OFFICIAL RESULTS OF THE LEGISLATIVE ELECTIONS OF WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 24TH 2007 Welcome to this special edition of 20:00 o'clock news for the official results of the legislative elections, my name is Thierry Lagarde. The Socialist Party, along with its allies the Republican Movement of the Citizens and the Left Radical Party, have won by a landslide. Here are the official results: PS-MRC-PRG: 39,45% Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image UMP: 15.10% Posted Image UGDF: 10.22% Posted Image PCF: 11.10% Posted Image Les Verts: 8.51% Posted Image FN: 7.20% Posted Image MPF: 4.20% Posted Image LO: 2.25% Posted Image LCR: 1.00% Posted Image There has been a massive turnout in this election: 99.03%. The Socialist Party, thus alongside with the MRC and the PRG have successfully been elected and will be in charge of forming the new government. Some speculate the Communist Party of Great New France might also get a seat, but that is yet unclear. What can be seen from this election is a great blow to Prime Minister Nicolas du Cresson de la Chardière's policies: the people did apparently not think him that his decision to leave the Holy League was enough, and many have criticized him for just doing cheap populism. Here is now Florent Andrzejewsky, leader of the Socialist Party, giving his victory speech: "My fellow compatriots, comrades, friends, distinguished members of the press, it is a great honour for me today to be here with all of you. We have won a great victory for our Nation, and make no mistake, we have written a crucial page of its history altogether. We will now work hard to form a credible government for our Nation and it will include all different sensibilities and it will be as representative of all our people's feelings and preoccupations. Prime Minister Nicolas du Cresson de la Chardière has left our economy in ruins, our social security system totally destroyed, increased the number of unemployment by more than 10%. He led our Nation to leave the Holy League, which we approved totally, but how can we trust a leader that was such a devout follower of a Pope whose nothing but a megalomaniac, ego-centric, warmongering fool? We will not allow any threat or attack against our Nation, and my fellow compatriots, you can be sure that we will do our best to protect our Nation and all of its people, and we will work alongside our allies in JAUST, in the Acadian League and other international fora such as the United Nations to confront the common threats to our security and stability. We will decidely make our economy more productive by cooperating by all spheres of our economy, the corporations, the trade unions and the government working in unison. We will do our utmost to promote respect and cooperation between all those branches. The welfare state shall be re-established for all our citizens and we will do our utmost to help our poorest and most deprived citizens. We will carry on the important reforms you have all strived for: a re-nationalisation of the social security and energy shall firmly stay public, legalization of gay marriage and the right of adoption for LGBT couples, legalization of pornography but under firm regulations not to allow paedophiles and criminals to exploit the weak. A general ban on smoking will also be decided and a bill will be passed in parliament in that respect. Furthermore, we will firmly follow the precedent policy of being a secular State, and furthermore, we shall introduce a bill banning all conspicuous religious symbols from schools, religious symbols shall have no place in public arena, but can be used in private areas of course. We shall stress the point that this is not an attack against any religion, whom we have an awful lot of respect for, but it is just to promote a just balance in our society, and that best balance is expressed by a total and thorough separation of Church and State. We will also push forward an important issue: a referendum shall be organized in a few days or weeks regarding the Constitutional status of our Nation. It will consist in asking all of us if you want our Nation to remain as an Empire or become a Republic, with an elected president. Regarding international issues, we shall direct a foreign policy based on mutual respect for all nations of the world, to continue to establish diplomatic relations with all of them, to continue to promote peace and stability on a worldwide scale, and to do our utmost to strengthen our alliances we belong to, beginning with JAUST which is of crucial importance for us. We will try to promote understanding and the concept of peaceful co-existence with all other international organizations and alliances, including the Holy League, whom we had qualms before but we do believe that it is in all of our interest to try to work together for a better future. We will also try to put special emphasis on having the legitimate government of the United State of Israel come back to charge, and we shall thus grant no recognition to the illegal entity that is the "United Kingdom of Israel". We shall direct our attention in strengthening our ties with the other Middle Eastern states, and aim at concluding a major agreement with the OPEMEC in relation with our oil imports. On defense issues, we will continue to promote a strong military for our Nation, it is the guarantee of our safety at home and abroad, and we will thus pass a law in parliament re-establishing compulsory military service: it will help in installing important values in our youngsters, such as discipline, authority, solidarity and fraternity. Thank you all for being here, my dear compatriots, comrades, citizens! Long Live Great New France!" That was Socialist Party leader Florent Andrzejewsky, thanks all for watching, and goodnight to all of you. |

Very rigged. Also, it's amazing how a fervent and eager member of the Holy League, and therefore Genesian Catholicism, so quickly embraces secularism. |

Eleytheria-Duo is glad to see that the election turnout was at an all time high and that the elections were fair and honest, the people have spoken and shall be led by a new party. We are however slightly alarmed at the level of propaganda that the winning party has shouted to the world, the "Red Revolution" that we had suffered almost a year ago started out with similar such talk. We will remain vigilant to any happenings in our neighbors land. Eleytherian Foreign Relations Spokesman Richard Aldersman |

Statement by the Foreign Ministry of the United Kingdom of Israel: "This is just another proof which backs our policy regarding the evil French Empire - we call once more for the nations of the world to sanction Great New France in every way possible, including the breaking of international relations, until their rogue, corrupted, and illegal regime will be totally and completely replaced." |

Our Government thanks our Eleytherian allies for their words. We stress the fact that our political party, in concertation with its coalition members, will pursue moderate policies in all areas, and will obviously restrain from extremist ideas: we are not in a quest to change totally our system, we want to make it better and more efficient nonetheless. Our Eleytherian allies, along with everyone, can be assured that we do sincerely mean what we say, and we furthermore look forward to peaceful and healthy relations with all countries of the world. Kasnyia will not comment on these elections. OOC- Why bother with a poll if you were going to rig the elections anyway? |

In otherwords, you made a useless thread, since our pinions didn't seem to matter at all. Also, you never sufficiently described what each candidate would do.only their political tendency, many of whom were similar. <_< |

Wait a second, I've never said that the opinion poll was a real election poll, that would make any sense. It's an internal matter, an election happening in my election, plus as you've clearly seen, if what you guys voted was accepted, I would have gotten the far-right in charge of my nation, with the aim of having Israel destroyed and persecute my minorities... |

I have to agree with GNF on this one, it's a lot better to have a moderate leftist party in power than either of the far sides, be it far right or far left. |

The symbol. May change the flag eventually, but right now I like the black and the red and eagle. |

Kas I think I can get you an eagle that's gold, or I can make it look silver -- which ever you prefer. Putting it against a red and black background is but a simple matter -- I have a few tricks up my sleeve to make it look like cloth too. |

The Government of Durick Veta offers mild congratulations to the socialist party. However, we cannot applaud your ideologdy. Please note that several corporations of Veta have cut off all dealings with the French government because of this recent election. -President Jason Essex The NLA condemns the new tyrants of France. These are the same men who appointed Proust to Veta! We refuse to believe that these elections were legitimate. We believe strongly that they were rigged. Even if they were not, a government that oppresses its people is not legitimate, whether elected or not. Remember, Hitler was elected. -General Edward Bird of the National Liberty Association The French government is supposed to be secular, not athiest. I do not understand this banning of religious symbols in public. There is no reason to stop sincere believers from proudly wearing their religion on their sleeves. That is a principal of freedom of speech, no? -Pope Clement VI |

Our Government condemns vigorously such racist slurs against the members of all our Nation and will therefore cut ties with Esternarx until a formal apology is given. We cannot tolerate such behaviour in public, we are utterly outraged: it is not only an affront and attack against our Nation, the Empire of Great New France, but an attack against all member nations of the Acadian League, and we hope to hear support from our allies against such slurs. The NLA demands the end of racist oppression of black people in the ally of France, Antebellum South. While I condemn these racist comments by the Esternarxians, as I am myself a quarter French, I think words matter a lot less than actions. Blacks in the South are oppressed and refused equal rights. -General Edward Bird of the NLA |
