The North Flordian Forces set up camp a few miles from Dodoma. Spotter went ahead to find targets for the Bombers and Gunners, while some where caught the bombs and missiles rained down on Dodoma. Sniper turned the outskirts of the cities into a death zone, machine gunners would turn into targets. But for all their planning the booby traps where taking their toll.

While North Florida made further advances towards the State Capital of Dodoma, Scythirus concentrated on establishing fortifications within Dar es Salaam. Security over the citizenry had been established, and any dissidents were immediately executed without trial. Many commanding officers were greatly dismayed at the lack of any government officials present within Dar es Salaam. Scythirus had the city thoroughly searched high and low, through every open sewer to every government office. Records had revealed that the government had evacuated to Dodoma, leaving the military and citizens to fend for themselves.

The only option was to begin joining North Florida on the coming assault against Dodoma. Dodoma was where the entirety of New Harumf's government was huddling, and that's where it would meet it's inevitable end at the hands of Scythirus.

------------------------

In the Indian Ocean, supply lines were still vulnerable to enemy attack, and while the majority of the Scythirian Navy took on New Harumf's, it became obvious that the supply line needed to be guarded. Each supply transport was escourted by at least one submarine to take down any enemy battleship that dared an assault. While not all Scythirian ships made it to their destination in Dar es Salaam, most of them did and it was enough to adequately support the Scythirian's war on New Harumf.

Meanwhile it became obvious through intercepted transmissions that New Harumf was calling upon Catholic Europe and the Holy League for help. This could not be allowed, and small fleets were sent to the four corners of the sea to establish patrol stations on several islands that guarded several important waterways.

Patrol Bases Alpha and Beta were easy to establish with less of a day's sailing on the island of Socotra (Alpha Base) where they would reinforce Wadj's security of the Red Sea, and the islands of Chagos Arch (Beta Base) where they would intercept any Catholic reinforcements from Asia. The third patrol base, Gamma, was set on the island of Bouvet in the South Atlantic to intercept any reinforcements sent the long way around Africa. This third island would take most of a week to establish and secure, but it was ordered with the others nonetheless.

Scythirus had set up its fence, now it would continue its real business, the assault of New Harumf.

It was almost laughable. Floridian troops were launching strikes against dodoma, in an attempt to destroy the city defenses. While they were successful in destorying the outermost defenses and damaging many buildings, and killing many soldiers, they didn't realise that they were actually helping the Kasnyian engineers, who had forseen this. With all the rubble in the stree, natural barriers against tanks and other vehicles were being created, as well as acting as perimeters for when enemy soldiers entered the streets, acting like deadly kill-zones.

The enemy would not be able to destroy nor defeat the city defense forces from afar. They would have to enter the city itself and contend with the Kasnyian marvels of military engineering.

OOC-

Kasnyia holds the city, battling many troops, whil Scythiran assassins (after enduring days of fighting perhaps), somehow manage to side-swipe the defenses and flank them, managing to find the palace itself.......

After the duty is done, they have to enter back in the city where Kasnyia still holds it and give the Kasnyians hell, defeating them, but not obliterating them....

Just an idea

OOC:My goal is to kill, the Flordian Legions don't care much about losses, nor do the Scythirians. Also my snipers and forward units have entered the city outskirts and begun fighting, my last post wasn't really clear. Also I depend on snipers as crack units, so machine guns are pointless, but you don't know that ;)

OOC: There's a large and heavily defended city in between Dodoma and Dar Es Salaam, btw. I'm going to assume you didn't know before I cut off all supplies to your siege. :P

OFFICIAL STATEMENT OF THE WADJI GOVERNMENT

Scythirus has the moral support of the Wadji government in their endeavors in Africa. We believe that Hirak-Al has very good reasons to believe that New Harumf is a clear and present danger to the Scythiran people. Though it is the avowed policy of the Wadji government to use all diplomatic means to avoid war with other nations, it is clear that the dogmatic and uncomprimising nature of the Harumfian regime would have made this impossible. While Wadj shall not declare war on New Harumf, I wish the world to know that we do support Scythirus in these efforts.

Official Response of the Kasnyian Government

The Kasnyian Government wishes to make clear that any who support the enemy are the enemy themselves. While we will respect your neutrality, Wadj is on thin ice diplomatically. We urge the Wadjii Government to cease anymore involvement with this conflict, militarily or otherwise.

Representing the Emperor of Kasnyia,

OOC:
Yeah, Scythirus made that clear earlier. Hirak-al Voramix and the Wadjis have fought side by side for a long time. Their ties are far deeper than Scythirus' ties with Zolony.

That said, while this side of the war has the African Confederate, the other side has the Holy League and Le Congo Leopold (still legally at war with Zolony) so there's not really a moral side.

Alright, here is a map of Tanzania, which roughly correlates with New Harumf. The red line is the quickest route from Dar Es Salaam to Dodoma, being the highway. The blue dots are the known centers of Allied resistance, and the blue line is the path that the Veloryans are taking from their landing zone to Dar Es Salaam to launch a diversionary attack on Scythiran and Floridian positions. Hence, I warned Menhad about his position, because if he is were he says, there would be no way to keep a supply line past Morogoro, which has at least 12,000 Medeans, and probably a Harumfian garrison. I don't know if Harumf is planning on defending either of the other cities on the road to Dodoma.

Each city is a fortified position with at least 20 divisions within, and if one falls, the others will retreat to the next, and a city is bypassed on the way to dodoma, then you'll have a fortified position in your rear, which is not good!!

Kasnyian forces, while they had managed to fortify the majority of the city, the outskirts that lead to the Kisigo River were still not yet fortified to the expectations of the engineer corps...

OOC- After a harsh battle (long and harsh, when it comes around), you guys discover that the part of the river that runs close by to Dodoma (and the Royal Palace) is not nearly as well guared as the city itself is. You guys move a small garrison (all the while keeping the Kasnyian guerillas occupied) from the north of Dodoma down river, where they bypass the defenses...

Any disagreements?

The Combined Harumfian Offensive Group (CHOG), the 18,000 soldiers tasked with launching a diversionary attack on Dar Es Salaam, had reached the Rufiji River Basin. However, they now had to face an obstacle they hadn't counted on. The Rufiji Basin contained the world's largest mangrove forest, making the area they arrived at unnavigable by larger boats, such as transports. Unwilling to waste soldiers in a forced march through the swamp, the CHOG commanders ordered the columns to march 50 km up the river, where it was navigable and several viable bridges spanned its girth. They knew the delay could jeopardize the effect that the mission was after...

Emperor Hirak-Al Voramix stared boredly at the Veloryan man and the Kiru Taoese whore he was offering for a some of money. He coughed into his fist at the absurdity of this answer to his call for a suitress to sit by his side on the Throne of Jihamed as his wife and Empress. Surely this "free merchant" that had sailed into the ports of Abu-Dahbi wasn't seriously thinking he'd consider this... trash that he brought in.

"The mannerisms of your female make me doubt that she'd be loyal to my bed," Hirak-Al declared with a sneer. "She is obviously a slovenly prostitute abducted from whatever sea-port you sailed from. Begone from my Royal Hall!"

"But she's very talented, Your Highne--" the Veloryan man tried to protest before he was interrupted by the guards ushering him and his woman out.

"Well dat didn' work out," the woman said in an unrefined dialect as the throne room doors were closed on them both.

"That was utterly disgusting!" Hirak-Al roared. "All these third rate mules and their wretched sluts trying to make a mint off of my request for a suitress." He stood from his throne, and moved towards the side-entrance that led to his private chambers. He shouted back to his vizier. "I will see no more would-be suitresses today, Jamuum."

"Er... yes... yes, Your Highness."

-------------------

The Scythirians were waiting for the CHOG troops, their finest Death Shock troops awaiting in the treetops. Immediately seeing the enemy blunder their way around the swamp, the assault began and guns and flamethrowers began to devastate the CHOG offensive. Aerial surveilance had reported the approach of these enemy soldiers, and thus the Scythirian generals in Dar es Salaam decided to set a trap for them. The trap became a massacre.

Meanwhile, being wiser than its Floridan allies, Scythirus went to assault the enemy stronghold in Morogoro before it threatened future supply lines in the assault against Dodoma. Bombers flew in first to take out most of the garrison, targeting the largest concentrations of troops they could find. Next came the waves of infantry and armor, storming in through the highways that led into the city. Scythirus was doing its best to approach this invasion intelligently.

The CHOG troops were taken aback by the sudden ambush of the Scythirans. The first few scouting parties were waylaid and destroyed. Soon, however, they began to wise up to the Scythiran menace. They retreated off from the forest aways, and began firing mortars and grenade launchers into the dense foliage. The Death Shock troops, still perched in the treetops, found themselves highly vulnerable to the incoming projectiles. Incendiary munitions fired into the forest soon started a raging inferno, that quickly incinerated any Scythirans not smart enough to abandon their ambush positions.

Meanwhile, in Morogoro, the Medeans patiently waited out the Scythiran air offensive. The patrols wandering the streets were defenseless against the high altitude planes, and were annihilated. About 350 soldiers were killed by Scythiran bombs, as the rest took shelter. As the land forces came rolling in, the Medeans allowed them to pass through to the center of the city, with a large number of them making it unharmed to the downtown are. However, the Medeans then snapped shut on the stream of Scythiran reinforcements, trapping a good many of their enemy and sequestering them from any aid by land. Then, they began to decimate the beleaguered enemy, taking blocks in an irregular pattern so as to make bombing ineffective because of friendly fire...

Death Shock troops were rarely demoralized by casualties, and this time was no exception. As the mortar fire devastated the trees surrounding the area, more Death Shock were dropping from the trees to avoid an impending demise. A few bodies exploded from the trees, but most of the soldiers were agile enough to escape such a horrible fate. The Death Shock, the majority now on the ground stormed from the denser areas of the forest and charged their enemy with their flamethrowers and assault rifles.

-----------------

Morogoro erupted into urban warfare. Scythirians were often use to such a form of battle as this, considering the numerous times that most of their wars were fought in such a manner. Tanks rolled along, crushing debris as they supported their infantry. Many snipers began to immediately seize higher positions to better target their enemy down on the streets. Friendly fire was not uncommon, but this rarely ever hurt the morale of Scythirus' troops.

Unaware of it, but the Medean troops were being carefully hearded to a corner of the city. At first the sudden Scythirian tactic of splitting and dispersing after they were assailed in the town center was puzzling, the plan was slowly adding up. Scythirus was repeating a common tactic in its past wars, trying to surround the enemy to an easy-to-kill chokepoint.
