OOC: This thread was started so I can do something on the side and so people can get a better in depth look at my characters, it'll explore many avenues of people in both high levels of Government and also just the average Eleytherian citizen going about their day to day lives.

You'll understand what they think about other countries, possibly yours, and how they go about managing their business, be it a citizen running a coffee shop or the president sending a clear message to another state leader, military or otherwise...

This is something I am starting to do when I am bored or have nothing to do, some will be good reads, others will undoubtedly be boring, but just so I can spark your interest in this... I'll let you make the first choice whom I will write about.

The choices are:
1) Random Eleytherian Family (Anywhere in the country)
2) Willow Heraclitus (JAUST Representative)
3) Andrey Puzankov (Mastermind of the Eleytherian Civil war)
4) Catherine Nerdinskaya (Vice President)
5) Hans Bossenmaier (Governor of Asian Eleytheria)
6) Michael Stolarski (President)
7) Yanon Nummirit (Supreme Commander of Armed Forces)

If a majority of you guys think this is a bad idea, I'll let it die, but if not, I'll do everything I can to make it worth your while.

So ... whom shall it be?

I might be able to do both at the same time, but the posts would be miserably long.

3 for Catherine so far.
2 for Random Eleytherian Family.

OOC: All right, were gonna do Catherine first, assume her to be speaking in Russian in her early years of life and that I am just translating it.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Name: Catherine Svetlana Nerdinskaya
Place of Birth: Syzran, Soviet Union
Date of Birth: November 15, XXXX. (Age 39)
Religion: Genesian Catholicism
Occupation: Vice-presidency of the Federal Republic of Eleytheria-Duo
Marital Status: Single
Children: 0

Introduction to Catherine's Past:

Catherine was born to a lower-class Russian family in the small city of Syzran of the Soviet Union. At an early age she took fascination with the Space programs of the USA and USSR, but also, which was rather unusual for woman in Russia, in politics.

By the time she had reached the age of 15, she knew over 1,000 laws of both the Soviet Union and United States by memory alone, and also every space flight ever launched. At the age of 18 she studied at Moskva University where she learned to speak English and German. After she graduated, she found a job filing and censoring paperwork at an Embassy in East Germany for the SED Party.

She helped keep the peace between East German and West German forces during two separate occasions, and for her successful attempts at negotiation she was awarded the Order of Lenin and the Order of Friendship of Peoples by the KPSS (CPSU). She still has these awards to this day.

Soon after, the German Democratic Republic collapsed. She moved back to Syzran for a time before being transferred to Moscow for political duties representing the USSR at private meetings and discussions on the Warsaw Pact.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union on December 25, 1991, she moved to the United States to find new work. She made residency in Portland, Oregon for a considerable amount of time where she began to look further into politics and law.

She became an attorney and was very successful, however when the United States and Canada dissolved, she fled to Nunavut, Canada where she met a forming Government that would one day be the party that founded the Republic of Eleytheria-Duo...

The past through Catherine's Eyes: Part 1
Early Years of her life...

A sleepy and lazy Catherine opened her eyes to the early dawn light shining through her window, gently warming her face. When she looked at the clock, her eyes opened as large as Ruble coins when she realized what time it was. With one swift motion she threw herself to her feet and proceeded to dress into her daily clothing.

She rushed into the kitchen and founder her mother, Katya, and her father, Anatoly, were waiting for her. 'Morning, sleepy one,' her mother said, putting down a hot meal on her plate and pouring a glass of fresh milk.

'Good morning, mother, father,' she kindly replied, sitting down to eat her breakfast. She could tell her parents were depressed by the looks on their faces, today she would fly to Moscow, and it would be likely that they would not see her again for a few years, and her father had a hard time working due to his many scars and old battle wounds from his experience in the still raging Soviet-Afghan war.

'Its going to be cold today, Catherine. Make sure to take your coat.' Anatoly said. 'I will father, don't worry. What did Lyubov say about the car?' Catherine asked with curiosity. Her father hesitated for a moment with a frown, but then grinned and replied 'We've got the car, brand new.'

Both Catherine and Katya began to smile, 'We do?! That is great news...! Don't do that to me again...!' she said with a grin, tapping her fathers shoulder for making it seem as if he did not get the car.

They all let out a laugh and enjoyed their breakfast. 'You did not loose your plane ticket to Moscow, did you Catherine? That piece of paper cost the family twice as much as the car did.' her father inquired

'Do not worry, father. I still have it,' she gently responded. Katya looked up at her daughter, saying to her in a caring voice 'You know, Catherine, there are other Universities you can study at. You do not have to go all the way to Moscow.'

'I know, mother. But I want the best education I can, I know we are barely getting by as it is, but we can afford this education. And maybe ... maybe I can put it to good use, bring in a little extra revenue for the family to live easier,' Catherine replied.

'I know, my dear, I know. And we support both your decision and courage, it is just...' Katya paused.

'But what, mother?' Catherine asked with a kind tone.

'Well, because you may be gone for several years. We'll both miss you. We care for you, my dear, we just want to see you carefully through life.' Catherine's mother replied. 'I know you do, Mother. I know both of you do. But I cannot stay with you forever, as much as I would like to, life goes on,' said Catherine.

Katya rubbed Catherine on the cheek with her hand and smiled, 'I know, my dear ... I know...'

'Its getting late, I need to get to the airport before I miss my flight. Father will you drive me?' Catherine asked, 'Of course I will, my dear,' he replied 'Have you packed your things as you were asked?'

'Yes, they are all in my bedroom. I'll get them.' Catherine responded to her father, 'No, no. I will get them, stay with your mother for a moment.'

Catherine looked over at her mother, she looked depressed, saddened by the turn of events that were transpiring. She responded by hugging her, 'Tell my brother and sister I love them for me, okay Mom?'

'Of course I will, dear,' she replied, kissing Catherine on the forehead. 'Be careful for me, sweetie. Have a good time.'

'Lets go, Catherine' Anatoly said, carrying four suitcases out the front door. Catherine walked around the kitchen counter, grabbing her coat off of the clothing hanger proceeded out with her father, helping him load the cases into their old car, its paint beginning to chip from the constant use and battered by the weather.

As they finished, Catherine and her father got into the car, Anatoly turned the key, starting the clanky and noisy motor. Katya walked outside and waved a final good-bye to her daughter, and Catherine responded by gently blowing a kiss towards her mother.

'You know, I am proud of you, Catherine. Your growing up to be a woman now, an intelligent and beautiful one, I have no doubt you will be a successful person in life. But inside me and your mothers hearts, you'll always be our little girl.'

Catherine smiled after hearing what her father had said and replied 'I know, father. You two spoiled me as much as you could, but now I want to make something for myself, with my own two hands I want to try. I know it wont be easy, but I have to try.'

'And I never said I would try to stop you, in fact I believe you are taking the right step in life. Both me and your mother had a chance to get a good education but we let it slip by us, and we lived hard lives. We both want to see you live a decent one.'

The two talked back and fourth and over a half hour had passed before finally arriving at the Syzran Airport, as they pulled into the parking space, Catherine and Anatoly stepped out of the car and grabbed whatever luggage they could carry.

Catherine and her father checked into the airport and worked their way to the plane terminals, it would only be moments before she would be on her way to Moscow, the Capitol of the Soviet Union.

Anatoly looked over at Catherine and said 'You know, its not too late to turn back if you do not want to go through with this, Catherine.'

Catherine replied 'I know, father. I am a little nervous, but also excited, I will go through with it anyway.'

'That's my girl...' he said, giving her a kiss on the forehead and wishing her luck.

Catherine's flight was called, and she said farewell to her father and headed to board the plane...

The past through Catherine's Eyes: Part 2
Early Years of her life...

Catherine's wait on the plane seemed like an eternity ... She could not tell how long she had been waiting in her seat because she did not own a watch, she only waited patiently for the large Tupolev airplane to move to the active runway.

Finally, after half an hour of waiting, the aircraft began to rumble as the four massive propellers began to power up, slowly the aircraft moved down the taxi-way with a slight vibration in the fuselage from the old worn down runways of Syzran.

Finally, looking out the window, Catherine could see that the aircraft was aligned with the runway, the lights to fasten seat belts came on, moments later the gigantic engines roared, vibrating the aircraft as they picked up speed. Soon, as she looked out the window again, they were off the ground and the hydraulics that powered the landing gears could be heard under the plane, raising the wheels. She was on her way to Moscow.

As they gained altitude, she could see her small home city grow more distant, surrounding the city was vast farmlands as far as the eye could see, the small houses down below were barely visible and the expansive Volga River stretched out before her.

Two Hours Later, they had arrived over Moscow. She looked out of the window, awe struck at the size of the city, from the ground it looked like any other city, but from the air, its sprawling massive size, filled with millions of residents, was a new view she had never dreamed to see before.

After landing, she knew exactly what to do, and did not hesitate to do it. She was far afield from her home city, now would be a bad time to make mistakes, especially after coming this far, it was too late to turn back now. She headed to her next destination with haste.

At the end of the day she completed most of her important tasks including tour Moscow University, but was too tired to do anything further, classes would begin soon, and she had to be ready -- and well rested.

On her way to her room, she could see fireworks shooting up into the air, celebrations from the successful modifications done to the Mir Space station.

Catherine stood there for a while, watching the colorful display, but eventually continued on, she was too tired to be worried about anything else but sleep. 'Twas going to be a long night...

*Sigh* 'I am going to bed...' she said to herself, walking into her room and slowly taking her coat off.
