The President had thought long and hard about the benefits of Nuclear Energy, the large Uranium Reserves that Eleytheria-Duo possessed were simply rotting away, why let that happen when it could be put to use? She was to release a statement to the world within the hour ... Eleytheria would officially become a state that utilized the power of the Atom for it's Electric Grids. Although she knew the construction of a Reactor core was already long under way before this public address. ------------------------------------------------------------ Citizens of Eleytheria, and Friends of the Republic. I announce today that our Nation will take a step forward towards Energy Independence from outside influence, we will lower our reliance on coal power plants that pollute and damage our health and environment and will turn to cleaner, cheaper and larger yields of energy that can be gathered from Nuclear Fission. We will construct four Nuclear Reactors throughout the Country, one will be located east of Kugaaruk, another will be built south of Pangnirtung, the other two will be located near Bathurst Inlet and Grise Fjord. These reactors will be jointly run by Civilian Technicians and Military Guards, the Eleytherian Army Engineers will be the ones overseeing the construction of these Reactors and facilities, already construction has begun on one close to Grise Fjord, and another is nearly completed due east of Kugaaruk. This raises our electrical output potential many times greater than our coal and oil power plants put together, we will be able to decommission our old coal plants and still have plenty of energy production for several years, this will also save a large number of Phi's which will help our economy greatly. I will help however I can to see the people of our bold Republic prosper, welcome to a new era in Eleytherian history, welcome to the era of the atom! May it help us all strive to bring more focus on peace, prosperity, and reasoning within this world. Thank you, have a fine day. ------------------------------------------------------------ ~>ERN NEWS<~ Shockwaves through the country today when an aerial photo of Kugaaruk Reactor was leaked to the public, clearly visible are the construction teams working on the facility and three of the Republics highly classified FS-1 Fighters flying over head in the upper right corner of the image. There is no word on who might have leaked the photo but a full investigation is under way, the Government reports that this Aerial Photos gives too much information and for the sake of National Security is outraged someone within their own branch of Military would do such a thing. The Government says that a cargo plane flying in towards Sol Air Force Base snapped the photo to help engineers get a better perspective of their progress and more efficient layouts for future security measures, they now say that their first plans will have to be scrapped and a new one drafted as the originals are now useless by these turn events. Socialist spies are believed to be responsible. Here is a photo that was leaked: Posted Image |

--- Top Secret Transmission --- To: Nouville-Paris, Empire of Great New France From: Kugaaruk City, Eleytherian Republic Before you agree to this message you should understand that you are about to witness the dark side of our Republic, one that we wish we would have never had to reveal, but the socialists have forced our hands in this matter, if you have no interest in helping us, please ignore this message as of right now. If you do wish to assist us, then continue to read on. We request your assistance in finding the Socialist Spy who leaked the information on our Reactor near Kugaaruk, such an affront must not go unpunished -- this opens the door to sabotage, terrorism and the loss of lives. He must be found and silenced, forever... We do know his name is Mikhail Wazlinov, we have narrowed our search to Baffin Island, where the Socialists established their stronghold in the early outbreak of the Eleytherian Civil War. We sent two of our best agents to kill him, but Mikhail found them first and the agents turned up dead floating down the Iqaluit River, if you are willing to help us I will provide you with the information you and your agents will need to know in order to kill the bastard before any more harm can be done. Sincerely, Catherine Nerdinskaya. |

Top Secret Transmission To: Kugaaruk City, Eleytherian Republic From: Nouvelle-Paris, Empire of Great New France Dear Mrs. Nerdinskaya, thanks for the information of the suspected socialist terrorist who tries to leak vital information for your Nation and our Alliance as a whole. We will hereby send a special intelligence squad of 30 of our best trained special ops to search for those socialist bastards. Be assured that we will not fail this vital operation, codenamed "Bring back the bastard". I watch this with extreme concern. The current actions of the 'organization' of JAUST, its very nature being agressive and militaristic, and its policies towards the Holy League compel me to think extremely ill of this nuclear direction which is being taken by the Eleytherian Government. OOC: GNF, I laughed so hard it was painful when I seen what you code named this operation; "Operation: Bring back the Bastard".  Where did you come up with this? Great work, a little twist from having to always take our RP's serious. Anyway I will be converting this small RP into something like a mouse hunt, I'll talk to Kas or AA and see if they want to play the role of Mikhail Wazlinov, we can take this slow as we want as its not that important, just something to do on the side. This current post I will make will be the "Intro" of sorts to the RP, it'll describe the Capitol, it's many sights, and the Veloryan Embassy in Eleytheria -- which isn't currently the best place for the French to be. This post should or might be the only super long post on this topic, honest. :hypocrite: IC: In Reply to DGSE: We are glad to see you are on board and have already happily ahh... "Nicknamed" the Operation. We will gladly take any help you can, your agents will arrive in Kugaaruk City and we will see to it that they are well prepared and supplied. Thank you again for your support. ------------------------------------------------------------ Kugaaruk City -- Eleytherian Republic Two hours later... The French Agents arrived at the Airport and disembarked from their flight, as they left the Airport itself they looked around to see in front of them a Walled City, something most people alive in the modern era would have never dreamed of seeing in person, but there it was, a City behind a stone, steel, and concrete reinforced wall that must have been 30 feet thick and 50 feet high. Most people in the Empire of Great New France have heard of the Capitol of their Ally to the North, but few have actually seen Kugaaruk up close and in person, walking through a corridor of time there were architectures as early as the Renaissance all the way up to the more modern tower structures that are commonplace back in New France, but here they were actually side by side in this single City. As they walked down the streets they came across a giant structure to their right with Latin-Style pillars rising to the ceiling, a large seal on the wall denoted that it was the Veloryan Embassy in Eleytheria, the guards were dressed in heavy winter coats with XM-8's strapped to their back, watching the French as they passed with suspicion. They continued to the Federal Intelligence Agency Headquarters, as they marched up the stairs, a young Guard greeted them "Welcome, Friends."; "Thank you, Monsieur." the French Agent replied. As they entered the large dark oaken double doors they found themselves in the middle of a giant hall with marble pillars to their left and right stretching the length of it, large Eleytherian banners draped down from each the pillars in their usual colors of Blue, Red, Black and bearing the 12-Rayed Sun in the middle, on the floor stretched a red rug from the entrance to another set of double doors with two guards standing near them. "Je devrais avoir apporté mon appareil-photo." one of the Agents said, walking down the corridor, still trying to grasp the size of the Structure and its decorations. As they entered the next set of double doors, a massive conference room became visible, once more Marble pillars raised to the ceiling around the massive oval room, a council set upon a high platform speaking to hundreds of people whom served in the Eleytherian Intelligence Agency; "Dieu saint!" one of the French Agents exclaimed, looking around at the large ornate room, filled with benches, offices, electronics equipment, and monitors. The Council took note of the French Agents walking into the room; "Ah! Our allies have come to assist us, welcome my friends -- please, come up to the platform." As they arrived, an old man in his 60's handed to each of the French Agents a copy of Mikhail Wazlinov's records, in them contained his financial reports, known biography, last whereabouts, his known contacts, the works. Anything to speed up the search of this man was given to the French Agents and they were offered free quarters in any Eleytherian City they traveled to, including free lodgings in Kugaaruk's large five star hotels that overlooked the glittery northern arctic sea. The French now had their task set before them; find Mikhail Wazlinov, and bring him in dead or alive ... preferably dead. OOC: *Whew* Done... |

There is no need to trouble yourself your holiness, we have no desire to have any form of conflict with the Holy League, we are only trying to pave a better path forward for our people and we have no desires to produce nuclear weapons from these reactors -- and you are free to send men to inspect and confirm this whenever you like. If you wish it, an Embassy can be constructed within Kugaaruk City so we may remain in contact and discuss any issues that may arise between us. We are as always, willing to cooperate as much as we can. Sincerely, Catherine Nerdinskaya. |

OOC: All right here is the conversion point -- AA you have control over Mikhail Wazlinov, below is the Map that we'll be running the Spy around (Only in the green highlighted area's) I know the map is a little ugly and does not show the entire Republic, but there's more than enough Cities on the East side of the country to RP out and hide in, you can start him out in any city on Baffin Island AA, and give some clues and hints that he was there, perhaps rented something etc. GNF; try to think of a way how you would lead your Agents to the City he is in, following clues and such, remember: Mikhail gets away every time unless AA states otherwise, very close calls are permitted and encouraged. B) If any other players want to get involved they can, perhaps as one of Wazlinov's Socialist contacts or perhaps bring in an agent of their own. Heres the playground, I know the map is a little ugly but it'll do the trick, if you ever need a reference to where you are and where you want to go, remember the page this image is on and consult the map. Velorya does not condemn this move by the Eleytherian Republic, but we are concerned that the traitor Assassins will attempt to steal nuclear material from the plant to serve their own purposes, as Velorya will no longer supply them with Uranium. We wish to send observers to the plant to make sure that the Assassins are not allowed to take anything out. --Cardinal Emperor Salvatius I |

To: Cardinal Emperor Salvatius I From: President Catherine Nerdinskaya We will allow observers to oversee the use of Uranium production and usage, however, they must not be armed and they must be searched for any explosives as all personnel, Eleytherian or not, leaving and entering the facilities are searched thoroughly. We assure you the Assassins will have no role in taking Uranium from our lands, our reserves are guarded well and the reactors themselves are kept in strict isolation from everyone but those who are granted the highest security clearance. As also per our invitation to the Papal States, you will also see Papal Inspectors at our sites ensuring that none of our uranium is being used in the production of Nuclear weapons anywhere in the world, be it in our Republic or the Assassin Nation. OOC: My Nation don't take risks with things like Uranium, were quite Antinuclear weapon. |

To: President Catherine Nerdinskaya From: Cardinal Emperor Salvatius I Your insinuation that the Veloryan inspectors might be terrorists is a grave insult, but we will accept your terms. We only hope that you do not toss aside the friendship of our nations to sign on with the Assassins, who will soon grow bored of alliance with Eleytheria and betray you as they did us, not once, but twice. It is to your severe disadvantage that you trust them more than you do us. But we will not aggress against you. Know that the door for equal friendship between our two nations is still open. |

Catherine was at her desk when the final message from Velorya came in, General Yanon was the one who handed her the sheet of paper containing the message, after she finished reading the letter she sighed and shook her head, saying to the General; "Dammit... This is ridiculous, to think that we have to stoop as low as mistrusting our own friends out of fear that they may sabotage our progress is getting seriously out of hand. The Veloryans, the very people we hoped to pursue friendly relationships with we can trust no longer because of their solid allegiance with the Holy League, they are but a puppet to the Pope, and his word is their law -- if war breaks out, I would rather trust the Assassins than a country who would suddenly and blindly drop all friendly interest in our country because the Pope demands it ... Heh, talk about a betrayal..." She looked up at the General and stared him in the eyes; "Now you see, my friend? Do you now see the complexities of being a political leader? Deciding what is right and what is wrong for your country, making choices that could cost the lives of millions? Pray you never land yourself in my shoes, General, you wouldn't like it, not at all..." The President walked to the window staring at the cars passing by, she sighed and dropped her head, Yanon could clearly see she was stressed to her limits, the political disputes were eating her alive, he walked over and patted her on the shoulder saying "I pray to Almighty God I never land myself in your shoes, Catherine... I could never learn in twenty years what you have learned in two, nor would I want to, but you are our leader, we need you Catherine, more than ever"; with those words said he left her office. Catherine sighed and said to herself; "This is going to be one hell of a long ride..." ------------------------------------------------------------ To: Emperor Hicks of the Assassin Nation From: Catherine Nerdinskaya, President of Eleytheria-Duo The current disputes between the Holy League and JAUST are beginning to take its toll on our Republic, although we stand firm with the Alliance and with you, I must unfortunately bar all Reactor Inspectors from your Nation -- the Veloryans will be arriving shortly to observe their use, and we cannot risk any conflict at our reactor sites. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but this is the only solution I know of to a problem of which I have no control over, we ask that you understand our precautions on this matter. Thank you... |
