later as it was. I will send Knight Brother Vladimir Slonov to take his place as head of Sedulion's embassy in Moscow. I hope to see you in Damascus for the ceremonies. I am hoping the council I hold will bring some sort of understanding between nations in this bloody world. Whatever the case, I am sure the ceremonies will be enjoyable. There is so much that must be accomplished for our faith. I hope that the reunification of the churches in Sedulion will cause many to follow. Of course, Catholic Europe has regained its strength, and is once again a possible block to reunification. Hopefully this Antonio can be negotiated with. Hopefully he does not become a pope. Such would be a travesty to the faith, allowing such a man into such a holy office. We can only hope God will guide him to the truth. Peace be with you. Grandmaster Stiofan Paul Ui Siadhail -end message- |

-Private and Secure- To: Grandmaster Siadhail From: Government of Nag Ehgoeg Nag Ehgoeg has watched Sedulion since it entered the world stage. We find your nation to be… disagreeable on several issues of politics. However we note you have extended a peaceful invitation to all nations of the world to attend your joyful wedding. Before the collapse of Catholic Europe, Nag Ehgoeg was a member of the Catholic Holy League. And as the bastion of The One True Church rises again we cannot help but take an interest in the reconciliation of the Catholic Church within Sedulion with Orthodoxy. The Papal bloodline has been driven into extinction; there is no longer a living Cardinal within Nag Ehgoeg; and of all heresies it is well known that Orthodoxy is the least offensive to Christ and its followers endure only the mildest of discomfort in purgatory. As such, Nag Ehgoeg offers no objection to this union of Churches and we find it doubtful that a definitive position will be raised by Catholic Europe in the near future. With this in mind, Nag Ehgoeg would like to attend your wedding along with a representative from Catholic Europe. In the future, Nag Ehgoeg may stand as an enemy to your nation and Catholic Europe may denounce your faith. But for now we will respond favourably towards your calls for peace and progress. |

-Private and Secure- To: Government of Nag Ehgoeg From: Grandmaster Siadhail We welcome your attendance as well as the representative from Catholic Europe. I realize my entrance onto the world stage may have been a bit... arrogant perhaps; however, I can see now I am but a man in a sea of giants. Sedulion wishes only peace so long as the one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church is not attacked. I consider both the Catholic and Orthodox churches to be fragments of this church. In Sedulion, we all call ourselves catholic. This new united church will in fact be called the Catholic Church of Sedulion. However, we recognize that as the Roman Catholic Church decayed in old Europe, Eastern Orthodoxy continued its traditions unbroken. We also recognize that the great schism was caused by a pope of Rome not recognizing his equality with the patriarchs of the rest of the church, but rather as their superior. Thus he excommunitcated the Patriarch of Constantinople, while the patriarchs excommunicated him. We also, however, recognize the pope of Rome needed the power to defend Rome from invaders. He seized power out of necessity. It has been just as necessary for this new leader of Catholic Europe to seize power to bring his nation out of chaos and back into order. We realize the possibility that he may someday be the pope of the Genesian Catholics. We in Sedulion put logic into our considerations before taking a stance. I simply agree with the ways of the Orthodox moreso than the Catholics, which is why I am in communion with them. In time, if I see the nations of Catholicism become benevolent and true and the nations of Orthodoxy become decrepit and false, I may well come over to the defense of Catholicism. In the end, I will side with who is in the right, not who benefits me. My nation will follow whatever choice I make, for they believe as I do. The majority of my order is in fact Irish Catholic, so they would not be so opposed to such a move. My order's duty is to protect the True Faith as Saint Siadhail, my forefather, would have us do. I may have certain agendas of reunification, but that is not as important as the truth and right action. I put matters of faith before my own wants. I wait anxiously to see how all these matters will unfold. For now, let us rejoice. I will welcome you as friends into Damascus. Peace be with you. |

To: Kaiser Fritz I of Germany From: Grandmaster Siadhail Sedulion will be overjoyed to welcome the Kaiser to Damascus! My people and I have great love of Germany, for many of us are German in our heritage. The Brotherhood of Saint Siadhail is in fact very closely based on that of the old Teutonic Order. If you currently have a Hochmeister of the Teutonic Order, we would be pleased to invite him as well. It will be an honor and a priviledge to receive you. You will surely receive an emperor's welcome. Peace be with you. |

King George of Sicily, Sardinia and Africa will be happy to attend. He will bring his family as planned. The Archbishop of Syracuse will attend to take his part in the ceremony, and with him, the Archbishops of Carthage in Africa and Caralis in Sardinia. ***** The Brotherhood of the Holy Sepulcher will send a delegation on behalf of the Patriarch of Jerusalem. It will be led by the Archbishop of Nazareth. ***** The Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem will send a delegation. While the Kingdom considers the Latin Catholic Church to be orthodox and the Pope in Genesis City (once one returns) to be the Viceroy of God, we believe it necessary to cultivate relations. ***** A letter on fine stationary and bearing an elaborate wax seal is delivered to the Grandmaster by a tongueless servant. When the seal is broken, he finds a letter written in the finest of oriental inks, with flecks of gold mixed into the thick black mixture. "Lord Grandmaster, I welcome you in your efforts to bring Roman law to the Syrian plain and the intitation of your Archbishop into the orthodox faith. There is much still to do before it is as it was, but I in time I will call upon you again. I cannot visit you now, but in the future we shall speak. In Christ God Faithful, Dux Petrae" The signature was elaborate and the Greek penmanship was immaculate. It was not immediately clear whether the Duke had penned the note himself or dictated it to a servant. Communications from the hidden city of Petra were few, though books were still published by the university's scholars. But the secret lord of the secret city never sent communications outside. For him to break this silence was a momentous occasion. |

Swiss NE would be delighted to send a delegate. **** Neo Nag Ehgoeg does not associate with heretics. When the End of Days comes, those who twist the name of Christ will be wiped from the face of the Earth. Alexanderhaven is aptly named - it is the haven of heretics and blasphemers of the Orthodox faith. It is just and good for the sick and perverted "Catholic" faith of Sedulion to be subsumed to the greater heresy of Orthodoxy: for to call themselves Catholic is to spit in the face of God! |

OOC- You know, the Aloerburg family is getting rather annoyed at how much respect the German Kaiser is paying the Ribbenzophs...first inviting them to his wedding, now attending one of theirs...you gotta be careful about these things Leb. The Empress Dowager is not amused. IC- Archbishop Michael of Alexanderhaven will attend, along with all members of the Ribbenzoph Family. The Royal Airship Manufactory of Alexanderhaven will unveil its new airship, the wedding present of King Tobias III, after the ceremony. |

President Omai Kameo would be glad to attend to the ceremony and transmit the best wishes from the peoples of Free Polynesia to the Grandmaster Stiofan and Edywinna of Alexanderhaven. But due to the political unstability our young nation is still traversing we'll only be able to send Amosa Taonga, our Minister of Foreign Affairs, as our representative. |

It was a cool and windless night. Stiofan Ui Siadhail stood on the walls of his fortress overlooking Damascus. He pondered how it all came to this, how he had come so far. Yet he knew his work had only just begun. He sensed someone approaching. "Knight Brother Thomas, how goes it?" said he. The Knight Brother was startled. He pounded his right hand to his heart as was the salute of the order. "Your advisors await you, milord." "Ah, very good. Thank you for informing me." Stiofan returned the salute, and then gave the Knight Brother a golden florin. "I know not all is well with your family, Thomas. Go home to them." "Thank you, milord. Very much, milord." The man had a son dying of some unknown ailment, yet he still did his duty. He started to walk briskly away from the Grandmaster. Stiofan wondered why the man had not taken leave. "Oh, and Thomas. Please take three months of paid leave. That is an order." "But milord..." "Go now, my brother." "Yes milord." The two parted ways, heading for opposite towers. Stiofan headed quickly for the council chambers. He thought it was peculiar that they had summoned him on his wedding night. As he entered the chamber, the Five rose. "All hail Grandmaster Siadhail, Lord of Sedulion!" "You know that's not really necessary," said Stiofan in annoyance. "Yeah, but we felt like it." "Vallinius, you have returned!" Stiofan embraced him with a roar. "How was Moscow?! Did you get me what I asked?" "Yep." Vallinius unveiled an SVT-40 Sniper Rifle, perfect condition. "Excellent. Absolutely excellent. How did you..." "Uh, Stiofan," Knight Master Inanis Sicarus interrupted, "we have urgent business to attend to. Your son..." "I have gotten another pregnant, father." Murtagh looked down in great despair. He had been able to contain himself for so long, but this one he simply could not resist. "I am sorry." "My son... my son... what am I to do with you? No one will take you! No one!" The Grandmaster sighed. "Do you love the girl?" "What?" "Do you love her?" "Yes." "Who is she?" "Um... Gisela Fleischmann." "WHAT?!" Knight Master Wilhelm Fleischmann burst into anger. "Hahahahahahaha! Good job, Murtagh!" chuckled Inanis. "You have insulted me for the last time!" "Seriously, how many times have you said that?" "GENTLEMAN! SILENCE!" yelled the Grandmaster. "Fleischmann, you have my apologies, but there can be no exception this time. Murtagh must marry Gisela. Look at the bright side. We'll both finally have some legitimate grandchildren." "Very well," said Fleischmann, "but it must be held in secret. Tonight." "Agreed. It shall be done. Is there any other business to attend to?" "Yes," said Inanis, "I believe you have a letter from a certain Dux Petrae, Stiofan. I wish to take an expedition to search for the lost city of Petra. It can't be far from our borders." "Nothing escapes your notice, does it Inanis. Would you please stop replacing my maids with your spies? They don't clean so well." "Uh..." "You always forget attention to detail, old friend. No you cannot take an expedition. However, feel free to look for it when you're on leave. Harm no one and be polite. And if you find it, be sure to give Dux Petrae this message." Stiofan handed Inanis a scroll. "You can leave after tomorrow's business is finished. I will grant you one month of leave. That should be plenty of time for you." "Thank you." "Well, is that all?" He paused to silence. "Well, let's get this over with." The Grandmaster and the Five proceeded to the fortress's chapel. This would be a sleepless night. |

At sunrise, aircraft from all over the world were starting to land at the Damascus Grand Forum Airport. Grandmaster Stiofan Ui Siadhail, rather hungover from vodka the night before, stood with the Five and his new daughter-in-law, now Gisela Ui Siadhail, to receive the world's leaders as they came down a sprawling red carpet. Knight Brothers lined either side of the carpet in their fearsome armor, reminiscent of the Ritterbrüder of the old Teutonic Order. Crowds of thousands were gathered behind them. When Kaiser Fritz I of Germany appeared from his aircraft, the crowds roared with excitement. "Wilkommen mein Kaiser!" is all that could be heard until the Kaiser had gone into the Grand Forum at the end of the carpet. It seems the German turnout had been heavy today. The crowds stunk of beer. However, when Prime Minister Marco Casmiro stepped off his plane, the crowd went even wilder. As the prime minister shook hands with Stiofan, he offered explanation. "Do not be mistaken by my order's knightly exterior. The people of Sedulion are strongly socialist." Stiofan laughed mischieviously. "Enjoy your stay, dear Marco." OOC: To be continued... milkshakes... |

OOC: If anyone didn't get word in that they were coming, feel free to just assume that you came (if you wanted to). After I'm done with the ceremonies, there will be negotiations held in which everyone can join in the conversation. I'm sure people are waiting to get stabs in at each other. :P IC: When the leaders had all arrived and were safely out of the eyes of the crowd in a forum lobby, they were given a tour of the Grand Forum grounds. It was a rather new structure, but its architecture was of Byzantine styling. Eight domed towers (the forum condominiums) shot off of a large central dome structure. Inside this structure was a huge senate area reminiscent of an amphitheatre or coliseum, in which the center was podium from which to speak. As they were led out of the forum, they could see embassies being constructed around the forum. "Any of you are of course welcome to add your little bit of architecture here if you wish. Oh, and I hope you like my new edition to Damascus," said Stiofan, gesturing to the Grand Forum. "Let us be off to the ceremonies then." They arrived at Damascus' Cathedral in the Old City. The crowds fell silent as the Archbishop of Syracuse began his ceremony of accepting Bishop Ainmire Ua Tuathail into Orthodox communion and rising him to the station of Archbishop of Damascus. |

As the ceremony progressed, Inanis Sicarus was approached by a robed man who gave him a scroll. He read it with great interest. "Report," Inanis whispered. The robed man responded. "We believe he is in the Greek Quarter currently. We cannot find him. He knows the trade well." "I'll inform the Grandmaster. Off with you." The robed man slipped away into the shadows as Inanis approached Stiofan. "Stiofan, you must come with me, now. There is something of great importance I must tell you." "Surely it can wait," said Stiofan, "Us speaking like this during the ceremony is very impolite." "There is an assassin in the city." "Haha. Who, you?" "You are the target, Stiofan." "You worry too much, Inanis. The Knight Brothers are out in force today. He would be a fool to strike today. However, I will release you from these ceremonies so you strengthen your efforts to find him." As Inanis started away, Stiofan added, "Oh, and do be careful in your search." Suddenly, in a loud voice, "With these things done, I now declare you Archbishop of Damascus." The ceremony was coming to an end. Stiofan jerked himself to attention. He had been caught off guard. "Inanis!" the Grandmaster whispered loudly. Inanis copied Stiofan's form. The new Archbishop of Damascus, Ainmire Ua Tuathail, started to deliver a speech with a rather heavy Irish accent. "Friends! Today is a glorious day for Christianity! Today the churches of Sedulion unite! Those of Orthodoxy and Catholicism embrace each other as brothers! Let us praise God and pray to him that others may follow our example..." The speech went on for another boring hour, and when it was done, all began to proceed to the Virgin Mary's Cathedral. Stiofan knew what had happened was a glorious thing, a good thing, but he also realized that it may have jeapordized the safety of his nation. To unite the churches without all others doing the same was unprecedented. He had basically formed a seperate faith under the guise of Eastern Orthodoxy. And there was an assassin loose on his weeding day?! Where God was taking Stiofan, he knew not. He calmed himself. "The wedding must proceed, and I must not worry. Faith must be my strength, for through my Lord I will not falter." |

Grandmaster Stiofan placed his head in one hand. He could see people alll around him yet could hear not a thing. Then things went black. He heard a voice. "My son, you have done well. You come through so much, and I only ask that you go a little further. Follow what you know to be true, and you will find what you have been seeking." Suddenly he found himself being cheered down the aisle of the Virgin Mary's Catherdral. He stepped up to Archbishop Ainmire and bowed his head. "I am graced by your presence, milord." "And I by yours, your holiness," said Stiofan. "Rise milord. Though I may be Archbishop now, we all know it is by your vision that this nation exists. I should be calling you your holiness." The archbishop smiled. "You are too kind, but it is God who I follow, and it only by His plans that we came here." Stiofan rose to a sudden silence. He turned. And then he saw her. His breath seemed to leave him, for he had not seen such beauty in so long. Perhaps she was not the most beautiful woman, but to Stiofan she certainly was. The Grandmaster had very particular tastes, and she fit them perfectly. It had just been so long. Though she was slightly worn with age, she was slim and slender with dark flowing hair. Stiofan suddenly felt that something truly great was happening this day, not simply an alliance by marraige. He felt a smile coming to his lips. He could not take his eyes from hers. Memories started to flood his mind. He was remembering the day that... "My Lord Grandmaster?" "Huh? Yes?" "So you do?" "Oh! Yes, I do, I do." He really needed to stop phasing out like that. It simply wasn't good for appearences. "I do." said Edywinna, giggling. "You may kiss the bride." Woah. Did I just miss another part? Stiofan thought. Suddenly he was taken aback by her kiss. She grabbed him towards her in his dazed state. It lasted for a moment before the archbishop decided to intervene. He whispered annoyed to Stiofan, "Uh, milord, there will be plenty of time for that later. I believe you have a council to oversee?" *slurp* "Oh right. I almost forgot. Do you wish to accompany me, dear wife?" "Certainly." The leaders and delegations proceeded out of the old city and to the order's fortress, passing through the Greek Quarter... |

Suddenly, Stiofan felt a piercing pain go through his chest... and his heart. He could feel warm blood begin to flow over his chest and back. His head hit the ground. Everything went white. All was blinding. My son, you are here, yet it is not yet your time. You have been betrayed by those closest to you, and slain by those who are ignorant of your importance to my plan. Remember my son, follow the truth, for only then will you find what you seek. Go now, my son, and make me proud. His heart began to beat. His lungs began to breathe. He rose up, and his vision faded back in from the white. People all about him stood stunned. His eyes were drawn to a presence in the darkness a chapel bell tower. "Assassin!" He stared his slayer in the eyes. "I will have your head!" At that he drew his longsword and charged after his would-be killer. |

Kaiser Fritz's arm ached from all the waving he had done, yet still there were countless numbers of people in sight along the parade route leading through the Greek Quarter. However, just as he turned his head to the greet yet another family of civilians, it happened. Screams. Confusion. Terror. Fritz's bodyguards surrounded him like a protective cocoon of suit-wearing soldiers, the closest firmly gripping him on the shoulder. "Down sir, there's been a plot to kill the Grandmaster." Fritz did not think about the significance of this revelation, but allowed his more primal instincts to overwhelm him. Crouching, he took off towards a nearby alcove, surrounded by men willing to die for their leader. |

As the Grandmaster was charging, he took another shot in the knee, hitting the ground with a violent roar as his stewards rushed to his aid. Knight Brothers seemed to flood in from everywhere, pursuing the assassin and getting the international rulers to safety in the Order's fortress. Grandmaster Stiofan was rushed to fortress's hospital, his new wife close by his side. He slipped into unconsiousness from the pain. -------------------- Stiofan awoke an hour later, Edywinna holding his hand in hers, and Vallinius standing at the end of his bed. "Vallinius, my friend, what has happened?" he said a bit dazed from morphiene. "Well, from what your doctor tells me, you should be dead. A bullet seemed to pass straight through your heart, yet there is no hole in your heart, only your chest and back. This can be nothing less than a miracle! I'm so glad you have survived my friend!" "Arrrrgh!" The morphiene was not working so well. Vallinius was about to send for aid, but the Grandmaster waved him not to. "What of the assassin?" "Combine. He is in the Greek Quarter Hospital. The Brothers made short work of him after he left his hiding place, the vile fool." "Vallinius, I have been betrayed. Betrayed by someone in the Order, possibly one of the Knight Masters." Vallinius becamse uneasy, his face full of surprise. "Oh, do not worry Vallinius. I can see it in your eyes that it is not you." "It couldn't be possible, Stiofan! It just couldn't... we have all been the closest of brothers for so many years..." "Inanis and Fleischmann have always been at each others throats. You know this. I don't think it could possibly have been Fleischmann, but I hate too think it was good ol' Jack..." "Fleischmann would never betray you, even if you don't get along so well. And Inanis is gone, no where to be found, leaving you to die!" "I know. I gave him leave." "What?!" "Calm yourself, Vallinius. Things will work themselves out eventually. Now if I remember right, I have a council to oversee..." "Stiofan, you can't be serious..." Stiofan opened his gown to reveal a healed chest wound. "Faith, Vallinius. Faith is worth everything. Bring me my helm and mail!" Vallinius stood stunned. "Y-yes my lord." Edywinna sighed. "My dearest wife, I am so sorry our wedding day has been so ruined. I so gracious you have stayed at my side even being so new to the family." "It would be wrong to leave your side. But it is so amazing that you..." "Think nothing of it. I'm surprised people aren't used to this sort of thing with me yet!" The Grandmaster burst into laughter. Edywinna's eyes began to water. "Dearest, do not cry, for you have witnessed the dawn of a new era. This event proves that the Lord is still watching over us. You will be perfectly safe with me, for the Lord is my protector, and now yours.." They embraced as she burst into tears. |
