Çerdoville, Çerdoné

Toussaint Chevalier, Prime Minister of Çerdoné was eager to be the first foreign leader to meet with a representative from Canton Rouge. Canton Rouge was a semi-democratic nation- its parliamentary democracy and system of constitutional monarchy were promising in a world of authoritarian hereditary leaders. As such, it was important that Çerdoné was amongst the first to make contact with the nation. With the Treaty of Koenigsberg lurking to even further increase its membership, it was vital to see that another neighbor did not go down.

Çerdoné was eager to receive the Canton delegate.

Skies over Çerdoné,

Sitting in the private jet registered to the Canton Rouge government was their representative heading out to meet the people of Çerdoné, Lars Van Klaus. He was one of the many parliamentary members who favored opening up relations with the world, and because of his strong views on foreign relations, he was elected to meet the Toussaint Chevalier in Çerdoville.

Soon, the plane descended down and Lars managed to see the elegance that was Çerdoville. He was happy to know that soon, he would be meeting the leader, and the two could work out new foreign relations between themselves.

The plane finally landed at the airport, and after taxiing out to the respected area and making a complete stop, Lars stepped outside of the plane, eager to meet the leader. Therefore, he wasted no time in finding the limosuine that would take him to the capital.

The plane had landed, and Lars Van Klaus had just stepped off. The Prime Minister and a small group of ministers were there to greet the foreign envoy, from the neighboring land of Canton Rouge. As soon as he hit ground, he was greeted by a barrage of hands eager to be shaken, and then the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister shook his hand, and then said "Well, Mr. Van Klaus, shall we go on to proceed for business?"

Mr. Van Klaus replied positively. The Prime Minister and the Canton envoy both loaded onto a limousine, and were taken off to the Prime Minister's executive residence. After a short ride, they arrived, and exited. They made a swift trip to the conference rooms, and each took a seat.

"Mr. Van Klaus," Chevalier said eagerly. "I've called you here today to discuss matters of great importance. Recently, with your announced arrival to the world stage, I'm sure that you're country has been bombarded with diplomatic welcomes and offers for the future. As your neighbor, I'd like to help you to ensure that Canton Rouge doesn't become trapped by any of the various organizations into becoming something it does not want to be.

"Sadly, several countries in Europe do not have freedom. Many of them are ruled brutally by authoritarian monarchs- Canton Rouge, I've noted is different in that it has constitutional regulations and an elected parliament. Those who aren't absolute monarchies are fascists, or communists. And most of these rogue states have built up to form an alliance- they call it the treaty of Koenigsberg." Chevalier paused.

"I would like to personally offer you some alternatives to their grasp. Çerdoné, as a fairly large state in the world, is involved in multiple organizations. As our neighbor, we feel it is important to build relations with your country, and an alignment is something of a necessity, we feel.

"The first organization we'd like to discuss is the smallest. The Scandinavian Union is an organization for Scandinavian countries wishing better relations with their neighbors. Currently Pascoag and Yshurak are barred from the organization for their provocative governments, and Kasnyia is as well for being entirely undemocratic. Because of your nations constitutional monarchy and parliament, you qualify to enter.

"Secondly is The Madrid Pact, which is an organization created to counter balance ToK hegemony over Europe. We are an alliance of republics and democratic nations, and constitutional monarchies qualify for this as well. We seek to protect freedom, and counter-balance ToK domination.

"The third treaty I'd like to invite you to sign is JAUST, which is an alliance of a wide variety of states all over the world, is the largest alliance in the world, as I'm sure you know. JAUST has been in place for some time now, and has a varied membership base. Entering JAUST would place you into the arms of many, many nations, and gain a great deal of political power.

"I hope you consider these options before joining the Koenigsberg treaty, which I see you've expressed interest in as a nation. We hope that you instead choose to build up healthy relations with us and other moderate states around the world."

"Well, Mr. Chevalier, I must say, you do have a point. We had believed that the Treaty of Konigsberg would be ideal for us. But after what you say about the members being autocratic and absolute monarchies, we feel like the Treaty of Konigsberg may not be the best situation for us," Lars commented.

He thought about what he was going to say next, then added, "Likewise, we feel the need for an organization that we can feel welcome in. As you can tell, we do not want to remain unknown in the world, and though we may be small, I assure you, with a little time, we can grow beyond anyone's potential."

"Now then," he said. "First of all, The Scandanavian Union appears to be a well off local alliance that we would enjoy to be in. It would allow our nation, and the fellow nations of Scandanavia to focus on regional issues and not worry about foreign influence."

He continued, "Moving on to the Madrid Pact, I also believe that we would enjoy being in this alliance, not to counter ToK presence, but rather to be within a group of fellow democracies and constitutional monarchies. And after looking the articles over, I assure you, we will abide to all of them."

"Lastly, I also do believe we should at the soonest, join JAUST. Not only will that increase our influence in the world, but we may also be able to seek a better future within a large group that we can trust."

"Therefore, Mr. Chevalier, I wish to announce these intentions to you. I do hope that the other nations will respect our decision for this."

OOC: So basically, you don't have to worry about the ToK for me. Sorry to any ToK members reading this hoping I would join up.

OOC: Like I said Iggy, I do apologize for not deciding to go ToK, but that doesn't mean the ToK has to play the ignore card. Besides, it's more or less my alliance just needs a good alliance to find.

OOC: Meh, I don't mind that, Quaon. It's not the biggest alliance you join, but the one you feel like you belong in.

"We are pleased to hear your eagerness to join all three of the organizations I have proposed, Mr. Van Klaus. Immediately I can sign you into the Scandinavian Union, if you'd wish it. I can also guarantee you a spot in the Madrid Pact at this moment. I urge you to put forward your request for JAUST membership soon as well, as that is an admission-by-vote organization.

"From this moment forward, we are pleased to see Canton Rouge as an ally in the Madrid Pact and Scandinavian Union, and give our full support to any bid to join JAUST."

OOC: Oh, and after factoring in Flumes' Expansionist Colombia, JAUST outspends by 18 trill.

"That would be wonderful, Mr. Chevalier. You have my full support within the Scandanavian Union, the Madrid Pact, and I ensure you that as soon as possible, we will file the request to join JAUST," Mr. Van Klaus commented. He continued, "Now, I do understand that you are to be meeting with King James II, so if there is nothing left to cover, I will gladly depart so the two of you can meet in private. It was nice meeting you, Mr. Chevalier."
