While the fighters were finally brought down, it created enough confusion for Zeelar's premier air force to finally arrive. Due to the nation's very nature, Zeelar's military had any number of different divisions at any one time. Finally however the flagship division of their air force would have arrived on scene.

Completed with far more modern MiGs equipted with similar heatseeking missles to be launched onto air targets, they were finally able to tear through some of the divisions of Sutekh's sucessful air war.

On the ground, Zeelaran grenadiers began to replace the fallen soldiers that had been taken so readily by the well prepared Sutekh forces. These new troops, armed with varying degrees of grenade launchers, would slowly begin a process of 'bunker smoking' on foot while SaGIA 'modern shotgun' and AK-108 equipted troops continued to fight in a conventional way.

Wilmington, The Seceded South

It was a beautiful summer evening as the cool and inviting breeze flowed through the woodwork of the porch of the President's plantation house. Though outside it was like any other lazy summer night in the South, inside was a completely different picture.

Within the large meeting room of the President's home his entire cabinet, as well as the commission of the Interior had been called to the Mansion to discuss a situation far to their east.

"Gentlemen" said Secretary of State Jim Bragg "I have called this meetin tonight to discuss a situation that could perhaps solve an problem that has developed heyah in the south. As you all know our Negrah population is slowly declinin with plantation ownahs seein the lowest numbahs ever recorded. The fact of the mattah is, we need a new crop of slaves and fast. Luckily a situation has developed in Africa that could help us do just that.

The nation of Sutekh-Te-Ankh is currently engaged in battle with the nations of Zeelar as well as othah GTO membahs. Now we've gathahed information that in the past the Sutekh people have used slave labor for their own purposes and thus ah not totally against the idea. Theyah also an isolationist nation with no allies to call upon in such a situation as this. Though they ah not completely helpless, I fully believe that would not oppose the idea of nations steppin up to offah help.

Thus, what I would like to suggest to you Mr. President is that we send a few thousand soldiers theyah way, with ample air and armor support and help them win this wah or at the very least to enough damage to collect an ample supply of African war prisoners which we will trade with the Sutekh for our aid. We aid them, they give us the prisoners to bring back heyah as slaves. We solve theyah problem and theyah solve ahs."

With that a low murmur of conversations swept the room. It was certainly a daring plan and the President was certainly aware that the South currently had a fleet in the area which could come within air support distance of Sutekh-Te-Ankh within a days time. Soldiers would also be easy enough to rally and get transported to the fleet. After about thirty minutes of discussion the President spoke.

"Well if I have the support of my Vice-Presidium on this mattah, I would like to pursue this. We could certainly send enough troops, supplies, and weaponry to help these Africans without actually having to declare wah or for that mattah even acknowledge that we ah in the area. Thus if theyah ah no objections I'm going to use my executive privilege and activate the Georgian Army for this operation, at least a portion of it. Troops will be transported to ah fleet in the area at once and when they have all landed, the fleet will be ordered out to within striking distance of the nation. Mr. Bragg I will leave it up to you, to get in touch with the Sutekhite leaders."

"Yes Mr. President" said the State Secretary.

"Good, well then gentlemen, let the South rise again!"

Most benevolent ruler,

I am contacting you this evening in regards to your current war with Zeelar and their allies. Though the South feels fully confident that you and your armies are more than a match for the invading enemy forces we would like to strike a deal so as to provide for both our countries mutual benefits. We would like to offer to you the use of our armed forces currently stationed within your general area. Though our fleet is still out within the Atlantic, it is but a days journey away. We can have additional men, weapons, armor, artillery, and air power mobilized within your nations in little over 24 hours. In return for our services rendered to your great nation we would request that prisoners of war be taken at every available chance and then handed over to us as payment as we require them for economic reasons. We hope you will consider this offer and contact us soon.

Our Government will send 50,000 troops to assist Zeelaran forces as they are fighting the Sutekh-te-Ankhians. A total of 50 Leclerc tanks and 35 Mirage 2000 fighter jets will also be dispatched to the areas of combat to help Zeelar and our GTO allies confront the adversary. We hope they will be useful for our allies and friends.

The general overlooked the damages. One dead major. Two dead captains. One dead corporal. A wounded colenel, and a wouned major. And of course, the fourteen prisoners. He was sure there were more assassins sent, but they got away. He couldn't deal with the prisoners yet. The inner ranks were in chaos, as fear set in of the assassins. They needn't worry. Security was going to be tightened incredibly. No matter. It would never happen again. He signalled to the helicopter to take off, carrying twelve of the fourteen, and proceed to Hispania so as to imprison the assassins for murder.

The helicopter didn't make it far before a land-to-air missile was fired from the Sutekh camp. The pilot managed to escape, but the bound prisoners all died in the crash. Well, no skin of his nose.

Meanwhile, another contigent was being brought from the motherland. The GTO would not lose this war. They had been holding their own for five days against the brunt of the Sutekh army in this little hole, despite last week's retreat, and with only a fraction of the total military.

Meanwhile, Hispania prepared its SCUD missiles for immediate retaliation against any missile use by the Sutekhs. Within days, Hispania had missiles pointed at every major Sutekh city, should they ever try something drastic, Hispania could now retaliate. If they didn't elevate the war to missiles, neither would they.

---

OOC: NRE, the Straits of Gibraltar are closed to all military ships until the Red Storm is over. This was a combined Exarchate-Hispanic effort, which RD hasn't negated as of yet, so I'm assuming is still ongoing.

Any forces you send will have to land in Western Africa and walk, or go around the Suez Canal.

France, as a GTO member, I know I'd let you through, and since the Exarchate is also in the GTO, so would they. But I do not know what RD wants to do, as he cotnrols that territory I think.

Which means, RD, in so far as current agreements go, the Exarchate is only involved with allowing transport for troops. if you want to raise it up and send forces yourself, feel free to.

Northward, plans were being drawn once again to assault the Hispanic invaders. Following the wake of the assassinations, their morale would be weak and thus it was the perfect time to strike. The enemy base camps would be surrounded by infantry and armor, and close in upon like the prey to the jaws of a venomous snake. Enough soldiers had come in finally from the south, fresh from the Ivory struggle.

Maneuvers were put in motion, divisions directed north, other divisions directed east. Slowly, the lines would travel around the enemy and reach several important strategic positions. Death would reign upon their foes.

Southward, the airwar faltered to some extent, and the Ramatan forces had to begin making much more use of their anti-aircraft fire to even out the odds again. Gunfire was still exchanged by both sides, the Zeelaran groundwar making next to nothing in advance. The Sutekhites were a determined and stubborn guard, pounding them with artillery.

Knowing that they would be receiving new armored equiptment both from their own internal industries as well as recently ordered pieces, the Zeelaran Commanding Officers decided to take a gamble. To break through this lack of advance, the artillary efforts were redoubled. The afformentioned hollow rounds began to fly in droves to counter against the Suketh shells pounding their sides.

Between this, the remainder of their well running tanks and armored fighting vehicles were summoned up again. Behind these were the patched together remains of whatever the Zeelaran army could salvage. Absolute scrap metal was welded onto the sides, along with any other debris of war, to make make-shift but effective vehicles.

And in the dead of night, these pushed on.

Military mobile hospitals, along with the Red Ankh, began the evacuation of injured and dead personell to safer locations, bringing off those whom have been disabled or injured in multiple to be reunited with their families in Zeelar.

With the Pharaoh's blessing now upon them the Southern troops were ready for battle. The President had activated the First, Second, Third and Fourth divisions of the South Carolina Army. General Hunt Morgan was the Supreme commanding officer of the operation.

As expected it took the Southern fleet in the area, the Memphis fleet more than a days travel to finally get to the coasts of Africa. With the straits of Gibraltar closed, the only possible landing site was the area of uninhabited land North of Zingal. When the landing craft camp a shore it happened upon a small village of a hunter/gather tribe. The large landing craft frighten them beyond compare and even before the first Southern troops made it to the shore, they had all left.

General Morgan who was one of the first to make it ashore took a deep breathe of the African air and smiled "Ah yes I do believe it is a most perfect day for military excellence"

With that the thousands of Southern soldiers began to come ashore and form their lines. It would be a long trek to the battlefield but with their tanks and Stryker ICV it would make the trip a bit faster.

Southern aircraft including the revolutionary new fighter jet the Grey Ghost were already put to the skies and were on a direct course for Sutekh-Te-Ankh. There was very few aircraft in the world that could match the skill and power of the Grey Ghost so making quick work of the enemy aircraft didn't seem like a real problem.

The south would soon take down the enemy fighters and then begin bombing runs of the enemy lines. This would certainly hurt the advancing troops and give time for the Southern troops to make it to the battle field. It would at least be a day journey however before Southern troops could begin their part in this campaign.

Air superiority had been temporarily established, for now. This gave the Hispanic forces maybe an hour to strike. Enemy infantry and armor were closing in around the town, and it was time for a desperate measure. 40 minutes away, dozens of bombers finished fueling up and took off for the small town. The Hispanic ground forces were surrounded on almost every side, and escape was not possible. Artillary bombed the advancing armor and infantry, as the bombers flew closer.

---

"Tactical Squadron AF-1, Approaching the target: Distance 35 clicks. Fighter AF-1.1 leading strike. Fighters 2 through 28 approaching from 11.48 degrees."

"Roger that. Fire upon order."

"Yes sir. Approaching the target. Overhead. Five clicks. ETA: forty seconds."

"Use tactical napalm on armor in east and west."

"Roger that."

The squadron roared past the town, and dumped a large napalm payload on approaching infantry and armor on the eastern and western sides of the town. Hopefully, that would halt their advance until more mechanized troops could navigate the minefield. Their position was becoming more solid by the day, as the final portions of the army crossed the field.

Posted Image

However, only some of the Sutekh military had been disabled. The artillary aimed at the advancing forces from the south, and fired. Machine guns roared against advancing infantry. Helicopters equipped with anti-infantry and anti-tank guns took off to aid in the defence.

In the skies, the window of oppurunity had ended. No napalm strike would occur against the advancing southern fleet. The flames still burned, so it was impossible to tell the exact damage done to the western and eastern flanks, and Hispanic generals knew better than to let their guard down there. Helicopters carried wounded back to the friendly territory in the Exarchate, and from there to Hispanic hospitals.

This war was costly, but if it established Hispanic influence in the North African, Soouthern European region, it was well worth it.

"Napalm... napalm... need air support...."

That was the last words of a commanding colonel over the radio, and the Sutekhite airforce, never resting, was launched against the Hispanic air support once again. Indeed, the napalm strike would never be able to repeat itself. The Sutekhites had sealed any further chances to make sure of that.

Hundreds of soldiers had lost their lives in the deadly napalm strike, and scores more were badly burned. There was equipment that had been utterly ruined and the smell of scorched metal in the desert amidst burned flesh was never pleasant. Nevertheless, the Sutekhites were vigilant and regrouped, losing only a small part of their number in this campaign.

Southwards, air superiority was faultering but then it bolstered again when the arrival of the Confederate American jets, the Grey Ghosts, came. Sutekh-Te-Ankh still had much of its military forces in its southern regions and the increased battery from the Zeelaran end only prompted the fielding of troops who had been resting in barracks to join in on the fray.

Still, with an ally now in the war, Sutekh-Te-Ankh had a better chance of deflecting its invaders than it did initially.

The Southern air support had arrived just in time. After the devastation of the napalm attack the South now had a good reason to fight it's enemy. When the came into range the southern Grey ghosts, out numbered the enemy aircraft two to one. Though the aircraft carried the rebel flag on it's tail, they bore no other markings. This was because the South wasn't going to officially declare its presence in this war and would deny any accusation towards them about it. So far as the government was concerned, it's fleet was off the coast of Africa, preforming harmless military exercises.

With their superior maneuverability and weapons targeting systems they opened fire and quickly ripped apart their enemy. They attack wings which had parted some miles back split themselves into two commanding groups, one for the Southern theater and another for the Northern theater.

The Hispanic planes of the North found their match in the Grey Ghosts. Though they gave a valent fight the Southern planes were just too much for them to handle and many bombers and fighter jets went down in the battle. ONce hair superiority began to sway back in the South and their ally's favor they then turned towards the helicopters.

It didn't matter if they were medical or tactical, they were all a threat to the South and under strike orders of "total warfare," the South took out every target it deemed necessary. Though they hoped to take prisoners of war by the end, they didn't worry over the aircraft since for now air superiority was their only concern.

Though the troops were still a days journey away, the south had a plan to keep the advancing enemy troops at bay. Though they hadn't been issued napalm, the southern bombers did carry enough weapons to put a major dent in enemy tank and artillery positions as well as any poor soldiers that happened to be in the area. Once the battle for the sky was over, it would be the South's chance to begin the rain of fire.

The Zeelarans had thus yet been reluctant to utilize such weapons of war. However, seeing both it's recent deployment, as well as the worsening condition, rallied together the vehicles and ammunition for a deployment of napalm.

As the air war continued, Zeelaran bombers dropped their clandestine cargo under the 'fog of war' to quickly erupt fire across the lines immediately before the current engagement. As sources informed higher ups in the military of the impending troop awakenings in Sutekh, these targets were quickly chosen.

To increase pressure, and to alleviate the recent heavy casualties, the Hispanic troops placed under Zeelaran command were finally activated. These formed a quick surge to the ranks, while green troops were deployed along side of them.

Finally, a message would appear in the capital of the Seceded South:

TELEX - TELEX - TELEX - TELEX - TELEX - TELEX

Embassy of the South:

You were unprovoked, and within no true alliance of any nation involved in this conflict. We implore you to retract your military presence that is mobilized against our forces.

This is singed in collective of Zeelar.

The napalm strike had seen a surge of aircraft, not of Sutekh origin. The Hispanic army was taken by surprise, to be sure, and lost ground in the first few hours. However, any attempt of major bombing of Hispanic positions was met with AA and Gatling gun firing from the ground, and no major airstrikes made it through the Hispanic lines.

Despite the initial surprise, Hispanic fighters matched the new Gray ones, and there were more of them. Air superiority was contested, but not lost. The stalemate in the sky remained, as it always had.

On the ground, little contact occurred between the two forces. An advnace occured every now and then, but the positions had been dug in, and the trench warfare mentality had seeped into the soldier's mindsets. Veteran troops were slowly pulled out and sent to the Exarchate to regain morale as fresh troops were brought in. Artillary fire was constant, but neither side seemed to budge. It would take something drastic to move the lines.

Message to the Seceded South

We urge the South to halt their involvement in North Africa. We feel that it is only excess operations that they need to play no part in: let our allies attend to their own matters. Should the South choose not to comply with this generous request, we will be left no choice but to pursue harsher measures against them.

The Seceded South, a small nation in North America, has gotten involved in the ongoing conflict in the Sutekh state. We can fight back the few forces they have sent, but it is of the utmost importance that no additional forces are sent from the Seceded South.

The South has many strategic positions in North America, the most important of which is the Isle of Bermuda, control of which gives anyone control over the entire Atlanctic coast of North America. We would like the mighty Caronicilian navy and air force, which the South cannot feasibly match, to occupy Bermuda and secure it for themselves and the GTO.

This will accomplish two major objectives:

1. The distraction of the South from the war front in Africa, allowing combined coalition forces to fight off the pagan military and set up a new, GTO-friendly regime in place of the Pharoah.

2. Establish GTO control over North America, and the creation of a GTO naval base on bermuda.

We hope that Caronicilia, and perhaps Great New France, may work together to take this island quickly and establish supremacy. Doing so will enable victories in North Africa and North America, and establish the GTO organization as a premier military world power. This will only furhter our cause of mutual security and brotherhood, and truly will give us the recognition we deserve.

Once Bermuda has been occupied, we welcome any further attack on Southern soil, but do not feel it necessary to achieve the mission. The attack on their soil, we feel, will be more than enough to convince the Southern government to withdraw from North Africa. If they refuse to do so, annexation will further our cause, and establish military control over the Eastern seaboard.

We welcome any aid that can possibly be sent.

Re: SS involvement in Ongoing Operations

We cannot, and will not stand for the South's involvement in this war. They are honoring no alliance system, and should have no interests in being there at all. We recognize the urgency of this mission, and can ensure you that it is a matter of our greatest concerns.

Perhaps the South has been underestimated in this assesment. While we are sure we can decimate their forces, we do not necessarily feel that it will be as easy as has been made out by Hispanic commanders. We are currently using a large bulk of our forces fighting the Assassin Nation in Northern Asia, and deploying much more of our troops may loose a lot of public support, unless we can make this seem as if it were something larger- perhaps we can convince the populace that this is a conflict of global proportions, and not two of seperate casus belli? This would be amongst our only possibilities for entyering as a main occupying force, unless Great New France sent us sufficient forces to supplement ours.

We see the objectives as reasonable, if not ingenious, and congradulate Hispanian command on a job well done in formulating this plan. Collectivley, we need to see a pro-GTO government set up in Sutekh after the Pharoah has been put to justice, and we see this as an excellent means of doing so. Seizure of Bermuda would greatly benefit us, and compliment our power in North America and the Atlantic as a whole.

We are more than open to work with the Great New French forces in this operation. Should cooperation be achieved, we would feel much more confident about entering this conflict with a large force, and achieving the recognition the GTO desires.

We do not feel that strikes upon the Southern homeland are entirely necessary. Bermuda should be established as our target, and we do not feel that straying away from that would accomplish much- unless of course, the stubborn Southerners decide to remain active in the affairs of North Africa.

IC: The mobilization was complete. In fact, it had been, but it hadn't seemed as if Zeelar and her allies really needed their aid. But things were different now. The South was in the war now, for some unknown reason, and the continued survival of the GTO campaign against Sutekh hung in the balance. The time was now or never. Viceroy von Dahl authorized the dispatch of an Imperial Expeditionary Force of 10,000 Legionaries to the front line in the South. A force of 100,000 more Legionaries, 200 Caesar MBTs, and 250 F-22 fighters would make its way across the desert to the North border, where it would make its own incursion against Sutekh.

The front li8nes in the southern front of the war were lost to Zeelar's napalm strike. It allowed a dangerous window of opportunity for their forces while the Sutekhites attempted to regroup. Charred bodies filled the area, and the Sutekhite jets pursued the MiGs responsible. For once the stalemate on the ground had shown a wind of change, and only the air support from the Seceded South could help the situation now.

Northwards, the scene was practically the exact opposite. With the support of Sutekhite and Confederate planes, the ground forces, having set up much of their perimeter around the Hispanics moved in. Amor rolled ahead, infantry transport behind, and troops on foot amidst it all. Gunfire erupted over the sands as the viper jaws of the Sutekhite forces closed in on the Hispanic invaders.

It was a deadly time now. The enemy had finished their pincer movement, no doubt, and the napalm had done little. However, Hispanic engineers had forseen this, and developed a defense ring around their position while Hispanic troops died in the Green Zone. They would not lose their position if they striked at the right time. But when was that time?

Armor and infantry advanced slowly under heavy fire. The Pagan-Southern force was concentrated, it seemed in the north, as Zeelarian troops broke through down south. No matter. It was a combined effort.

Lt. Major Jose Muria checked with his engineers. The enemy force had crossed the white line. Weeks ago, Hispanic engineers had positioned high amounts of explosives in a ring around the town, should a last ditch effort for an advance be necessary. Not the whole town had been covered, but the direct southern front, where most of the enmy seemed to be gathering, and the napalm strike had avoided, lay a field of death, should the order be given. Muria motioned towards his inferiors to give the orders for a massive counterattack concentrated on the soon to be decimated southern advance.

Muria hesitated. The lives of 50,000 Hispanic troops, about to leave the protection of the artillary, trenches, and airforce in a risky counterattack were in his hands. He motioned to give the order. The engineers detonated the white line. Even at the post, Muria felt the ground shake. Then, a deafaning noise, as thousands upon thousands of running infantry men charged the advancing line. Artillary fire provided cover from the worst defensive turrets, but the men still ahd to face off advancing armor and enemy bullets. It was a risky venture, but it ight be worth it.

That said, I should think that even without the CP system, our military would still be a leading contender on the Continent so it won't be cake walk, but anyone can be defeated so I'll leave it at that. Also anything to do with land holdings has to go through the person who holds the land just in case you didn't know.

IC:

Official Government Statement

The Seceded South is currently running military excersises off the coast of Africa. We are completely shocked that accusation have come forth accusing us of involving ourselves in matters which do not pertain to our nation. We are not involved in the Sutekh Conflict and shall never be involved. This message is to all nations who have inquired about this situation. So to repeat, the Seceded South is not involved in any aid to the Sutekh people by means of military force.

In the air the Southern bombers did their duty in the south, unleashing complete hell on the ground. The bombardment lasted for over 15 minutes as bomb after bomb was dropped all over enemy positions. When the last bomb fell the bombers broke off and were escorted out however as they and their escorts began to disappear over the horizon the second wave of Confederate planes began to appear. This time they were just Grey Ghost fighters. Maned with fresh pilots and a completely loaded with arms they were ready to continue to battle for the skies.

In the North the same attack was used by the bombers to aid the advancing Sutekhite lines. Once completed the bombers mirrored the action of the south and broke off, allowing fresh planes into the battle. Again they were no bombers in this second wave only attack fighters. They took continued the battle for air superiority.

On the ground the Confederate soldier had finally found themselves at the western border of the nation. General Morgan showed the proper papers to the awaiting border patrol and them steamrolled his men into the country. Having with him the first-fourth division of his army, it was a combine force of over a million fighting men. Along with me, he had brought from the ship a combine force of over a thousand tanks and mobile artillery units. As his commanding officer gathered round him on a secluded road in the south-west region of Sutekh he informed them that they would now split up, sending over 6 hundred-thousand soldiers to the North with armored support and over 6 hundred-thousand to the south also to be accompanied by armored support.

Once the orders were given the giant force split itself almost entirely in half with the General heading with the southern support group while leaving Lieutenant General (LG) Davis Woods, a bright military officer in his early 30's, to lead the northern support group. It would take the Northern group close to four hours before they could reach their objective so once gain those soldiers found themselves on another long trek. The southern support group however would see action soon with being only about an hour or so from the south-eastern from where the Zeelaran army was trying to invade.
