That's a remake of the older thread. Don't forget to take the test: http://www.politicalcompass.org/test My last results are: Your political compass Economic Left/Right: 2.00 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.51 B) Posted Image |

Not a fan of that particular test. I remember taking it a few years back. No matter, I know my views. ^_^ |

-7.95, -1.34 I consider myself more of a corporatist than anything else. The problem with that is that it only measures on two axis, when the optimal political graph would measure on three (Political, Economic, and Social) |

The Political Compass is a "democratic" compass. Anyway, I know no one who would like to live in a dictatorship. |

I'm dead center, Paradise. Every time I take that test it buffets me around like a pinball in a two by two square area in the center of the graph. Put that as your stat. |

Your political compass Economic Left/Right: -3.38 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.62 I was expecting to have fallen a bit recently towards libertarianism, considering my current philosophical debates wondering if a government is even necessary, or if it is just a necessary evil to be watched very closely and held accountable for all of its actions. But apparently not. |

I did the test a couple times today with only a small variance. Here are my current results: Your political compass Economic Left/Right: -0.88 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 1.13 I suppose that would put me under "center" or one of the other center options. However, I identify myself as a traditionalist, a monarchist (well, actually I sympathize somewhat with Archduke Otto von Habsburg's "I am often asked if I am a republican or a monarchist. I am neither, I am a legitimist: I am for legitimate government. You could never have a monarchy in Switzerland, and it would be asinine to imagine Spain as a republic."), and a reactionary. I tend to sympathize with the right more than left, and with the old style European monarchies in particular. So where should I put myself? Right? Center-right? Extreme-right? Somewhere else? |

I'd say center right. I too have monarchist sympathies, but then again there are such things as liberal monarchies as well, so just your preference of government alone shouldn't sway you. |

Thanks for the suggestion Kas. Though, I am going to wait for Paradise's answer, since it is his poll, so I want to make sure I give the right response for him. |

Economic Left/Right: 2.75 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.13 The person whose closest to my views is probably Paradise, actually. I consider myself a centrist, but I guess I lean slightly to the right. Some questions I answer sort of bias my score: I think that there should basically be universal healthcare, but if you can afford better go for it, for example. |

Center, dude. Economically or socially, you are not rightist enough to be a Conservative. I would qualify you as a "Monarchist Liberal" (there are plenty of those in Ontario). |

Thanks Paradise. I put myself down as "Center" as you suggested. Though in American politics, I generally follow the Paleo-conservative ideas. In general though, I am rather uncomfortable with the American political framework. |

Paradise, where would you place me? I'm pro-democracy. While I think that the masses are not informed enough, I also believe that the possibility of a bad monarch is worse than this (however, I would prefer a strong liberal monarch than tyranny by the masses-for example, if I lived in Saudi Arabia, I'd rather have a King who believed in secuarlism and the like than a democracy. I think that Constitutional Monarchs should be gotten rid of, since they are essentially a waste of money (again, I'd prefer a strong monarch who actually does something over a monarch that is essentially a rich welfare recipient). |

traditional monarchy over autocratic or constituitional variants (though of course, constituitional over autocratic). As democracy, in community and society, but as apart of the government's actual structure...case by case basis....or not at all... |

Economic: 1.75 Social: 0.67 Where should I put myself - center or center-right? Economically, I'm against modern forms of capitalism because I believe materialistic values system represented by capitalism threatens the spiritual health of man and society. I'm especially against profit-driven, multinational corporations. At the same time I am totally against the values system represented by socialism, because I don't believe in equality. However, I do insist on humane treatment of the "lesser classes" of mankind, and I believe that the "socially superior" classes of society (the more intelligent, the wealthier, etc.) have a great duty to protect the lesser classes of people. Politically, Im a legitimist like RD. I'm also anti-democracy and pro-oligarchic republic - specifically for the US, I propose voting limitations based on religious views and wealth. Other random political views: I am against capital punishment. I am against legalization of drugs.
How do you define "traditional monarchy" as opposed to autocratic/constitutional monarchy? In the UK for example, constitutional monarchy is traditional. |

You're a liberal. Though if I had to compare you to me, you'd be a "traditionnal liberal" and I'd be a "libertarian liberal". We technically could be in a same party. |
