While Rudolphus was sipping his wine he began to think; "If this violence escalates I could use my leverage in the army to gain power for both the glory of Kasnyia and the Bouze family"

Although the Prince was becoming increasingly impatient for glory, he was intelligent enough to know not to incite a riot that could be traced back to him, instead he would wait for an excuse to flex his military muscle.

As he looked over at the telephone he knew he could contact an old and trustworthy friend in the Army to assist him in preparing his glorious plans for the future, with that he picked up the Telephone and dialed the number.

After the phone began to ring over and over, finally the Colonel answered the call; "Yes, Xantony al-Masud here" said the grumpy old man, "Hey it's me Rudolphus, how are you doing old friend" said the Prince. The old Colonel was stunned at hearing the familiar voice.

Xantony: Rudolphus? How the hell have you been?

Rudolphus: Good, good... How are them annoying little grand kids of yours?

Xantony sighed and replied "Still annoying, if I hadn't mastered self-control I would have killed them by now"

Rudolphus: Yeah I figured as much. Hey do me a favor, I need you to inspect the Military Garrison under my command, make sure everyone has food for two weeks, water for several days, and plenty of extra ammunition.

Xantony: Why, Is there something wrong?

Ruldolphus: No, not right now but I have a feeling there will be, just make sure they are ready.

Xantony: All right, I will get on it right away.

Rudolphus: Yeah thanks, I will be there tomorrow to personally inspect their gear.

Xantony: Very well old friend, until we talk again.

The two men hung up and Rudolphus finished his glass of wine before heading upstairs to his quarters, a servant stopped him at the stairs saying "Milord there is news," the Prince looked at the servant and in an annoyed tone replied "Not now! I have work", the Servant said once more "Milord the news is vital, you may find it interesting", the Prince sighed and replied "Very well then, what is it"

The servant began to explain that there we're rumors of Nobility spreading unrest, and discontent throughout Kasnyia, the Prince listened to all he had to say and replied to him "Of course there are rumors, but it is idle tavern talk, if you truly serve the Nobility you would discount such baseless gossip"; but the Prince already knew the truth, of course there were Nobles spreading unrest...

He worked his way to the quarters and stepped out on his balcony, below him lies the Capitol of Kasnyia, which would be his battlefield one day he thought to himself, once more the bitter angry but passionate grin came back to him -- the time for glory for Bouze was creeping closer and closer...

The King was worried. He knew nothing would happen so long as he remained alive.

However, he also knew that the moment he passed on the nation would break out into conflict...he had hoped the truce would carry momentum for a few more years.

Almost impossible now.

Aleksander cared not to see his Kingdom come to flames. And yet, he could not live forever. He could not trust any of his own family, even before he announced his conversion to Calvinism.

The one good news was that he had finally gotten into contact with the head of the Bouze clan. Prince Ottomar Von Bouze.

Perhaps now he could make a bargain.

Ottamer was not a stupid prince. Ottamer knew that the King was going to die soon. He knew this, and he knew that all of Kasnyia was going to go to Hell if he didn't hurry up with it. Suddenly, a phone rang. Ottamer picked it up.

"Hello?" he said carefully. "Who is it-this better be important or by God I'll-"

"I am your King, Ottamer. You should show more respect."

"I am sorry, m'Lord-forgive me."

"Fine. Now listen to me-I know my nations is going to Hell in a basket. I'm going to make you a deal. If you can stop the religious violence, when I die a Prince of Bouze shall be ruler of this land."

Ottamer gasped. This old man was really insane. "What?"

"You heard me, Ottamer. Get this situation under control and you get a Bouze monarch."

Ottamer hesitated. "I want this in writing," he said, taking control of the situation. "You write this down-you make this public-and I'll do what you wish."

"So be it." The King hung up. Ottamer made a mental note to have him killed as soon as the document was made public.

The King was not stupid. The Bouze clan were faaar to ambitious and power hungry to llow him the honor of living out his days. He also knew that his own sons liked the Orthodox domination of Kasnyia to yield at all.

If Prince Ottomar wanted the document in writing he would get it....as his new Will and Testament.

He made one demand however. In his will he wrote that if religious viloence could be kept to non-existance for a year after his death, the Bouze clan would be given the Crown for the Kingdom of Kasnyia.

He then signed it, and sealed it in his vault.

He then called Ottomar-

King Aleksander IV- You will have your public document. Just be sure to read it carefully.

Prince Ottomar- Of course, My King.

---------------------------------------------

The next day he called upon all the nobility to assemble in the Kasnyian Parliament...a joke of an instituition that had been formed so that the nobility could feel like they had some power. He would tell them about the rewritten will and testament. As foolhardy as it may have seemed to bring even more bad news to a group furious with him already, he did it anyway for he had been longing to make his nobles suffer as they made his subjects suffer. He hated their hubris, he hated their arrogance. He would make them pay.

As he read out his will and testament, he could hear the absolute anger in the Orthodox nobility and the jeers from the Genesian nobility. He was promising them the throne, effectively side-stepping his sons all together. As of that moment, his sons were powerless and useless politically....

Some nobles didn;t see it that way. One of those nobles was his brother, the estranged Baron Eduard.

Ottamer read the document carefully. He logged his computer into a secure network and contacted an underworld organization-the German Strongmen, the most dangerous group in Kasnyia. He sent a message to their leader, Adolf Himmler. He told him what he wanted: he wanted Orthodox to fear. He wanted them to fear so much that they wouldn't publically practice Orthodoxy.

The German Strongmen could do that. They had operatives all around Kasnyia: all ruthless Catholics. He forwarded Adolf one hundred million USD and waited. A few days later, reports of Orthodox conversion began to come in. Violence was dying down, a bit. Once it was gone the Germans would kill the King.

Stephan almost had a heart attack when his father read the decree. No. It was impossible. Not even the damn fool of an old man would sink that far. Had he not been so disoriented, Stephan would have killed his father outright then and there. As it were, he merely fainted. But his down time wasn't long. He went straight to Special Forces HQ when he came around. His father's trump card was played. Stephan had to go all in or bust. Once in his office, he immediately sent an email to every special forces soldier and Special Police Operative in the city.

The King has gone too far. He is no more his father than I am a Catholic now. We cannot let our Faith by disenfranchised any further. From here on out, we are at war against the Catholics and against the King. You were picked because of your strength, your bravery, and your Orthodox faith. And now Popery has invaded, and it will never leave of its own volition. It is time to show your people that their trust in you was well warranted. This is the time to stand up for ourselves. This is rebellion. This is the last act.

Report to the Plaza Scherzeberg tomorrow at dawn in full uniform and armed. We are marching on the capital. Godspeed.

Zachrias Xavier had been the only one who could see what and why the King was doing this. He pitied him. He was one of the few Orthodox whom he both liked and respected. The man had taken it upon himself, even in an unpopular atmosphere (and court) to reinstate the Bouze family back into a position of power after his father, Aleksander III had declared Catholocism a subhuman religion of demons.

And now he was being eaten alibe by both sects...by the Catholics because they wanted a scapegoat for all the violence, and the Orthodox because their religious monoploy on power was being shattered.

He could only wonder what Prince Boris would say.

Meanwhile he did what he could to keep his sons in line, but they knew he thought well of the King, and thus did not often discuss any of their plans regarding the ruler with him.

Even if the King ended up getting killed or died of natural causes, he would make sure he would hold the truce for as long as it took. Because he knew that once Boris ascended the throne, the tyranny would return tenfold...

...and then he would have no choice but to call for revolution.

Publically, Borris had taken the news better than would be expected.

He had his own schemes and devices for the throne - and he was not fool enough to suspect that his father was unaware of the contempt he was generating among the nobility.

The only thing that had changed in Boris was his hatred of Catholics. Where before it had been a thing of faith, it was now a thing of honour. It was one thing to hate a Catholic because of the Church, and quite another to have your birthright usurped.

Borris knew his brothers would not stand for this injustice. And he knew that, left to their own devices, no-doubt they would do their upmost to ensure the religious violence continued.

But now was not the time for personal crusades but a unified effort among the Ribbenzofph Princes. No longer could they afford the luxury of their own schemes and devices - they would need to work together to take back the throne that had been promised away to the Bouze.

And so Boris aranged for his servants to send word to Eduard, Stephan and Alois so they could meet in a secrete place and discuss their course of action...

Stephan arrived at the meeting place the night before the day of his march on the palace. It took hardly a glance to tell how nervous he was. He was quite obviously up to something, but none of the underlings dared question him about it. He shook Boris's hand weakly and waited for the other princes to arrive.

OOC: Sorry K, got tired of waiting.
IC:

"Thank you for coming brothers." Boris pauses, "My fellow Princes."

He uses the royal title as a sneer, venom filling his voice.

"I will not treat you as fools. You know what has led me to bring you here. And you know we must act to reclaim our birthright from the Bouze.

"And I expect you to not treat me as a fool. I want to know what you have already been scheming. I want to know your plans, the petty treasons you've no doubt already commited and if any of you have already found your way onto the payroll of the Bouze becoming a nice Ribbenzofph lapdog!

"Because we must plan together if we are to reclaim our rightful place. We must act as one to ensure we do not let the throne slip through our fingers. And I can assure you brothers, you will have far more wealth and power with me on the throne than you would being forced to bow and scrap to the Catholics."

Stephan decided it was in his best interests to come clean to his brother. He did not have the heir's position in any event, and may well be in a position to need his brothers' help, both of them.

"Actually, I was planning a coup." Stephan stated mildly and matter-of-factly. "The Special Forces are to capture the Palace tomorrow. I was planning on having the old man killed, and the Orthodoxy and Ribbenzopf family restored to this nation's throne." He looked askance at his brothers, gaging their reactions. "As far as I'm concerned, the old man isn't one of us any more. We need to eliminate him with the most extreme prejudice, or suffer a fate worse than death: oblivion."

Boris smiled,

"That has to be worth a military promotion just for the guts of coming forward with that. If we had any incentive at all to be loyal to the King... you would be in a lot of trouble. But foruntately, I owe no loyalty to that man any longer."

He pauses.

"You don't need me to organise a coup. You'll need Eduard any myself to legitimise it. Which I am more than willing to do, as you'd be putting me on the throne."

He smiles.

"Which means, either I'll win the nobles to our side, promote you and sit as a nice big fat target for all the Catholic desenters while you have a free hand to do as you please. Or I won't win the nobles to our side, and they'll turn to putting the next in line on the throne, so either way it seems we both win there.

"So tell me more about this coup. It seems to me that the brave men of your special forces should turn up to try to rescue the King from Catholics only to arrive too late. But, for old times sake I think we should give Aleksander one last chance to recant."

Boris looked at his brothers, here they were discussing treason as if it was some small and trival thing. A chore to be done before bedtime. The absurdity of it all made him smile even wider. Finish your vegtables or you don't get desert. Kill your father or you don't get the throne. No-one likes to do these sorts of things, but someone has to do it.

"Well, brother, I can't in good conscience decline to give my own father one last chance. But we simply cannot do it after the alternative becomes obvious." Stephan replied simply. "You know the old man as well as I do. He'll turn on us the second we let him. I say you go to the Palace this very night and offer him the opportunity to undo this whole debacle. If he declines, we shall move forward with the plan." Here Stephan inserted a dramatic pause.

"Tomorrow at noon, a "protest" will break out in front of the Palace. We will quite simply march on them, walk right past them, and enter the Palace in force. None of his Loyalist forces will no what hit them. Then, we need only to put 9mm of lead into the old man's skull, and declare you king." Stephan seemed to struggle a bit over conceding the point that he wouldn't get the kingship. "Just make sure that promotion you speak of is worthy, brother."

Sensing Stephan's feelings:

"It would be foolish of you to kill me. As it stands, we are bound to expect resistance from the Bouze by declaring the King's eldest son the new King. You would never be able to hold the throne."

Boris states flatly.

"But... you have the means to overthrow out father, and you have the means to kill me."

He spreads his hands, palms up in a matter-of-fact way.

"Even though having me killed would gain you nothing, it's something you could do. Unlike our father, this is not something that I will forget. And so unlike our father, I will see to it that you are richly rewarded - after all, a King needs to take care of his hier."

He smiles and turns Alois and Eduard.

"I will see to it that all of us get what we deserve. I think Fleet Admiral would suit you Alois, and should anything happen to myself and Stephan Kasnyia will look to you. And Baron Eduard has a ring to it that cannot be denied I'll need a suitable Prime Minister - King in all but name, all of the public speaking you love so much and a lot lower risk of assassination must appeal to you.

"Our father offers us nothing. Nothing but scorn, heresy and a denial of our birthright. If it was for the good of Kasnyia, then maybe I could understand that. But he wants to betray our nation and give in to the Catholics. He wants to turn traitor to his own flesh and blood and betray our country by refusing to do what needs to be done?

"This we cannot forgive. Tonight I will go to him, and I will talk with him. Tomorrow, we reclaim our rightful place and restore our nation."

The title of Grand Marshal of the Army was frankly quite enough for Stephan, who could not have even hoped to reach that far just last week. As the highest ranking man in the military, his power would be indisputable for all save Boris. And if Boris ever went the way of their father, Stephan would be even more able to make a regime change. Not that he considered it likely to be necessary. Boris had a pretty good head on his shoulders. Besides, his life was safer as a General anyways.

"I'm with you, brother. Now I suggest you get to the Palace and give the old man his last chance at life."

OOC: It's nearly 3 AM here in blighty, so I'm going to go to bed. Kasnyia can post the reactions of Alois and Eduard - and if he doesn't want this coup going ahead, he can have the king die of some other mysterious cause just before the coup is set to happen. He can also post up however much of the meeting between Boris and the King that he wants. He can also do whatever the hell he likes in his own thread - but as I said, it's 3 AM my time so I'm having trouble finding words which say things good.

Rudolphus had awaken to the noise of his guards shouting in the hallway, he shouted at the top of his lungs so annoyed he almost had a slight squeal "What the FU** do you think you are doing out there!? I am trying to rest for Jesus sake!"

The noise continued on, and the shouts in the halls became screams. Rudolphus buried his head under the pillows and blankets to no avail, he became so infuriated he flung the entire contents on the bed unto the floor and flipped himself on his feet in a fury, racing for the door.

He turned the heavy golden knob swung open the hard wooden entry to find his guards pinning one of the servants to the floor with a gun to the back of his head, his guards looked up at him only to find that he is squinting in the light and wearing only a pair of orange boxers.

"What the HELL is the meaning of this!?" he shouted; "I work my ass off for all of you and you have to insult me by beating my servants in front of my own quarters? Are you all mad!?"

The guards looked nervous but replied "We are sorry Sir, but we caught this scoundrel trying to steal from us ... I mean -- you"

Rudolphus sighed heavily shaking his head saying "Than deal with him like all other thieves, get him out of my sight, and yourselves as well! I have work to do!"

He turned around and walked back into the room, the guards notice on the back of his orange boxers two words and a symbol which reads "I Love Kasnyia."

They looked at each other with almost a bleak pale face before turning to escort the prisoner out of the building, meanwhile Rudolphus was getting dressed preparing to head over to the garrison as he promised.

OOC- Wow! I like!!

Hmm..the coup...well, I like the idea. I will PM one suggestion however.

IC-

Eduard was estatic. Soon, his brother would be King! A true King like his father had been in his early days, rather than the Catholic-loving wastral he as now. Of course, if Boris turned like him, he would make sure to hide it from the public.

He would make preparations. If his brother was going to move against the King, Eduard would have to make sure the Prime Minister was eliminated too, to destroy the possibility of a Loyalist faction from forming.

----------------

King Aleksander was struggling. He had woken up with a hacking cough that could only mean one thing: His illness was getting worse.

He had purposefully neglected to tell his wayward sons, knowing full well they would have moved against him before he could counter it. Luckily, he had lived long enough to do his duty. He now had the people's support. Unfortunately howev er he had alienated the upper class. Now however, his illness was becoming more aparent.

King Aleksander IV- Doesn't matter now...

He hacked again.

------------------

Alois did not show any emotion. He knew all of this was bound to happen eventually. He also knew that as commander of His Majesty's Fleets, he would be important in cutting off and isolating the Catholics from any support whatsoever.

He did not celebrate in glee. He was past that. For now wast he time of planning. He could already see the ramifications of their actions, and he wanted to be prepared...and to prepare his family.
