So I'm eating a bag Hershey's minitures and I realise: American chocolate tastes disgusting. The normal Hershey's bars and the sweet dark chocolate tastes nice... until you get to this after taste that really does taste like eating dirt. European chocolate doesn't have that after taste. However, mr. Goodbars are nice. Choc full of peanuts which mask the crappy after taste... I can't think of any chocolate like it. Krackel's aren't bad either - again being pack full of crisped rice to take the edge of the after taste. But damn... that's some nasty chocolate skuz. Reminds me of how Mocolate is described in friends. Now I'm off to eat some fruit to get the taste out of my mouth. |

U.S. chocolate is one of our failures. But then, English coffee? Yuch! |

Ghiradelli is the only good brand of American chocolate. I don't touch Hershey's if I can help it. ..Damn, now I want me some Lindt... |

I don't much like European chocolate. I enjoy that Hershey's taste (that aftertaste is actually caused by the fact that Hershey's uses spoiled milk in its chocolate). It has a certain unique taste that European chocolates don't have. |

I am one of the rare people who appreciates the taste of virtually every variation of every food. I don't taste, I contemplate. |

It doesn't taste of vegtable fat. It does taste of spoilt milk. I'm surprised I didn't work that out myself. Not tasting of vegtable fat means it doesn't taste like Cadbury's chocolate. Which is the only "European" chocolate that sucks. That said, I tip my hat to Forrest Mars - taking his crappy American business to the Home of Friendly Bombs and producing a brand of American chocolate that doesn't suck. In the UK. Sucks to be the USA. |

Cadbury is to Europe what Hershey's is to the U.S. True enough. ...though I have an odd facination with Indian-made Cabury's chocolate. Oddly satisfying....must be the local ingredients.... |

America (if not Americans) is good at being rich. You would not believe the kind of money being tossed around down here in the States. |

The power of China, while impressive, is hampered by that country's extremely difficult region. Taiwan is toast, and Mongolia may easily be absorbed into China without a peep, but Japan, Korea, and Vietnam all fear China for various geopolitical reasons, and will counter China's growing power at every turn. As the US sinks from superpower status, it will lash out at China just as in the first LOTR movie when the Balrog, as it was falling into the abyss, lashed out with his fiery whip at Gandalf's leg thus tripping him off balance, perhaps by arming Japan with nukes. At that point, constrained by powerful neighbors, China will not be able to project its power beyond the South China Sea. |

All chocolate is good chocolate. Even the kind that has green and blue hairy fuzz growing around its edges and worms crawling all over it. |
