OOC: I'm just going to start this now, if Nor wants to jump in he may do so at any time. IC: The Prime Minister had much on his mind now. Not only one, but two foreign leaders were to arrive in his residence at any moment. The first ever Madrid Pact Summit Meeting was to take place in Çerdoné, and there was much to discuss. Being a Euro-centric alliance of free states, the Madrid Pact was forced into a tough situation. While they weren't exchanging blows or anything, it wasn't a secret that the ToK and MP had their differences, to say the least. On the agenda was how to handle the situation, along with how to deal with the rise of totalitarian and authoritarian states in Europe and the world. In addition, Chevalier was interested in seeing what his colleagues thought about taking the alliance global, and actively pursuing new democratic allies. |

Nixon gazed out the window of his personalized jet, the jet designated to carry the Consuls of Porcu to all corners of the Earth, and sighed. Rough times seemed ahead and as of late he had not been able to get enough sleep, currently riding on less than 4 hours worth. Enjoying massive support back home Consul Nixon wasn't in a forced position to show something of substance back home, but to be honest it didn't really matter for he felt that important decisions and policies would be born at this conference. Nixon looked back outside after taking a moment to gaze at the stack of papers sprawled across his desk and noticed that the jet was finally making the approach into Çerdoné. Eager to impress his Scandinavian neighbor he took another moment to put on a tie and work on his limited French... |

Onboard Learjet A376-X, Prime Minister Jan Hooplek was busy finalizing what he was going to say during the Madric Pact meeting. This was the Prime Minister's first international visit during his career, and he had to make sure this would go well. The future of not only the free world, but Canton Rouge as well, depended on what happened during the meeting. Jan wondered what the other delegates would have to say, as the plane continued through the air. In a short time, the plane would be in Çerdoné, and Jan took what little time he had to ensure that everything went well during his introduction. |

As his guests arrived, they were greeted by a wide variety of welcoming ploys. Parades were held, the flags of Canton Rouge, Porcu, and Andorra were raised beside Çerdoné's, and the national anthems of each nation could be heard, sung by fabulous quires. Each foreign leader was escorted by military men to the residence of the Çerdon prime minister. Once they got to the fantastic government palace, they once again saw the flags of all Madrid Pact nations raised. Toussaint Chevalier, prime minister of Çerdoné, was at the door to greet each leader. |

Consul Richard M. Nixon gazed around the grand scene in front of the Prime Minister's residence, joyed to see the enthusiasm of the crowd waving towards him. A large smile burst across his face, which was now famous not only in Porcu but in Çerdoné and Canton Rouge as well, and Nixon gradually made his way up to the leader of Çerdoné. "Prime Minister Chevalier" Nixon exclaimed holding out his hand in a recognizable sign of friendship. "It is an honor to represent the Swiss-Roman Republic of Porcu here in Çerdoné today. I look to immediately getting down to business for there is much to discuss. I also extend my congratulations to you on your recent parliamentary election victory, well done..." After allowing Chevalier to respond, Nixon stood aside and waited for Canton's Jan Hooplek to introduce himself to Prime Minister Chevalier before he turned to Mr. Hooplek and greeted him as well... |

Jan Hooplek was amazed at the spectacle that had been set up for the Madrid Pact meeting. Just seeing the flags of all three nations, the throngs of cheering people, and the pure spectacle that something was going to be accomplished put a smile to the prime minister, who had neevr seen such a celebration. He immediately found Prime Minister Chevalier, and after walking up to him, he extended his hand and said, "Mr. Chevalier, I, Jan Hooplek, am honored to represent the United Provinces of Canton Rouge. Truly, you know how important these talks are, on a count of your meeting with Representative van Klaus." After introducing himself, and hearing the response from Chevalier, he turned to Richard Nixon, and cordially introduced himself, sating, "Ah, Consul Richard Nixon! It is an honor to meet a man from my country. Well done on your victory in the elections!" And after Nixon returned the greeting, Jan now awaited for the discussions to begin. |
