Zidd and Furling. Now I don't want to crap over Quaon, but I'd much prefere the Slan to the Zugwai. I'll be playing either Zidd, Furling or Slann (or whatever we end up calling them...) haven't decided |

I'd prefer the Slann and the Furlings. No offense to Abnar, but the Zidd seem pretty lame, I mean, they're just hyped gnomes... The Furlings are fairly original and much cuter. And the Slann are just awesome. |

The Zidd are definitely wierd. They're kind of a combination between DnD Gnomes, WoW Gnomes, and PSO Newmen. On this track, I would like to add another characteristic: rapid growth (up to their short stature) and short lifespan. EDIT: Also, another nifty possibility would be some sort of avian race... just throwing ideas out there. |

I like the Furlings for two reasons - they will eat plants vorociously (i.e. Florans), and they taste just like chicken! No opinion between the other two, but we should have underground dwellers, for sure. I also find the avian types kinda cool! Now, I would like to suggest something for Florans: Instead of them moving on wheels in the second phase, I would rather they learn how to abandon their root stalks, and blow along in the wind like tumbleweeds. More in character. Also, they should have the ability to disperse airborn seedlings which can travel great distances, and then quickly germinate into a new colony. Of course, these seeds would also be very tasty - maybe even a delicacy for some of the other races, like manah from heaven! |

Okay, so Furlings are in for sure? And I'll definitely change the Florans to what you were saying NH, it's much better than what I wrote. Now, about the Slann, how about we modify them to be a little more Avian? |

The Vlaath - A must-have psionic species. Blue skinned, lithe frames, tall, no body hair. Physically weak. |

Tall, we already have, (see the viking dudes, and possibly the Florans), lithe frames. no body hair, and physically weak, we already have, (see Q's chinese like guys), but psionic... hmm.... perhaps it could be incorporated into one of the current races... then again, it's a little too strong of a power perhaps.... |

I have a problem with totally ficticious powers, i.e. psionic abilities. Although we are creating a fantasy world, those types of abilities are conjecture, and not supported by any physical phenomena currently known. |

I agree, no psionic abilities, and so all the other things that were characteristic of that race are already part of other races, so no need to have them. That leaves us with deciding whether we want the Slann or the Zidd. Zidd, I personally don't see what's so great about them. Just hyped up gnomes, and we already have one and a half human-like races, no need for another. Slann, perhaps they could have some sort of limited flying capabilities. Kind of like flying squirrels. You know, like wings, not enough to flap them, but enough to suspend them if they jump off a cliff or something. I see the Slann as something of a demonic and evil looking race. They could also walk on all fours just as easily as on two legs, like slimy, semi-humanoid, partially flying, dragons. |

If the Zidd are out, I would vote to create a full avian race, with feathers, wings, the whole enchilada. Adding gliding things to the Slann doesn't make them avian. |

Well, explain why you think a full avian race would be better than the Slann, as described above and elsewhere, and I'll certainly consider it. |

Well, there can be some "Magic" but I wouldn't want to make it a primary element. Some might be good at hypnotising, others might have halucinigenic secretions, that sort of stuff!! But I would say no to any fairy tale type magic. |

Limited magic isn't all bad. I mean, the biggest spell Gandalf cast in the whole LOTR series was a "flash" that killed a couple of goblins in The Hobbit. |

I must admit I was looking forward to it, but I'm still interested. How about prophesy? I mean about my own nation in particular, but like a sort of clouded vision of the future. |

That would be okay, in fact, that might be pretty cool. But I would like it limited to the Zugwai, since they are the most mysterious. |
