The explosives surriounding the town caught the front lines of the Sutekhite advance by surprise. While it was concentrating mainly in the south, the immediate losses had been felt. Those attacking from elsewhere still continued with their assault on the invaders. South of the town, the Sutekhite forces were forced to regroup and watch the field of battle.

Thus the viper assault began turning into something of a pair of daggers as troops marched from the northern angles against the Hispanics. Armor rolled into the streets of the town and Sutekhite soldiers began fortifying their positions in the urban sprawl. They were determined to see their enemy chased out of the border.

A tremendous plane made its way from Eleytheria-Duo and flew into Hispania controlled Airspace, on the wings of the massive airliner was two stars, red and blue, between them, a twelve rayed sun.

Beside the gigantic aircraft was a contingent of FS-1 Fighters, armed heavily with Air to Air missiles, and two small 500 lb bombs should they be needed. Furthermore, beside them, were smaller transports, carrying the supplies for GTO forces in the region.

The Pilot of the gigantic aircraft radioed Spanish authorities; "This is Eleytherian Flight One-Two-Two, do not engage, we are transporting supplies for your war efforts and need a strip to land upon, we are low on fuel and need a place to land," the man said, "requesting permission to touch down. Out."

The Antonov-225 had come a long way from Eleytheria-Duo, but finally, they had arrived within the region, very low on fuel.

The Imperial Regiment of Conakry has arrived behind Zeelaran lines and is awaiting orders. The remainder of the Imperial contingent is approaching from the south and is due to reach Sutekh in (RL) two days' time.

(Scy, don't mean to sound rude, but a huge counter-attack followed the explosions. If you don't tell me otherwise, I will assume it succeeded in punching a hole through your defenses.)

And the thousands of charging Spaniards immediantly after the explosion? Did they punch through?

I do apologize, I just read that and thought you were only speaking of the explosion, not the troop advance.

OOC: The rear lines still have their weapons trained on you (thus "watching the field of battle"), so you can charge if you want.

The explosions shook the earth, and terrefied the advancing troops from the south. Almost at the same time, thousands of Hispanic troops charged into the enemy lines, risking death. Thousands would die, but sheer numbers would prove themselves powerful int e end. The combined force of half the Hispanic force in a single area proved to much for the front line of the Sutekh line, and the Hispanic troops quickly broke through and began rushing to attack artillery positions.

The Sutekh troops continued to advance forwards from the East and West, as the stalemate in these two regions held fast.

But this was a dangeorus position. There was no re-do here. The Hispanic soldiers had two choices: Take enemy artillary positions on the ridge and push back the attack and perhaps reclaim the elusive green zone, or be surrounded by enemy forces and captured en masse.

The latter was not an option. So braving thousands of dead, bullets for all kinds, and enemy shells, the Hispanic troops charged forward, hoping that one single thrust into the dragon's belly might be enough to hold them off, for now, and bring in reinforcements. It was a time of honor, and as the men breached the first line and began tackling the ridge, it seemed a time of victory. They had been retreated since the begginning of the war, perhaps now it was time to advance.

The Southern support forces had finally made it to their destination. They were now behind the Sutekh forces of the south and General Morgan was eager to met their commander. The area for which the Zeelar soldiers were trying to invade look gravely scared from the battle and the Confederate troops knew there was still a fight to be fought.

The Confederate troops making the trek to the Northern theater were now about an hour away from the battle LG Woods pressed his soldiers on as they travel through the sandy Sutekh country side on their way to the battlefield. Though the soldiers were tired of marching they weren't about to take a break. They were ready for battle and couldn't wait to join the fight.

The Imperial Regiment of Conakry coupled with fresh Zeelaran troops, as well as a great deal of new foreign built armored vehicles, began to make their advance. As well as with the continued bombing and artillery fire, the Zeelarans took up a new tactic.

The first waves of foot soldiers had visible gas masks. Though chemical warfare had been banned from war long ago, CS gas was a common law enforcement material known as "tear gas" and could be used in combat...in a bit of a legal gray area. Thus, CS grenades began to be lobbed along with the artillery in what would seem to be a throw back to WWI.

The rear lines of the viper attack on Hispanic positions in the southern portion of advance appeared a bit unnerved as the enemy troops just climbed over their dead to attack. It was a surreal sight for the Sutekhite soldiers to see where the mortal coil was seen as a sacred thing to keep intact so that one may live forever in the afterlife. This blatant disregard for fallen allies shocked them. Shaken they may have been, they still blasted apart the advancing hispanic lines, coating the land in blood.

North to this, the Sutekhites stabbed their way further into the occupied town and broke apart the Hispanic rear defenses. The town was to be fully reclaimed from their enemies. While the last ditch effort by the Hispanics cought this southern advance off guard, they had still managed to let the Sutekhites to effectively surround them.

Down in the other front of the war, in the southern border of Sutekh-Te-Ankh in Ramatan, the Sutekhite armies had managed to be driven back by the Zeelarans for the first time in the war. Morale was almost lost as warfare began to enter the streets of Ramatan. However, with the arrival of the Seceded South's army, hope was beginning to rekindle.

The Confederate troops were gratefully welcomed by the Sutekhites and then quickly briefed on the situation: The Zeelarans had broken through by napalm strikes and other chemical warfare. Ramatan was in danger of being lost. The Zeelarans needed to be pushed back again.

Ramatan

The Imperial forces were not here to play nice. The 10,000 soldiers of the Imperial Regiment of Conakry were immediately sent to this crucial border town to help the Zeelarans where they needed it most. The enemy was stubbornly refusing to lose hold of the now ruined village. And now they had Confederate allies. All this was taken into account by Imperial forces. They didn't know or care what made Ramatan so special that the Sutekhites were willing to die in droves to hold it, but they were about to negate that crucial factor, by any means necessary.

No rules of engagement applied here. Imperial soldier infiltrating into Ramatan were ordered to shoot the enemy on sight, without asking questions. Although that order did not specifically extend to civilians, it was easy enough to claim that a noncombatant was mistaken for a hostile, especially with the angry Sutekhites vocally decrying the invasion. Even women and children were threats until proven unarmed. In the heat of battle, the Imperial troops decided to err on the side of safety.

In urban warfare, sheer numbers count a lot less than individual skill and tactics. The Imperial soldier; armored in light-weight, flexible, yet highly durable level V body armor, armed with XM8 rifles, and equipped with special 7.62x55 mm armour-piercing incendiary (API) rounds; was individually one of the best on the battlefield. And they left nothing to guesswork in tactics. Squads went out in controlled waves, slowly taking over the city block by block. The majority of the force was kept in reserve, ready to be quickly deployed to hotspots. They didn't intend to leave Ramatan in the same direction they came in, regardless of how many died.

Following the lead of the Imperial forces, the Zeelaran troops readied themselves in flexible body armor, switched their style of camouflage (which for once in the war was uniformed) and armed themselves with a close range weapon - the SaIGA 12 type modern shotgun.

However, these troops not only entered the city from the opposite end, but wore gas masks. No longer was CS gas deployed from shells, but rather canisters launched from SWAT team inspired gas grenade launchers. Blanketing city blocks with layers of the noxious fog, they formed assault teams and began to, regardless of losses, attain portions of the city bit bit.

As the fine portions of their vehicles remained engaged on other fronts, the ragtag remainders of the second assault had again been fitted and patched with what bits of metal were found around and were armored with even more scrap. While sorry looking, they began too an entrance into the city.

"Dammit!" The pilot of the An-225 shouted after looking at his fuel gauge, there was no reply coming from any authorities, and they were running dangerously low on fuel. The massive plane simply could not land in this terrain without damaging herself, they needed to turn back to Sahndaq, their allies territory.

One of the operators working the An-225's radar had only one comment about the silence of their supposed GTO Allies; "If these bastards wanted our help, they should have had the courtesy of giving us permission to land! This isn't even our Goddamned war in the first place!"

The captain sitting in the cockpit quickly put him in his place; "We are here because we were ordered to assist these people by our President! You are in no position to question those orders, lieutenant! Now shut the hell up!"

Flying over open airspace, they made their way close to the Sahndaqi border when the Instruments began to cry out wildly, the captain quickly looked down, next to his fuel gauge, a light was blaring wildly. "Ahh, Christ!" he said with a terrified look on his face; "We aren't going to make it! Radio the nearest Zeelar airfield, we'll unload the supplies there and refuel."
------------------------------------------------------------
To: Zeelar Authorities
From: Eleytherian An-225

"Emergency! Emergency! Eleytherian involvement within the region is in extreme jeopardy. Recent contact with GTO forces failed to grant us authority to land and deliver our supplies. We must unload this cargo and refuel or many soldiers lives will be ended.

If we are allowed to run dry on fuel, this action may be viewed as hostile intent by Eleytherian authorities, please allow us to use your airfields to refuel, our orders are to assist GTO Forces fighting in Sutekh, however we have had no contact with GTO forces at all since our departure. Many aboard feel they have been abandoned to die by GTO Forces, prove them wrong, good friends."

Urban combat was what the confederates were hoping for. They had learned their lesson in the Texardo war when it came to urban combat. The bulk of the Confederate forces made their lines just outside the settlement. Artillery was put in place as well as tanks, the men began to bunker in behind them. Then General Morgan began to slowly deploy the troops, in small Battalions of no more than 500 soldiers. All equipped with close combat weaponry as well as gas masks for fear chemical warfare.

Four Battalions of Confederates soldiers were the first wave to enter to city. With most of it in ruin, it was hard to find good spots for cover. Though a few snipers took the regular approach of high positions over the city, a few were order to take station within the storm drains along the city streets. It was a dangerous position for sure but could allow for several fatal hits before discover.

The rest of the soldier coordinated with their Sutekhite allies in taking key positions throughout the Northern parts of the city. These would certainly be key defense positions that could not be lost. As for the rest, they would begin the daunting task pushing the enemy out of the city. Though taking prisoners was a hight priority for the Confederate soldiers as they began to review their rules of engagement while slowly making their way street by street through the city, they also remembered the golden rules: Don't lose and Don't die.

It was going to be a hot and long day for both sides in Ramatan but as the Sutekhite God and the Confederate protestant god as their witness, they would hold their own.

The soldier were surrounded. They had managed to take the enemy's artillery position along the ridge, but lost the city. More Sutekh troops awaited down to the south, and the Sutekh army remained up north. There was only one option now. Life or death, they had to fight, on top of this ridge, and defend against enemy advances until help could come through. Already, aircraft bombed the minefields between the Exarchate and the Sutekhs. More men would come. Spanish honor was at stake.

Division C was small, 100,000 men. Of these, 23,000 had died. The rest huddled together on top of the artillary ridge. All 25 tanks had been destroyed.

But back home, Division B, the behemonth of the Hispanic military, an amazing 255,000 troops, 175 tanks, and hundreds of other vehicles crossed the Straits of Gibraltar into the Exarchate, and began moving towards the border. They would arrive to rescue their bretheren, and to restore honor. It had been a stalemate with 100,000 men until the pagans had help. Now they would be overwhelmed. Sooner or later, they would have to redirect their attention down south, towards the advancing Zeelarians. And at that time, the Hispanic troops would be up north, ready to rescue their men and get the hell out of the pagan desert.

The remainder of the Imperial forces have been diverted, ordered to march in the direction of Ramatan. They are within sight of the Sutekhite border, and will arrive at Zeelaran positions shortly (RL tomorrow).

The Sutekhite armies closed in on their surrounded prey in the northern town. A mighty slaughter would be executed that day, these invaders from the north driven out of their lands. Bullets grazed buildings and screams filled the streets as Pharaoh's legions took back what was theirs from the Hispanics.

A general on the urban field of battle was quickly radioed. He placed the walky talky to his ear. What he heard pleased him.

"Reinforcements from the Ivory War are on their way to your position," said a man's voice.

"Good... good," replied the general. "We have just started to recapture the last of our northern borders. With your help, we'll be able to hold it firmly this time."

"I was also ordered to tell you that numbers of Seceded South troops are being sent your way as well. The Exiled Kingdom shall stand protected."

"Yes it shall...."

Southward, the Sutekhite troops moved in through the streets of Ramatan on the heels of their Seceded South allies. Large numbers of Sutekhite reinforcements remained behind over the ridges, ready to hold their position or advance as ordered. While in Ramatan itself, the urban warfare was beginning here as it had already similarly progressed in Sutekh-Te-Ankh's northern lands with the Hispanics.

The Exiled Kingdom would not allow itself to be overran with outsiders.

Zeelar took the opportunity of having the Sutekh troops stacked up upon the ridge. They assembled their bombers, loading their payloads fully. They then found only those pilots who were truly ready to die for their country - most would most likely never return.

With this, and with fighter escort, and old fashioned carpet bombing operation began. Zeelar was not going to allow Suketh to maintain it's objectives.

Caronicilia

Caronicilia had finally withdrawn from the war in Northern Asia. Now that the conflict was over, Caronicilia was available to send long-promised aid to GTO forces in North Africa. Their attack would occur soon. Naval vessels were being loaded with men, aircraft were preparing for raids, and infantry were drilling for tropical warfare.

But why would they drill in tropical warfare if they were headed for the deserts of North Africa? The answer, in simple terms, was that they weren't headed to Sutekh-Te-Ankh. They would be heading off to deal a blow to their allies in North America, the bastards in the Seceded South. They had recieved warning not to continue involvment in the conflict already- which they denied. Soon, they would pay, as the isle of Bermuda would soon be stripped from them.

Satellites turned their eyes to Bermuda as troops made their way to the site of attack.

They had been losing. The past week was the worst in the campaign. A fifth of the original force was dead, captured, or wounded. But as GTO involvement grew, and the conflict threatened to balloon into another global war, Dr. Morales, newly initiated Secretary-General of the Hispanic state, knew he could not allow his country-men to die, and to let down his allies. Popular support for the war grew as news of the pagan's atrocities spread back home. Recruiting was up, and for the past week an additional 200,000 troops had been travelling across the Exarchate. Military vessels set up a base in the Azores to scan for incoming Southern ships.

The war was far from over. Zeelarian troops advanced to the south. Eleytherian and HRE troops were with them, along with a small division of Hispanics. The Caronicilians were proceeding to Bermuda. JAUST was debating involvement, according to sources.

It seemed a world war would indeed come, and it was to be born of the bloody deserts of North Africa and the icy plains of Scandinavia.

Dr. Morales called in the order. A missile strike into the capital of the pagan empire. SCUD missiles were loaded and ready. He gave the order, and they were fired.

Two minutes later, several missiles struck the capital city of the pagans, causing untold damage. More missiles srtuck the expansive minefields, clearing a pathway for incoming troops.

The war had escalated. It was out of his hands.
