Alright, I did some calculations. I didived the worlds population by the land area of Texas. Basically, Texas could fit the entire world into it with a lesser population density than New York City. So, our populations aren't completely unsustainable. Unrealistic, yes, but not impossible. Now, any city would be turned into a bustling Metropolis in our model, but the principal remains. |

i don't think it's unrealistic, the worlds population by 2015 is supposed to be 25 billion, so If the setting for this was 2025 it could be reasonable. |

I can't remember what year that stat was about, it was either: 2015 2025 or 2050. |

Any who told you we'd have that population by any of those years is still a homo moronus. |

We will probably hit the stage where we will not have enough resources to feed that many people by then. Think of it this way, If the entire world had a lifestyle like the US it would take three more planets of earth like quality and growing capacity to feed and supply it. |

Right now, at maxinum effeciency, Midwestern US alone could feed the entire population of the world at adequate levels (not quite US levels, but better than the vast majority of the world). If push comes to shove, humanity will survive population growth for quite a long time. |

Yeah, I was talking about current US levels, but for the world to all have adequate food every western nation would have to take a hit in how it lives. Probably reducing our current levels of waste, and energy consumption until it is at least at 1/4th of its current state in areas like the US and in Europe. |

An extreme model projects an estimated 24 billion in 2080, according to Google. The more conservative models I found; however, project that number at 2100 and even as distant as 2500. So in other words, it's too early to tell. |

I did some calculations a while back. 9 and a half billion people in Kiensland's relatively meagre area means the average population density is roughly that of Monaco. Fun times. |
