Sadly, I thought the same thing Kas. And I hate that show.

I've never done a History for the Assassins. Which I'm semi-working on with a book. But I think I might make a brief one just for reference here for a change of pace.

OOC: There might've not have been a global Empire in ancient time-but I saw something very interesting on the History Channel that could fit quite nicely. Before anyone reads this: I am not a conspiracy theorist and don't believe any of this meant anything.

Okay, basically, in remote corners of the globe, they've found nearly identical statues and other carvings, that would date back to before the Roman Empire. Some are so massive that it would seem to be impossible for a tribal group of people to build them, hell, some are friggin underwater! No one knows what really built them. There are of course the nuts who say aliens made them, than the people who say that it was the "Great Atlantian Civilization" that made them, etc., etc.

Now-does it matter what it is in reality?

NO!

Say that the people who built that were the Gurai or something.

Why did the Egyptians, Babylonians, and Mayans all build step pyramids? The Gurai told them to.

Oh come now everyone knows that the pyramids of ancient times are just landing platforms for alien motherships, of a race which enslave the human race in a time before written history.

And I always thought the pyramids were the creations of a master ant civilization that existed when humanity was first developing.

Well they are the ancestors to human civilization as we know it but they didn't build the pyramids. They had just began to spread the human species across the globe when the aliens came and enslave us for a couple of centuries until the rebellion.

Yeah, but the Aliens outnumbered the humans and had lazer guns and stuff! So the humans retreated to Kansas, and we have....

Humans v. Aliens 300 style!

Programmed into us by the Aliens. That's why people who live there never move away, even when their house is destroyed by a tornado every year.

You fools! You have all bought into the mythology set down by the aliens. There is no Kansas. The people sent there become alien food, and they invented Kansas to keep us quiet. How do I know this? I once tried to find Kansas. Yes, I really did. I gassed up my old Datsun 510 wagon in Albuquerque, and started driving east. After driving for what seemed like forever accross a wasteland as uninviting as can be, and passing through previously thought to be fictional cities of Tucumcari and Amirrillo, I arrived in the inhospitable land of Oklahoma. At some point I knew the "Land of Kansas" was supposed to be north, containing, I should remind you, the mystical seven cities of gold hunted by Coronado (who disappeared, and was never heard from again).

Anyway, I turned north, and discovered the first plague - turtles. Thousands of turtles crossing the highway. All you could do is keep on driving and hear the "crunch, crunch, crunch" of the turtles under your tires. It was so horrible that I had to pull over, where I encountered "mystery man". He claimed to be a hitch-hiker. He had some "funny" cigarettes, and shared a few with me, and he joined me in my search.

Well, we continued driving north, and reached the land of "IF". We saw the huge sign, and then the enterence, so we cruised in. It was extremely strange, but here, at the land of "IF" we found a resort in the middle of the wilderness. We had dinner, then were invited by the serving staff (strangely, all from the east coast) to join them after hours. We smoked, drank, and I was seduced by a young succubus. Before we knew it, it was morning, and I had awoken naked in a strange bed, alone.

I quickly found my hitch-hiker friend, and we ran to my car, encountering no living human beings. We retraced our route out from the cursed land of "IF" and continued north. After driving for what seemed days across strange lands, almost in a sleep-like state, we saw a sign. It read "Lincoln, Nebraska, next exit". Well, I was in a state of panic, and my hitch-hiker friend demanded to be dropped off. I let him out on the side of the road, made a quick right turn, and headed back to the saftey of Illinois.

At no time did we ever encounter "Kansas", or even anything resembling "Kansas." I challange any and all of you to try and find this place. I swear, it does not exist.

(The above story is true. It happened in the Spring of 1977. I attest to its accuracy and truth.)

Look, it seems I'm going to have to educate you on the history of the universe.

Millions of years ago, the first evolution of mankind lived in a distant galaxy along the evolutionary path to ascension. However a philosophical division emerged in this nadcant civilisation which caused it to splinter into two groups: religious zealots and a more scientificly minded group. Ultimately, their viewpoints diverged so much that the two groups split apart and began to oppose each other, culminating in the religious group attempting to destroy the Others. Instead of going to war, the Others decided to leave their galaxy, and began searching for a new home.

After thousands of years, these Others discovered the Milky Way, where they eventually built an impressive empire. They apparently also settled on Earth, which they called Terra. They built Astria Porta across many planets, most of which were colonized by the race. Earth was also once the location of one of the Ancient City Ships, Atlantis, before it moved to the Pegasus Galaxy.

Although exiled to another galaxy, these others still remained in contact with their distant cousins via long-range communication devices in both the Milky Way and their home galaxy. Still, the two factions remained bitter enemies. Eventually, the settlers of our galaxy were afflicted with a terrible plague that wiped out most of their civilization engineered by the zealots.

The settlers of our galaxy attempted to recreate life after the plague in the Milky Way using their arcane technology (causing the current evolution of humanity on Earth) and ascended to a higher plane of existance.

This ascencion left a lasting impression on our human species. The most noteable example is George Lucas's stories of a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away.

However, humans were not the only race to be spawned. On a distant world, another race began their lifecycle as relatively helpless aquatic larvae. Those that survive to maturity develop elaborate fins that allow them to spring powerfully out of the water to burrow into a suitable creature's neck. A landbased mammal evolved on the same world and were the parasites original favoured host. Rather than remain on their homeworld the parasites inside their hosts, used that planet's Astria Porta to emigrate to other worlds.

They then infiltrated and invaded other alien races until they had conquered the entire Milky Way Galaxy. Eventually, their race began to die out, until their ruler discovered Earth and the ancient humans living there; humans proved to be a much more suitable host-race for the parasites, as human bodies were easier to repair, and human hands and voices offered much greater opportunity for expression and technological use; use of their original host was phased out.

This parasitic race enslaved humanity and used them to construct the pyramids, which were landing pads for great alien spaceships. This race also spread humans across the galaxy so that they could have a vast resource of slave labour to support their parasitic space empire.

Eventually, due in part to the influence of aliens who rivialed the parasites and partly due to time travelling actions of the American Airforce, there was a great uprising on Earth and the parasitic overlords were overthrown.

Earth burried it's Astria Porta and isolated itself from the empire of the parasites.

Yes, and there is no Kansas.

The existance or non-existance of Kansas is something the UN (both the IT and the ATCO) says I'm not allowed to talk about anymore.
