The Zolon armor kept firing mortar rounds at small villages and cities across the west border of New Harumf. Zolon bombers made their way deeper into enemy territory, avoiding any AA guns that might be on the ground while droping bombs on whatever they could see. New Harumfian jets rushed towards the armor.

The fighters of the Zolon airforce broke formation. Bullets and missiles began flying above the tank, who continued to fire mortars at the border. The tanks were slowly moving out of the swamps, but were partially emerged in the swamp still.

OOC: Harumf, can I take this battle?

OOC: Um, we will retreat on the orders of General Poole, but will take extremely strong defensive positions along the great rift. Your army can take victory in the field, but will not be able to move forward. There will be no invasion of New Harumf from the west.

Alright. We'll hold you down and harrass you still, though.

IC: General Poole picks up his phone that immediately connects him to all commanders in the field. "Gentlemen. All offinsive action is to stop. I order all forces to assume defensive positions, and await the result of my negotiations with the Scythirian High Command. I do this under the authority of the new Military Government of the Free New Harumf. That is all."

The Death Shock crept their way toward the camp and noticed something peculiar... it didn't seem to be anticipating attack at all. The Death Shock commander silently signaled his troops, and they moved closer until they were in clear view. It was then that they were ultimately surprised by what greeted them.

Several Harumfian soldiers merely waved hands to the Death Shock troops in friendly greeting. The Death Shock were confused, and thus kept their weapons raised in extreme caution. Finally a colonel approached them with an armed escort.

"Greetings, Death Shock commandoes," the colonel said with a smile. "Walter is being held for you in General Poole's tent. Poole's been waiting for you. Come with me."

The Death Shock commander grinned. He remembered reports that there was a traitor amidst New Harumf's military. All worked out after all.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Emperor Hirak-Al Voramix stared at the signature. General Uri Ockfon Bulda. Zolony. He stroked his chin as he mused over this Zolon general's offer of his daughter as a suitress. And indeed the photographs of Dul'da Bulda were quite attractive and holding an air of sophistication and intelligence, all qualities that he admired. He desired to meet this woman.
Immediately he had his Imperial Jet readied to take him to Zolony to meet Dul'da Bulda in person. Then he had his brother-in-law, Lord Vizx Hikaal take command of the Scythirian government while he was away.
"Do not let the High Priest anywhere near the throne," he ordered Vizx. "I still don't completely trust him. He was too socially close to Jorzo Mafil."
"I will guard your throne with my life, Emperor," Vizx swore with a humble bow. "Even if it means killing the new High Priest himself."
"You're a noble man, Vizx... my sister couldn't be luckier," Hirak-Al responded with a grin. He then walked away between his armed escort. It was off to the Jihamed Airport now.
OOC: Well it'll be strange when Kasnyia realizes that the palace is not answering their calls. But Scythirus has made no official announcement yet. They want to make sure Walter's dead before declaring victory.
OOC; I will have to declare full war when it's announced. The murder of the senior line of the Catholic European Blood Royal can not be taken lightly.
Rumors were running amuck all over New Harumf. The Kasnyians were still trying to raise the Palace, with no luck. Their manpower in the city was far too limited to risk having anyone check the palace. However, the speculated like mad.
Some believed that the enemy were now jamming transmissions. Other thought that the family had gone further inland, secretly so as to not alert the enemy.
Still others had figured out something close to the truth. That they had been flanked and that something was dreadfully wrong.
OOC: Well, Scythirus, when are you going to kill off Walter??
IC: General Poole has left with a delegation, under flag of truce, to meet with the Scythiran high command, to discuss an end to this conflict. His purpose, of course, is to get the Scythirans to support his declaration of a military government in New Harumf. Also, to announce a completely non-secular reformation of the nation. He has already been assured the support of all generals in the field, and has begun ordering an orderly retreat.
"We must be careful," he said to his staff, "to not anger the Catholic allies, or else we will have to turn around and fight them. We must use delecate deplomacy to remove them from our soil, and not reveal our plan. With luck, we may be able to lure the young crown prince, Romulus, out of Catholic Europe, so we can complete the coup."
That said, he dispatched the following message to Genesis City:
"Holy Father:
The conflict with Scythirus will soon end. After the enemy has left our soil, we would like to bring the young Crown Prince back to his rightful place as the King of New Harumf. We trust you will allow the boy the honor of his coronation.
Yours in Christ,
General Marriam Poole"
OOC: Well I was expecting a more concrete response with the Death Shock arriving as guests, but okay.
IC:
The Death Shock were led into the tent which held Walter captive. He was tied to a chair and gagged. Upon seeing the Death Shock troops enter, he perspired madly, realizing his doom was imminent. The commander aimed his gun at Walter's head, using the red laser scope for a perfect shot between the eyes. He sneered at the moaning and whimpering Walter.
"Say your last prayers to your false god, scum," he said, finger stroking the trigger. A half minute later, a sharp bang filled the encampment. The deed had been done. Walter was dead.
The Death Shock radioed to rest rest of the Scythirian occupying forces and reported the mission a complete success. Shortly after, victory had been declared from the Scythirian government.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

General Rassi Rautha climbed out of his jeep and walked over the field to shake hands with the esteemed General Merriam Poole. This truce negotiation was already starting in friendly spirits, something rare from Scythirus' typically hostile attitude.

"We could not have done this without you, General Poole," Rassi said with a smile. "We are open to grant you anything you require, as you deserve the greatest reward in this conflict. I can already assume you want to be leader of New Harumf. You will have it, my friend, with all our support. Scythirus is always grateful to those who help her."

General Poole smiled broadly. He knew he would need international support, and no one could provide that better than Scythirus.

"We shall always be friends," said Poole. "My new government shall respect and honor Scythirus in song, dance and music for as long as time allows. General Rassi Rautha, allow you to present you with the Harumfan Medal of Honor, the highest military honor that can be bestowed on a non-citizen. You shall always be welcome in our land."

With that, General Poole withdrew to his command car, to lead his army back to the capital, and triumphantly take over the palace.

OOC- Poole better do some quick thinking, otherwise he'll be liable to get killed when the Army turns their guns around and fires wildly at the Scythirans....

When the news of Walkter's death reached them, the Zolon tank's crews let out a hurrah as they continued to destroy villages, puhsing farther into Harumf.

To: General Poole
From: His Holiness, Pope Pius XIV

What has happened, and is still happening, in New Harumf is the devils work. The carnage and bloodshed that has occured must stop immediately otherwise Catholic Europe and the Holy League will step in and stop it.

I also demand that my family, the Lord Protecter Walter my cousin and the Royal Family, of whom I share the same blood, be seen in public within 24 hours. I will not allow the return of the Crown Prince unless these demands are met.

Poole was not pleased by the Pope's reply. "Damn him!" he said, after reading the message. "How can I produce the royal family when they are all dead? Maybe I could hire actors! No, don't be rediculous," he thought.

"I'll just have to claim custodial control of New Harumf, and blame the killing on Scythirus, but I had best wait for them to get out of the country."

Meanwhile, he had a problem in the west. Zolony took to retreating, but Flumes still remained a thorn in his side.

"Order a full scale air assalt on the Flumes positions. Pull bombers and fighters from every other theater, and consintrate on a 24 hour attack with 70% of our air force. I want the remaining 30% to begin bombing Flumsian cities, all throughout their land. I want to force them to accept cease-fire terms."

Because of this peace treaty with Scythirus, Zolony will leave Harumf on condition that my wife who was captured is returned to me.

The news of the ceasefire hit the defenders of Morogoro like a mortar shell. It was basically an admission of defeat. How could a nation like Scythirus possibly humble a Catholic nation? Surely, the Scythiran war machine was more powerful than the Medean, but the Veloryan war machine was vastly superior to the enemy's. Why hadn't any more troops been sent? And why were they giving up now. All these questions were on the minds of the gaunt and grizzled Medean holdouts as they were forced to shake hands with the Scythiran occupation to signal the end of hostilities. These men had gone for days without food so that they could keep killing Scythirans, and now they were shaking hands? Everything was wrong about the moment. But the Medeans, and indeed the Veloryans, who were now on the doorstep of Dar Es Salaam, had one single consolation. At least the Royal Family was still alive...

A very worn woman was brought, by limo, to the border of New Harumf under a white flag. She was handed over to the Zolon troops who imediately recognised her as the Hu'fievren's wife. The soldiers noticed she was clutching a bible, probably the result of the Catholic efforts at indoctrination, but they let it be. She was rushed back to the Hu'fievren with all urgency.

When the Hu'fievren saw here he yelled out into the Heavens. The Queen of the Earth had been returned to him. The Greater Almighty had seen to this. He held her in his arms while yelling out "SARAH!"

When he let her go, she looked down at the ground. She was clutching a book in her arms, a book that the Hu'fievren did not recognize. "What is that book?" the God demanded, pointing to it.

"The Bible," the Queen said with a weary voice.

"How those Harumfians must have assaulted you with their false book," the Hu'fievren replied, taking the book and throwing it to the ground. "I am glad to see my noble Queen resisted."

Sarah nodded without looking up. "Burn that book," the Hu'fievren ordered one of his guards. The guard took it in hand and dropped a match on it. The pages quickly began burning. A tear appeared in the Queen's eye.

"What horrors that book must contain!" the Hu'fievren said. "Now come, my Queen. We will return to Zolony. You can see our son again and we can bed."

The Queen nodded and turned. "I am tired," she said quietely and looked out into the distant plains of New Harumf. The tanks of the Zolon army had turned around. But her soul could not.
