Ok, I find myself needing to raise £90k. Now... I have £90k worth of collatoral (yay me) so I can get a loan. If I get a loan, I'll need to repay £1100 a month. Hmm. My current income is £150 a month. Hmm. Getting a roomie for £~350 a month seems reasonable. That leaves a £500 shortfall. On minimum wage, I'd need to work twenty-five hours a week to get a sufficient income. I have, at best, ten hours a week in which I can work (very soon I'll be in my third year of university). So... getting a McJorb isn't going to cut it. Assuming I get work for ten hours a week, that still leaves a £300 shortfall. So... does anyone have any ideas how to make £300 a month? |

Ideas I like: 1) I'm out of stuff to eBay 2) Tempting 3) If I had a decent camera, I might do that. In fact, I might try that anyway. 12) Takes too much time for not enough profit to be an amature begger. 13) Don't get money for that in this country. Same for donating blood before someone suggests that. 16) I don't have drugs. 17) I don't have hos. One interesting thing that's come to me is taking part in a drugs trial. Or five. They seem to not pay too badly for not that much effort. 18) Dangerous Human Experiments |

I would, were it not for the human rights act of 1998. Now that act did a lot of good things (like legalise my favourite hobby) but it also did a lot of bad things (like give tremendous amounts of power to imegrants legal or otherwise). One of the bad things it did was allow kids of sperm doners to find out who their fathers were. Worse, it opened the door to make sperm doners responsible for their children (in that they have to pay maintaince if asked etc). So consider that firmly, completely, and in every way rejected. Unless you mean I should sell my rock star sperm to aspiring singers ("makes you sing better - like Rod Stewart"). |

This may sound silly, but why not play the stock market? If not, the greatest way to make money is tutoring highschool/college students (Pending on your degree of education and your age) Most math/science tutors make 20-40$ (Thar's Canadian) for 1 hour of tutoring, it's a great way to rake in extra cash. If you do 3 hours of tutoring for 5 days, thats nearly 450 bucks per week. |

A word of advice, Para-- Never ask why someone needs money if they don't give you the answer in their intro statement, you might not want to know the answer.
Why? Have you donated?
If I was hell bent, I could probably raise that much in record time, but I wouldn't give it to anyone yet alone someone in the UK of all backwat... *ahem* Nevermind. :P
No, but I have a way you can raise £15,000 in about the same time. Take some sort of mold growth stimulator and grow a moldy image of Jesus (or Gore) on a piece of bread, THEN you might have something for those on E-Bay. |

Human experiments will be the only feasible option that can raise this type of cash on short notice and with miinimal effort. Tell us what you need the money for. We can brainstorm more ideas for your situation. |

Unless the mathematical part of my brain is utterly corroded, that comes to 560 USD. ... You'd have to be smoking crack to buy that... |

On the serious side, I recommend entering the yo-yo industry. It's had its ups and downs ( ;) ) but in the end it won't leave you hanging ( ;) ;) ). |

Factor in cost of living (and assuming I'm making my money in the UK) that's $90,000. Current exchange rates and it's $178,000. Sperm doners being responsible for their children, bothers me greatly as well. Growing Jesus mold for eBay... doable. Kinda. So long as people don't look at my buyer history and find out the things I'm interested in :P Tutoring... possible. Very possible. If I tutored instead of getting a real job then I might be able to find extra time - if I'm tutoring Physics or Biology then that can come out of my designated Revision time. Of course I'm only 20 and a third year university student... so finding clients might not be easy. I'm really liking medical experiments. "Just working a lot" isn't viable as this is the most important academic year of my entire life. As for why I need the money... Let's just say my family and I made a poor "investment" in the property market (the UK housing market has been booming has just started crashing like it's 1929). We need to raise £90k to buy up the shortfall from partners pulling out - otherwise we'll have to sell the property at massive loss and huge inconvience. We're currently pursuing family and Family connections but it looks like Mr. Banker (Mister, please) is the only viable way out of this (other than cutting our losses). Which requires being able to raise a grand a month for repayments. I currently don't work or pay rent so obviously that'll have to change. ... Unless one of you guys would care to make an investment of £90k with a guaranteed return within five years? |
