Jets roared to life and attacked the city of Morogoro, providing close air support, a few A-10s, a recent buy of the Flordian Senate, turned walls into butter. The Scythirians directed the jets onto strongholds, which fell before the fury of the guns. The Medeans where slowly being grouped together, and their defences turned to dust and ash. The Siege of Dodoma continued, bombs, missiles, motars, and artillery fell into the city. Every street was marked with craters and burn marks. And the Flordian forces slowly taking the city outskirts, which were untouch by the bombs and missiles, to avoid friendly fire. So every house became a fortress in of it self, but the Flordian Forces were willing to attack over and over again. Houses that wouldn't fall where torched by flamethrowers. But the assult on the city proper would wait, untill the fall of Morogoro, and then the Scythirians would aid this attack. |

Menhad: Lol, sorry, but I'm simply not used to this style of RP. Usually, the wars I have been in have been about story over competition. I'm just a little confused. How would my guys be stupid enough to walk right into a corner for no reason? IDK, sorry for the rant. |

Suddenly, column upon column of New Harumfian Marine armor rolled in to face the advancing Scythian force in Morogoro. These units had been hidden west of the city, covered with camoflauge and in dug out holes, and their attack was a complete surprise. What went before them, however, was the most effective weapon New Harumf had used to date. Thousands of civilians poked their heads out of buildings and doorways and threw what they called "Voramix Fizzes". They were hand-held containers of kerosine and Phosphorus, which were smashed onto the Scytherian Armor. The heat given off was high enough to boil off the amunition inside the armor, and Scytherian Tanks were exploding everywhere. The assult of the armor was driven to a standstill as New Harumfian armor rolled into the city, decimating the infantry running from the flaming armor. Planes from both sides, as well as from Florida and Menhad began bombing indescrimanately into the battle, and only time would tell who emerges victorious. OOC: Scy, you may get to the palace and kill the royal family, but you won't have anything left to try to take the rest of the country. |

OOC: I did state that the Scythirians were hearding the Medeans with their confusing spread movements. Maybe you missed that. IC: The curious brand of Molotov cocktails the Harumfians were calling "Voramix Fizzes" were an unexpected drawback. The attempted hearding of the Medean enemy into a quarter of the city was broken, and several ground units had to withdraw from that section of Morogoro. Armor in the rear lines were cautioned to not advance any further into the city, and came to a complete hault. Something had to be done about the trap the Harumfians had set. The Scythirian bombers were called back into the air and heavily inundated most of the city with earth shattering explosives. The more skilled Scythirian infantry, primarily snipers, had a field day of dancing through the heavy explosions and picking off Harumfian citizens, military, and their Medean allies. With Florida on its side, Scythirus had turned the once beautiful city of Morogoro into a blazing inferno of death. When the Harumfian armor came rolling into the east side, it was immediately shelled by Scythirus' that remained outside to avoid the "Voramix Fizzes." This battle had wound up costing Scythirus a lot, but it would still hold enough strength to take on its next target: Dodoma. |

INTEL BRIEF FROM HARUMFIAN COMMAND . . . ==URGENT== SCYTHIRAN FORCES ENROUTE TO DODOMA OUTSKIRTS. ETA: 3400 HOURS. ALERTING ALL DEFENSE UNITS WITHIN DODOMA PERIMETER. PROTECT ROYAL FAMILY AT ALL COSTS. ==END== The Kasnyian field commander in charge of Dodoma, Major Rutger, read off the message five time before he responded with an order to his staff. The enemy had finally turned their heads toward Dodoma. Now was the time for Kasnyians to step up to the plate...and defend the city to the last man until reinforcements arrived...or until the royal family escaped, which ever came first. They were ready. |

No Menhad, if there was... Ouch, Because I have quite the large airforce and army. IC: Escape was a very unlikely possibility, the Flordian pilots had the skies over Dodoma on lock down and all vechicals where cut off. This was it, at Dodoma. The bombs fell, destroying the last buildings, the missiles roared through the sky, taking out any troops in sight. The fight for the outskirts was nearly over, the Flordian force where well trained in urban combat. The defence was like a crab, a tough outer shell, but once that was broken, the rest fell much more easily. The few strong points in the outer defence still had to be taken out, and the men there had been spared the bombing, but now the missiles sought out their new targets. |

The Zolons had been devastated. Armies IV-V had been destroyed by the aritllery fire. Every single man in those armies were dead. The Zolons had been unable to retreat or advance for a great deal of time. Corporal Gret Sulsells lay on his belly, watching the artillery shells continue to fire at the Zolon forces. Corporal Gret had lost all hope of surviving this battle. The Zolons were finished, he was finished. For all of Zolony's military might, they had made one crucial mistake: running past the swamps. Gret saw a fellow soldier crawling towards him. He turned to look at him, keeping his rifle to the ground. "We've just got orders from the Hu'fievren. In three minutes he wants us to just charge as fast as we can up that hill and destroy the guns. If you want to live, do not stop running." Gret nodded, and the soldier half sprinted half crouched to another position. Nervousness over came him: running into the open on any mission was suicide. However, staying in their current position was also suicide. Gret waited. Three minutes. He checked his rifle's safety, then decided to use his SMG instead. It was lighter. He checked the safety again and took out of SMG. A shout ran across the field of New Harumf. Every Zolon charged the gun position, running as fast as they possibly could. Gret got to his feet and charged. Shells were exploding around him, men were falling to their deaths, yet Gret couldn't hear a word of the shouts. He had to keep running. A shell exploded only a few feet from wherre Gret was standing. The forces of the impact pushed Gret off his feet. Gret looked up. They were so close to the artillery guns-they could take them. Gret tried to get up, but suddenly a hail of bullets hit him in the back. Gret coughed up blood and breathed his last. *** The Zolons managed to take the artillery guns down. They would then try and link up with the Scythirian forces in their battle. OOC: Yes, this is kinda cheap, but I did lose 400,000 men in these artillery fields. |

The probable outcome of the Battle of Morogoro was becoming clear. Without air support, the Medean soldiers could not fortify positions for very long without being blown sky high by the Floridian bombers. About 2300 New Medeans were dead already. Basically, the advantage given to them by being the fortified defense was totally bereft of them. However, they continued to fight on, galvanized by the Harumfian reinforcements. Morogoro may turn out to be a win for the enemy, but if the Medeans could help it, it would be a Pyhrric Victory. They concentrated their efforts on the armour, trying to eliminate as many tanks as possible so that they would be unusable for the inevitable Battle of Dodoma... Meanwhile, the CHOG offensive had bogged down. The Death Shock troops were outnumbered, but were as Elite as the Veloryan Legionaires (which are all Spec Ops BTW, whereas the Medeans are mere infantry). It was clear that this contingent of troops could not hold that many Legionaires for long, but every minute wasted was another minute that Morogoro went unsupported. As the casualties for the Death Shock began to mount, the Veloryans were surprised to find that there was no sign of retreat. Perhaps a Death Shock Trooper and a Legionaire were evenly matched in fighting prowess and experience, but the Scythiran definitely brought more fanatical, semi-suicidal passion to the battlefield. It was clear that it would take at least another day to finally be done with them. And that was probably all the delay Scythirus needed to take Morogoro... |

The New Harumfian regulars, massed behind their artillary, let out a cheer for the bravery of the Zolon troops, because such bravery had never been seen before. After that show of respect, the army charged down hill on the remaining Zolons. Hand to hand combat ensued, but there were just too many for the Zolon fighters to overcome. It was to be a slaughter. Suddenly, off to the south, the land filled with fighters from Flumes. Apparently, these troops had been held in reserve against the Harumfian position, and in a surprise move, the Flumsian high command decided to attack the Harumfian flank in the other battle, rather than throw them against the impenitrable wall that was the Harumfian-Flumes front. New Harumf was forced to retreat into new defensive positions within Harumf itself, and they retreated toward Lake Victoria. This gave the Zolons and Flumesian forces a chance to re-group before giving chace. What they didn't know was that a New Harumfian AC fleet was on patrol in the lake, and soon they would be in range for the big guns and bombers. |

OOC: I had 1.2 million men deployed there (I'm keeping track of my losses in my Military Sizes thread and also those deployed). I still have a little under 8 hundred thousand men packed together. How many Harumfians do you have behind the arillery? |

Scythirus' surviving Morogoro-assault armored division was strategically positioned along the east of Morogoro. Without any citizens to help out the defending military forces, it would be harder to take out these heavy tanks and artillery vehicles. More shells slugged the Medean and Harumfian troops, causing more damages on that side as Scythirus also had the advantage of being aided by the air. Scythirian infantry, mostly regrouping in the east side of the burning city, began setting up lines to support its armor. Scythirian and Floridan bombers soared through the air, continuing to indescriminately bomb the city of Morogoro like fanatics. And fanatics they were, especially Scythirus, not caring how much casualties they suffered from friendly fire as long as they got the job finished and won. Nevertheless, Scythirus' positions were in the eastern part of the city in any case. Morogoro was once a city, but now it mostly looked like a collection of jagged, broken teeth sticking up from the earth. Broken, jagged teeth that were only deteriorating more and more as the fire of bombs leveled them further to the ground. Scythirus did not care about the lives of civilians. ------------------- The CHOG Commander shouted out orders to his troops as the waves of Death Shock troops kept coming from the trees, slaughtering anything that came in their path, utterly ignoring the bodies of their casualties. When a Death Shock troop died, he did not ever let out a scream of anguish, for he knew nothing of screaming unless it was in cold, murderous rage. The Death Shock was an utterly alien sight to behold when seen in action. From birth they were trained to ignore the dead and continue with the objective of destroying the enemy unless ordered by a superior officer to stop. No such order would ever be given during this battle. The CHOG Commander felt chilled to the bone as he saw the seemingly endless wave of black uniforms storm towards him, growing closer by each minute. Sweat beaded his brow as the Death Shock slayed its way through the front lines, and then made small rivers through the middle... then.... His throat was suddenly grabbed by a large, muscular hand. This hand belonged to a large hulk of a body that had seen an entire lifetime of endless excercise and training. The black uniform it wore bulged with huge muscles from underneath, the hard, cold face supported by a collosal, veined and corded neck. Emotionless eyes stared down at him as this Death Shock troop held the Commander's throat with a tightening, vicelike grip. "Do you yield, Commander?" the Death Shock troop asked, verifying that this warrior recognized the ranks the Commander held. "Do you surrender? Or shall I kill you now where you buckle under my strength, sub-human?" |

OOC: Damn, how homoerotic!! Now, who gets to speak for this commander??
OOC: Above is what we had initially. Considering our army never engaged until now, my guess would be we have about 1.2 million swarming down, i.e. the full strength of the 4th Army, less reserves. |

The CHOG Commander regained his composure. Like their adversaries, Legionnaires were trained from birth. So had he been. In a corner, Legionnaires don't get scared. They get even. The Death Shock soldier had the Commander by the throat. But he had to stand on his toes to look down on the Veloryan. In a flash of movement almost too fast for the eye to perceive, the Commander whipped a combat knife off of his belt with his free hand. He jabbed the knife into the underside of the elbow of the arm that held his throat. Even if his adversary had tried to keep his grip under the searing pain, reflex would not admit it. The Commander did not back up out of his enemy's reach. Instead, he leapt forward and held the knife up under the Death Shock trooper's visor,at the throat. "One thing about Veloryans, O great Scythiran," the Commander mocked, "guys like us, don't lose to worthless pieces of shit like the Death Shock." He then brought his foot down hard on his adversary's shin, snapping the bone. It was simply for effect. As the Death Shock warrior tried to shift his weight and counter-attack, the Commander wrenched the knife across his neck, almost severing the head. The Scythiran fell as dead as a sack of bricks. He looked back out to his men. The momentary breakthrough that had resulted in this confrontation had all but fizzled out. Trying to cut narrow lines through the Veloryan ranks had been a mistake. The Death Shock were caught in between two much larger bodies of troops and slaughtered like so many hogs. They Scythirans were now hopelessly outnumbered. At this point, any sane force would retreat, but not the Death Shock. They were determined to kill every last Legionnaire they could before ending up as dead as their fellows. It was a terrible waste of humanity... |
