I know I can't really come after anyone, but that really doesn't matter. Flumes can attack anyone and feel revenged... B) And while LCL may have the backing of the order, dare I question the current power of the order?!?!?! :ph43r: :gnarkgnark: |

You really shouldn't. Even CE couldn't do that and come out alive, assuming he;d even know what the Order is. |

Let's just say the Order is unimaginably powerful and leave it at that :ph43r: :D Anyways, once the plague hits Africa, your country doesn't need to be affected. As I stated in my post, the conspirators aren't looking to provoke any country, that is why they are releasing the plague in the anarchic, unoccupied part of the map. It would be counterproductive for the conspirators to enter a conflict with any country, because they simply want to conduct the research unmolested. You could simply prevent the plague from entering your country by sealing your borders. |

OOC: I have conceived of an even more insidious plot: after the cure is discovered, then the Order purposely infects the populations of major nations, so that these nations are compelled to sign expensive pharmaceuticals contracts buying the plague medication from the Order. At the moment though, the Order is trying to keep a low profile, and will not try to spread disease or cause disorder in the nations that will potentially be customers for the cure. |

Karna Veta wouldn't do that in Durick Veta, because the place is already infected and they couldn't risk the public relations scandel if it ever leaked. They would do it anywhere else, though. |

I'm thinking a public-relations stunt may be best for Flumes. Infect a small amount of the population, possibly some prisonors? Go to the international community devestated, of course overstating the amount infected and failing to mention prisonors were in fact the unlucky ones infected. This hopefully draws some foreign aid, and some sympothy in relations as well. By infecting a small group of isolated prisonors, I can of course miss out on buying the expensive vacine. Realistically, sealing my border would be next to impossible, much of it is in the heart of the Congo. Rainforest is hard enough to guard against people yet alone rats. So infecting some citizens is probably likely... |

"We have some interesting news to report, Dr. Cornelius," the installation supervisor said in an excited tone. "We have found that one of the men infected with the new plague disease is successfully fighting off the infection on his own. As the days have passed, the sores on his body have begun to heal over and his temperatures returning to normal. His immune system seems to be superior to the other subjects we have." "Excellent... perhaps a cure is finally within sight," Dr. Francis Cornelius replied from the video screen in glee. "I will immediately inform the President. Study this man, Samson... find out what it is in his antibodies that is allowing him to fight off this horrible infection." The video screen then promptly went blank. Samson turned to face his assistants. "You heard him. See to it that the man in Room Five is studied more extensively. His blood holds the cure!" |

The outbreak of the plague was taking a terrible toll on the Republic, people were falling dead left and right, a cure was nowhere to be found, resources were pushed to their limits to ensure that supplies were reaching infected areas, and the nations coffers were running at an all time low. The country was desperate for help, but none was coming -- Eleytheria was becoming increasingly isolated, even the nations own allies began to turn their back on her as she fell increasingly into the grasp of the Plague. This sense of isolation was making the Republic think twice on relying on her allies for the aid she needed, instead the country would work to become independent on the matter, if the others provide supplies and medical goods, than all the better though. Testing was just getting under way on a serum that would slow down the rate of the plague, and to give people at least a fighting chance to beat the infection. It showed promise, but was far from being deliverable in humans yet. CURRENT PLAGUE REPORT FOR ELEYTHERIA-DUO KNOWN PLAGUE INFECTIONS: 518,755 ^ PLAGUE DEATH TALLY: 48,916 ^ |

Ottawa was in ruins. When the plague had hit the former Canadian capital, few were prepared for it. No one had thought that the plague would get past Quebec. It had, perhaps not from Quebec directly, but it had. And it was devastating. There had been no time to set up enough Quarantine Hospitals to deal with the number of plague reports. Those who hadn’t gotten into the few such Hospitals were left to die in the streets, spreading the plague to others. This wasn’t like French Veta. The French, although they had taken high losses, had been able to control the situation to a point. Ottawa had no such control. Most of the rest of Ontario had been spared Ottawa’s fate. Like in Quebec, most major companies had ceased moving people in and out of Quebec, major road owners had blocked off their roads, etc. The government hadn’t had to lift a finger. The few in Ottawa who had prepared were riding out the plague, stocked with supplies. Most of these people were extremely wealthy. They waited in their mansions while the rest of the population was dying. David Robinson was himself riding out the plague in the home of his friend’s father’s house. His friend’s name was Ben Frank, His family had been friend’s of Ben’s family since before the two of them were born. Last year the Franks had won five million Americos (roughly ten million USD) in the lottery and had used them to buy a mansion in Ottawa. David and Ben were both sixteen now. When the plague had first hit French Veta, Mr. Frank had gathered his family’s ten closest friends and their families and had organized a plan should the plague come to Ottawa. They would all stock up on food and supplies, bring them to the Frank’s mansion, and wait the plague out there. There was enough room for the thirty-two men, women, and children who would be living in the mansion, easily, that plus the butler. So everyone was doing great. They had enough food for nearly a year, had power, everything. The mansion was large enough to give everyone his or her personal space, but small enough that the parents could keep an eye on their children. It was perfect, except for one problem. What was left of the non-infected of Ottawa had formed mostly into gangs, desperate for food and supplies. These gangs were violent-and they saw the Frank’s mansion and wanted in. They had shot out the Frank’s windows, attempting to kill those inside. David was nervous that the gangsters would get into the mansion…that would be bad. Very bad. David walked by one of the windows-actually ran by. The less time you gave them to shoot at you, the better. The gangsters didn’t shoot. That surprised him. He shrugged and walked to the first floor for dinner. Dinner was pork. Real pork. Real food hadn’t run out yet. That was good. All the windows to the dining room had been shot out. However, none of the windows gave a shooter an angle into the room, so it was safe, or so it seemed. Halfway into the dinner, a shoot of a gangster could be heard. Out of one of the windows came a grenade. David’s eyes widened. Than spikes pierced them. *** Report on the Plague: Note: We would like to apologize for earlier estimates. Our estimates were too liberal and were also created by typos. We now have more exact numbers. Emergency Quarantine Hospitals Ready: 903 EGHs in Use: 221 Patients in EGHs: 132,681 Dead in EGHs: 9,180 Aprox. Reports of Plague: 5,108,900 Aprox Deaths Related to Plague: 715,000 |

The Government of Caronicilia had been panicking, even though it's acses were under control. Already, the population of Tann Ziel had dropped some 50% or more, but other than that, Caronicilia was not very hard hit. Work on finding a cure had been put into the works, but none had been found yet. Now, the Caronicilian Government was willing to play an active role in the curing of the disease that began wihtin their nation. As such, the following statement has been issued from the Ministry of Public Health: To all people of the world: The Race for a cure is on! Already, recent outbrakes have began to kill millions worldwide. Step by step, this new plague has made it's way to several nations, and killed an inumerable amount of sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, husbands, and wives. Now, we feel that it is our duty as human beings to step up to the plate and combat this threat that has been claiming so much. We feel that now is the time to congradulate those on a job well done, should they be able to find a cure. As such, we are now willing to offer an incredible chest of 300 billion dollars up front for any unit capable of discovering a cure to the disease. This reward discludes the unavoidable sum of money that will also be made by selling this cure to hospitals worldwide. We feel that it is a generous reward for helping humanity to survive. The Government was nervous about paying so much money, however hoped that the process of creating a cure would be accelerated by the prescence of reward. |

OOC: This has been going on long enough and no one seems to be answering the call to end this, and I have permission to produce a cure. So be it. IC: Kugaaruk City Medical Lab Research had been going on for months, the plague had killed over a million Eleytherian citizens, luckily the Quarantine measures helped keep those numbers from sky rocketing even higher. Finally however, a medical breakthrough had been achieved. A new chemical drug, partially toxic to humans in large doses however, was produced to combat the Plague. When administered in moderate amounts, it provides the immune system with a powerful new toxin to fight the virus. The drug was simply being called 'Blood Storm' of which 20 vials of the serum would be transported to Caronicilia, Durick Veta, and Kasnyian Pacifica to speed up analysis and production. Message to all Plague Infected States Eleytheria-Duo has found a cure for the plague, it is lethal to humans as well in large quantities, so moderate doses must be given at a time. However we guarantee that survival rates will rise from 5% to 70% with the treatment of this drug. For those on the verge of death, we cannot guarantee its success, but hopefully with some luck, they will live to see another day. We are preparing 20 vials for each of the following regions; Kasnyian Pacifica, Durick Veta, and Caronicilia. Examination of these vials will help these territories produce the drug for themselves and speed up production. We request that Kasnyian Pacifica, which has not yet been affected by the plague, donate 98% of all of its production reserves of this drug to the hardest hit of nations to prevent unnecessary death. May God be with you all. |

Goreprime Enterprises Public Announcement An alternate and safer treatment has been discovered and labeled as a new antibiotic. Afraid that the Eleytherian cure may kill you faster than the plague itself? Concerned that such a lethal means may have longer, lingering effects on your health? Well look no further, for Goreprime Enterprises is willing to sell you this antibiotic that we've named Dazicfirin. Discovered during the toil of the plague's height in North America, Dazicfirin offers a safer recovery than Eleytheria's Blood Storm toxin. Dazicfirin has met FDA approval, unlike Blood Storm and therefore is more highly recommended. The supply of Dazicfirin remains at a limited constant stock, only so many vials can be produced at time, so the price remains at an all time high. Goreprime Enterprises will sell Dazicfirin to infected nations for $90,000.00 a case. Each case contains 50 vials of Dazicfirin. One vial can cure a single person of the new plague. Operators are standing by for your order. |

We Congratulate Durick Veta on their defeat of the Plague, we also Congratulate the United States on their own cure. We are, however, rather alarmed at the price they are selling it for when so many people have been infected, although manufacturing is slow and tedious of Blood Storm, and its potential lethal affects against those who were infected for prolonger periods of time, we can ship a similar number of vials for only 10% of the price. For those who do not have the cash to afford such a high price, Blood Storm will be sold for 9,000 dollars a case, with the same number of Vials as the American Counterpart. Remember; it does present risk, but for the families who cannot afford the more expensive drug, it may be their last hope. If you can afford Dazicfirin, we recommend purchasing it, rather than Blood Storm. Statement from Eleytheria-Duo --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Secure Transmission To: The United States From: Eleytheria-Duo With the revelation of this new drug 'Dazicfirin,' our wealthier citizens may prefer to use it over Blood Storm, the Government of Eleytheria-Duo would like to purchase 275 cases of this drug as soon as you can ship them. We will pay you the $24,750,000 USD that the total amounts to. Funds will be wired directly into US Accounts. Thank you for your understanding. |
