OOC: If the armies seem any bit stretched, its FOR THIS RP ONLY to provide a bigger battle zone and make the campaign more plausible over such a vast distance to cover.

As with all solo wars I create, this one is not entirely predetermined, other nations can directly and/or indirectly influence its outcome. Effectively beginning soon after the first battle (which comes in this post.) This is also when it can be assumed public that the two nations are in a full blown war.

Eleytheria-Duo began to feel the effects of increasing Isolation, many of its close friends had gone from this Earth, if their Nation did not strengthen their resolve, it would take little time before they followed suit.

Nobody had heard from the Socialists in months, nobody knew what was going on inside that hell hole ... Only one thing was certain, as so long as the Socialist threat existed, nobody was safe on any continent. Not from these petty criminals, mercenary dogs, and barbaric terrorists.

Catherine Nerdinskaya felt that the time for waiting was over, with the Assassins gone, the Eleytherian fleet could move into Asia without their objection to launch a total war of annihilation against the Socialist forces occupying their colony. Little did she know that the Socialists, had plans of their own...
____________________________________________________________

June 22 of 20XX,
Derby Harbor,
Socialist Eleytheria

"Move aboard, comrades! Move!" shouted Alexander Vyshinsky. "For the Socialist Republic! Move your ass!" he continued impatiently.

Hundreds of thousands of men loyal to Andrey Puzankov boarded what would be their home over the next several weeks to come, floating cans of steel that would traverse them to the other side of the world, some 13,500 kilometers away...

The socialists totaled 3.7 million strong including the 1.5 million volunteers that had gone through Andreys "Re-education" camps, however only a fraction of that could land at any given time on Eleytheria-Duo's soil. Reinforcing the Campaign over such an incredible expanse would be very difficult even for the most professional of armies, but not impossible...

Four aircraft carriers and four assault ships, along with dozens of destroyers, frigates, cruisers and smaller amphibious landing craft and support ships began creeping out of the harbor, totaling over 500 strong including the several hundred landing craft specifically designed for this operation, it would be one of the largest amphibious assaults over such an incredible distance in the history of Eleytherian warfare.

With such a massive fleet moving so close to the shores of Socialist Eleytheria, the tides arose and fell by several inches. It was onward, onward through Cape Horn, and to Baffin Island...

Meanwhile...

The Eleytherian Navy, comprised almost entirely of war ships specifically designed for engaging in warfare, as well as handful of support ships, sailed their way westward thogh Cape Horn -- Destination; Derby.

Neither side knew it, but the two sides were destined to crash into one another, in the middle of the South Pacific Ocean...

Several days later...

As time passed, the two opposing forces slipped closer and closer to one another, oblivious to each others presence in the same body of water. Neither Eleytheria-Duo nor Socialist Eleytheria had satellite possessions. It made the life of a soldier much more difficult.

Within 200 Nautical Miles of each other, the Eleytherian fleets Radar had detected Andrey's much larger naval force. A massive green blip on the screen drew ever closer, to the utter shock of the crew.

"Cap'n! These guys are in close formation and cover a massive area of the sea. Definitely military, and sure as hell not friendly. There must be four or five hundred ships in there!"

Standing in disbelief, the commander could not believe his ears. The socialists, if that is who they really were, had long been poor and unable to support their own people, how could they have become so strong in such a short period of time? "Five Hun..." he stuttered, "Are you sure?"

"Aye, Captain. This thing is not lying."

He only sighed. "Inform all ships to ready their missile batteries, bring the carriers on Alert 5 and load the guns. We head into battle."

Whilst the Eleytherian fleet were doing just as they had been ordered, at 130 Nautical Miles, the Socialists soon detected the much smaller Eleytherian fleet, despite the fact that most of the Socialist fleet was no larger in terms of warships, its massive number of transports gave them away much sooner than they could detect the Federalists.

"Flot-Admirala, Vue've a fleet coming straight at us at two hundred and forty kilometers and closing fast. Vue are being approached at flank speed! It vwould be safe to assume their intent is Hostile at this point," a Socialist operator said in a heavily Slavic accented voice.

Two sides whom bitterly hated one another were now aware to each others presence and heading for one another like a reinforced bullet train ready to plow into one another.

The distance between the two fleets shrank, targeting systems were firmly locked unto a predetermined target, war was now inevitable... Within 70 Nautical miles, weapons range was achieved...

Deafening roars exploded with a tremendous howl and billowing smoke engulfed both fleets as the two sides fired massive volleys of anti-ship missiles to shock their adversaries into submission. Gargantuan columns of smoke roared across the vast ocean, as both sides missile count tallied over 4,000 missiles in the air.

The massive barrages soon passed each other with a tremendous sonic boom, shaking the very seas under them as each one screamed towards its target at an astonishing 2500 miles per hour. Both sides took countermeasure maneuvers to bring their Anti-missile defenses fully to bear upon the incoming projectiles.

Explosive thunder crushed through the air with the missiles coming ever closer to their targets, both sides soon unleashed their Gatling cannons, sending millions of bullets into the air in a dazzling display of bright streaks that could be seen from two hundred miles away.

Bullets riddled through the hulls of the Shipwreck missiles, igniting fuel tanks and detonating explosives, bright flashes filled the sky and burning hot fragments of aluminum and steel tore across the horizon.

Wails and screams rent violently across the seas as the fragments of the missiles continued to hurl towards the fleets, smashing into their hulls and violently ripping, crushing and slashing any flesh that got in its way.

Despite the best efforts to eliminate as many missiles as they could, barely 20% were destroyed, and both fleets were overwhelmed by the torrential shower of warheads crashing down upon them...

Hundreds met their targets in a huge ball of fire, the air around the ships superheated in an eerie blur as all life was instantly vaporized around the impact site. Some ships were simply ripped in half from the tremendous force, others were left with gaping holes and singed with black soot from the inferno.

The smoke was so incredibly thick that visibility had dropped from 20 miles to a quarter mile in only 10 minutes, so thick was it, that it could be seen from space as a black sprawling blob in the middle of a blue sea. From Earth, viewers hundreds of miles away could see the cloud mushroom with the wind.

With both sides fleet severely damaged, and most weapons systems completely destroyed or non-functional, they prepared to close the distance even further, and fire from deck to deck with their main guns. The gauntlet was on...

The remainder of the combat fleet moved at full speed into the thickest area of the billowing black smoke -- directly into the line of the hostile approaching ships. With visibility so poor, some sailed right passed their adversaries without even knowing it, others burst through the cloud layers mere yards from impact, the turrets of guns fired viciously upon the passing ships, as the clangs of shells impacting and exploding off the hull and deck of their adversaries ships could be heard on their own.

Sailing by one another, they fired small arms from deck to deck mere feet away from one another with bullets bouncing and ricocheting everywhere. Men began tossing grenades and other crude explosives to kill crew members. Drawing even closer, ships began to ram into their opponents, boarding them and beating the crew with anything they could grab from their own ship. Alcohol bottles, empty rifles, even forks and spoons were used as weapons.

The difference between War and Insanity had been blurred by the sheer despair for victory by either side. Blood soaked the decks and gushed into the ocean below in a gruesome spectacle of human brutality.

As the hours passed, and the smoke settled, over 700 ships in total were damaged or destroyed. Not a single one had not been touched by the battle in some way. Out of the 500 Socialist ships, 200 remained, and out of the 200 Eleytherian ships, twenty surived, but were captured. A mere four escaped from the battle, fleeing for their lives back to Eleytheria-Duo with no operational weapons systems, barely enough fit crew to operate the ships, and no communications to call for help...

Tens of thousands died in the largest sea battle that either side had ever participated in, and the now pollution-choked oceans ran red with blood and bodies and black with oil and burnt soot...

There would be not a chance upon this Earth that the world would have missed such an event, especially those with satellites. The Second Eleytherian Civil war, had truly begun...

"What?" Lev'le said irritated as his assistant walk into his office.

The assistant looked baffled, Lev'le could read the expression, and he had a difficult time saying what he had intended to say.

"So?" Lev'le inquired again.

"W-Well, sir. I think you should see this."

Lev'le raised his eyebrow curiously, he failed to come up with anything that would qualify as anything important at the moment. But he disclosed the matter as he got up from his chair and walked outside of the room. As Lev'le left his office he was greeted by a hall of anxious Military and Civilian workers, they all looked to Lev'le with grief-stricken eyes, Lev'le's heart sank.

"This way, sir." The assistant gestured, they were heading to the Presidential Ready Room.

As Lev'le made his way through the crowd of office workers he began to draw up his own conclusions, was it a Veloryan Terrorist attack? No, if they were going to attack anywhere it would be Konosar and he would have known already if anything had happened. Maybe an Industrial accident? No, if it were an Industrial accident then it would have to be a catastrophe and the Minister of Infrastructure would have contacted him via video-phone. Perhaps a riot in Yakust after a hockey match? Hell no, Lev'le would have seen the game himself and would have been immediently notified just by watching to the TV rather then being contacted by anyone of his ministers. No, the event that had just unfolded was one worse then any three of those magnified a thousand fold.

Lev'le entered his Ready Room, inside his Joint Chief's of Staff, including Zaroff, were present. They were all gazing at the monitor at the end of the room, just behind Lev'le's chair. It simply showed a real time satellite image of a dense, greasy cloud of smoke that was beginning to cover much of Southern Polynesia.

"What in God's name is that?" Lev'le said, his voice breaking slightly.

Zaroff immediently tore his attention away from the monitor and affixed his eyes on Lev'le. "This sir, is the after of chaos." Zaroff said quite smoothly, "Currently all we know his that the Eleytheria-Duo Navy just engaged, and subsequently retreated from, a large fleet from most probably, Derby."

Lev'le stood at the doorway, mouth dropped, agastat what he currently saw on the monitor. If what he saw on there was true, then war - choas - was about to send Eleytheria-Duo into war with none other then their former colony, Socialist Eleytheria-Duo. The thought lingered in Lev'le's mind, war. "Contact Catherine, tell her I wish to speak with her immediently so as to try to find out whats going on."

"Yes, sir." Lev'le's assistant replied.

Zaroff still looked at Lev'le, as if already anticipating him saying "ready the troops". But it didn't come, instead Lev'le shot him a sharp stare. "Does the public know?"

"Does it matter?" Zaroff laughed.

"It does to me."

"A battle that consumed the lives of ten thousand men, left the Eleytheria-Duo Navy in ruin's, created an enormous black cloud that could be seen from satellite and land without much trouble. Why yes, Y'agnivh I do beleive the public has heard about it."

Lev'le didn't like how Zaroff put thing's so matter-a-factly, but it was a better quality in him that told him when he was being foolish and he was being foolish. Not good for a leader that is just about to discuss the happenings of a battle with a probably very worried leader.

June 28 of 20XX,
Kugaaruk City,
Eleytheria-Duo

Kugaaruk ... That name became synonymous to a Bastion of Eleytherian independence to the Nations' citizens. One of the largest cities in the extreme north, home to 16 million people behind its seemingly impregnable walls of Granite, Steel reinforcement and Concrete.

The city had grown extensively, and high rises became more commonplace, even if the structures overall appearance changed little. Great leaders had drove and walked its streets, and businessmen from all over the world congregated to discuss trade in precious metals and one of the most valuable assets the Nation had -- Oil.

But besides the daily prosperous life of the average citizen, there were also other forces at work in this City, one that was rarely observed directly by any citizen, even if their structures could be seen everywhere, and their influence was felt across the country, for when they prospered, so did the people, and vice versa. It was the Eleytherian Federal Government.

Based in Republic Headquarters, it was those who walked these halls that negotiated trade, established and nourished foreign relations, as well as centrally organized defensive and offensive operations both within Eleytheria-Duo and around the globe...

Republic Headquarters,
Eleytheria-Duo

As the Socialist fleet was still far out of engagement distance, the top commanders and leaders of the Eleytherian Government and Military convened one last time to discuss a strategy in defeating the impending threat, for it was too risky for all the top commanders to be in one area after the combat began.

Amongst the usual members on hand were Yanon Nummirit, Patrick Edarmi, Catherine Nerdinskaya, Kevin Lowas, Willow Heraclitus, several Senators and "Lesser" Generals.

However, there was a newcomer; Gregory Sazhnev. Although not a member of any Eleytherian military branch, he was nevertheless a veteran of the First Chechen war back in the Russian Federation, many years ago. He was also Catherine's lover...

"Gentlemen," Catherine began, "As you are all well aware, a major naval battle took place in the South Pacific between the Federal and Socialist Governments of Eleytheria; None of us have heard anything from our fleet that partook in the conflict. This is clearly a negative sign, as our forces should have sent a transmission proclaiming the socialist fleet defeated by now," clearing her throat she continued, "That's where you come in, I need assessments on what may have happened during the conflict and what may happen if we have failed to neutralize the threat."

Yanon was the first to speak; "Well, from what intelligence we have gathered on the situation, it would appear that the situation is bleak for our Navy. Our spies in the Region spotted large flashes on the low horizon during the conflict, and not long afterward, a massive cloud of black smoke mushrooming into the air.

Though we do not know for certain who walked away more victorious, I believe that due to the absence of any communication from our fleet over the week, as well as the continual sightings of a large armada passing though Cape Horn, it is safe to say that our fleet is gone."

One of the senators asked; "Is it possible that the battle could have damaged our fleets communications and they simply cannot contact us?"

"Possible," Yanon began with a reply, "But very unlikely. You would have to assume a number of things went right, including that the vast majority of our fleet survived the battle with next to no losses to account for the sightings of a large armada moving through the Cape. Secondly, you would have to explain how every single communication device -- long and short range -- could possibly be destroyed without a single serviceman aboard left to repair them. Over 75% of our naval crews have some form of training in repairing our communications equipment. Assuming this would indicate to me that there wouldn't even be enough crew left to operate the entirety of our fleet.

Furthermore, eyewitnesses of the Cape crossing seems to indicate landing craft amongst this particular fleet. We had dispatched absolutely no landing craft of any sort as our Attack on Socialist Eleytheria was supposed to heavily rely on air raids. The Socialists on the other hand have a numerical advantage in infantry due to massive conscription policies amongst their socialist populations. It would make sense to bring much more landing craft with their fleet, possibly hundreds of self-supporting landing craft and perhaps thousands of smaller landing craft that are mounted to larger war ships until zero hour."

Another Senator spoke; "And what about the possibility that they were captured by our fleet?"

Yanon only sighed. "Again you are not considering the lack of contact we've had with our fleet, assuming that they cannot fix any of their equipment with the reserve electronics they had aboard would largely indicate that the total manpower of the fleet has been incredibly diminished. Too small to operate a quarter of our former fleet, yet alone operate a larger one as well as captured ships.

Also, our forces had no extra marine contingencies, only defensive. What would the purpose be to board a hostile marine landing craft? To have your own ship captured? It would be beyond insane to even consider boarding a marine transport without the adequate boarding crews to fight the hostile marines aboard the said ship."

Catherine only nodded, she already knew that this war was, once again, landing on their doorstep. "I've heard enough evidence to conclude that our fleet has been defeated at sea and won't be returning home. Let us hope for the best and prepare for the worst. Yanon, it is unlikely that their fleet would have emerged from the battle unscathed, what are the odds that their manpower is too significantly weakened to launch a proper amphibious assault?"

Yanon nodded in agreement; "Likely. But knowing Andrey, it is probable that he will still push through with the invasion. In my mind, the crossing through the Cape only reinforces this belief. We cannot assume that they will be an impotent fighting force, however, as even a small contingent of hostile forces on our soil will be an extremely significant threat. We are a large nation with plains and low hills to our Southern borders, oceans and islands to our East and North, and rugged, jagged mountains along our North and Northwestern borders.

The vast flat planes offer little protection for a fighting force like Andrey's, however its sheer size makes scouting them thoroughly almost impossible. The mountains, heh, good luck... You could hide an entire nations military there and you would still have difficulty finding it. The best chances to spot and engage his armies is in the hilly regions. Unfortunately, this is where most of our population resides. Conversely, the population themselves will play a large role in reporting the movements of Andrey's forces to our command and control."

"What about a plan of attack" one of the Senators asked, "How do we strike back at Andrey's forces after they do land?"

"That's a good question," Yanon replied, "But a better question is; How do we prevent him from setting foot on our soil at all?"

Here, the Senator arched his eyebrow and wondered what Yanon was considering. Yanon was a good man, and a skilled tactician, but his militaristic outlook on things made him rather a bit of a rogue gun to the Senators, whom did not get to know the man like the Presidential Staff did.

"Catherine," he said as he turned to face the President, "We have the LRBM-2500 Black Star. If we launch our FS-1 Fighters to seek out Andrey's navy and if we find it, we could fire the MIRV's and sink his entire fleet before it even reaches our shores."

With a slow nod, she seriously considered the use of the long range missiles, but the diplomatic backlash could be too great, perhaps even bringing more adversaries against the Eleytherians, as the missiles would have to travel over several Nations' air spaces before reaching their targets.

"I would normally consider such an option unthinkable not to be used, Yanon. However, the missiles would have to travel over the skies of multiple Nations before reaching their targets. It may help Andrey more than it would hurt him. I cannot authorize the use of ICBM weapons."

Yanon dropped his head and complied; "You are right. I apologize for rushing ahead of myself, sometimes I forget how much politics can overlap into war."

"In many ways, wars are merely an extension of politics in our day and age, Yanon."

He smiled. "I knew you were going to say that, Catherine..."

Just then, a tall, young man knocked on the door before entering. "Madam President," he said, "I hate to interrupt, but the Konoshan's are contacting us. Also, you and your Generals may wish to see what is being displayed on Seceded South news, namely from Bermuda amateur footage."

The thought of the Konoshans contacting was a sigh of relief for everyone in the room, but any *amateur* footage coming from Bermuda that required the attention of the Eleytherians highest Generals was an all too ominous sign. Their hearts sank to the floor when they heard that -- Andrey's forces were drawing dangerously close...

OOC: Kono, you can post your transmission now, if you like. I'll reply to it as I continue the RP.

It was sometime before Lev'le had prepared his messege to Catherine. He had been looking at the Live feed from the Konoshian Satelites tracking a densly packed amount of ships, the view was centered on the Atlantic Ocean, the North Atlantic to be more specific. Lev'le knew that it was the Socialist fleet, and it was making a B-Line strait for Eleytheria-Duo.

Catherine's image replaced the satelite feed almost instantly, fluttering only slightly. Lev'le smiled and cleared his throat before he spoke. "Privet, Catherine. Sorry for the informalities but I beleive the current situation may disreguard them." Lev'le spoke of course of the Socialist's, "I need not go into detail's so I will get right down to it, the Socialist's are closing in, your Navy is gone, you need help. Konosha will of course lend that help."

Lev'le was a little shocked by his tone and wording, it wasnt as careful as he wanted it to be but the ergency of the predictament was one of quickness not chanlante words.

OOC: Contiune on with your RP, I will act according to the situation, tovarishch. :P

Catherine only blinked for a moment, not entirely sure how to reply to such a bluntly put proposal. After a slight stutter of confusion, she replied; "Lev'le, Sir. I am grateful for your offer of support, but I would not wish to see Konoshan soldiers put in harms way of a fight that does not even have its origins with your Nation.

Many of your soldiers undoubtedly have families, loved ones. I could not bear the thought they would sacrifice their lives for a war they neither understand nor care about when they could be at home with those they know and strive for.

I do not mean to disrespect your Nations honor, however I would prefer not to endanger any more lives than what is already at stake. If you truly wish to help us, we could desperately use the intelligence, as our space program is in its earliest of infancies and we have not even readied a rocket design for space launch.

Without satellites to monitor Andrey's fleet, we have no way of knowing how imminent his strike will be. These images could also go a long way in helping us defeat his standing army should they successfully set foot on Eleytherian Soil.

Is this acceptable?"

SSN: Seceded South News

Good evenin and thank yall fer joinin us, I'm Bill Foxworth and you might be a redneck. The unseasonal drought continues to plague the Seceded South as farmers and industries try to find a solution to the unusual heat that the nation has been experiencing. President Stokes has issues several bills to be taken to the state congresses this month that are aimed and speeding up the process of finding solutions. Lawmakers from each of the four states say that special sessions of congress will be held to deliberate the issues.

In other news, we bring to you tonight the first news story we received from Bermuda since the Bermuda conflict. With much of war-torn island of Bermuda in shambles there has been little to talk about. However, tonight we bring you an interesting eye witness story. Yesterday evening construction crews off the East coast of Bermuda say they spotted a large fleet sailing North at a quick pace.

Robert Downing of Downing construction estimated the large fleet to be around 300 ships. He and his crew temporary evacuated the beach fearing that the fleet was another foreign invasion force. However, were relieved when the fleet sped away in their northern direction. No word from naval authorities as to the national identity of the fleet.

Lev'le was slightly shocked by Catherine's answer. He realized his proposal was oddly initiative, even for him, but if one of his greatest allies was about to be attacked and by proxy invaded then he couldn't possibly stand by and watch.

"Madam President, you are talking about a nation of 2.6 Billion people, most of whom love nothing more then the absolute thrill of battle. That is all they need to know what they are fighting for." Lev'le knew it would sound odd to Catherine, but unless she was Konoshian she probably wouldn't understand, he smiled nervously and continued, "You're right, too. I don't understand the meaning of this war, I might never understand but what I realize at this moment is that one of Konosha's greatest allies is about to be attacked. You must realize for a man trained to attack just to watch his friend's assaulted over a satellite rather frustrating."

He paused momentarily, glancing at another screen showing the image of a large grouping of ships nearing the Gulf of St. Lawrence. He sighed slowly, he knew that his Eleytherian allies were receiving the same picture.

"It's completely up to you, I can't force your hand but I wont stand back and watch you being attacked either. I did that once, when Umojen was taken over by a madman named Kohler. I did nothing for it was a war that was not my own, you know what the end result was of not helping my ally?"

Lev'le paused. "Vikkora was taken over, 3 Million people died, more were homeless, and Konosha had to take control over both Umojen and Vikkora because the destabilization was so great. That is exactly what happened when I did nothing to aid my ally, I realize your nation is also much stronger then that of Umojen or Vikkora, but you also face a greater foe. Please, allow us to do more then give you pictures from a satellite, let us help."

Catherine nodded slowly in silent agreement.

"You are a good man, Lev'le, and your people are an example to us all, which is testament your excellent leadership. If Konosha desires to stand beside Eleytherian soldiers, we could certainly use the extra manpower in fending off Andrey's landing force. We..."

Just then, Catherine was interrupted by one of her advisor's rushing into the room. "Madam President," he began, "I have disturbing news."

Catherine merely looked at him with her usual "Well, spit it out" look.

"We have been analyzing the Satellite images that our allies, the Konoshans, have been broadcasting to us. More specifically, their Carriers and Assault Ships. We were stunned to see FS-1 class fighters catapulting off the decks as a forward Reconnaissance force. The fleet is still a distance away, they are likely only screening for possible fleets ahead of them, they cannot touch us, yet..."

Catherine's face became red with anger, "What...?! FS-1's?! Do you mind explaining to me how the hell the Socialist bastards managed to gain access to some of our *Most Secure* military diagrams in the NATIONAL COMMAND DATABASES?!"

The advisor's face was clearly marked by a sudden streak of fear as Catherine's voice echoed throughout the entire building. "N-N-No, M-Madam Pr-President! We've J-Just recently got confirmation."

"Ready every Fighter, Strike and Bomber Aircraft at Sol, when these bastards strike, I want the PULVERIZED. Do you understand me?!"

"Y-Y-Yes, Madam President!"

"Get the hell out of here!"

With that, the startled man quickly shut the door and ran off to his duties, as Catherine looked back to the Screen, Lev'le having an unusual look on his face.

Lev'le smirked slighty, not in arrogance but in trying to hide his surprise.

"Madam I think the best plan for Andrey's attack is the deployment of Konoshian forces in the Eleytherian mainland to protect from assault." He allowed Catherine to understand what this implied, "The bulk of my armies forces shall be spread out through the Notos State, Eleftheriya Kentrikos, and Iron Bison Hills."

He turned around momentarily, pressing a touch screen on the conference table which in turn requested a password. He entered it and a list of Konoshian forces was quickly displayed. He was mobilizing little over 100,000 forces to land in the Eleytherian mainland, it was indeed a steep amount of forces but against Andrey's the Eleytherian's would need every last one of them.

With Catherine's consent, Lev'le would send more forces, however if anymore forces were mobilized it would take longer to send them over to Eleytheria-Duo, any longer and Konoshian forces wouldnt be fortifying, but liberating Eleytherian soil.

Yanon walked into the Communique room where Catherine was still on the line with Lev'le. He did not stutter or sway like the aide before him, he stood straight and firm.

"Madam President. We have calculated a time-to-distance chart. At the speed Andrey's fleet is progressing, they will be within Air Strike range by dawn tomorrow. At our current state of mobilization, chances of shooting down any steady campaign of hostile sorties are less than 10%.

We need to prepare our ground forces to fortify Baffin and the Spear, ready our Fighters to engage in around the clock air patrols and load our strike craft with Exocet Anti-ship Missiles which have a range of 110 miles as well as arm our Tupolev Tu-160's with the Raduga Kh-15 Missiles that an effective range of 185 miles.

Most Air-to-Air battles will begin at around 40 miles from one aircraft to the other, which is the effective range of our most advanced weapons without the possibility of the hostile aircraft simply turning around and fleeing from range. If we can surprise the enemy fleet, we can unleash a maelstrom upon their cruisers and frigates to limit their surface-to-air capabilities. There is simply too many ships armed with CIWS to engage their carriers outright, so we will have to adapt our strategy to their counter-strategies as quickly as possible.

Finally, if push comes to shove, we COULD use our 'Black Star' Missiles without impeding upon the rights of neighboring sovereignties, however deploying such weapons so close to home is of questionable wisdom.

With your permission, Madam President, I would like to exercise my authority as the Supreme Commander of Eleytherian Armed Forces and begin full mobilization procedures immediately and prepare deployment throughout the Mainland as well as the Islands. General Alexander and General Vanters will keep you informed when I cannot."

The President took a moment to soak all of what was said in, and nodded. "So be it, Yanon. Good luck, my old friend."

They saluted one another, and Yanon left the room to prepare...

Yanon is a very technical and hands on person, he wants people to know exactly what he's talking about.

Besides *I* want people to know exactly what to look for if they need to look it up or use it a reference further down the line of the RP.

OOC- I did say you didn't have to respond. Even if he is technical, just try reading those lines outloud....

If you want people to know what you are talking about, there are literary techniques that can accomplish that. Doing so through your dialogue, atleast for me, is very distracting...

That isn't a problem for me, I see (or hear for that matter) nothing wrong with it. But maybe thats just because I am used to this kind of stuff.

I'll keep that in mind, but I am just using a protective shield from people shouting "BS! BS!" when the information they need to prove it isn't BS is right in front of them. Besides, there's nothing I like saying more than "I told you so."

In any case... I will continue with the RP after Kono posts his next move.

In Pelican Dropship over Cambridge State
Eleytheria-Duo

Corporal Kostya Leniuov
105th Airborne
Insertion into Notos State

----------------------------

You have to see the funny side of things in the army. I think they have a real sence of humor in the Defense Producrement, too.

----------------------------

"So," Kostya asks. "How long ago did you put in a request for the Aerial Shock Trooper Kevlar, Sergeant Perinom?"

"Four standard month's," says Perinom, staring out of the dropships crew bay with squinted eyes onto an unbroken plain of snow. White snow, the ASTK Armor was black, aside from digitally placed grey and white squares. "When we got back from Umojen."

"And now they issue it to us? To defend the Eleytherian homeland from invasion? Nearly the entire country's covered in snow!"

"Yeah, but the ASTK has a Nueral interface and if that wasnt enough they packed our Kevlar full so we can take just about anything the enemy through's at us." Another soldier spoke.

"Sure, it'll take a direct hit from a few .50's to put a dent in the armor, but it would be nice to have comfort in camouflage when we hit the ground." Kostya replied.

"We're going to be deployed in a city, Leniuov." Perinom said matter-a-factly. Kostya couldnt see behind Sergeant Perinom's black face mask, but he could tell he was smiling from his victory of 'battle of the wits' between Kostya.

"Yeah, I know jerk. Its still going to be a bleach white city with all of this snow." Kostya said, trying to counter-attack, but it didnt work Perinom was content with his victory and Kostya had to submit. He mearly looked out of the back of the dropship, admired the view, and placed his helmet over his head.

Nearly 32,000 other Airborne troops were flying the same route as Kostya, he didn't know it, that was until he put on his helmet and saw all of the other friendly signatures displayed. He wasn't alone, but he still didn't feel comfortable in black camoflouge even though 31,999 other soldier's were fighting along side him.

OOC: Its June, Kono. Eleytheria-Duo does experience bouts of freak snow storms all through the year, but much less likely during the summer months. Its actually quite green and lush this time of year. Regardless, lets roll with it.

IC:

Night fell. Konoshian Soldiers were landing across the country in their massive landing ships that seemed foreign and vague to the younger Eleytherian soldiers, but the Veterans had little interest in anything that anybody had to offer. Their focus was on victory, not machines.

Weather reports indicated large, cold storm fronts to the west about to roll in over the country within a matter of hours. As if things were not bad enough, Eleytherian military deployment was hampered by the fact that they had little for a fleet left to ferry their troops around the Islands, and the Air was made a dangerous alternative due to the poor weather.

A few days later -- June 30 of 20XX
Clyde River, Nisi Baffin of Eleytheria-Duo
Discovery.

Despite the fact that Socialist Aircraft were within strike range yesterday, the attack never came. Instead, they were blessed with a quiet day and small snow flurries. Today seemed to be no different, save for the black clouds that were rolling across the country.

Inside the Forward Command Post on Baffin Island, General Yanon was reviewing the satellite photos streaming from their Allies. The Socialist fleet was completely motionless a mere 400 Miles off the coast.

It did not take long for the thick storm clouds to obscure the satellites field of view. When he switched to Thermal view, nothing but a large blue and green swirls dominated the screen. Yanon shook his head and began to worry about what lay ahead, if he knew Andrey like he thought he did, the attack could be coming any moment now, and there would be no warning, save for the howling of incoming weapons fire.

Clyde River was the first to experience the surprise of what seemed to be a blockade. Instead of the howling of enemy weapons fire, however, they were greeted by the slowly sinking remainders of the Eleytherian fleet. Four ships, one Carrier, two Destroyers and one Frigate. All of them with massive holes riddling their decks. The Aircraft Carrier was the most amazing sight to see, how it could even still be floating was beyond anybodies guess.

The upper front deck of the carrier was utterly gone, leaving a massive hole on the under deck half way down the ship, not quite to the waterline, while several other massive holes as big as the very planes she was meant to carry dotted the deck and hull.

Several patrol craft and rescue helicopters immediately converged on the scene, airlifting the survivors -- some in critical condition -- to the nearest medical facilities available. Młynarczyk Radojicic, an old Veteran of the Eleytherian Navy, stumbled out unto the Carrier deck, coughing and stumbling.

"Are you all right, Sir?" one of the rescuers asked him, to which he replied "Whole ... Whole fleet decimated, t..to m...many..." in a stutter, summoning all of his strength he uttered "S..Seen transports moving ... towards coast ... They are c..c..coming..." before he collapsed from exhaustion.

They moved him to a stretcher and glanced at one another. "We had better contact the Army..."

Cape Dyer, Nisi Baffin of Eleytheria-Duo
The Beginning...

The freak June storm was brutal, temperatures were thirty below, blizzard conditions were dominating the horizon. Visibility was nothing short of the appropriate word "White Shit."

Eleytherian troops had fortified the positions around Cape Dyer, as it was one of the closest Cities to the Socialist fleet that was now off Eleytherian Coasts. Unfortunately, the ocean was barely even visible due to the extreme snowfall. Ice would be forming any moment, when that happens, they could get a break as smaller landing craft simply could not land. What they didn't know was, their saving grace would be far too late...

A young soldier pointed to the hazy ocean horizon, shouting "LOOK!" as loud as he could, his voice echoing across the snowy valley. Though the thick fog, shapes began to appear, dark shadows moving closer by the hundreds.

Men stumbled in a panic to their battlements, but their trenches and makeshift bunkers was of no use to what came next... A deep and great rumble shook the frigid and icy air as it drew closer ... louder...

Socialist FS-1's screamed overhead, the very Earth beneath the Federalists feet shook with fury. Their faces turning to horror as black objects fell from the sky at alarming speed. People jumped from the trenches that they had once scrambled to enter. Iron bombs exploded around the fleeing men, tossing corpses -- and more -- several meters into the air.

Fireballs arose into the air as massive chunks of dirt fell. Snow melted into a torrential flood of water, filling the giant scars in the soil. The loud roar turned to a hideous screech, the noise was unmistakable, the aircraft were changing course ... the screams of terrified soldiers were soon overpowered by the whistling of incoming shells from Andrey's fleet.

Concussive blast showered the entire region, blowing men to their feet. The landing craft behind them had just hit the shores, 100,000 strong, Socialist Infantry rushed off of their numerous transports and began storming up the embankments, but the worst was not over.

Out of the snowy skies, showers of phosphorus tracer rounds assailed the faces of the fleeing soldiers, massive columns of snow bursting into the air as bullets struck the ground around their feet, the massive bullets ripping friends and comrades apart. Even worse still, over one hundred thousand angry Communists were fast approaching from their backsides.

"Where the FUCK is our Air Force?!" Colonel Adropok screamed at his radioman. "I can't raise them, Sir! There's too much interference!"

Upon surveying the situation around him, the Colonel ordered a retreat from the beaches back to the City, little did he know that they too were only moments away from being bombed by a second Air Squadron already en route...
____________________________________________________________
Cape Dyer City, Nisi Baffin

Citizens within the quiet City of Cape Dyer were oblivious to the conflict that had just taken place a few short miles away from them. Nobody was aware that over forty aircraft were on their way to pulverize the cities military infrastructure and anything else within the city that could prove useful to the Federalist forces.

In the Inotech Corporation Headquarters, people celebrated the dramatic rise in their stocks on the highest floor. That is until one woman looked out of the window and uttered her last words; "Oh my God..."

A missile tore through the glass and exploded in the middle of the office. Fire blasted from the windows and human beings were instantly vaporized. Other explosions rang out through the City as panic ensued, traffic came to a complete standstill.

"Our own planes are bombing us!" was the cry of one woman, to which another citizen merely replied "Those aren't our aircraft..."

The Cities most important infrastructure were being reduced to ash, everything from Gun stores to Gas stations were being obliterated. One such Gas Station, the Cities largest, was being targeted by a Socialist Pilot. He pushed forward on his flight stick, the nose of the FS-1 tipped and his HUD lit up with targeting displays. He pulled the trigger...

Within a split second, a thousand pound Iron bomb crashed through the ceiling of the station and detonated. Nothing short of an explosion unlike anything outside of the military world was forming before everyones eyes. A gargantuan fireball the size of a City block began to rise, fiery shock waves ruptured windows throughout the City and cars unfortunate enough to be caught in the flames were charred black.

The socialists eyes lit up with joy as he observed from his cockpit canopy, a brilliant glow emanated from the blast site as a giant ring of fire spread out in all directions. His joy quickly ran dry as the inferno disappeared from view. With one quick jerk, he aligned his plane up with a major highway and cut loose with his 30mm cannons.

People in their vehicles stood no chance, the high explosive rounds blew cars apart, tore holes through the streets and sent lethal shrapnel ripping through the air. Men, Women, Children, he cared not. They were all Federalist scum to him.

It took little time for the Squadron to expend all weapons on their wing pylons and empty out their magazine chambers. The aircraft roared off into the stormy distance, disappearing into the white haze.

By the days end, over 4,000 civilians lay dead, 800 of which were children, and 700 Federal soldiers had been slain. Not a single Socialist was killed in their surprise attack. The City burned throughout the night as firefighters resources were stretched thin...

Sol Air Force Base, The Snow Peninsula

General Yanon was drawing up defense plans when a fine looking woman walked into his office. "Sir, we have a problem."

The General need not ask what, he already knew. But to what extent, he knew not -- and it was this that was troubling him the most, as no Aircraft had been ordered to take off from Sol Air Force Base. It was not a good sign.

"How bad is it?" He asked plainly.

"We are getting reports of 3,000 civilian deaths, possibly more, and 700 or so soldiers."

Yanon's mouth dropped, "Why the hell didn't we receive word that an assault as under way?"

"I don't know, Sir. The storm in that area was at its worst, it is likely that communications was made impossible by the heavy interference. I doubt that even the Socialists could communicate to one another."

Yanon only shook his head in disbelief... "This is a disaster... Do we have reports on how many Socialist troops made landfall?"

"No, Sir."

Again, Yanon only shook his head as he picked up the phone on his desk. "Begin 24/7 Recon of Baffin Island, especially around Cape Dyer. Launch up our Fighters with Air-to-Surface load-outs and begin an Air offensive on any socialist troop movements, keep them running all night long and engage any hostile fighters in the Air."

Hanging up, he covered his face with his hands at the thought of informing Catherine, who was not at all pleased that the entire Nations navy had been decimated already. Who knows how she would react at the thought of Socialists successfully forming a beachhead without taking a single known casualty or how many there may be.

Regardless ... He picked up the phone once more and carried on with his tasks. It was going to be one hell of a long day...

BATTLE STATISTICS - OUTDATED

OOC: Regular Infantry is the infantry your Nation gets by default (from making a military,) the Conscripts and Volunteers are UNIQUE to this RP only for the sake of giving Andrey a chance, and adding a twist for all the players who want to get involved. Conscripts are, obviously, draftees. Volunteers are merely Citizens whom have taken up arms to fight the threat. Andrey's large bulk of Volunteers are from people who have gone through his "Reconditioning" camps.

Casualties are not just from this first battle but also from the Naval conflict early in the story.

Not all of Andrey's listed equipment is in/at my country, a huge bulk of it is still back at Socialist Eleytheria. This is merely a summary of just how many resources from which Nations are being allocated to the war as a whole. Since the Socialists and the Federalists are fully committed, their entire arsenals are displayed.

14 Miles Northwest of Cape Dyer
Insertion.

The weather reports didn't lie, the June storm was horrific on the fleet of Konoshian Pelican's, hurrying to insert they're 17,000 soldier payload. The storm didn't help with the visibility either, that and it was already pitch black didn't help matters. What was even worse was that radio transmissions from Cape Dyer were sporatic and violent, they probably weren't going to last much longer.

"Hey, Hotel 6 we got a few enemy signatures off of our 8 o'clock, might be infantry. Over." A Pelican pilot radioed in.

"Roger that, Whisky 14, how many tango's? Over." Colonel Vladmir Retinrr replied.

"I'd say they're strength is Battlion sized. Move to intercept? Over."

"Roger, move to Intercept Captain. Over."

"Roger."

The fleet of Pelican's dived left steeply under the smooth roar of the jet's was coupled with the screech of lowering crew bay doors. 17,000 Konoshian Airborne troops poured out of the Pelican's and engaged the small Battlion of Socialist forces. It was clear what the outcome would be, since not only did the Konoshian outnumber the Socialist's, but they had better equipment and training. The Socialist's retreated.

The battle was a small one, the weather was more of a factor on the Konosk troops than the Socialist's were. "14 wounded, no dead, sir." One of Colonel Retinrr's Captain's reported.

"Good, let's get back on our birds. Genovi radio Whis---" A ear-splitting explosion interrupted Retinrr.

"What in the... Dear God, Incomming!!!"

Bullet's and explosions overtook the howling storm wind's. The startled Konoshian soldiers quickly returned fire. It didnt take long for Retinrr to realize that a much large Socialist force was now attacking them.

"Whisky 14, where are you, son?!" Retinrr shouted over the explosions and bullets.

"Say again sir, I can't hear you over all of that wind."

"It's not wind, it's enemy fire!" Retinrr heard the shock in pilot's voice, "Now what I need you to do is do a fly by, see what we're up against. Can you do that Whisky 14?"

"Uhhh, Y-Yes sir, hold on." The sound of the Pelican's engines gave a confident whine as they passed over head the Konoshian's positions and quickly fadded. After a moment the dropship pilot spoke. "Your not gonna like it sir."

"Tell me what you see, god damnit!"

"Y-Yes si-ir! It looks like a handful of APC's, Mobile Artillery, Tanks and 30 infantry plus jack."

The number caught Retinrr off guard. "Say again, how many infantry?"

"30 Plus jack, sir. That 30,000 enemy infantry WITH support vehicles assaulting your position. Do you copy, sir?"

The crack of a bullet by Retinrr's head made him dive into the snow, filling his mouth with the cold ice so he was unable to speak. He quickly cleared the snow out of his mouth, swallowing most of it, and regained the ability to talk.

"Whiskey 14, we need evac, repeat EVAC. We might out class them in both training and equipment but that doesnt mean shit if they outnumber us!"

"Roger, coming about for evac."

Surge.

"Are these numbers correct?" Lev'le said in an atonished voice.

"Unfourtunatly, 150 dead, 1,200 wounded. If they hadn't had gotten out of there sooner it would have been much worse." Zaroff said, looking at a small after-action report.

Lev'le swept back his hair, sighing. "Seems we underestimated this Andrey."

"It would seem so." Zaroff said, locking his eye's with Lev'le's.

"Don't give me that look, I know what I have to do."

"I know. It's not up to me." Zaroff said, getting up. "But if it were I'd send over Half a Million of our finest soldiers to fight this Andrey."

"500,000? That seems much too large..." Lev'le said discontented.

"Is it? Our latest reports said that his military is over 12,000,000 soldiers strong. Mind you that's well over our 2.4 Million traditional infantry and 1.9 Million volunteers." Zaroff scuffed at Lev'le's arrogance. "500,000 soldier's is too little if you ask me but I don't beleive the international community will take kindly to us sending over that to the Eleytherian's."

Lev'le considered it. It was true they needed more forces over there, the 49,000 currently over in Eleytheria-Duo needed some seroius back-up if they we're actually going to consider not being totally over-run by wave's of enemy soldiers.

"Alight, 500,000 it is."

OOC:
500,000 Infantry
5,400 APC's (Or Light Armor in this case)

In an official released statement:

The Incorporated States of Zeelar is well known to support a legion of both interregional, and intercontinental stability. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that the nation of Zeelar shall be remaining neutral in this conflict as per the status quo.

However, we too field the burden of labor. Therefore, in the interest of the eternal class struggle and conflict that has so furthered the Bourgeoisie control over the Proletariat working soviet, as well as in the tradition of trade freedom of the seas and land, Vad Bodok will forever support this revolution no matter how long it has to drag on. The revolutionaries are free to purchase supplies from us at will.

We too field the power of industry. Through capitalism and personal wealth, the horrors of a proto-industrial society can be done away with and through social strata, a sense of order can be restored. A lack of resource equality encourages competition, and in this spirit and under the same breath as the above text, Vad Bodok, the glorious Zeelaran capital, will forever encourage trade against the counter-revolutionary factions.

"What?" Catherine said in disbelief, just receiving news from Yanon. "You are trying to tell me that our forces withdrew from the battle, the Konoshians intercepted and were REPELLED by a LARGER force than their own, and that Cape Dyer is likely completely surrounded by now?"

A Presidential Aid walked into the office and laid a small folder down labeled "Konoshian Troop Surge," quickly flipping through it while listening to Yanon, it asked for her Signature to OK the Surge for Lev'le. Quickly, she put pin to paper and established her signature.

"I understand, Yanon. It's just I don't like this at all. You say that an entire Konosk Regiment met and was defeated by a Socialist military force 30,000 strong... And that was only to the south of Cape Dyer, our forces were repelled to the North. How large of a force do you believe we are dealing with here?"

"My God ... All right, I'll let you get back to your duties, Yanon. Keep me informed, I will be heading to Taloyok to oversee its defenses. Yeah. You too. Bye."

July 1 of 20XX
Cape Dyer, Nisi Baffin
Siege of a City

The storm had lightened up from yesterdays hellish pounding, but still the weather was terrible ... The temperatures were in the negatives, but visibility had cleared greatly. That did not comfort those bottled up in Cape Dyer City, which was extensively bombed yesterday.

Colonel Adropok was the officer-in-charge of the Cities defense. As his forces were chewed up after yesterdays fiasco, much of the City was left undefended. Instead they formed a tight circle around the inner section of the City in hopes that their stronger presence in a smaller area would be harder to combat than a weak presence over a wider region.

Little did they know that they were surrounded by over 100,000 Socialist soldiers that wanted their blood. The meager 15,000 Eleytherian soldiers stood no chance whatsoever against the massive force that would inevitably converge down upon them...

6:15 AM

Alan Kinguyakkii, Inuit by blood but Eleytherian by spirit, sat atop one of the damaged towers in Downtown Cape Dyer. The view was magnificent, most of the City could be seen, in fact. But the unmistakable smell of burnt sulfur permeated the blackened tower.

As he was admiring the view, one of his comrades joined him.

"Alan. What the hell are you doing up here. Aren't you the least bit worried about the 3-story wide hole under your feet?"

Kinguyakkii looked up at his long time friend with a grin; "Should I?"

"Hoodamn straight you should," he replied, sitting near the edge of the tower. "Its a great view, beautiful scenery. I normally wouldn't appreciate these kinds of things, you know, but when your faced with the possibility that you may die ... The world becomes so much more amazing, how much you may notice that you had missed before," he sighed and shook his head, "I can't believe we came all the way from beating these bastards during the first Civil war, to fighting the assholes again, a second time. We should have just killed that sick bastard when we had the chance."

Alan laughed. "Yeah ... I've thought about all of that too. How gravity works, why the sky is blue and the snow is white ... And the best part about all of this is, I am not getting some ridiculously long explanation by those geeks back at Kugaaruk University."

They both laughed. For now, all was quiet, calm. There was nothing to fear at the moment, and the sight below was great. Some time had passed as they discussed simple matters. Things that the average person would talk about.

But what caught their attention was a large black line moving through the North and south roads. Alan jumped to his feet and pulled out his Binoculars. What came into view was beyond anything he had ever seen before in his life... Battle Formations... Men grasping rifles, Tens of Thousands of them, were marching straight towards their location.

The two men looked at each other for a split second before they burst through the unhinged doorway and flew down the stairs, almost tripping over their own boots in the process. By the time they had made it to the lobby, they were almost breathless.

"Go go go go go!" Kelvin shouted almost incomprehensibly, "We've gotta tell the Colonel!"

The two soldiers rushed with all their energy, storming across the street to where their commanding officers were planning the Cities defense. They rushed through the door, almost ripping the door from its hinges in the process. Colonel Adropok and his staff merely stared at the two young breathless gentlemen. "You have something to say, Private, Corporal?"

"Yes, *Gasp* we do, Sir!" Kelvin said breathless. "We were in the Inocon Tower when we spotted large troop movements to the North and to the South."

With a nod, Adropok grabbed his rifle and arose to his feet. "Socialists..."

"Your orders, Sir?"

"What the hell do you think? Ready yourselves for combat. Get our snipers along the four corners of our battle lines and try to radio Sol again."

"Yes, Sir!"

They swiftly fled the building, the Colonel radioing to his men; "Suspected Socialist Columns approaching from the North and South, ready yourselves for combat."

9:37 AM
77,000 Feet
Recon 14

FS-1 Pilot Stanley Hagner had dreamt of being a Fighter Pilot all of his life, and he got his wish at a young age. One of the top 25 pilots in Eleytheria-Duo, he was at this moment the Eyes and the Ears of the Phoenix Squadron, the best Squadron of the Republic, perchance even the world. These men knew no fear, they pushed themselves and their aircraft to the absolute limits for God, Country and more. Stanley knew his role as a reconnaissance pilot well, if the enemy were to be found, it would take only twenty minutes from Track Identification to Target Lit, to Target Destroyed.

"This is Recon Fourteen to Sol, I've been up here for over an hour and there's still nothing. Awaiting instructions, out."

"Roger, Recon Fourteen. This is Sol. Turn to heading One-Four-Niner and survey Urban Areas, out."

"Ten-Four Command, Out."

The weather was clearing, and visibility began to slowly climb. Cape Dyer, the large gray blob below, seemed deserted. There was not a car moving in the road, and most of the Citizens that had not fled into the wilderness were hiding in their homes, hoping ... praying...

At the flip of a switch, his reconnaissance sensors activated, and the observation camera lowered from the nose of the aircraft. It was much like a telescope, with the eyepiece to his right, all he had to do was turn his head to view objects down below. So fine was the detail that he could spot a single Eleytherian Phi laying on the sidewalk. Slowly, he lowered his airspeed to 177 mph, his aircraft became heavy and cumbersome to move due to the low air speed, but it was far more easier to make accurate observations of the ground.

Scanning Sivudlerk Road, he found little but debris and abandoned cars. Finally he approached the North part of the city. Putting his eye to the eyepiece, a massive ground force came into view, moving inwards towards the City Core. He radioed Sol. "Command, this is Recon 14. Socialist Presence confirmed in Northern Cape Dyer, and from the looks of it they are moving in battle formation. Federalist troops are likely to be defending the City Core. Air Support may be of strategic value here. Out."

He looked into the eyepiece once more, watching and observing the battle column. In the blink of an eye, a blur flashed through the view. He pulled his head back from the eyepiece "What the hell was that...?"

He scanned the skies from his canopy but spotted nothing. Just as he was beginning to relax himself from the unnerving experience, his instrument panels came ablaze with warnings; Radar tracking, Radar contact, Missile targeting, and Proximity warning all began screaming at him, each with their own unique tone.

"OH SHIT!" he screamed, jerking violently to the left, and then to the right trying to shake whatever had fallen behind him. Looking into is rearview mirror, another FS-1 -- certainly not friendly -- was swerving and matching his every move.

Punching his afterburners, his speed exploded from 177 mph to breaking the sound barrier in moments flat. He knew all too well that the FS-1 sacrificed armor for incredible speed, maneuverability, and large weapons payloads. If either aircraft, his or his adversaries, managed to put a burst of 30mm into one another's hulls, it would be all over. Worse still, a direct hit from a missile would blow the entire aircraft into pieces.

Quick thinking set in as he switched to arm one of his two Air-to-Air missiles and switched his Radar into rear tracking mode, what made the FS-1 so incredible, besides its speed and agility, was its ability to track, target and engage enemy aircraft behind it.

His HUD clearly displayed his Radar tracking the enemy aircraft, trying difficult to achieve a lock, but just like his adversary, neither could achieve one due to the violent motions both aircraft were undertaking to prevent their destruction.

"Screw this!" he shouted, as he took the aircraft into a horizontal spiral, cutting throttle and hitting his air brakes. The Socialist whizzed passed him in complete shock at the incredibly bold move. With the swift flick of his wrist, Stanley slammed his afterburners on and took pursuit of the Socialist that was now fleeing westward across Baffin Islands vast plains.

In hot pursuit, he flipped his Radar tracking to forward interception, a reticule appeared on his HUD and began to circle the Socialist fighter, Flickering between Green and Yellow as it tried to achieve a tracking lock. "C'mon, you Pussy!" Hagner shouted in frustration.

Suddenly, his reticule lit up red and a steady tone was audible. Just as he thought this engagement was over, a missile from the Socialist plane flew over its wing and came straight at him, squealing in terror, he jerked and rolled his aircraft, breaking the missile lock. But he saved his plane from certain destruction.

"Oh, you sure as HELL just condemned yourself to eternal damnation now, buddy!"

Motioning his thumb, he switched to his 30mm Cannons and lined his aircraft up and fired a burst, a brilliant golden stream screamed over the left wing of the Socialist craft, but no hits.

His adversary took a sharp left and dived to the now rugged canyons below. Before being able to switch back to his missiles, both the Federal and the Socialist was now only a few hundred feet above the ground, violently breaking left and right to avoid cratering the canyon wall with their gild and guts.

The canyon narrowed even tighter, but straightened out, the socialist was now trapped ... Stanley lined up his gun sights, and fired...

A series of bright flashes dashed across the posterior of the Socialists aircraft, the glow of the engines faded and the aircraft began to smoke, slowly drifting to the right, slamming into the canyon wall in a ball of fire.

The first Air-to-Air kill in history of the Second Eleytherian Civil War -- belonged to the Federalists...

"Wooo-hoo-hoo-hoo!" he shouted in joy, watching the sparkling debris in his rear view mirror. He pulled out of the canyon and darted westward, returning to base in victory.

As he was flying across the channel, a large Air Squadron of Federalist Aircraft shot passed him. It was a magnificent sight, over 100 fighters were screaming towards Cape Dyer to help their troubled comrades. The war was on, and the skies never looked more beautiful...

Stanley smiled and said to himself; "Its a fine day to be a free man..."

Cape Dyer
Urban Upheaval

Federalists hunkered down in whatever shelter they could find, staring down their gun sights, waiting ... finger on the trigger and bullets in the breach. It was do or die on the ground.

Off in the distance, the heavy footsteps of armies marching grew louder and louder, small debris and pebbles vibrated on the ground below. Fear gripped the Federalists, they already understood that they were outnumbered about 6 to 1. The Odds were extremely demoralizing.

Soon, the silhouettes of people came into full view, soldiers affixed their iron sights on the moving shadows and grasped their trigger, waiting, praying for the right moment to present itself...

Shadows turned to figures, and the uniforms of the soldiers were plain for all to see, white camouflage with red collars bearing a hammer & sickle. The Federalists quickly squeezed down on their rifles, streams of bullets criss crossed the streets. Sprays of blood gushed from the bodies of the Socialists, plopping to the ground in pools of red.

Everybody ran for cover as the torrential gunfire became overpowering, the city echoed with pandemonium, and the fine coat of snow was stained with the blood of both Federals and Socialists.

The whole city became a light show, muzzle flashes dazzled windows across the City core and phosphorous trails hurdled and ricocheted off of walls and sidewalks, wails and screams added to the horror unfolding.

Machine gunners expended belt after belt of ammunition, sawing mortal men in half and killing human beings where they stood. News reached the Colonel that the Socialists had broken through the Southern defensive postures and were storming towards the heart of the City Core. Things looked black.

While fighting continued in the streets, one soldier looked to the skies as the sonic booms of aircraft came from both to their east and to their west. Moments later puffy trails of white smoke hurdled past one another and explosions dotted the sky when Socialist aircraft met Federalist. Cape Dyer had become both a Land and Aerial battlefield, bullets whizzed across the horizon and the deafening roar of jets fighting overhead became overwhelming.

Civilians that were still within the City fled in the middle of the chaos, many caught in the crossfire. Damaged and destroyed aircraft plunged into buildings and streets, the entire Urban area was ablaze in smoke and haze. The turning point arrived when one Federalist Fighter took his craft in a dive and unleashed his two Napalm bombs upon advancing Socialist forces in the south.

With a great *Foom,* inferno tore through the streets, red and black clouds began to rise. Socialists screamed in agony, running through the streets with their clothing burned to their skin, people falling dead where they stood from the terrible heat.

The slaughter was terrible, blood soaked the streets and storm drains now ran red with streams of gore. The Socialists fled at the overwhelming resistance that they met, falling back to secondary stations throughout the City.

Both Socialist and Federalist aircraft began strafing the streets with their cannons when they were not busy annihilating one another. Finally, both sides were exhausted from the fight, the two air squadrons broke battle formation and returned home, while the soldiers on the ground attended to their wounded.

Despite the fact that the carnage was beyond belief for both sides, this fight was far from over ... Neither side could claim victory, even if Cape Dyer still flew the Eleytherian flag one more day...

OOC: Mind if I get involved?

OOC: I don't see why not. That is unless you can give me a reason to not get involved.

What is it you were thinking of?

OOC: Just wondering if you would mind thats all. I'll be with Konosha and is it okay if I use my only 200 BESERKERS? I'll be suppling troops and armor, not in massive amounts but a good amount.
IC:

Damn Socialists, always the seems to rise again and again never dieing like the snakes they are, always biting your ankle when you turn away. The Three Families had minor problems with Socialists before and knew that if they had a country of their own they would spread their twisted government to Menhad. This could not happen, would not happen.

"Get me a line to Catherine, and offer our aid. We have troops on Konosha that can deploy right away, our BESERKERS are ready too." McCandles stated to the rest

Cape Dyer, 2:23 PM

Rescue

Two Konoshian Pelican's gracefully sped low to the roofs of destroyed houses, overlooking the damage that was still transpiring. It seemed like the Federalist's and Socialists were concerned with only one thing, death to the other soldier. It looked like both sides had taken some pretty heavy casualties, with Andrey's forces having sheer numerical power. But it wasn't the two armies that had taken the most damage, it was the people of Cape Dyer. They're bodies littered the streets, Men, Women, Children. There was no end to their suffering, except the fact that the Konoshian soldiers in the Pelican's were there to rescue some of the stranded citizen's, if only a few.

"Charlie 2, looks like theirs a clearing up ahead. We're going to set you guys down there and circle around the area. Tell us if you see anyone." The Pelican pilot instructed. "Oh, and if there are any Socialist's, lemme know, I'll send a 20mm rocket up their asses."

"Roger, Charlie." Lieutenant Tericho chuckled. "Just don't leave us hanging, even though there isnt much action in this part of the city, it could heat up, and I don't think that 18 Konoshian's would like to die with their asses in the air."

Tericho liked the thrill of battle, especially if he was out-numbered and had to use more then just a gun and fist. His large beard on his face is not uncommon for Konoshian's living in the Northern provinces of Konosha, even if they are only 23.

"Alright, hang on we're gonna be touch and go!" The pilot said. He simultaneously pressed a button on his control console, lowering the back crew bay door, allowing the 9 soldiers inside to spill out. Along with the 9 soldiers a JP8 Shadow Light Recon Vehicle dropped from a clamp holding it securely from the back tail of the Pelican.

The second Pelican did the same, having the same number of troops and dropping an identical Shadow for the Konoshian forces to occupy. The Shadow could carry a maximum of six Konoshian soldiers, but its peek performance ability was three, all the same two teams of three already manned the two Shadows.

"Alright, lets get out of the park and into the streets. Remember we're here to get Eleytherian's out, not fight the ones that are already here." Tericho said over the Platoon radio. "First Sergeant, we're going to be moving up the street's with six soldier's on one side of the convoy, and six on the other side covering the flanks. I want you to stay with the Shadow at the back, and I'll stay with the one up front so if we get separated we have some form of command on both sides."

"Understood, sir." First Sergeant Perichov replied.

The small convoy of Konoshian soldiers smoothly, yet silently, moved onto the scorched road. They went slow, so the scanner's in the Shadow could detect any feint body heat from the already burning buildings. The convoy did this for about 10 minutes, with no sign of any Federalist's, civilian's, or Socialists... Something was wrong about it.

The lead Shadow halted, the soldier monitoring the heat scan had found a large grouping of people, but some of them were armed.

"Lieutenant, look at this sir." The soldier pointed out. "Looks like the armed soldier's are Socialist's, not many of em' either only about 7-8, lightly armed, only AK-47's and PKM's. But what's more interesting is tha--"

"There's Civilian's too." Tericho interrupted.

"Yes, sir. Thats what I wanted to point out. Looks like they are Prisoners."

"Well, our mission is to get Civilian's out, if we have to kill that's just a bonus." Tericho smiled with a large beared grin. "Now, if they only occupy that small building the in middle of the intersection, it shouldn't be too hard to flank them from all sides once we flush them out."

Tericho looked around for a second, trying to find good places to take up positions until he final requested the aid of First Sergeant Perichov.

"Well, sir, I think the best plan is to move the Shadow's into positions on either side of the intersection, create a kill zone, and use our infantry to lour them out. A good three men team could do that, and while the three soldiers are louring them out we use our remaining strength to go around to their backside and eliminate the remaining tango's." Perichov suggested.

First Sergeant Perichov was Tericho's goto man for situations like this. They had served together in the Konosk-Umojen war, and had found since then that they complimented each other greatly. Now they were in a quite nearly blown up city, trying to evacuate Eleytherian citizen's, it was a great place to be for them; they thrived on the carnage.

"Alright, then it's settled. Staff Sergeant, you'll lour the Socialist's out, while we hit them from behind, okay?" Tericho said. "I don't need to tell you that danger, but that's what your here for."

"Yes, sir. You can count on me."

The Shadow's we're already in position when Tericho and the remaining 8 soldier's reached the back of the building. He noticed that it was this small two story building that was the only one left standing in the intersection. The surrounding building's were all rubble, didn't give his small team much cover. It wouldn't matter though, because if everything went as planned they wouldn't need the cover.

"Okay, now Sergeant!" Tericho whispered over his radio.

As soon as he said it, three soldiers fired a burst into the building, scream's and curses from the soldiers and civilians soon erupted. It didn't take long for five Socialist soldier's to emerge from the house, only to realize to late that they faced more then just three retreating Konoshian's. The whine of the two mini-gun's on top the Shadow's mearly spelled doom for the foolish Socialist soldier's who had taken after the Konoshian's.

As soon as Tericho heard the stream of lead exit the mini-gun's barrel he was already at the back door of the building. He turned the knob, it was locked, he quickly fixed that by pulling around his Battle Rifle and sending a three round burst into the door knob, blowing it apart. Simultaneously Perichov kicked down the door, and with four other soldiers, stormed the building. Tericho entered the building just in time to see one of his troopers, equipped with a Bianchi A6 LMG, cutting down the two remaining Socialist soldiers with a smooth, clean, burp from his machinegun.

The bodies fell to the floor, one nearly completely cut in half from the A6's fire, each bleeding profusely.

"Oh, God! Konoshians!?" One of the bound Eleytherian's screamed.

Tericho looked at the Eleytherian, and smiled, he probably put more fear into the man then he did security but it didn't matter. "We're here to save you, friend." Tericho said in a heavy Russian accent.

The Eleytherian's looked skeptical, they didn't know if they could trust the Konoshians. Tericho probably wouldn't trust an Eleytherian if he was bound, scared, and in the middle of a war zone too. Even if the Eleytherian was an ally, he too would be skeptical at best.

"Well, you don't have a choice. Our orders are to evacuate any citizen of this nation from this city and transport you to a safe location, off of the island." Tericho said, taking off his helmet to better communicate.

The Eleytherian's began to warm up to the big Konoshian, realizing more and more that Konosha was an ally, not an enemy. Tericho quickled gained their confidence, it wasn't hard, who really wanted to stay and wait for more Socialist's to come by and take them prisoner?

"Okay, we got a large sum of people here, twelve, or maximum is ten." Tericho said to Perichov, putting on his helmet again. "We're going to have to make two trips."

"Unless they can learn to stack on top of each other." Perichov joked.

"Indeed, alright let's head bac-" A bullet slammed against the side of Tericho's helmet, sending him to the ground and disoreinting him.

"Fuc-! Mo-- -ove!" Perichov said, Tericho's hearing went in and out, along with his sight. He could see the Shadow's covering the retreating soldier's and civilians but he didn't know what was going on. He didn't know where he was, hell he didn't know who he was until he finally faded into blackness.

------------------------------------

3:00

"Lieutenant!?"

"Lieutenant?"

"W-Wha?" Tericho said illiterately. "What in the Hell happened...?"

"We were ambushed." Perichov said coldly. "No one got hit, only you. Shadow's managed to scare them off with the mini-gun's long enough for us to take shelter in this building."

Tericho looked around, it was surprisingly intact compared to most of the other structures, it looked like it was a small business ferm.

"Do they know we're here?" Tericho asked, holding onto the broozed sized of his head that had developed a large lump.

"I don't think so, we stored everyone up in here pretty well, even parked the Shadow's in a garage just next door."

"What about evac?"

"We radioed in, we should be getting picked up any moment no-" The low whine of two Pelican's came into hearing.

"Ahhhhh, music to my ears." Tericho said.

It didn't take long for the others to take notice either. As soon as the two Pelican's landed, the Civilian's were the first to get on, all twelve managed to fit but no room for the Konoshian soldier's meant that it would take another thirty minutes before they were picked up.

"We'll be back in two shakes of a lamb's tail, Lieutenant."

"That's not fast enough!" Tericho yelled into his helmet, smiling.

"Ahhhh, shut up you damn army!" The pilot said, revving his jet's upward and taking off.

Perichov walked up to Tericho after the jet's went out of view. "I can almost assure you the Socialist's will be all over us in a matter of minutes, that was a pretty loud evac."

"Yeah... I know. Well makes things interesting." Tericho said, grinning at Perichov.

------------------------------------

Meanwhile...

Over 50 Jet airliner's, carrying 500,000 Konoshian soldiers into Eleytheia-Duo, entered Eleytherian airspace. They were Konosha's response to Andrey's attack, and the response was that Konosha would be retreating no longer.

Derby City, Socialist Eleytheria
Rantings of a Madman

As with all weather around Northern Australia, it is subject to sporadic bouts of rain. Today was one of those days. Andrey was cozy in his personal quarters with a warm fire and a glass of Vodka. Reading through the reports coming from Eleytheria-Duo, he could not help but smile.

The bulk of his armies were not even in Eleytheria-Duo yet, not by a long shot, but the Federalists have done relatively little to drive his forces from their soil. With intelligence indicating that the Konoshians were bringing in heavy forces to combat the glorious Red Revolution, he could not stand idly by while the supporters of Corruption grew stronger, no ... He needed to take action.

He pulled himself from his chair and walked to his desk where his phone lay in wait. He called David Vandergrist for a special purpose; To take command of Socialist Eleytheria in his absence -- he was going to Eleytheria-Duo to oversee the battle operations personally.

"Hello, David? Yes. I will be taking a little trip to the North America within the week. I am leaving you in charge here in Socialist Eleytheria while I am away. Be sure to keep in touch with the Topaz. Thank you."

Hanging up, he grabbed his jacket before summoning his Pilot to airlift him to the Docks. His Fourth wave ( two other, smaller transport fleets had already left for Eleytheria-Duo and should be arriving within days ) was about to set sail for North America.

The flight was a comparatively short one, but he arrived just in time. 300,000 Socialist soldiers lined the Docks, climbing aboard their transports destined for lands beyond these shores. Lands they called their enemies. Over 800 transport ships were moored in harbor.

Andrey scoffed at the idea of having no privacy on his journey, but he was eager to stick his finger in the eye of the Federalist Government once again. His helicopter touched down smoothly near the docks, it was time for a vacation...

Konoshian Crackdown

Socialist Lieutenant Gregor Gavanilvich received word of Konoshian forces attempting to evac civilians out of the City. More still, the Konoshians were still there. With a little luck, this should be a piece of cake...

More over, Sergeant Alimovski wanted to lead the attack against them. It seemed like child's play. "Sir, with your permission I would like to strike the Bourgeoisie Bastards."

"Granted, Sergeant. Take 500 men, circle the area, and kill them by whatever means necessary. Oh and take this," he said, handing the man a small radio, "It links directly with the Klaria Fleet. If you need the help, they've artillery shells awaiting targets. I am sure they are ... anxious ... to squeeze off a few rounds. And it'll save us the trouble of being shot at."

The Lieutenant nodded and went to gather his forces. The hour was nigh to send the Konoshian bastards to hell, come Commies or High Water, the fools would be driven from ANDREY'S City...
