Map of Transylvania

Here is the tentative map of Transylvania.

Later I'll add geographic features such as terrain, vegetation, etc.

I added locations of players that I could discern from their character descriptions; correct me if I got your location is incorrect. All others can tell me their locations on the map and I'll update it.

Can I get a Castle near the Serbian-Transylvania border?

If your character is Polish might it make more sense for him to be in the north, closer to Poland? (Just a suggestion; no pressure)

The Malkav are the lords of the town of Sighetu Marmatiei, Máramaros, and its surrounding fields, and reside in a fortified manor (keep) within the town. Sighetu Marmatiei is a few miles from the RL Ukranian border.

Are you going to mark your own knight anywhere on the map, TC? Also, I notice that this updated map doesn't have the map key the other one had. The reason I point that out is that I was thinking that currently, Radu's seat isn't a castle. The hill of Saint Peter (Sanpetru Hill) is a walled town in a valley. As we begin, Radu is overseeing the construction of a basic stone castle into the side of a nearby mountain and cave complex. The castle is slightly southeast of the town, in the Poiana Ruscă range of the Carpathian mountains. The castle is called colloquially the Eagle's Roost, referring to the Eagle sigil used on Radu's Arms. Radu uses the eagle to emphasize his claimed Roman descent.

I'm going to enter the game as an errant knight, and then settle down somewhere as the game proceeds.

I took out the key temporarily but accidentally forgot to put it back; it will be restored in the next update. Good point about your landmarks; I will later edit a more detailed key specifying the castles, towns, monasteries, and other such landmarks in more detail.

Ok great :D On the next update include my fortified town and the castle (though it is still in progress). There are probably some peasant villages surrounding, though I don't know if those would be marked or simply assumed. When I work out the church-related RP we discussed over MSN, I will likely eventually found a monastery.

Ok. I think I will include fortified towns but not unfortified settlements, since peasant villages might be seasonal in nature, and are frequently shifted by events such as repopulation decrees, exhaustion of the land's fertility, or warfare.

Excellent. Perhaps towns that have importance either for fortification, historical significance (as the RP develops), or strategic or economic significance can be marked, as well as any true cities that emerge, whereas lesser towns and villages remain unmarked for the reasons you specified.

Some additions to my landmarks: In addition to Sânpetru Hill and the Eagle's Roost, there is also Deva at the location of realife Deva, Romania. It includes walled districts on both sides of the river, as well as a bridge with towers on either side, called Deva Crossing. So it is up to you whether to mark it as a walled town, a fortification/castle, or mark both.

Looks wonderful :D One nitpick. Is there a reason that you put Deva Crossing so far south of the river? The town is supposed to be on the river, with the fortified bridge. Or did you place it further south intentionally (if so, please tell me the reasoning)?

I made another minor update. I discovered a mistake in the location of Deva's crossing; it should be correct now.

EDIT: RD- I caught it.

Excellent :D Thanks! Are there any more rules you think we should get sorted out, or are things open for roleplay?

When more rules occur to us, we can discuss them. In the meantime, the RP can commence! :)

Damn, I just caught a mistake that I made when I described my locations to you :( Sorry for the trouble. The Eagle's Roost should be southwest of Sanpetru Hill. I said "southeast" earlier, but this is incorrect. Also, would you mind moving Deva Crossing a little to the east, into the bend of the river? These are little changes that you can implement next time you do a bigger update. Sorry to bug you with all the little changes... I just have these things laid out somewhat precisely in my mind.
