OOC: I know that this castle was completed in the 14th century, but is was a good spot to have a castle and mine isn't nearly as nice as this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golubac_fortress Lord Bojan Kresimir[/big][/big] Posted Image Bojan Kresimir was the son of a minor Serbian noble, and his only claim to fame is his recent military victories against Byzantine forces who wanted to take control of the rich Serbian gold mines. Of course his rising power earned the jealous eyes of the more powerful Serbian lords, and they forced him to the inland frontier, to fight against the wild tribes and other power-hungry lords, who's eyes wander over towards the gold mines of Serbia. Population 58,850 people are under the control of Lord Bojan Kresimir Posted Image The Standing Army of Lord Bojan Kresimir http://members.aol.com/balkandave/wbmedivl.htm (I know this isn't the most historical site but its good for our RP) Infantry Spearmen 843 Armed with a spear, a shield and light armor. These soldiers are light compared to their western counterparts, but in the mountains of the Balkans they provide the main battle line for Serbian commanders. Infantry 471 Armed with a sword or axe, a shield, a few javelins and light armor. Unlike their western counterparts, they are light and mobile, they move quickly around the battlefield. providing support where needed Archers 551 Armed with bows, they provide the disrupting fire to help break enemy formations Cavalry Noble Cavalry 361 Much like Boyars, they are armed with bows and lances. Mercenary Knights 142 The wealth from the gold mines allowed Serbians to hire Western Knights to complement their own cavalry. Total: 2,840 Edited by Menhad, Jun 8 2009, 02:45 PM.

OOC: The current game year is 1001, so those events should not be specified in your history. As the game unfolds, we will have the opportunity to write the history of the region which does not necessarily follow the events of real history. |
