OOC: Well, actually, I don't think they could technically be defined as communists because they still have a state. Communism is supposed to abolosh the state. |

OOC: Quaon: I refer you to Leninist analysis on the subject. The attempts at reeducation to create a New Man in Stalinist and Maoist society were necessary logicial extensions of Communist theory. Communism cannot immediately abolish the state, because there are still anti-revolutionary elements in society. The attempts I alluded to above were attempts to overcome this problem by transforming human nature systematically, so that society would be made up of devoted, dedicated Communists. Its only under such conditions that the state could whither away in Marxist fashion. To say that a country that still has a state cannot be called Communist ignores the fact that Communism requires a long (and perhaps infinite) process of post-revolutionary development, as well as, more importantly, ever country that is commonly defined as Communist in history has a government, so if we use standard definitions presence of a state does not impede Communism. NRE: Well, I'd say that Kozintsev is probably also crossing my line. My Church's view is probably somewhere along the lines of the Council of Moscow, 1917, which placed under anathema any Chrisitian who cooperated with the Bolshevik government, rather than the later, more compromise-minded attitudes that followed the persecutions in some parts of the Church. Also, its worth noting that my country and their Church have a very archaic mindset in terms of Orthodox Church/State relations. Sacred monarchy is the only truely worthy form of state in their mind. Other systems may be tolerated, but never approved. Once my country is back in normal conditions, expect them to push long and hard for genuine autocracy in Russia. |

OOC: I understand and figured as much from what you've told me. Understand that it'll be a battle to be fought for sometime however I may reform to the church's wishes. I want Russia to be a strong voice on the world stage, but within itself have it's own struggles (Premier vs. Tsar, Church vs. State, Party vs. Party..etc). It'll make for some interesting and sometimes racial changes. It may all callminate into a nice little war that the Romanians can assist in but this is all in the future and no time soon. Oh and hopefully we can get to crowning my Tsar soon and establishing the church. I see the Patriarch of Moscow being a heavy voice in the Tsar's ear, pushing him as I know the church wants to kick the state out. |

There had taken place a small recess in the proceedings of the convention. The Premier was quite happy at the attitude of the party gathered thus far. While outside the chambers of the convention, walking to stretch his legs he was presented with several telegrams from home. Some where on the situation in Britain, a situation which appeared to need his attention soon. Others were of various other issues that need his address and thus with the volume of letter a bit high he knew it was time to finish the convention and see exactly where he stood. Thus everyone returned to their seats and the Premier stood for a final time to address his audience. Well, gentlemen you've hear all that I have to say here today. My goal is simply, to strength the bonds of socialism in South America and bring about a new era of peace for all people who so bravely fly under the flag of communism. To Nuevo Hispaniola know that Russia will be dedicated to the reconstruction efforts of your country and these efforts will start immediately. To the Free Communist Party know that your experts in South America are of great interest to Russia and we could use your talents. We would to set you up in Hispania Ulterior to operate as a wing of our government. Finally to everyone else in attendance here I ask that you speak now with any questions you may have. If not then I convene this conference and hope that the seeds of it take roots soon. OOC: Just trying to rap all this up. If there are no further questions, we can just end this with this post. |
