Just outside of Tann Ziel The forests were gloomy, and the recent fog bout had kept most outside of it. While the city was gloomy, life in Tann Ziel was proceeding as normal. Sure, traffic accidents were a little bit higher than tey normally were, but hey- fog usually brings that on. Either way, Tann Ziel would soon become a town engulfed by a mystery, and three unsespecting hikers were going to discover it's origins. Lukas, Lenna, and Timm had been hiking in the Tanneske Forests since they were young, and had discovered several interesting locations throughout the forest. They had blazed many a path, and 'discovered' several out of the ordinary places. One of their favorite places to go was the Gelve Gorge, and several of their best memories had occured their. Honestly, however, they never followed it all the way through. That was, they'd never followed it until today. Perhaps it was the mystique brought about by the fog or the emptiness of town that persuaded them to do it, but as they continued down the stretch Timm spotted a cave. "Lenna, Lukas..... Have we ever seen this cave before?" "Nein, Timm. Perhaps we should go take a look at it? Add it to our que of places we have been?" Lukas was adventerous, and had been sice they were all just small children. Now, his sense of adventure was sure to get them in trouble. Taking Lukas's suggestions to heart, the three entered the cave. Lenna pulled out an LED flash light- a valueble tool for any hiker during the night time. Although it wasn't night, the cave was nearly pitch black inside, and the fog really didn't help much either. Entering the cave, the light began to illumnate a clear view of the insides of the cave. It looked pretty bare of life, visibly housing no bats or vagabonds. Still, however, being inside the cave gave off an aloof feeling of paranoia. They made their way deeper and deeper inside the cave. It was wide, and it appeared to have once housed something, as carvings on the wall pointed out. Suddenly, a rat ran across Lenna's feet, and she let out a small scream. She dropped her flashlight, and it cracked open. The batteries rolled down the slight slope of the cave, and with the lack of light they became impossible to find. "Damnit!" she yelled, realizing what she had done. A few more rats scurried around the cave's floor as Timm struck a match. While it certainly was no substitute for the LED light, it was at least something. With all the air's moisture, however, the matches frequently burnt out. The group tried to work their way out of the cave. Slowly making progress, they eventually saw the light at the end of the tunnel. Soon, however, a carving caught Lukas's eye. He instantly grabbed a match from Timm, and struck it. He held it close to the wall as his mouth fell open. The carving on the wall depicted dead bodies filling the cave. Several rats ran across the bodies, and Lukas noticed distinct rashes and deformities on the people's bodies. He quickly called the others over. "What do you make of this?" "I'm... not sure...." Lenna was a little squeemish, and the images certainly didn't help. She stepped away quickly. Timm took a look, and shrugged it off. "Man, I can't believe your getting so worked up over it.... it's just a stupid carving. In fact, I'd go as far to say they were carved a few thousand years ago. The fact that your even considering it is kind of funny, actually," Timm always was one to make light of a situation. "Lets get out of here though.... wouldn't want any cave rats to eat us now, would we?" The trio left the cave, and trekked their way back through the forests. They would then get into their normal car, and take their normal route home. They'd go about their normal daily routines and bring about something quite out of the normal to Tann Ziel. The disease now had a carrier. |

A Tourist from Reliance City was visiting Tann Ziel as a getaway from the every day life back in Eleytheria-Duo. His name was Bryan Lawrence, he had arrived in Caronicilia to see the sights and flirt with the German ladies, little did he know that he would get a taste of something that definitely did not have any pleasure behind it. As he was packing up to head back to his homelands, he went to the local store to pick up some keepsakes to remember his visit by, perhaps a bottle of fine champagne for himself and maybe a few figurines for his little sister. On his way to the storefront, someone ran right into him in a hurry. He dropped his sunglasses from the impact. "I am so sorry, Sir" the teenager said. "No problem at all" Bryan said, shaking the hand of the boy. Little did he know that he had just been infected by the young lad Lukas. As he purchased what he went there for, his hands came in contact with money and was passed across the table, only to be handled again before being put away in a cash register -- to be spread some more. He drove to the airport and grabbed hold of his flight back to Eleytheria -- the virus was now flying to a new country... --- To Be Continued -- |

A young Kasnyian bussiness man by the name of Ruprecht Ritter was on a flight from the Reich where he had just started his new bussiness to Eleytheria. He would stay there for a few days before he headed back along the route to the Reich, and then to Ziyer where a factory was to be built in Vallisburg. He didn't know that the same flight was carrying a one Bryan Lawrence, who was infected with the virus. |

Minister for Health and Security Jean-Paul Deval had just heard some troubling news about a new virus developing in Caronicilia. He thus went to the Prime Ministerial Office and briefly met with the PM and told him about the developments. Prime Minister Florent Andrzejewsky told him not to publish any document yet in the media or officially, because it would lead to a sure panic among much of the public. He thus decided to stay informed by the DGSE agents about what was going on, and informed the PM that any person coming from Caronicilia shall be checked meticulously to be sure that he's not contaminated. The secret memo to all airport and other transport officials was clear, it said the following: "Search all Caronicilian nationals. Stop. Important virus outbreak underway there. Stop. Don't allow any close contact between Caronicilians and anybody else. Over". |

OOC: On top of the fact it's not supposed to be public yet, the virus is delayed, there wont be any side effects right away. This means that by the time any side effects would even be visible, chances are this virus would be in several countries by then. If GNF want's to be infected OOC, it is quite possible that some contaminated people in Eleytheria travel to GNF. GNF is a popular tourist attraction, likewise I would think that Eleytheria would be a popular tourist attraction to the French, were both very close in terms of borders and relations, but at the same time two almost opposite cultures. |

OOC: Indeed, news has yet to become public, however, I'll be doing so later tonight. If you'd like to become involved, PM me on how to do so and I'll gladly answer. At this time, however, unless you have constant surveilliance on this cave and know exactly what's in it, you wouldn't know anything about it. |

Pretty soon, people began to turn up dead. But they certainly hadn't died of causes that should have hit them. It wasn't their time to go. Massive boils and hideous stenches covered the bodies of the poor souls who were found dead. Their eyes had turned dark- the whites of every single dead man's eye had turned solid black. The expressions on their face were all petrified- clearly they had died in much agony. Melain Hoch was one of the several emppolyees at Nemburg Mortuary who were assigned tot he autopsy of the dead. Working with a team of about 5 others, they all looked like they were astronauts about to go to space. Their protective wear was fully concealing, and their masks looked as if they belonged to deep sea divers. Their breath was all heavy, as they looked with relative fear at the dead bodies. It was confirmed that they had died of sickness, but what sickness might that have been? No disease had brought about the Darkening of the eyes, the gigantic boils, or the putrid smell all at once. It almost resembled the bubonic plague, but that disease was extinct. Or had it evolved? Melain wondered. Either way, when they cut open the bodies she almost lost her lunch. The organs of the dead people had nearly melted all the through, and upon being toughed by any instrument they ruptured almost instantly. The report lead the government to take action almost instantly. The city of tann Ziel was closed immediatley, and a warning was issued to the nations of the American Continent. Adress to the Region, 8 February, 2007 Recently, 32 bodies turned up dead in the city of Tann Ziel. At this time, our sciences point to an unidentified disease as the cause for the deaths. Unfortunatley, the situation has escalated far beyond a reasonable level. The city of Tann Ziel is in an epidemic. We have estimates that some 100 people have been infected, and we do not see that it will let up any time soon. As such, we issue this warning to the nations of the world. If we want to keep this situation contained, it is vital that the nations of our immediate region keep alert on all persons entering their nations from Tann Ziel. If we want to prevent this from becoming a global pandemic of a deadly kind, decisive action is needed now. We offer cooperation to any nation wishing to help us in our quest, and hope that we get cooperation in return. ~Official message from the Caronicilian Health Ministry. |

OOC: Caron, I noticed a flaw in your post describing the actual outbreak of the plague, the Bubonic Plague is NOT extinct. Animals -- especially rodents -- around the world are infected with Plague as we speak. However, treating the plague is generally not a problem in "developed" countries. Anyhow ... I'll wait a little bit longer before I actually RP the symptoms beginning to take place in Eleytheria. In the interim, I will offer aid. IC: Text-only Transmission To: Caroncilian Authorities From: President of Eleytheria-Duo We offer medical supplies and health specialists to aid in finding a cure and easing the suffering of the infected victims, all we need to ship the supplies and personnel is your authority to enter the Nation. |

OOC: Yeah, but the cure for the Red Plague was a cop out. IC: "So you flew in from Eleytheria?" the USA customs officer asked as he reviewed the passport. "Yes sir," the tourist replied nervously. He had heard tourism in the USA had grown difficult since Mount Weather and Goreprime Enterprises took control. Security here was very, very tight. Anyone from outside the borders was viewed suspiciously. "Very well... proceed to fill out these forms while I imprint your Tourist Ident Card," the custom's officer stated flatly as he pushed a few video buttons on an LCD screen. As the tourist filled out a bunch of papers that assured the US government he was not a criminal or terrorist, the machine nearby punched a name into a card that had the Goreprime Enterprises logo printed on it—the Tourist Ident Card. The officer took the card and handed it to the tourist. "This card is linked up with the Beast Computer. It will track your whereabouts and activities while you're here in the US. It must be on you at all times. Understand?" "I understand," responded the tourist as he slid his palm over the card. "Are you done with those forms?" asked the officer. "Almost... hmm... hmm... okay... here." The tourist handed back the papers. The officer looked over the forms for a moment, then handed back the man his passport. "Enjoy your stay in the United States of America. You may go." And so the tourist left the desk... and his germs. |

Should any Caronicilian person have any action other than Quarantine or peaceful living taken upon them, we can gaurantee it will not end well for the NAN. Hopefully, it will not come to that, but the slaugfhter of our citizens, infected or not, is something taken extremely seriously by our government, and we can assure you it would be a decision the NAN would regret. |

Any Caronicilian citizen found in Assassin Territory will be treated with the utmost of respect and given full medical treatment should they show signs of illness. Medical screenings must be contucted however, before entry into Assassin lands. Our nation also offers its aide in combating this outbreak. Our colony of Henraeld has several medical facilities that should suffice. Caronicilian natives are more than welcome to travel to these facilities for free medical screenings. We will use all data on this outbreak in hopes of creating a vaccine. -Praetor Hicks. ------------------------ Tal Shiar Chambers: Koval: "I want a sample of this virus. It could be a useful weapon against our enemies. Send some operatives to this nation and see if we can aquire some subjects who are infected. Once we have a suitable sample, execute them and burn the bodies." ------------------------ OOC: You are more than welcome in having this spread to Henraeld. Also, the Tal Shiar part is secret, and not generally know. Even to my Praetor. |
