OOC: Ok, sounds cool. IC: After he returned from his trip to Lyons, Lord Dalassenos immediately was briefed on his new mission. As a trusted associate of the Regent, Prince Cyril, Duke Simeon had become one of the Emperor's most important diplomats. A warrior and a diplomat, the two went hand in hand it seemed. He was allowed to spend a night in Damascus, and then he boarded the next plane for Addis Ababa. This mission was very important for the Empire. Whereas relations with the Catholic CNNP had been cordial, those relations had become tensed due to CNNP participation in the Tenth Crusade, until the Imperial-Crusader alliance. However, now that a native Ethiopian Orthodox state had been reestablished, the Emperor and the Regent hoped to conduct a close alliance. Recent events had made it seem that the Orthodox faith would prosper, and the Emperor did not wish to squander this opportunity. After arriving in the capital of the United States of Morrocon, Lord Dalassenos was escorted to his accomodations, and he anticipated his meeting the Foreign Minister and the Prime Minister. |

Both Prime Minister Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf and Foreign Affairs Minister Ato Seyoum Mesfin waited at the airport for Lord Dalassenos. The air traffic control tower soon received word on the incoming flight and alerted the two leaders. After the plane had landed, Lord Dalassenos exited the plane and was embraced by the Prime Minister. After sharing a few words, Mrs. Sirleaf invited Lord Delassenos to a complementary tour of the country and offered him a stay in one of the presidential palaces so he could be well rested for the meeting, knowing he had just recently returned from a trip. |

Thank you and God bless!" Ato Seyoum Mesfin, Minister of Foreign Affairs |

"It is the Caliph's wish that a representative from the United States of Morrocon visit him at his winter residence in Riyadh. Current topics of import to the Caliph include the establishment of formal diplomatic relations, the situation in southwestern quarter of the Ogaden, and the Bab-el-Mandeb. He believes that such a meeting is of greatest importance if cordial relations between our nations are to be maintained." --Ibrahim bin Omar Al Kharashi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, The Caliphate of Paradise "Ayatollah Ghazir Zayd and Minister of State Affairs Mohommed Abdel will attend the conference in Addis Ababa on behalf of Al Araam to discuss the establishment of formal diplomatic relations." --Mohommed Abdel Minister of State Affairs The Islamic Paradise of Al Araam |

When the meeting had begun, Lord Dalassenos smiled and greeted his hosts, "Thank you so much for the wonderful accomodations and the warm welcome. I also look forward to taking the offered tour of the country. It is my wish and the Emperor's as well that we have warm and close relations with Morrocon. It has pleased the Emperor to no end to learn that an Orthodox state has been established in the former CNNP, and I have looked forward to this meeting." |

Ato Seyoum Mesfin: On behalf of the Prime Minister, the United States of Morrocon, and myself, we welcome your and your great nation to the United States of Morrocon. It is our earnest hope that we continue to improve upon relations with one another. With our mutual faiths in Christ, I know we can build on that. I think we both know that we are the minorities of the Christian world and with the Catholic Europe's future being uncertain, Christendom itself. While our nation concerns itself little with the affairs of the Genesian Catholic Church or the recent rise in Islam. Our Director of M.I.A. has informed us that there are some interesting developments going on with regards to Paradise and other Moslem powerhouses. This is a cause for concern for us. I think it is best we prepare a mutual defense pact between us. |

Ato Seyoum Mesfin: As you know, we would like to establish full diplomatic relations with our Orthodox brothers, Romania; we would also like to see a defense pact between our two great nations. There is also the matter of Isreal that we feel is a top priority. Prime Minister Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf has extended full diplomatic relations with the Republic of the United State of Isreal. No immeadiate problem in that except that we understand that our brothers in faith have leveled allegations of terrorism against Tel Aviv. I must be frank, MIA has concluded that the Zionists have a low level of state sponsored terrorism to almost no sponsorship of terrorism. Now, the United States of Morrocon will not be friends with any nation that openly endorses or engages in any form of terrorism - we feel that it is an injustice to the international community. However, Lord Delassenos we hold these allegations with a high level of concern. We would like his lordship to review the Isreali situation, and perhaps the United States of Morrocon can be of some use if there is a policy conflict between Isreal and Romania - in the interests of peace and our brotherly faith, we would be honored to provide any form of mediation necessary. These is the Prime Minister's agenda: an Orthodox defense pact, full diplomatic relations, and recognition of the United State of Isreal. I feel that his royal majesty will find Isreal more than tolerable, I have met him in person on a couple of occasions and he seems to have his heart in the right place. We urge you give Isreal a chance to prove themselves dear to the heart of Romania. |

Lord Dalassenos nodded respectfully. "I assure you that full diplomatic relations are our desire too. Consider them granted. As for the matter of an Orthodox defensive alliance, this is an excellent plan. It is the plan of His Imperial Majesty to hold a summit for all the Orthodox nations of the world in the near future, and we can then elaborate on this issue. Now, for the matter of Israel. "Allegations of terrorism are more than that, they are facts that we have witnessed with our own eyes. We saw how the rebel groups used acts of violence and terrorism to overthrow King Simon and force him to flee his own country, and create an illegal entity called the 'United State of Israel.' That this entity exists at all, and the full might of the Roman Empire was not put forth to maintain the lawful inhabitant of the throne in Tel Aviv was due merely to the mercy of King Simon, who sought to avoid further bloodshed amongst his people. For this reason the Roman Emperor does not recognize the 'United State of Isreal.' "But know that the mercy of the Roman Emperor is without limit; even as we speak, the Prefect of Jerusalem, Lord Isaac Xanthou, seeks to find an agreement with the rebels, and to bestow upon them the blessings of legitimate statehood. We do not feel that his matter should come between the Empire and Morrocon, for it is a little matter that will be solved soon, and we are brothers in Christ." |

Minister Mesfin was deeply moved and was more than pleased at the situation. Sir, the Ministry will be more than delighted by his majesty's decision to become Orthodox allies and his handling of the Israel question. We are most interested in the prospects of creating an alliance that would mirror what the Holy League once was. It was without a doubt an ingenious method of protecting its brothers in faith and kept aggressive pagan powers in check. I must be honest with you. Our government is secular, but the people are devout Orthodox. We still have a few hangovers from the Catholic regime, the Moslem populace is growing, even Judaism has established a stronghold in the country. This leads me to another matter. Sennar and Socotra. Sennar is Christian, Genesian Catholic to be precise. They are in a state of civil war with their Moslem brethren. So far the Sennari government has done little to quell this rebellion and has even allowed it to spill over into our lands, inciting the Shia Moslems of the Ogaden to take up arms against our troops. Then, you have Scythirus and the ethnic genocide occurring on the island. Those Sennari are Semitic as am I. We are currently in a state of war with Scythirus over the protection of those native peoples they intend on cleaning out. Yet, Sennar does nothing to protect its own people. Now, I have intelligence reports and I am aware that the situation is hopeless for our troops to actually win; but this is most strange. What are your thoughts? |

"Sennar is powerless. The way I see it there are two problems with two solutions. With regards to the civil war, as the instability can spread into your lands, it is important that the fighting be ended. Both our nations have Muslim minorities, and it is in our beset interests that Christian-Muslim violence be squelched whenever possible. I will petition the Emperor to aid Morrocon in any endeavor to end the fighting in Sennar. "As for Socotra, I suspect the best arrangement would be direct negotiation with Scythirus. The Roman Empire has a long memory, and we recall the Scythirians basing in Socotra long before Sennar was established, so we do not recognize the Sennarian claim to the island. However, Scythirus' action on the island is certainly atrocious. Perhaps we could strike some kind of deal to stop the massacres in Socotra, in exchange for recognition of Scythirus' claims?" |

Ato Seyoum Mesfin, glanced at Lord Dalassenos, then lit his cigar and took another sip of wine. The United States of Morrocon will forever be in the Emperor's debt in exchange for a peace resolution to end the senseless violence between the Moslem and Christians in Sennar. It has come to my attention that our nation is planning to send a peace delegation to Scythirus. It be our intention to recognize Scythirus' claim to Socotra, in exchange that the massacres stop. Again, your wisdom is paralleled only by your master's imminence. It seems that these days, peace is a word that is relative. In Kevukki and Madina, trouble is brewing. More so in Kevukki...we are concern and wish to aid you in enforcing your prior edicts. We believe that this could easily turn into ethnic cleansing and that we cannot allow. For far too long, Africa has not obtained her destiny as a forefront to destiny and this will continue a long and habitual cycle of blemishing this effort. |

It is imperative that this thing be brought under control. Too many nations are blasting each other and with so many troops confined in this nation, those words of rhetoric can easily turn into bullets. I think we should set up a timetable for the foreign armies to withdraw their troops and allow the cooler heads of Kuvekk to work this thing through. If such a deadline is not met, then with the cooperation of Paradise, Romania, and Morrocon; we will force them out. |

"Excellent. That suits us perfectly. We are already coordinating deployments with the Caliphate. Certain Muslim powers are already acting under the Caliphate's direction. Morracon may also coordinate forces with ours, and may use the Exarchate of Africa as a launchpad." OOC: I am going to let either you or Al Araam post in that thread, and I will follow the lead. |
