There can't be a Mormon president. America is a Trinitarian nation, and a Mormon becoming president would go against everything that America stands for. |

Well, it's happened. Gentlemen, I have been predicting for some time that eventually, by the principle theories of Mendelian genetics that, at some point in time between my birth in 1687 and the Mayan Apocalypse of 2011, there would be a woman interested in joining our forums who wasn't immediately discouraged by our self-conscious man-talk. And so it is. As the most important (and least pretentious) member of our Glorious forum, I officially welcome you to our world, HG. I think that you'll find that although we're all inconsiderate bastards in regards to our nations' politics, we're actually a bunch of amicable fellows. Not that any of us will understand you, even that many of us have even met a person of your distinguished gender, I bet you'll fit right in here. If you don't want to deal with our rather skewed viewpoints, you can of course boycott the Off Topic. But I think you'd miss us if you did. We may be somewhat flippant, but its part of our charm, I assure you. ;) By the way, Mormons suck. Jesus was not from America, or whatever it is they believe. I really don't care who I'm being insensitive to, because assuming you're not me, i could care less about you. B) |

Amen! There needs to be some distinction between political elitism and civil rights. The two aren't necessary mutually exclusive. If they were put on separate axes, I would score much further towards authoritarianism, and thus the test would be much more accurate. And your position on elitism v. populism seems to be basically identical to mine. Some people simply aren't fit to have a say in how their nation is governed. It's a fact of life and it's the reason why democracy isn't a Utopian system. And hello HG! Welcome to the forums. I don't believe there was this big a fuss when An Najm was active, so I blame the new members. :P Long live the old guard! Anyways, welcome. |

Actually, I think the big fuss was just making amends for the rather frightening first part of this thread. |

HG, keep in mind that about half of the guys here have never even spoken to a female that was not related to them, so you will undoubtedly intimidate them much more than the other way. If that's not Aubrey Beardsley, then it is a knock-off - I am almost positive I've seen it in a collection of his work, but I might be wrong, because it is small. Each Republican candidate has a drawback: Huckabee because his Raised Taxes in Arkansas, and would not sign a tax pledge and is a Baptist Minister that scares me.. Guliani is a dem in elephant's clothing, plus he is too law-and-order for me. Romney is a Mass. Bullshit artist and a closet liberal. I could care less about his religious beliefs. McCain is the Manchurian Candidate. Thompson is clueless. Duncan Hunter is unknown, completely. Tancrado is a one-issue dude. Ron Paul, through no fault of his own, has too many wackos (like the Nazis) following him. My ideal candidate decided not to run, i.e. Newt Gingrich - libertarian enough, and a large-government hater. My other top choice that never ran is Jim Edgar, former Gov. of Illinois, but he has health problems ala Dick Chaney. I would have voted for Jeb Bush too. Or Whitman from N.J. Or Mrs. Chaney. Unfortunately, my only hope is that the Republican Convention cannot get a first ballot candidate, and one of the others I mentioned can sneek in. I pray to God that the Alan Keyes, Pat Buchanan, et al do not run as third party candidates because it will assure a Dem win who already think they have a mandate. Our current opponent as, citizens, that needs a big defeat, is the House of Reps. They are doing everything but their business. They are just passing more nanny-state laws and ignoring the real issues of the day! |

NH: I think most of the Buchanan crowd are supporting Ron Paul this time around, so I don't think he would run third party. |

Stop persecuting me. You know you all wanted to find out which user was the girl, I was the only one resourceful enough to do so and not be so coy about it. |

You guys are all just arguing because we DO have a girl on the forums now. Quit trying to act all masculine and strong in front of a new audience and WELCOME her like any respectable male should... ... Sheesh. <_< That includes you too Q, TC. Edit: And RD. |

ED, roll off your high horse and stay off. Go back to the greasy lair you came from. You are the one acting as if you were some strong, knight in shining armor type. There aren't any dragons around here for you to save HG from! And yes I am bitter because I am surrounded here by a bunch of so called "normal people" on the Internet who pretend they are so shocked that someone may be curious as to who is the one girl on the formerly all male floor. Oh, and I welcomed her too! |

I'm hardly "normal," as I'm the High Priest of the Church of Apathulhu, Dark Lord of Apathy. |

Jesus wasn't normal. Gandhi wasn't normal. Martin Luther King wasn't normal. A high priest of a dark cult is a normal American! |

And lo and behold, Quaon welcomed her as well. Sorry ED, you are 0 for 3 tonight. And FWIW, TC, I don't think many of here would qualify as "normal." We are quirky. So this is quirky forum. I rather like that. |

 I seriously cannot believe I am about to actually do this with you... First off... One question; Are you High? And I am not referring to horses in that regard, either...
With an attitude like that, you've just made yourself into one, everyone agrees your a scaly bit of a creature.
Scratch your bitter place and rub some sugar on it. It'll be a decision you won't regret.
"Proud corner of the internet." Nice... EDIT - Q's welcome was a bit more decent. I can accept defeat there, on the other hand, I think the score is still. 1 - 1 - 1. TC can go either direction. Hopefully, I'll beat him into submission. |
