IC- You cannot have it both ways. Either you end your participation in the war against Georgia, an integral component of the Russian Empire, which has authority over ALL orthodoxy, or your church remains an outlaw amongst its peers and is thus shunned by the Orthodox brotherhood. You can not honestly expect to be considered aparty to this celebration while stabbing the very same in the back with this war. Do not be under the delusion that you have any right to be afforded the same respect as others, regardless if you control your nation or not. -Archbishop Michael of Alexanderhaven EDIT- OOC- Heh. Didn't see NRE's post. Ah well. It still stands. :P |

I echo the sentiments of His Majesty the Tsar and my peer, the Archbishop of Alexanderhaven. Ukabeanans ought not to accept the heresy of their Emperor, and rebel against this man who has spilled the blood of their Orthodox brothers. His Holiness, Archbishop Epiphonias IV of all Cyprus |

"Ukabanea is a cursed land, and their people are cursed. If Ukabanea wishes to lift its curse, both church and state have responsibilities. That is to say, the Church of Ukabanea must renounce all heresy, and simultaneously the Government of Ukabanea must break its relations with Scythirus. This is the only method by which to lift the curse of Ukabanea, and until then, the cursed cannot be allowed to step foot on the blessed land of Russia." --Hieromonk Leontiy, the spiritual counselor of the Don Cossacks |

-The Combine understands the decision made by the Tsar but we must inform you that we will continue our campaign in Georgia. We also very much resent the remarks as calling our land "cursed" and our people "cursed" made by Hieromonk Leontiy. The Combine also intends to stay allied with Scythirus and all other nations that oppose Georgia. -Emperor Michiel Alexander, The Golden Eagle of Ukabanea |

It is understandable that the Combine cannot fight for Georgia's independence, as she is surrounded by the two vile states of Nag Ehgoeg and Scythirus, but she could, at the very least, stay neutral, and refuse to shed the blood of her brothers. There is no rhyme nor reason to the so called "Golden Eagle's" policy. His Majesty, King Constantine I Monomachus |

For what reason would you wish to betray your Orthodox brothers. For riches and land? Friendship with heretics? A meaningless prize, for upon death you come with nothing but your soul, to be judged by God for your actions against your brothers. We echo the statement by the Cossacks and believe you to be cursed by your love for evil. Archbishop Michael of Alexanderhaven |

-Then tell me why so many nations flock to the side georgia when they will surely be crushed by the forces of my allies. Why would the russian forces not pull out when they had the chance to? Why would they continue this meaningless defence of such a small area of land? why is this? it is because of what they belive in and as they belive in the defence of georgia as do i belive in the conquest of it. -Emperor Michiel Alexander, The Golden Eagle of Ukabanea |

Let it be known that Michiel Alexander is an unabashed hater of Christ and of humanity. Let it be known that, should he set foot in any territory governed by the Kingdom of Cyprus, he shall be summarily executed as a war criminal and apostate. His Majesty, King Constantine I Monomachus of Cyprus |

"Because they believe in Christ. Because they believe in the good government of the Earth. Because they beleive in the defense of the Faith and the faithful. We as Orthodox Christians pray that Our Lord 'grant victory to the Orthodox Christians over their enemies.' We pray also for the victory of the Emperor over the barbarians. Every Orthodox Christians has prayed these prayers in the liturgy since ancient times. It is contingent on all baptized to at the very least, not aid the barbarians. "It is for these reasons that all nations loyal to Christ and the Church support Russia in this endeavor. Tell us now, why does the apostate king Michiel Alexander believe in its conquest?" - Theophylect, Archbishop of Syracuse |

By what right do you think you can conquer such lands? Because you call yourself the Golden Eagle? Your ignorance is truely remarkable. Alexanderhaven, a small state with no care for empire and conquest, could easily defeat you had the battle been just between our two states. Thus, do not operate under the delusion that you are a cnquerer. You are nothing more than the puppet of Scythirus, a vassal state useful only to act as fodder. You should have resisted, atleast then you would have died as martyrs, with the respect of your orthodox brothers, rather than be considered cowards, who will die dishonorably. You think Scythirus will keep you. Scythirus will dispose of you as soon as you are no longer useful, which will come at the conclusion of this campaign regardless of the victor. You will fall like the dogs you are. You dare address this body while you challenge its collective sovereignity. I shun you and the bretheren of your cursed 'Combine'. - King Tobias III of Alexanderhaven |

-Is it not wrong for me to want the expansion of the country that i love? For it is the thing that all mortal men crave no matter how much you deny it. As it is that you have done me diservice today the lives of innocent christians shall perish for it. Their deaths will be as meaningless as the country they fought for. This i can promise you. -Emperor Michiel Alexander, The Golden Eagle of Ukabanea |

It is wrong. To attack your brothers in faith is a most sinful act. And again, you are under the delusion that you will gain anything from this. You will not. You will, as I said before, be considered nothing more than a vassal state. You will conquer nothing. You are already conquered by Scythirus. You have made it abundantly clear that they are your masters, that you worship their so-called 'god-emperor' over Christ. - King Tobias III of Alexanderhaven |

"And thus you reveal yourself as a heathen. All your pretences of Christianity are set aside and your show that your true subject of worship, your idol, is simply raw power. It will be a fitting punishment when Scythirus no longer needs you." -Theophylect, Archbishop of Syracuse |

"Your love for your country is wasted; your country is meaningless. As God is like a Great River, Ukabanea is like a drop of water. Does a man who drinks from a River kill for a drop of water? Likewise, if you know God, you will not kill for your worthless country. Ukabanea is meaningless compared to the timeless and eternal glory of God. Instead, join yourself to the Will of God as the raindrop joins with the River. The Hand of God is arrayed against your mortal allies, who are like dust compared to the Timeless and Immortal Will of God." --Hieromonk Leontiy |

-I do not speak of the conquest of your countries i speak of settling the land east of Ukabanea. This is the reason i have invaded georgia, so that i may have the support of the surrounding countries when ukabanea begins its expansion east. In a attempt to prevent my country from becoming landlocked. -Emperor Michiel Alexander, The Golden Eagle of Ukabanea |

-Georgia is a worthless piece of land with no strategic value at all, even attempting to defend such a place is monstrous feat. "Once again the pretend dress-up Emperor Michiel Alexander shows that he has no care for Christianity or righteousness but is a slobbering hound greedy for power and slaves. May God grant us the mercy of this man's death. But such things irrelevant. Let us turn our attention to the gathering of the righteous." - Theophylect, Archbishop of Syracuse OOC: Everybody, please try to wrap up this argument. OOC: I don't think so because the tangent draws very clearly from the original topic and there is not a good place to cut it off cleanly. Also it is mostly IC, and putting it in another thread would disrupt readability. I don't think it should be split at this time, but if another moderator has a different opinion, they can do as they see fit. |
