The Jupiter Energy Corporation, a joint subsidy of ZEMEI and GERZ, has announced that the recently completed Jupiter Energy Complex in Unidan will start energy distribution by the end of the month. Due to the abundance of the energy produced, it shall be offered at an as yet undosclosed price. Thank you. |

With the Jupiter Energy Complex having been destroyed during the war and GERZ now being defunct, ZEMEI has announced that intends to rebuild the Jupiter Energy Complex. To that end, the ZEMEI leadership is looking for a partner in the project as well as a new location for the plant. The energy output of this facility would be enough to power all of Europe. OOC- In other words, if you want to have a stake in European energy distribution, lets make a deal. |

OOC: A business deal? Venice will want in, of course. Just where to put the project... oh, I know! Just on the Venetian controlled outskirts of Rome! Block their view. Nah, more likely at the base of the Alps. IC: Tèjo, a leading supplier of energy in all of Venice, requests an audience with ZEMEI to discuss a possible cooperation in the reconstruction project. Originating in Venice itself, the company has tackled various challenging tasks for supplying energy to citizens in a mostly out of sight yet efficient manner for years. As Venice expanded, so did the company, building extensions to their lines through much of Italy. With Venice now running into border constraints, Tèjo is looking to expand internationally and ZEMEI's Project Jupiter seemed the perfect opportunity. |

OOC: Who better to monopolize energy than the Russians! IC: Gagarin Energy, based in St. Petersburg, Russia would be interested in beginning discussion with ZEMEI over the possibility of a joint venture into European energy. A company that traces its roots as far back as the 1930s, Gagarin Energy prides itself on its longevity as well as its outstanding commitment to service. Posted Image |

OOC- Three companies, that'll be interesting. I shall meet with them all! Bids are still open for any who still want to join. IC- To CCIF- We will send a representative to Milan at once. ---------- To Tejo- We will send a representative to Venice at once. ---------- To Gagarin Energy- We will send a representative to St. Petersburg at once. OOC- Now how to RP this... |

OOC: A new thread here in the 'Resources' sub-forum? As in, just one thread where your representative talks to my company first, before moving onto Telo's, then onto NRE's.

One thread for all the negotiations to take place. No need to open multiple threads for it. This is a totally open-ended plot. Whoever makes the thread first gets first bite at the apple. And I am now intrigued with possible conflict between Att and Telo over this, though IC, ZEMEI would look down on that. |

OOC: Whoever makes the thread first? Why not just continue from here, if all negotiations are going to be in one place anyway? For how to RP this, Kas, I would suggest retconing the representatives and instead invite us to ZEMEI to make presentations in a meeting where all are present. It'll be like a diplomatic meeting, just, instead of everyone trying to accomplish peace or something, we're all trying to one up the other. |

OOC- I'll just have the representatives sent give you hand delivered invitations to come to ZEMEI. Prevents me from retconning. IC- Each representative gave a handwritten invitation to their host directly from Hugo Frietz, who had become chairman of ZEMEI after the war. |

CCIF Director Marius Pubis Corenius confidently met his host in ZEMEI headquarters, eager to land another large contract for his company. CCIF was one of Porcu's largest businesses and one of the world's largest energy conglomerates, with operations in every continent and major offices in trade and financial centers such as Hong Kong, Milan, and Atlanta. |

"Good day, Mr. Corenius," Frietz stated as the man entered his office, "Let me not waste your time with small talk. To business..." With that he brought out proposal sheets and pictures of the original Jupiter Energy Complex. "We once had these complexes located in every continent of the world," he explained, "The war changed that of course. Whatever the Dominion didn't capture for themselves, they destroyed, with the exception of Jupiter, which we had the pleasure of destroying outselves ahead of Gassel's advance into Europe. And so we will be rebuilding it. Construction costs of the plant, along with operation and ownership of the plant itself will remain with ZEMEI. What we need is a partner who can run the energy grid that will connect all Europe to the plant which, I assure you, is more than enough to power every country in the region threefold. We also require someone to market the energy. After expenses, we wish to split the profits 50/50." |

"A most reasonable proposal." Corenius noted. "As you may be aware, Porcu itself carries a global presence, especially in the fields of trade, commerce, and finance and an abundance of different languages are to be found naturally within her borders. CCIF is the best positioned for marketing and, due to the number of different languages taught and spoken in Porcu, would not make even a minor error when it comes to promoting our joint venture. "As for the energy grid, CCIF regularly provides consultative services to numerous city governments in Porcu and even to national governments in cities such as Singapore, Mutina, and Juvavum. CCIF manages its own facilities with the best resources and has one of the most sound administrative and organizational resumes in the world." |

This particular facility will serve only Europe. We have similar plants being rebuilt in other regions. We may do business with you there, but for the moment we need to establish the grid here in Europe. Which countries can you get online immediately and which will require negotiation? OOC- Those who are competing are still in the open, and if they can offer better, go for it. If not, you can compete for contracts in other parts of the European power grid not covered in the deal made with the winner, or compete with ZEMEI's other projects and powerplants in other regions of the world. |

Obviously, Porcu is on board, but CCIF is well positioned throughout France and Belgium, as well as Northern Italy and the Scandinavian interior. Having been under control of the Republic herself or strong allies of Porcu, CCIF has been able to establish and maintain a certain level of operations and can be quickly put online. Expansion into the English Republic is in its final phases, but negotiations will certainly need to be conducted with the territories lying south of the Pyrenees. The Holy Roman Empire is also another nation that should be negotiated with. |

OOC: Tired and don't feel much like reading through anything... I apologize if I step on some toes. IC: "Téjo is currently the leading energy supplier for all of Venice. We have lines running from France to Dalmatia and south to around Rome. This network keeps up with the demands of the majority of Venetian citizens. We still own some old lines in Iberia, in former Venetian provinces. Venice is not the only location where Téjo has a presence, however. All countries on Venice's borders use some measure of Téjo's energy to varying degrees. This gives us a strong presence in all of Southern Europe. Still, Téjo has recently begun seeking contracts and opening negotiations with farther away lands with some plans commencing even as far as Russia. Having a nuclear powerplant would instantly boost the likelihood of these contracts being successful. As for where such a plant could be constructed, Téjo owns a good property safely away from main centers of civilization at the foothills of the Italian Alps. A geographically centered location for a powerplant destined to supply all of Europe would be ideal. Hooking this plant up to Téjo's near, and soon to be, continental network is a simple, cheap, and quick procedure." |

OOC- Uh.... Make sure you read the terms ZEMEI is offering to see if you'd accept. IC- In another meeting at another time from the one taking place with CCIF, Hug Frietz met with Tejo representatives. "An already extant network is a good asset to bring to the table," Frietz said as he pulled out the terms of ZEMEI, "I presume you are fine with the terms?" |

OOC:
These are the terms, right? Téjo is fine with this, so long as they can still operate their own lines independently. All benefactors of the powerplant's energy will be categorized separately in Téjo's customer list so that the profit can be split appropriately. It's a good bargaining chip to expand Téjo's customer base and reach, which garners income both from the 50/50 deal with ZEMEI and their own lines. Edited by Telosan, Dec 6 2010, 06:24 PM.

OOC- As long as those lines aren't connected to the grid that ZEMEI's powerplant is on, or ZEMEI will ask for 50/50 of that as well. But you have to negotiate that out in IC. And I had forgotten to respond to Porcu, so here it is. IC- We like what you have so far, and we'd like to accompany your representatives to observe these negotiations in the Holy Roman Empire, Eastern Europe, and the British Islands. |

"Your representatives are more than welcome to accompany CCIF officials. As I mentioned before, negotiations should go smoothly and I do not anticipate any problems. As I understand it, CCIF is not the only one seeking this joint venture and since you are quite busy, no doubt, I believe I will close with that. I thank you for your time and do hope that ZEMEI sees fit to choose CCIF for this partnership." The Porcuian exchanged a firm handshake before humbly bowing and departing, confident that his company's history and performance would speak for themselves. |

OOC: Don't feel rushed to respond Kas, I almost forgot about this myself  IC: Prince Vladimir Gagarin was among the last of the representatives to reach the bargaining table with ZEMEI. He'd heard that both a company out of Porcu and one from Venice was also lobbying for the job. Naturally, the Prince believed his aristocratic background gave him a natural edge over his competitors as well as the fact that his company was among one of the oldest in Europe. That said, nothing was certain when it came to these types of negotiations and he knew he'd have to bring his A game if he wanted to land the deal. An idea he did keep in the back of his mind however, was a possible negotiation with the Venetian company. If some sort of partnership could be forged between them it could greatly increase their chances of landing the deal. Prince Gagarin was shown into a small conference room where he waited until at last a representative of the company arrived. No doubt this poor man had been meeting with company representatives all day long. "I am sure comrade that the company has kept you busy all day long so I will not bore you with idle chit-chat" said the Prince with a chuckle. "Gagarin Energy is the oldest energy company in Russia, among the top energy companies in Eastern Europe, and certainly one of the oldest in the whole of Europe. Inheritors of the old Soviet energy infrastructure, we've made vast improvements during the time of the Neo-Roman Empire and even more so under the Russian Empire. Serving all of Russia in an almost complete monopoly, we also investments in varying degrees within friendly countries to the Russian Empire such as neighboring Draxis, the Roman Empire, and Catalonia. We are even in talks with the Venetians, talks I believe will go smoothly given our ties with the Venetians as well as our government's promise to give equal opportunity to Venetian companies. A bit of competition never hurt anyone after all" The Prince Chuckled some more before continuing. "I understand this power plant is naturally only for Europe and the Russian Empire can offer the Novaya Zemlya Archipelago as a building site location. Far from Europe, it would be an ideally safe location should the unthinkable occur. We have a few detention centers in the archipelago already and have an extensive network of underwater power cables that current supply the island with power from the mainland. This can be reversed naturally as well as expanded, at a cost Gagarin Energy would naturally pay for, so as to make the site location the most ideal. Also keep mind that while limited since the Georgian War, Gagarin Energy does have some investments in Transcaucasia which could be used to help open up the Middle East should ZEMEI be interested, along with Russia's allies of the Roman Empire and Alexanderhaven."
