As this project has taken on a life of its own, I am making two separate threads to keep cohesion to what the hell it is I am doing. The first thread I made will be used strictly for keeping you updated on progress, post screenshots, and for answering questions. This particular thread will go in-depth of what may be required of you to allow me to complete your nation to its fullest. The detail is immense, so I ask of you not to be deterred by this massive undertaking. Remember; It may be hard for you, but its a helluva lot harder for me -- and I am loving every second of it. B) So read below! Let us get started! Those of you whom have already submitted their nations statistics need not post unless they feel they should. Otherwise, I can always ask them on MSN / AIM / PM about any information I may need later. Posted Image How to prepare your nation for creation: THE POLITICAL SPHERE The simplest of all the aspects of the game, political sphere includes the makeup of your country, its laws, its Government type, its political parties, and the like, as well as its foreign relations and treaties your mother nation may participate in. Lets begin; You can customize your nation using the following guide below. Those who wish to make changes can repost their requests to be added into the NSWR Mod in this thread. It is not a requirement, however. Owners of Nations queued for development are subject to questioning via PM if more information is required. Name of the Nation: (The name of your nation) IOC Code of your Nation: (Three digit acronym of your nation, i.e. USA, CHN, RUS, GBR are all examples) Capitol City: (The de facto or de jure seat of power in the Nation) Voting Age: (Cannot be changed, however defines what age people are allowed to vote -- This is required regardless of Government type or Anarchy, cannot be under 13) Government Type: (Includes being a Multi-party Democracy, Single-party Democracy, Monarchy, Communist state, Military Dictatorship, Theocracy) Internal Laws: (Includes Allowing/Disallowing Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Demonstration, Woman Suffrage, Child Limit, Contraception, Abortion, Child Labor, Polygamy, Gay Marriage) Corruption Level: (How corrupt your Government is to its own ideals on a 0% to 100% scale) Border Laws: (Includes Allowing/Disallowing Immigration or Emigration) Political Parties: (Parties can be named to your choosing. Must be more than one for Government type purposes. Please specify which one is the ruling party and what their political ideology may be. The ideology scale is; 0.0 ultra leftists and 1.0 ultra rightists. It may be anywhere in between) Flag: (Your nations banner. Preferably a large one will do, but this is not required) Diplomatic Relations: (What is your relations like with other nations? Please specify whom your on good terms with and whom you are on bad terms with) Treaties: (What treaties are you part of and what is their primary purpose? Is it a military alliance, or an economic partnership? A cultural exchange? Specify) Political Approval Rating: (Defines how much of the population support your current regime) Government Stability Rating: (How stable your Government is, the lower, the more likely to collapse into hostile anarchy) Human Development Level: (Describes how well educated your people are, on a scale of 0% to 100%) Birth Rate: (Percent of babies being born in contrast to total population. Rarely exceeds 5% but may exceed 10%) Death Rate: (The percent of people in your population that die every year. Uses a 0% to 100% scale. Very rarely exceeds 5%) THE MILITARY SPHERE The second most complex part of the game, the Military sphere is interwoven into politics in the sense that war is unpopular and that researching Nuclear or AMDS Systems can have political fallout. Also, large militarized nations spend a lot more in their armed forces, and can have a negative effect on their economy. Shall we? Nuclear Capable: (Do you own Nuclear Reactors or other means to produce Nuclear weapons? Even if you do not have the weapons themselves?) Nuclear Weapons: (Are you armed with Nuclear Weapons? If so, how many?) Missile Shield: (This is essentially missile batteries that intercepts incoming Nuclear ICBMs. Do you have a functional Missile Defense Program?) Foreign Orders: (When apart of a Weapons trade or Alliance, do you allow your factories to construct vehicles for your military trade partners/allies?) Covert Warfare: (How many Covert warfare cells do you have? What is the name of each organization and how good is that organization on a scale of 1 to 4? Note: Covert Cells play a role in National Security. People rarely have more than 30 cells) Military Technology Available: (This is very complicated. Divided up into Ground, Air, Navy and Strategic. Below is a chart of all the technologies available for each. All of them are on a 0 to 10 scale. I will not hand out any technology over the level of 7, try to keep it realistic!) Armor (Ground, Air, Navy) Countermeasures (Ground, Air, Navy) Gun Damage (Ground, Air, Navy) Gun Precision (Ground, Air, Navy) Gun Range (Ground, Air, Navy) Missile Damage (Ground, Air, Navy, Strategic) Missile Payload (Ground, Air, Navy) Missile Precision (Ground, Air, Navy, Strategic) Missile Range (Ground, Air, Navy, Strategic) Sensors (Ground, Air, Navy) Speed (Ground, Air, Navy) Stealth (Air, Navy) As you can see, there are 12 types of technologies, as well as four categories (Ground, Air, Navy, Strategic.) Each one of these technologies can have a different value in each category. If you are a major air power, you will likely emphasize more technology on air power than ground or navy. if you are landlocked, you won't have any navy technology at all. Keep this in mind when deciding how to customize your countries military technologies. Thank you! Military Designs: (These are what types of vehicles you have in your arsenals. Can be real world and will be modeled accordingly. Just remember some vehicles in our game are better than their real world counterparts. Read chart below for producing your own units.) Custom Military Designs, you'll need a name as well as allocating technology points to the vehicle itself (read Military Technology above.) For example, lower end and cheaper mass produced vehicles will likely emphasize slow speeds, weak armor, weak guns and short range. Main battle tanks that will be your work horse will be strong in all of these fields. Some may be also faster for hit and runs while sacrificing armor or gun power. Keep these in mind when designing your custom units, especially role specific units. Types of Vehicles: --- GROUND --- Infantry Vehicles Air Defense Vehicles Mobile Missile Launchers Armored Tanks Artillery Guns --- AIRCRAFT --- Attack Helicopters Transport Helicopters Fighter Aircraft Attack Aircraft Bomber Aircraft --- NAVAL --- PT Boat Corvette Frigate Destroyer Attack Submarine Ballistic Missile Submarine (Dual-class, tied with Nuclear) Aircraft Carrier Anti-Submarine Helicopters (Naval Warfare Only) --- NUCLEAR --- Ballistic Missile Ballistic Missile Submarine (Dual-class, tied with Naval) THE ECONOMIC SPHERE By far the most complex aspect of SuperPower 2, and one that requires much fine tuning and micromanagement over a course of several in-game decades, is the Economy. You can adjust where your money is dumped (Education, Health care, etc.) as well as raise or lower taxes, interest rates, among other things. Lets delve... Income Tax Rate: (The percent of the Government Income Tax on the people) Infrastructure Level: (How well your nations infrastructure is, on a scale of 0% to 100% It defines the number of paved roads, seaports, airports, etc. the country has throughout its borders) Telecommunications Level: (How many people in your country have access to radios, the internet, television and the like. This is on a scale of 0% to 100% and increases your ability to gather accurate information on foreign nations' statistics) Population in Poverty: (The total percentage of people in your nation that live in poverty. This uses a 0% to 100% scale) Minimum Wage: (Cannot be changed in-game. Defines your "Federal" Law Minimum Wage) Interest Rate: (Defines your nations total interest rate in percentile anywhere from 0% to 100%. The starting default standard is 2%. Interest rate plays a role in controlling inflation and must be adjusted according to your economic health, changes must be made constantly and there is no quick fix or permanent solution) Resources: (Very complicated. Please specify which ones are legal, if they are public or privately owned. If private, please specify the tax rate, if any, on each particular resource. A Global Tax is a flat tax rate on all private resources, regardless of what type. Read chart below) Cereal Products Vegetables & Fruits (One resource) Meat Dairy Products Tobacco Drugs Electricity Fossile Fuels Wood and Paper (One resource) Minerals Iron and Steel (One resource) Precious stones Fabrics Plastics Chemicals Pharmaceuticals Appliances Vehicles Machinery Commodities Luxury Commodities Construction Engineering Health Care Retail Legal Services Marketing & Advertising (One resources) Also, finally, please specify which of these resources you are abundant in, which of these you are behind in, and which you are somewhere in between. Analyze your nations geographical location, if you are in the desert, chances are, your lacking wood and crops but abundant in Fossile fuels. Industrial goods depends on your infrastructure and/or interest in producing those goods. Please do not abuse this sector by making yourself a perfect economy, all nations should have some upsides and downsides as well as their middle grounds. Footnote Fact: Out of the 6000 things that are constantly changing every second with any single nation in the game, About 4000 of them are involved in economics alone. Most sectors are usually made of a single private monopoly. Government orders goods & services directly from these sectorial monopolies. Most of the time, the economic relation is between a private monopoly and a public monopsony, thus preventing the sectorial monopolies from using their market power. |

All right. Adding in Religions and Languages to a country will be one of the last things I do -- and for good reason. They play no major role or function in making the game/nation work properly, and are too numerous at the time being. Languages and Religion will be added in just before I plop down every bodies armies, which is by far the hardest thing to do. Trust me. You wouldn't wanna be there to see all I have to do with placing armies... :ph43r:
Don't worry, I'll make a little bit of everything at all levels of technology. Some shoddy ones, and some high tech "kick your ass" ones. Though I am not sure what to name them. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
Well, corruption in SuperPower 2 sure isn't a Good thing if thats what your asking. It can be painful to the Governments core functions and can also be expensive to eradicate. |

Normally, trade is handled by the game, however, trade agreements here on our forums will likely be portrayed as "Common Market" treaties in the game. It would make less sense to make it an Economic Partnership.
Essentially, I am asking you of major organizations in Nag Ehgoeg that handle Homeland Security (of the infrastructure and prevention of espionage, sabotage etc.) and/or foreign operations (of the aforementioned) The skill level is 1 through 4. With one being the lowest (Lower grade, probably solely mandated to defend the homeland) and four being the highest (Probably mandated to both protect the mother country and disrupt the affairs of foreign enemies)
Simple, missile damage is how powerful a warhead each missile is outfitted with. Missile payload is how many missile(s) the source, or launcher platform, of the missiles carry.
If you have the time, try looking up some ICBM MISSILES (Try to avoid actual bombs) at THIS website.
I'll raise it to 5% to take a middle ground. |

Still not entirely sure that what I've given is enough depth... but ok. Like the USSR had the KGB, Nag Ehgoeg also has one agency to handle everything well but excelling at nothing. That said... the USA has the CIA, FBI, NSA and DHS. That's four cells. The UK has MI5 and MI6. That's two cells. What the hell kind of a nation has upto 30 intelligence agencies?
Ah gotcha. I was assuming payload for the missiles rather than payload of the launchers. My bad. |

Everything you just mentioned are the Intelligence agency's, what cell's are refered to in the game is how many team's the CIA, FBI, NSA, and DHS have set up within their own agency. If you have to, think of the terrorist attack's during 9/11. Each of the hijackers were they're own cell operating under the order's of Al-Qeada. Al-Qeada itself wasn't the cell, but the organization and the Hijacjer's were the one's executing the mission. |

In essence, there will be a name for each of your organizations, and a number of individual "cells" that bear that name as well as its Veterancy level. Cells work in several ways; They can unleash an espionage mission upon a nations resources or military technology (which in turn boosts your own resource/mili-tech in the category you spied upon) as well as Sabotage (destroy resource production or mili-research,) assassinate political figures (does not include leaders,) acts of terrorism, and perhaps the riskiest and most difficult thing to execute, an attempt to start a Coup d'etat. Of course, among other things the cells could just sit in the said country and gather more reliable intelligence on their armies troop strengths, readiness status, as well as more reliable political and economic data. This is called "passive spying," and is next to impossible to detect.
Heh heh ... not to be a lazy ass, but all covert cells will start out in the mother nation to make my life a lot easier. It also adds unpredictability to where your opponent may send his cells next. You may never know you've been infiltrated. |

Ah I get you. Cells are operating units. Really gotta get around to playing SuperPower 2. And brushing up on my intelligence jargon. Also... it might just be me... but I've balanced Nag Ehgoeg based on it's power relative to what others have posted. I see militaries consisting entirely of 6s and 7s, I know Nag Ehgoeg isn't that powerful so I step down to fives and sixes. Regardless (and bear in mind I haven't played SuperPower 2) Nag Ehgoeg is looking horribly unbalanced and overpowered... but then so does everyone else so... I dunno, is this just me? |

Yeah. I tried to keep mine really balanced, but then I saw other nations whose militaries are quite hihg, when i personally feel they have no right to be. for example: Esternax Nothing against you man, just an anarchy should not have a military, let alone one composed soley of 6s, and 7s. |

I talked to E-D about this and it was approved. I will have a very small, very high tech, military as my nation is not an "anarchy" in the sense that you normally think of one, but rather simply a fully functioning nation with voluntary organizations in place of an involuntary government, and that includes organizations dedicated to defense, ie, a military. Don't tell me what my nation should or should not have. |
