No, because it wouldn't make sense for Zolon forces to go all the way AROUND the Cape just to invade when a land campaign would make more sense. |

Its not a matter of sense, but a matter that you should have RP'd this before the invasion. |

"This is truely an unholy crime. The godless nation of Scythirus, having long been an avowed enemy of the Holy Catholic Church and servant of Satan, has allied itself with the devil-worshipping King of Zolony, to strike at our beloved New Harumf! The Kingdom of New Harumf, the homeland of our family, and a precious and beloved bastion of the Christian faith, under siege by the servants of the devil! This situation cannot be tolerated. What Catholic European troops we can send will join the other Catholic nations fighting in the war, and we urge all Holy League nations to send what troops they can spare to battle the enemies of New Harumf." - Pope Fernando II |

In response to the Pope's call, 10,000 Legionaires will be sent to aid in the defense of New Harumf. They will take about 5 days to a week to deploy. |

Public Announcement. To counter the Pope's call, Flumes has decided to send troops as needed. At the moment we have no comment on how many troops will be deployed and where they will in fact be deployed to. `~'Secret Telegram'~` To the Allies of Flumes- With the Pope's call to arms, Flumes' peoples public opinon has finally swayed in the direction of war. With our deep hate for Cathlics, we prepare our troops for war. Please awnser with tatics on where deployment is needed most. OOC: Go for an invasion from the land, Quaon. Distract their forces in the west while I smash them from the east. IC: Despite the losses suffered from the initial landings on the beach, the Scythirians still came, having plenty of units to spare in this all out invasion. The bombers that had dismantled most of Zanzabar Island's infrastructure were immediately moved to take out the coastal defenses at Dar es Salaam. They could not risk losing more troops as they continued with their amphibious assault. The bodies of too many drafted family men from Scythirus littered the beach. That could be suffered no more and the next wave of advances quickly came. While the Scythirian bombers took care of everything on the coast that threatened their troops, Scythirus moved its knight into place. A surge of black-clad troops stormed from the infantry boats and up the beach with alarming rapidity. These were extremely peculiar men, as when they took their losses, none of them stopped to aid the injured or remove the dead. A quaint skull emblem adorned their helmets, noticed by the enemy that they began to systematically irradicate without even flinching. Though many fell, many more came onrushing in a wave of terror and destruction. It was obvious by now who these battle-hardened monsters were; these callous, cold, uncaring beasts that shot everything that was not one of their own men. Scythirus had played its trump card once again, knowing that it would need these highly feared and elite men for the initial part of the invasion. These were the Death Shock troops of hearsay and legend, told as ghost stories by one veteran soldier to another. The warriors that made up the entirety of the Death Shock were trained from near infancy to be only one thing... cold, calculating killing machines in the service of the Empire. They had nearly overwhelmed Patrua and Wadj in the Second War of Succession, and so they would overwhelm New Harumf. It became realized that Scythirus was a difficult enemy to counter. |

IC: As Zolon troops march across Central Africa began, they could here to the north F-16 Fighters roaring to life. A short while later Zolon commanders received conformation that they would be joined by Flumesian Troops. OOC: Right now I'm unsure on how many troops will actually be on the attack. One because I always fear LCL pulling something crazy, Two because I also need to watch Ziyer, and 3 I haven't gotten around to actually figuring out my Units, Troops Per Unit, and what type of army each unit will be, (national guard, foreign deployment , ext) I'll do that right now... Is New Harumf okay with all this??? Edit- Spent the last 2 hours working on this, I'm pretty happy with it!!! http://z3.invisionfree.com/nationstates/in...?showtopic=2907 I'll show each Army/Unit Deployment later. |

Kasnyian forces in the Indian Ocean were suddenly ordered to pull out, to be redirected to the Imperial colonial province of Ziyer. However, the forces in the Arabian Sea proper were to stay along their mission. -Encoded Telegram- To-Harumfian Command From- IKS Stephan Forgive us, brothers for we could not stop them from taking the coast. New Harumfian defense forces along the coast were in awe by the Shock troups in black. They were killing machines, and as machine guns washed through their ranks more stood up to take their place. Armor moved forward, and began tearing wide swaths of death through their ranks, but for every hundred that went down, two hundred more appeared. It was as if the dead were coming back to life to fight. RPG's began taking their effect against the NH tank corps as machine after machine would get a hit, and start boilding off their ammo, killing everyone else in side. The air fight overhead was stunning as well as NH fighters swarmed to defewnd our fortifications from the Scythirian bombers, but for every bomber dropped into the sea, another got through. High command realized that the defense of Dar es Salaam was right here on the beach. Escorted by four sub hunters, the Battleship St. Michael manouvered into range, and began dropping an unbelievable barage of fire into the Scytherian positions on the beach. At one point, an explosion off the stern of the battleship indicated a submarine had gone up from NH defenses, but not before it had launched a torpedo toward the St. Michael. Gunners abord ship were firing into the sea trying to take it out, and one lucky hit exploded the underwater missile only yards from the midsection of the ship. Damage was considerable, but it did not take the ship out of commission. ______________________ Meanwhile, in the west, planes from our western defenses and the carrier in Lake Victoria began encountering enemy planes, and dogfights began to be fought over the jungle. Enemy positions were being identified, and crack infantry troops were being positioned for defensive purposes. The Great Rift, and dense vegitation limited Armor movement to the few roads that traversed the area, but what could be moved, was brought in. In the southwest, however, the plains opened up to veldt land, where batallions of tanks were moving into position to face any assult. |

The USOI fleet of 5 naval Battle Groups was ready for action. The five Israeli aircraft carriers were a floating airforce, consisting 500 aircraft, of which 300 were bombers armed with AGM-84 Harpoon and Exocet anti ship missiles as well as various bombs, and the rest were fighter jets whose task was mainly to protect the fleet against enemy bombers. The skies were filled with explosions and aircraft. "Nesher 1 to Nesher flight, be advised, 15 kilometers to target. Watch this anti aircraft fire. Nesher flight, arm your missiles. Lock on target. 10 kilometers." The five F-18s were flying in a scattered formation, trying to avoid getting shot by someone on the ground. The flight leader was making last preparations. A thought past through his mind, that they must have luck on their side today since they were constantly threatened by fire from the ground as well as enemy aircraft, though those are kept busy by the Israeli fighters. Then, on his three o'clock, an explosion. Nesher 3 was hit and it looked serious. The plane's pilot was panicked. "I'm hit, I'm hit! mayday, mayday! can't eject! can't eject! ahh!..." Then the powerful machine turned into a massive fireball. The other four F-18s were now at range from their target - they were going to bomb the Scythirian ships who were constantly sending more and more troops towards the Harumfian beach. "Tally Ho!" One by one the four planes sent their missiles towards their targets. Most of them were right on target, inflicting massive damage to the Scythirian ships, sinking a number of them. On their way back home one of the remaining four F-18s was hit by a missile and was severely damaged, forcing the pilot to eject. Meanwhile at sea the Israeli ships were bombing parts of the Harumfian beach which were taken by the Scythirians. The Scythirian ships were a deadly foe and the Israeli warships suffered major damages, taking some of them out of order. But when things got rough, the USOI forces pulled their secret card - and the Jerusalem-class sumbarines managed to even the odds and cause the Scythirian naval forces a real headache. |

the Kasnyian fleet that had been taking the brunt of attacks before the USoI's forces arrived to relieve them were now reaching the Cape of Good Hope as they sailed quickly for Ziyer. Meanwhile the two carrier groups in the Arabian Sea, the IKS Jaeger Group and the IKS Osterheim Group, were preparing to support a new operation about to commence in Western Kasnyia. In Western Kasnyia, a large force of some 5 divisions were readying themselves on the border. They were now waiting for Veloryan units to join them before they began Operation Purge. In Dodona, nothing had reached them yet, but it would only be a matter of time. The Kasnyian units their were now hunkered down and ready to fight...how ready would be determined soon enough. |

The North Flordia Navy joined the battle right after the USOI fleet joined in, The smaller ships sailed through their larger foes and launch topedos for only yards away. But this didn't come at a cost, several Flordian ships where hit or sunk. The larger battleships launched volley apon volley on the USOI ships, while the sub hunters search for their prey. The North Flordian legions land along with the Scythirians, tanks rolled on to the beaches, with fighters screaming above for cover. The North Flordian legions where small compared to the other armies, but the made up for that in discipline. The crack sniper units removed gunners, and turned any machine gun nest into a death trap. The infantry push up the beach, using tanks as cover from the machine guns, well the few that the snipers couldn't get. The North Flordian Tanks were crewed by good men, and began picking off the New Harumfien tanks |

Official announcements were made today in Flunes on the exact Divisions that are off to New Harumf. Army XI-200,000 Army XII-200,000 Army XIII-200,000 Army XIV-200,000 Army XV-200,000 Armour III-33 Light 33 Heavy For more details on the infantry, check the military thread, each army is split between skill levels... Limited Air Power, for the most part Flumes Troops will relie on the Zolon Air Force, this is not to say that Flumes air power is completely absent. IC: As Flumesian Troops marched east, carefull to avoid the Leopold Border, they wondered what would lie ahead. The average Flumesian Troop knew little about New Harumf, most knew it was a country with a population about 2.5 billion people bigger then Flumes, but also knew it wasn't quite as big as Flumes in size. The army of 1 million was confident, but not cocky. As they passed around the tip of Southern LCL they knew they were drawing closer to their target. |

The Veloryan units mustered in Bassein, and began to load onto HK-1 Transports to take them across the entire Indian Ocean to New Harumf. They would take the long way, flying to South Africa and then overland to the Harumfian coast, where they could land off Kilwa Kivinje. The 10,000 soldiers sallied forth with much fanfare, but a good many people in Legionary Command felt that a Military that was the biggest of any nation in the fighting could spare a few more men. Nevertheless, they wished their boys luck as they went off to the birthplace of the Pope. An HK-1 on display at an aerospace museum. Posted Image |

OOC: Are grannies gonna fly the planes? :D IC: The Scythirian forces were bolstered further with the arrival of the Floridian troops. While the Death Shock needed little help in achieving their objective to capture the beach, the skills and art of warfare being the only things they knew in life, the armor from Florida helped immensely to the detriment of New Harumf. Amphibious battleships began to land on the beach now, Scythirus beginning to unload its own armored vehicles. New Harumf was starting to lose more and more ground on the beach. Meanwhile in the sea, the Scythirian ships fought the Israeli and Harumfian with the viciousness of caged animals. No opportunity was too low for the Scythirian Navy to take. When a ship began to look like it was going down in a final tribute to the ocean, the crewmen did their best to coast the vessel right into the hull of an Israeli or Harumfian ship, more than likely taking it down with them. The entire collection of jets that Scythirus brought with it in this invasion was now up in the air, fighting fearcely to support their forces on the beach and on the sea. Scythirus' true nature as a warrior society was finally realized by its enemies, their cunning in war found to be quite shocking. Hostilities raged to optimum levels whenever Scythirus was involved in a conflict. Scythirians began to refer to this battle as the Sea of Blood. ---------------------------------- "General," Major Abu Sahgiit said as he saluted to his superior in his office. "We're getting reports that there are maneuvers of troops in Western Kasnyia. They could be planning an invasion through the tiny stretch of land no more than a couple miles long that we share a border with them on." "Troubling news indeed, Major," the general replied as he leaned back in his chair behind his desk. "We naturally need to replenish the mine field there and send several divisions of patrols. Kasnyia cannot be allowed to have its troops set foot on Scythirian soil." "Yes sir. I'll make the arrangements immediately." |
