Are you sure? Even Google maps doesn't show any White Castle Atlanta! I'll take your word for it, but still.... |

You must have had them from Krystal's. Interesting color-coded Wikipedia map on the subject: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Krystal...cations-map.png Besides containing useful knowledge, Wikipedia is also the fount for all useless knowledge. |

I don't think its that easy to mistaken an orange and red sign for a blue and white one... That chart backs up my sighting of one in Nashville, by the way. EDIT- Krystals is to White Castle what McDonald's is to BK; direct competitors. |

Well, BK and McD's are national, while WC and Krystal are regional. White Castles makes minihamburgers for the North, Krystal's makes minihamburgers for the South. White Castles vs. Krystals is similar to the Civil War. Krystals also has a eating competition which I once attended in Tennessee (though I did not compete) |

Where does Wendy's fit in? Is the pig-tailed goddess regional or nationwide? |

nationwide, I would think. I always thought of Wendy'sas the better tasting alternative to BK and McD's... |

Damn you for making me hungry. For Wendy's too, which means I'll have to make a move. ...I'll settle for the University grill as a compromise.. |

I've seen Wendy's in various places east of the Mississippi river. Also, I should mention that Wendy's and White Castles are both headquartered in my hometown of COlumbus, Ohio. White Castle has the shittiest headquarters possible, it looks like a corrugated tin hut in the middle of an area suffering from urban blight (the building itself is shaped like a white castle btw). Wendy's has a nice sprawling brick corporate headquarters ajacent to a golf course, but I prefer the White Castle HQ because it has so much more character. |

Intersting on the headquarters. I'll like to see them at some point. And I'm currently just west of the Great River. Am I screwed? |

Hmm, I'm not familiar with Trans-Mississippian cuisine. Is there any Wendy's out there? |

I looked it up. Apparently there is one like 14 miles north of me. Odd... I would have imagined that if they had one around at all they would have had one in St. Louis City, but I guess not... |

Wendy's is "semi" national. They don't have the penetraion of BK or Mac. I was aware of the Kentucky WC, but not the Nashville one. Bowling Green, KY is the only place I know of that has a WC and a Krystal's ON THE SAME BLOCK!! The greatest thing about WC is their alcohol-absorbing ability. They are open 24-7, and when driving back from the bars on the North side of Chicago it was always a tradition to stop at WC at 4:00 in the morning and load up. Sobered you up right away!! What about What-a-burger?? Do they exist in the East? I always think of them as a west-coast phenom, like I think of Culver's Butter-Burgers as a Wisconsin phenom. And we cannot forget my favorite full-sized burger - Sonic Burger - "Service at the speed of sound"! |

I haven't seen What-a-burger before, so I'm going to assume they aren't in the East, but I'm not 100% sure. |

Well as a Southerner born and bread can't say I've ever seen one of these Krystal's in my area. But somethings come an go around here quick in the demand doesn't come quick to businesses so we may have had one at one time, I really don't know. Personally I'm with Nag, I love BK. Other than the mom & pop burger joints I perfer, BK is one of my favorites. The only problem I have with them is there breakfast menu, sorry Nag but the King is going to have to work on his sausage biscuit to win this man over. For breakfast I prefer Bojangles, a chicken chain like KFC but better in many regards I believe. They have a chicken biscuit I prefer over most other breakfast foods save for maybe McD's sausage biscuit. For all your Fastfood choices my town has: -Burger King -McDonald's -Wendy's -Hardee's -Chick-Fil-A -Arby's -Bojangles -KCF -Church's Chicken -Taco Bell -Sonics -Checkers -Andy's -Domino's -Pizza Hut -Little Caesars And I think that's it. Of course we've got (what I believe to be) local places such as Cubby's and Merit's Burger House that are best for those who want to have one of those kinds of burgers you could get right off your own home grill. |
