MEETING BETWEEN MORROCON AND MADINA

It wasn't a particularly long flight, the landscape changed dramatically from the lush forests, mountains, and rivers of Morrocon to the plush arid plains of Madina. The Prime Minister had delegated that the opportunity to establish relations with yet another nation was now right and she sent non-other than her own Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ato Seyoum Mesfin.

The minister reached into his pocket and pulled out a card with several names and places of business interests within the country that he would need to know in order to conduct his affairs properly. Security was light, but with the world always involved with regional conflicts; his trip and arrival in Madina had gone relatively unnoticed.

After exiting the plan, several aides arrived to help the minister with his baggage and load them into several limousines. At that point, a dark-skinned man approached the minister; not African, but not entirely Arabic. The Executive Assistant, Urafiki Najub, extended his arms and they both embraced each other in a customary fashion.

"Welcome Mr. Mesfin, it is our greatest honor that you have arrived."

"No sir, you complement us too much, the honor is ours!" Mesfin replied while lighting up a cigarette. Afterwards they were both loaded into the same limousine and were driven across a military road towards the government district of the capital city.

"Right this way Sir, the Khaleefah has been wanting to meet you for so long. He has somethigns he wants to discuss" Urafiki Najub said as they arrived at the site and began to depart the limo. Urafiki Najub was really of African origin, however ever sicne the coming of Islam to his nation, the people began to mix and before you know it, people like Urafiki were born. He was happy, he was African in origin and the Executive Assistnat of one of the best nations on earth. What more did he want?

He led the Minister through the steps and the entrance then he led him to where the meeting would take place. It was obvious that all the reporters and journalists were forced out, no one was permitted to be in except those authorized to be there. He looked to his left and right and yelled out to the guards standing there "Intaliqu, Al Aan nibda al ishtimaa" As if they were robots, the guards quickly left their post, pushed aside the reporters and allowed the men in, then they closed the door and guarded the room. It wasnt very much guarded as in Madina, there was enough trust between the people that stealing was very uncommon. That and the punishment is the cutting of the hand, so barely nobody did anything illegal.

The Khaleefah was praying the Asr prayer and finished. He praised Allah and got up and gave a warm welcome. "Please sit down friend. How was your trip?"

Minister Mesfin was a bit exhausted but always managed to come up with renewed energy when it came to doing his job.

Very good, sir. I must admit I am a bit tired but nothing that should worry your imminence. I must give you my compliments about your judicial code and its enforcement. I find that nations with only the highest character can deal effectively with criminals or those who might try a life of crime.

Again, it is an honor to be here. It is my deepest pleasure to announce that the Ministry wishes to extend to the Holy Empire of Madina full diplomatic relations, trade consulates and embassies.

As you know, the world is an ever changing place and some nations have ever changing needs; but one constant is the need for friends. So, as a friend what more can the United States of Morrocon do for its friend?

He said while sitting down and drinking a glass of water.

While walking around the room, his back towards the Minister, he said"Giving us your loyalty is the most prized posscession a nation can ask for. You seem willing to give that to us. In turn we so will give you the same. We ask of you that you give us what you would give your own people, trust, loyalty, and encouragement."

He immediatly turned around and looked at him "Would you like some Arabian Coffee? It was just made fresh"

He took his own cup and drank. The Khaleefah, Alaa Al Deen, was a tall man, very tall and built. He looked as if he killed a thousand men, but yet looks so humble and kind. He had light shining from his face.

"Ok. I will give you your diplomatic relations, full to be exact. Trade is of course not an issue. We can always improve on that. An Embassy will be constructed once permission has been sought. However, I am looking for more than a friend, an ally. I am looking for a Brother. Someone who will have myback in times of great hardship as well as ease. Can you fulfill that for me?"

Mesfin was encouraged by what he heard, but at the same time was a bit troubled...even confused. He took a deep sip of the Arabic coffee, closed his eyes while reclining it had a rather robust flavor...perfect, but not Ethiopian. He put the coffee back down on the table and exhaled smoke from his nostrils while saying,

We do indeed request permission to establish an embassy in Madina, and of course you have ours to do likewise. However, I am not sure I am following you. Friendship, alliances, and brotherhoods. I, nor will the Ministry object to such a move; it is just that there is a question regarding your intentions.

It has always been Ministry policy that good intentions be established. Is there a nation that has offended you? We are always ready to help our friends, brothers, and allies; of course, we have a process we must undertake before going to war.

Alaa Al Deen just stared into his eyes. Finally breaking the silence after about a minute, he said "I am glad you brought that up. Yes, indeed we are troubled. I hope you do remember my father, once the great Khaleefah of Madina on teh sea, the Red SEa until his downfall. We would like it if oyu can help us restore to the glory of Madina.

I dont want to force you into something you cannot handle, however I am ready to offer you what yuo want, and return the favor, What od you say?"

There was a knock on teh door. A voice from the other side of the door said"Oh Amir Al Mu'mineen, I have an urgent messege from Ayoub Bismali."

"let him in at once" At once, the guy came in,headed towards the Khaleefah gave him the note. the Khaleefah read it, he was usually a fast reader, and it was written in arabic, however he took his time. Finally looking up, he nodded and told him"If need be, tell him to add more. Now, please no more interuptions"

turning to his friend"So, what do you say?"

OOC: RD, that does indeed throw a wrinkle into the mix...

IC:

Mesfin looked around for a moment. He could tell the Khaleefah had a since of urgency but Mesfin was still a bit hesitant to just sign on to an agreement that would put his country at direct risk...particularly war. Nonetheless...

The United States of Morrocon is eager to help the Holy Empire of Madina in her needs. Through peace and prosperity Madina should achieve glory.

However, it has come to my attention that the area you are referring to, the Red Sea, is controlled by New Madina. While both of your nations are mostly Moslem, New Madina is an Orthodox Christian government. Now technically, Morrocon's government is neither Christian, atheist, nor Moslem, but our country is mostly devoutly Orthodox Christian.

This puts us in a bit of a predicament. Now, these ties can be overruled should evidence of massive wrong doings be found by this government towards its own people.
