But I still like "The JAUST War".

Heck, even "The Jaust".

Remian War

Because the Yshurak strike on Remus is what catapulted this war from a disaster to an active military conflict.

No. That would imply it being the world versus JAUST and JAUST hasn't the military capacity to do that.

*sigh*...JAUST needs allies. :(

The Eurasian War (because right now it seems that only these two regions will be fightimg...we need more fronts)

EDIT- ^ was reply to Nag.

How about a name based on how long it was fought. Like the 90 Years' War or something.

or we could measure it in minutes, like the 2,000,470,000 minute war

How many 'Major' alliances are going to be involved in this? JAUST, The Commies, and the MB, right? Why not just call it the 'Three Alliances War' ?

They'll probably be smaller conflicts that don't have much to do with alliances happening at the same time.

The Red Storm is actually a good name for the war. Or the Red-Dacian Storm.

And RD or TC: see my request in the thread for safe passage, same to Terorr and FB. As for another front, perhaps the Confederacy could get involved? Perhaps they're none too happy with the Canucks accerting their power over other states?

Heh, if that happened this would remind me of H. Turtledove's Great War series.

GC may have to ally with JAUST to combat the Communists. Better dead than Canuck, better Canuck than commie.

Or, GC might sit around for a while as JAUST and the communists destroy each other, and then the GC can swoop in and pick up the scraps.

I don't care what you call it, for in Velorya it shall aways be Emperor Marcus's War, or to those who support Adrian, Marcellus's War.

However, while the Red Storm is a kick-ass thread name, it doesn't really work for a war. There are several methods of naming a war, you know. Let's go through them.

-Location: OK, that's the whole world. So only "World War" would apply here. unfortunate. Examples: The Crimean War, the NeoDacian War

-Combatants: Well, we're not really sure who exactly this is yet, but once we are, we could use that. The JAUST-Commie War is kinda lame. The JAUST War would work, but a certain someone obviously disapproves. Unfortunate. Examples: The Franco-Prussian War, the Scythiro-Veloryan War.

-Guy Who Started It: Praetor Hicks's War? Jiran Hjork's War? It works better for small wars. Unfortunate. Examples: King William's War (War of the League of Augsburg), Empress Atalanta's Crusade (Scythiro-Veloryan War)

-Time Elapsed: As TC Suggested. Bu how long shall this last? Unfortunate. Examples: Hundred Years' War, Thirty Years' War

Someone would have to compromise for any of these. I guess I wasn't very helpful...

Yeah, only "World War" or something like that will work for a global conflict. "Red Storm" or "JAUST-Communist War" are too narrow to be a suitable name for a truly global conflict.

It would be like calling WWII the "Polish Blitzkrieg" or calling WWI the "Serbian War."

That's a bit too narrow, as this is to encompass the entire world.
