TC, would you happen to be ICWAS on PoFo? You have similar same political views and both are from Ohio.

Traditional monarchy is similar to a constituitional monarchy, but rather than being limited by a constituition, the monarchy is limited by other means (though, as you pointed out, the two may be the same thing as is the cae with GB), traditional to the culture of that particular state.

Well, that also overlaps greatly with autocratic monarchy. For example, autocracy limited by Orthodox teaching and local custom was the tradition of the Russian Empire.

It can, but does not necessarily have to. Also, prior to Peter the Great, that was not the tradition. It all depends on the era and what not.

Also the moniker of traditional monarchy is also used more when said monarchy is in fact limited, but ha no constituition. But that has nothing to do with the definition, it's merely the colloquial usage...

Just out of curiosity, what regime in history (if any) do you guys feel most closely resembles your views in action?

For myself, a more authoritarian New Deal America, but more liberal Iberian corporatist dictatorships of Franco and Salazar.

That was the tradition which Peter the Great attempted to undermine. Peter the Great attempted to subvert any and all limitations to his authority. But this is a tangent, so I'll end discussion here.

I don't think that is the colloquial usage of "traditional monarchy". Autocracy is the traditional form of monarchy in Russia, and it dates to even the pre-Christian times. Russia has known no other type of monarchy, and autocracy is closely tied to the Russian ethnic spirit.

Also, nationalism is often confused with traditionalism, but in actuality nationalism is a radical theory that is diametrically opposed to traditionalism. Nationalism is one of the three "Demons of Modernity" unleashed by the French Revolution - the others being Egalitarianism and Atheism (- metaphorically representing nihilism/moral relativism).

Nice chart, Paradise.

Thanks, it was made with the statistical program I use for my Master's research project.

Now if I can get more results, I'll gladly add them to the current chart...

Your political compass:
Economic Left/Right: 1.12
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 1.18

I moved a little further toward the right, but not too much. Still hugging the center it looks like.

No. Your furtherest left in the forum, now share that with your less fortunate brothers.
