Emperor Kristophe Xavier I- Well? Prime Minister Hein- The French have overstepped the bounds of their authority. As Veta is Kasnyian territory, I would call the behavior absolutely disgusting. At the very least the territory should be put under direct command of the Kasnyian military. Emperor Kristophe Xavier I- Bah. Forget it. We have held that territory for nearly two years now. The French were doing fine until they switched in Broussard for Proust. I cannot rely on them anymore but..I don't want Kasnyian manpower wasted on this. Prime Minister Hein- Then? What shall I do? Emperor Kristophe Xavier I- It's obvious isn't it? The Vetans have had their punishment. They know to respect Kasnyia now, even if they hate us. I never intended to keep Veta for too long..had the French not royally screwed it up for themselves I would have given it to them permanently...but..after reading the testimony of Bird and later forcing the French to turn over all files....I believe it was wrong for me to believe the French could administrate it. Prime Minister Hein- Sir...are you saying what I think your- Emperor Kristophe Xavier I- I want Marshal Proust to report directly to Harzmann. Then open a live feed to New Hermannstadt. Through there I will order for the liquidation of the Occupational Authority of Veta. Prime Minister Hein- Are you sure you do not wish to do this personally? After all, Harzmann turned a blind eye to the whole mess, purposely allowing intel to be suppressed. Emperor Kristophe Xavier I- He is foolish for his treatment of Vetans, since the war, but he is also one of my best govenors. Pacifica has thrived thanks to him. However, your right...I'll have to do this personally. Prime Minister Hein- Your orders? Emperor Kristophe Xavier I- I want a a transmission broadcast from the military base in Toronto. The entire continent should hear. Prime Minister Hein- To whom, sir? Emperor Kristophe Xavier I- I will address Marshal Proust personally, but I want everyone to hear. Prime Minister Hein- I see. I will carry out your orders but...Why not hold such a prized- Emperor Kristophe Xavier I- Because I am Emperor. And I say Veta is not worth Kasnyia's trouble any longer. We have a war in Texarado to worry about. Prime Minister Hein- I must implor- Emperor Kristophe Xavier I- The desicion is final. Do it. Prime Minister Hein- ...Yes, your majesty. ------------------------------------------------ Office of the Administrator for Occupied Veta, Nova Scotia Proust was not happy. He had managed to silence that lunatic Bird, but not before he squealed to the Kasnyians about the way he treated the Vetans. He didn't know why Kasnyia cared so much for a pathetic excuse ofr an enemy such as Bird and his ilk. It was evil to extend such courtesies in his opinion. And also in his opinion, they deserved a dog's death. That was why when his predecsessor, Broussard, was relieved, he was glad to have the chance to show them what true authoritarianism was. And then Bird decided to bypass him entirely and go beg to the Kasnyians for help. And his men. Shot him , right in front of them too. Imbeciles. No matter, he thought as he nursed his glass of Vetan wine. The Kasnyians would more than likely merely keep a closer eye on him, maybe complain for his removal...but they would do nothing. They didn't care THAT much. No one could. Not for ruffians such as these. It was only a pity he hadn;t gotten his hands on the Corridor, which was all that remained of the original Vetan state. Then he would have shown true terror, starting with the incessant Bird. As he grumbled about his woes further, his phone rang. A red one, which meant it was from the Government. He picked up the phone. Proust- Oui? That was all he had been allowed to say for for the rest of the call, he was recieiving urgent instructions to ready a video conference between himself, Viceroy Harzmann, the Emperor of Kasnyia...and the rest of the world. He was ordered to follow the instructions precisely and that he was now under tight survailliance by the Kasnyin Intelligence Service. He thanked his officer, put down the phone, and...proceeded to throw everything off of his desk in one swooping motion. ------------------------------------------------- The Emperor was at his desk, looking at his personal video screen, which showed the faces of Proust, Harzmann, and a feed showing the Vetan crowds, who were watching them both on giant televised projections all over the nation. They were being told nothing as to what would be said in the "interview between the two" as the Authorities had spun. And so they paid rapt attention as they saw the Emperor of Kasnyia speak. Emperor Kristophe Xavier I- Marshal Anton Proust? Marshal Proust- Your Majesty? I and all of Great France are at your service. Emperor Kristophe Xavier I- But of course. So far, this was looking like a publicity stunt for Proust. People were already turning to go back home... Marshal Proust- What brings your gracious image to the eyes of the Vetans and myself? It was here though, where the Emperor's diplomatic and dry manner changed to that of a sardonic and wry man in his late 20's, rather than the unreachabl;e almost godlike figure his title potrayed him as. Emperor Kristophe Xavier I- Funny you should ask that, Proust. I was enjoying a spot of breakfast a few weeks ago when a funny little letter came to my attention. Anyone who had lost interest or were turning back were now giving the televised appearance of the Emperor their most undivided of attentions. They could see how visibly flushed Proust himself was. he tried to keep his wits about him however. Marshal Proust- Oh, a letter? Who by, your Majesty? Emperor Kristophe Xavier I- A one Thomas Anderson Bird. You might have heard of him. He was once a mercenary commander. Fought your men in the war. Marshal Proust- A-ah yes...yes..the name is familiar to me. Emperor Kristophe Xavier I- Who later..to save his people..willingly surrendered to my representative in North America, the Viceroy of Pacifica. The people of Veta were now wide-eyed and curious. Some were starting to barely smile, almost knowing what was to come next, and others stifled what feelings they could, so as not to hope needlessly. Proust was now sweating. Marshal Proust- O-Oh, yes I heard of that from my..my....predeccesor... Emperor Kristophe Xavier I- Marshal Louis Broussard, who had been originally charged with administrating the Vetan territory. Marshal Proust- Y-yes... Emperor Kristophe Xavier I- Who had managed to get along almost friendly-like with Mr. Bird, who had been installed as the President of the Vetan Corridor, which Viceroy Harzmann so kindly left for them to be independant. Leopold, are you there? A third feed could now be seen on the screen, showing the old stern face of Harzmann, whose expression looked very sour. Viceroy Harzmann- I am here, Your Majesty. Emperor Kristophe Xavier I- Gooood. Then listen. There will be no need for commentary. Feeling the verbal sting visibly, he meekly replied. Viceroy Harzmann- As per your will, Emperor. With that he returned his attentions to Proust, who had used the time to regain composer. The Vetans on the otherhand were now sitting were they stood, some with food, watnhcing the spectacle like a favorite televison show. Emperor Kristophe Xavier I- Mr. Bird, of whom you speak as though he is only a mere name, was also put under what, in Kasnyian terms, is an Order of Excecution. Is that not right, Marshal Proust? The French officer struggled to defend himself. Marshal Proust- H-H-He was threatening the peace! He was about- Emperor Kristophe Xavier I- -about to reveal to me the horrendous and evil regime you have put these poor people under! He was about to show me and the rest of Kasnyia the true rot of your Authority underneath the great veneer of progress that you have been BULLSHITTING ME WITH!! At that, the Vetan crowds cheered. The French guardsman who watched overthem were starting to get antsy. If one listened closely through the cheers, one could hear safeties going off... Marshal Proust- No! No, your Majsty they are LIES!!! They are lying- Emperor Kristophe Xavier I- LYING?! Foolish little man, do you think I would just take his word for it? I had done everything in my power to confirm this and they all tell me the same thing you CORRUPT PIECE OF- Marshal Proust- DOCTORED!!! ALL DOCTORED!! THEY- But he had gone over the line. He had misspoke. Emperor Kristophe Xavier I- Do not dare try to speak over me. Ever. Proust was now in panic. The Kasnyian Emperor was sweating him out in front of the Vetans. It was clear that he was being humiliated. Marshal Proust- I...You cannot do this! I am a French Citizen! You have no Right- Now he was far beyond the line. He was dangerously close to something he didn;t even want to think about. Likewise, any sarcasm in the Emperor's demeanor dissappeared, refilled with cold calculating malice. Emperor Kristophe Xavier I- You are administrating Kasnyian land. Your predeccessor had the wit and intelect to know how to treat his lessers. You did not. And for that you murdered a man right outside a Kasnyian base. Marshal Proust- The French Government- Emperor Kristophe Xavier I- -Will do as I say in this matter. Enough. No more from you. Marshal Proust- But I- Emperor Kristophe Xavier I- No. You are done. For good. As of this moment, I strip you of all privaledges and authority over Vetan lands. You will hand over control of the Occupational Authority of Veta to Marshal Broussard. Then you will leave back for Great France and face court martial by your government. They too cannot stand your horrendous treatment. The Vetans were in shock. They were estatic, but shocked. Not only did he embarrass the dictatorial Proust, but got rid of him, returning control to Marshal Proust, whom the Vetans respected atleast for being fairminded and kind. Proust on the otherhand bowed his head and nodded, accepting his defeat. His feed then terminated. The Emperor started speaking to the Viceroy, who was stalwart as ever in his sour expression. Emperor Kristophe Xavier I- Mr. Harzmann. Viceroy Harzmann- Yes, your Majesty. Emperor Kristophe Xavier I- Once Broussard takes command in the next 48 hours, order him to facilitate the retreat of all French forces from Veta, turning over all government buildings to the Governing authority of the Bird Administration. He will make sure things go smoothly. Viceroy Harzmann- At once. Emperor Kristophe Xavier I- To the people of Veta. You have paid your debt of shame. You have taken your punishment well for your sitiuation. Kasnyians are not a vengeful conquerer type. Thus, it is my belief that you are once again ready for freedom once more. I invite the top members of Mr. Thomas Bird's government to New Hermannstadt where Mr, Harzmann will discuss your conditional independance. He looked at both feeds. In one, Harzmann was quiet, not saying a word. In the other, people were talking excitedly amongst themselves, with the French guards in the background thunderstruck. Kristophe Xavier decided to add the finishing touche. Emperor Kristophe Xavier I- Rise, citizens of Veta. You are free. And that was the straw that broke the camels back, so to speak. Immediately, all over Veta, crowds cheered as they ran about in the streets, running past the now powerless French guards, who did not leave from their stances for a while. They could care less about the French now, when few hours ago they were all that was on their minds. They celebrated, toasting the young Emperor and the rest of the Kasnyians....except Harzmann of course. Veta was free once again. |

The first one you chose is not French at all. He is actually from Slovakia. His name is Milan Rastislav Stefanik... But he did serve in the French Army during WWI. He has an interesting story. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milan_Rastisl...%A0tef%C3%A1nik |

He might have been in the French Foreign Legion. A lot of foreigners have served in it for France during the two world wars an also later. But apparently, this general got French citizenship and received the Légion d'Honneur, one of the most prestigious award. |

OOC- And now for the fun. AA, your on cue soon enough. IC- Proust was in his office shaking in rage. Within 5 hours of the Kasnyian Emperor personally stripping the Marshal of his command, the order and law he had instilled in the Vetans for almost a year had collapsed into open rioting an anarchy...and he had been powerless to do anything...his own troops stayed in the barracks. ...He would not allow this to continue. The Kasnyians had made their peace with these scoundrels but not him..he would do something about this. He called his most trusted lieutenants. He knew what he would do. And it was going to be dangerous. |
