The Zolons had been decimated. Less than a hundred of them could still stand. The Hu'fievren and the generals had escaped to Zolon lines during the bloody battle. Harumfians continued to fire on the few Zolons that remained, when a flag of surrender rose. |

General McDonald approached the soldier carrying the flag of surrender. A high ranking officer from Zolony also stepped forward. "We accept your complete surrender," stated McDonald. "Under what terms?" asked the Zolon officer. "Unconditional. However, if every survivor in the field throws down his weapons, we will allow your force to peacefully return to Zolony lands. I will have a small contingent of men accompany you. We will give conditions for your repayment for the cost of this foolish action once all of your army has cleared the field. Is this acceptable?" "Yes. Here is my side arm." The Officer handed his side arm to McDonald, saluted, and returned to his troops. McDonald began giving orders to move his force toward Dodoma, in hopes of saving the dying city. |

OOC: As previously stated, the Zolon lines have tanks behind them that couldn't move forward. However, my soldiers could walk your men right into the tank lines where you will be slaughetered. |

OOC. If you do as asked, i.e. surrender your weapons, including the bogged down tanks, that shouldn't be a problem. If you chose not to accept our terms, we shall continue the fight, and start blowing up the tanks with air power imediately. They are sitting duck targets, you know. It's up to you. And, the next time, we won't be so nice. |

OOC: No, what I'm saying is that these soldiers have been left behind by the high ranking members of the military, IE the Hu'fievren. The Hu'fievren wants to launch another invasion with his tanks and airsupport. I've still got plenty of troops left in my nation that I can get over to the Zolon lines if need be. |

General McDonald returned to his troops after speaking with the officer leading the surrender. All of the Zolon troops were rounded up, their weapons confiscated, and were imediately machine gunned down. "We do not treat with those involved in an illegal war. Now, call in the airforce. Let's start taking out their armor, and we can drive then from the swamps!" |

OOC: Of course. Why wouldn't you, but you are closer to the NH border right now, than the Zolony border, plus I have an aircraft carrier in Lake Victoria. Have at it, let the games begin, and start a new attack any time you wish! |

OOC: Since no one's reacting to what my dudes found. IC: The majority of the Scythirian legions exploited the undefended point of Dodoma to its fullest. Troops marched in through the capital city's streets, slaughtering citizens and authorities alike in pure blood frenzy. Their goal had finally been reach, and it was just a mainstreet away to the government center. Scythirus gripped at Dodoma like a skeletal reaper clutching at the heart of its next victim to meet death. |

CLEVELAND ROCKS!
|
IC: The Flumesian Troops remained in their trenches despite the slaughter. Dead bodies were everywhere, blood filled the bottoms of the trenches but no one complained. Flumesian troops had so often been ridiculed in the past for the cowardly ways. Retreat was the only word they supposedly knew, but they were determined to change it. They were determined that the Flumesian Armed Force's mockery stopped now. Even the highest ranking suffered, supplies had long been cut-off, but still no one complained. They were determined to hold their ground to the war's end. They knew on the other front New Harumf was being destroyed. Even with the Zolon's retreat they knew it was only a matter of time before the Harumfian Army disbanded into a massive retreat. When this happened they planned to charge and kill as many Harumfian troops as possible. No matter what it took and how many lifes it cost. From this day on the Flumesian Military would be respected not just in Flumes, but around the world. |

Wait, Kasnyia is so bad at defending that they don't notice at all? You might as well notice, but its just too late to do anything to protect Walter. |

They are busy defending against the greater Scythiran brunt. What is being sent into the palace is a small squad. Besides, tehy assume that the Palatial guards can handle themselves (which they can, except the never figured Poole defecting) |

Walter looked down from his artillary post on the roof of the palace. "Oh, Shit!" he explained, as he had his men swing their gun around and start firing directly into the adsvancing troops. Palace guards took defensive positions around the parimeter, but Walter could see it would accomplish nothing to slow this final advance. He left the roof, and began his decent into the palace. He realized his only chance of escape was to enter the catacombs below, and make his way to the caves and tunnels that wound their way throughout the area. Some were rumored to be from King Solomon's time, and not all have been explored. He finally reached his secret enterence to the catacombs, and entered, closing and sealing the door behind him. |

Walter began decending the stairs, guided by a battery-operated light, heading toward the grave of King Thomas I. From there he would find the passages he needed to gain an escape from the city. As he was walking along the first level passage he noticed a light on the wall in front of him. Who could be down here at this time? He turned off his lamp, and plastered himself against the wall. Slowly, a shadowy figure appeared into view, carrying a large sack, and a pole. Walter could wait no longer, so he stepped into the middle of the corridor, and approached the man. "Stop, and declare yourself," said Walter, in his most commanding voice. "Ah," said the man, "What's this? Why, hello! What have we here?" "Be quiet. Who are you?" "Just the rat-catcher, govn'r, Peter, the rat-catcher. Lots of plump rats in me bag today." Walter looked agast. "Are you aware there is a war on? What are you doing down here?" "Just me job, mate. Just me job. Lots O rats, and the people upstairs don't want to see them. So I's catches them." "So where are you taking them. To the dump to be incinerated? You best be careful, the palace is surrounded!" "Dump? Way out there? Nah. These'l go to the kitchen, just up ahead!" Walter looked even more disgusted. "The kitchen? To be cooked?" "Why, yes, govn'r. For the prisoners! Ha, you don't think anyone would waste real meat on them, do ye?" Walter just waived his hand, "Along with you. Get out of my way." and proceeded dfown the corrodor to the next flight of steps. "Thank ye, govn'r! Nice to see ya. Have a great day." OOC: All of the characters Walter will meet in the catacombs and caves are from certain literary works. You may guess if you will. |

Suddenly a chant rose above the palace walls from the advancing Scythirian forces as they slaughtered the defending troops without mercy. "Kashtan har dushman! Kashtan har dushman! Kashtan har dushman! Kashtan har dushman!*" New Harumfian guards fell by the dozen as the hordes of Death Shock troops overwhelmed them and hammered in through the gates of the palace. Everyone in sight ranging from a palace guard to a lowly servant was killed without discrimination. Everyone found in the palace was to be immediately killed by order of Emperor Hirak-Al Voramix himself. Eventually the Royal Quarters were reached and the entirety of the New Harumfian Royal Family was rounded up into a single room. The Emperor wanted the Royal Family to be killed together, and in the most horrible way imaginable... by fire. So the squad of Death Shock troops that held them captive leveled the muzzles of their flamethrowers at the blubbering and crying members of the Royal Family. The Death Shock showed no emotion to these sad, pathetic creatures that they considered less than sub-human. Neither malice nor sympathy was expressed in the cold, carved forms of their facial features. But they noticed one thing... the man said to be ruler of New Harumf, King Walter, was nowhere to be found in the palace. One aide was left alive for this reason and led into the room that had become the Royal Family's prison. "Notice something missing?" a Death Shock troop demanded of the aide. The aide's eyes moved over the shivering and terrified shapes of the Royal Family and gasped. "They haven't found Walter!" He was suddenly slugged at that point. "Where is he?" demanded the same Death Shock troop. "Um... uhh... uh...." "Tell us, or we kill the Royal Family right before your eyes." The aide gulped, and panicked. "The catacombs! He went into the catacombs.... I saw him running for the--" BLAM! The aide, in his rambling, had never noticed the carefully aimed rifle for his skull, and thus did not react before his head was shot clear off. His body dropped towards the ground, lifeless, and the entire Royal Family screeched in horror. "EXECUTE THEM!" shouted the Death Shock troop who was obviously the squad's commander. The next second the hiss of flamethrowers roared and the Royal Family was torched to ashes. After the duty had been done, the commander shouted his next command. "SEARCH THE CATACOMBS!" *OOC: "Kill all of the enemy." I don't know proper Persian, so I don't know if the grammar is right or even close. |

In addition to Walter, one other person went unnoticed, Walter's wife Lucia. She was sitting alone in her quarters, hearing the screams and distress from below. She was calmly working on her needlepoint when troopers burst through the door. "Take her." She was grabbed, and they began to drag her from the room when the commander shouted, "Wait. Let's have a little fun, first." They tore off her clothes until she was naked, and threw her on the royal bed. Her pet yorkie, who had been hiding under the bed all this time, came out, yapping, and was imediately shot. Then, the troops were on her. ------------------------------------------------------------- In the catacombs, Walter had finally arrived at the door he sought. Sitting in a chair along side, was an old man, with a key around his neck. "Halt, who goes there?" he said. "I am Walter, Lord Protector, who are you?" "I am the doorkeeper." "What is your name, doorkeeper?" "I, I...I don't know. I have just been the doorkeeper for a very long time. Why is there a Lord Protector?" Walter looked at this grizzled old man with pity. God only knows how long he has been down in these chambers. "King Grindel has died. I am protecting the throne for his son, Prince Romulus." "Who is king Grindel?" asked the befuddled old man. "What has become of good King William?" "King William is long dead, old man. Now, open up this door." "I shall, my lord. I shall." And with that, the old man stood, and slipped the key into the lock. He then slowly opened the old door and it's old hinges creaked. "Behold the road to the graveyard. King Thomas' tomb lays before you." Walter entered, and turned to the old man. "Lock this door behind you. Then, save yourself, the palace has fallen to our enemy." "I will, my Lord, I will. No Egyrian or Patruan will follow you." With that, he shut the door, and locked it, sealing Walter in the passage to the graveyard. |
