Yeah... I couldn't think of a way to start a storyline. I thought if I gave myself a dead line... well I work best under pressure.

The sunlight broke through the clouds unto the ruins of Zaragoza, still beset by massive infection. 28 years ago, a virus, released from a lab, somewhere, overtook the nation. Violence insued. Fear overran the population. Those infected turned back to their most primal instincts as rage overtook them, and they killed their fellow man. It was slow at first, only in the mountains, small villages. The government managed to quarantine it, keep it from the cities. But every barricade can be broken, every gate thrown down to the sheer might of human ferocity. They soon overran the blockades, feasting on the bodies of the soldiers as they passed through. Citizens used guns, fire, whatever was available to them to fight back. Zaragoza burned. A nuclear detonation outside Barcelona backfired. The coutnry side lay smoldering and uninhabitable. Isolated patches of uninfected survived for months at a time, but their doom too was inevitable. 99.99% of the population was wiped out in one massive stroke, leaving only the decaying structures of the cities, overriden by weeds, home, not to humans, but to birds, and animals. Slowly, the virus began to dissappear. It began to dissapate. The few who survived came back out, and 28 years later, it was a brave new world. Hispanic culture was never to be remade. No cure had ever been found. They lived in fear of each other, of the worst in themselves.

Democracy had finally failed. Julio Romero, a young man from Taragonna, took control of the country, now home to only a few hundrad thousand. Together, they needed to rebuild, to take their cities back from nature, back from decay. Piece by piece, they can relive their glorious past, journey back to that time when all was right. And for a while, it looked like it might be done. A small town had been reclaimed, and was home to the citizens. A strict quarantine enforced. No one permitted outside the limits. The virus still lived, in the rats, in the hounds. But, in the city of Zion, peace had been found. A calm ensued, and the new begginning occured. Alas, however, all good things must end.

One man's failure can mean a popualtion's doom. One lazy soldier could result in the breach of quarantine. But for now, things were fine. The calm before the storm, when things look like they just might turn out okay, that they all might just make it.

But then, this wouldn't be interesting, would it?

OOC: I can assume earth is "dead" also is it okay if I have a few alien races?
IC:

200 years ago the Menhadiens had disappeared, they left earth and her colonies and planned to go further than any other nation had dreamed to go, they left earth with ship upon ship filled with soldiers and women. No word or sign had returned that they still where around.

Two years ago, rumors flooded the streets and markets of planets. Large black ships, covered in guns and burn marks had been spotted. Tales of survivors feeling before the mighty armies that these ships held, but few had turned to see the banners, a golden ship on a blue field. It was true the Menhadiens had come back.

OOC: I can assume earth is "dead" also is it okay if I have a few alien races?

OOC: Well I personally won't object to adding in alien races but if you get harassed about it, ah well. As for assuming earth is dead, I wouldn't suggest it since most of our nations involved are earth located, although that doesn't mean we don't have colonies else where.

Oh and His, if this has anything related to the movie 28 days later, I'd like it stated now that I hated that craptastic movie and now hate it even more that it has it's own sequel.

IC:

The Langarri had watched the situation unfold 28 years ago, but because of their strict law of noninterference they did nothing to stop the devastation that unleashed itself onto the Hispanics though technologically and medically they could have prevented the massive loss of life that soon resulted.

Within the confines of their massive, national shield which kept them safe from the outside world, they lived humbly in the middle east going about normal life of scientific research and self-enlightenment. Over the hundreds of years of their development they had advance from nomadic tribes to a highly advanced civilization who among other achievement had already set out into the wilderness of space and colonized other planets, linking them to Earth through a sophisticated network of gate devices which allowed for instantaneous travel between them.

Now as their sky satellite came over head, sending live footage of the quarantine zones back to the ruling council they continued to watch the situation, always watching and yet never acting.

OOC: It's very far ahead in the future. More than likely several thousand years ahead, so great advances have been made.

And Earth isn't dead.

OOC: I will only have two races and they wont be more advanced than humans at this point, more at the medival level really but its like the covenant in halo, they fight for me. One is like if our ancestors had been sharks. They have large, powerful upper bodies and jaws and are very clever. The other is bear like, big and hairy and aggresive, but smart enough to talk and use tools. Oh yeah I guess I left earth then.
IC:

100 years ago.

Captain Spears, the ship commander of Alpha I and he had finally gotten good news. A probe came back with images of a large planet, four planets away from a small sun, with a good percentage of oxygen in the atmosphere and large green jungles. Alpha I had finally found a new home.

There was very little in the way of life on the planet, only small birds like animals and fishes. The site of the first city was called Edinburgh Prime and then more cities where founded. The mountains where rich in iron and other metals, the jungles had rich soil and so crops grew very quickly and very well, the huge ocean was filled with deuterium, fuel for the Menhadien fleet. The planet was a rainy planet, rainfall per month was nearly a foot. But life was good.

Soon more ships arrived and life thrived, but a life without enemies turned men soft and ships went out again, the other planets in the solar system where gas giants expect the 12th planet out. Troops landed on it to search for anything, and what they found was a truly remarkable find. Ancient ruins of once glorious alien cities, covered in gold and silver, but nothing lived on the frozen planet. Scientist carbon dated the remains they found of a dead alien, the one they found, thousands of years had passed since it lived. The Menhadiens hadn’t found a thing to fight.

The search continued for 20 years before they found life, several solar systems over was a planet with a few small oceans. The air was largely Nitrogen based with other compounds. From space one could see large mountains, deep trenches and large fields, like the ones found on the bottom of oceans. Troops rained down from the sky in drop ships, and when they landed there was a host waiting for them.

The aliens stood 8 feet tall and held large stone or metal shields, for the planet lacked trees, and wielded large swords of metal. They had grey skin with black eyes, they lacked hair and had small fin like fingers. There was maybe a thousand, but the Menhadiens poured off their ships with tanks, jets and men. Any one could see the awe in the alien’s faces as they watched Menhadien jets take off and circle above them. But they where a proud animal, and stood their ground never the less. Perhaps to scare them or a mistake, but a tank fired and soon a large hole was where the center of there line once was. And then they began to shuffle back, but then a commander on each side shouted an order.

Maybe that is was trigged the aliens to charge, but soon machine guns began to pour lead at them, the shield held for awhile, but the bullets chipped through the stone and tore bodies apart. Large enough groups made it to the Menhadien lines and caused terrible damage with large swords, but bullets ripped into their backs. All that stood of the alien host was a commander, with a sword in hand, but Menhadiens didn’t shoot instead a Lt walked forward and patted his sword down. The alien knew his army was defeated, and fell to his knees. It took another 20 years to learn the alien langue, and to conquer the planet from the proud animal.

They where quite intelligent, they farmed the rich, salty soil, and from them the Menhadien learned why they looked a lot like sharks on earth. The planet was once a giant ocean, filled with shark like animals. But a change in the solar system pushed them closer to the sun and soon the ocean dried up, and to survive the shark like animals had to adapt, and thus they had large jaws and large torsos with smaller legs.

The Great Whites, as the Menhadiens called them, agreed to join with the Menhadiens when the learned of all the different planets they had seen, for space to them was a large mystery. And thus the Great white where given guns and taught to fight like Menhadiens.

OOC: What the heck I'll run with it.

IC:

The Langarri had seen everything the brutal Menhadiens had done. Their probe, which was about the size of a beach ball an stood in orbit over the planet concealed by an advanced cloak of their own design, had watched as the Menhadiens had conquered what they had labeled species 2473. They had discovered the system three years before the Menhadiens did, and as scientists by nature they studied the shark-like being however never came in actual contact with them.

That was the Langarri way of course, non-interference. They refused to show themselves to species 2473 because they feared it would interrupt their natural evolution and thus they study the species using their advance cloaking technology. Ships, stations, and even personnel sent to the planet's surface were all well cloaked and concealed from the creatures as the Langarri studied their culture, society, and biological make up.

Langarri personnel had only been off the planet for a year when the Menhadiens found it, all they left behind was of course the cloaked probe which recorded live video from the surface and then transmitted it to the nearest Langarri ship which in this case was about twelve hundred light years away. The probe was also equipped with several smaller probes which were periodically launched down to the planets surface when a closer look at a situation was needed.

The Langarri were certainly outraged at the barbaric attitude of the Menhadien people. They couldn't believe that such a race could have ever existed on Earth and were truly sorry that their species hadn't evolved past the primortal need for destruction. Nevertheless though the Langarri had superior technology to that of the Menhadiens, they were severely out numbered especially in this part of the Galaxy. This toppled with their pacifist nature cause them never to act aggressively towards any species.

So for now all they would do is watch, watch as the Menhadien and species like them reek destruction and chaos throughout the Galaxy. For the moment their colonies within the systems throughout the sector near the planet of species 2473 were safe. City cloaking shields kept the settlements well hidden from orbital observation however ships in the area were another matter. From time to time they are none to cruise without the use of their cloaking shields and though their defense shields are impressive and weapons systems are highly advanced, they are still only scientific vessel.

OOC: I planned to be so far out that no one was there but oh well. Also you wanna fight?
IC:
The Menhadiens still continued outward, not knowing that they where being watched.

The Great whites traveled with them, they where armed with guns but still at their sides where the terrible swords that they wielded. And a gift to these new allies was a planet, covered in oceans that where rich with life, was for them as long as they continued with the Menhadiens in their conquest of the stars.

But they still hadn't found any more life, nor large alien empires to fight, and the idea was to return towards earth to fight old enemies but then on a small frozen planet there was a new form of life to be found.

28 years ago a virus had devastated Hispania.

The IDP, however, had been prepared - for this or any other infectious virus. Controls had been put in place. Methods were used. Sacrifices had been made. And within a year... all was as it once was.

For the most part, the IDP did not care to meddle in the affairs of other nations. It's citizens had their nation: a glorious nation with a rich history. Let others have the rest of Earth. Let others grope for their Empires in space. The citizens of Prime were, for the most part, content with their lot. And so the IDP did not offer aid to the people of Zion - what would the benefit be to them, why should they?

But the IDP did not exist in isolation. And while it's boarders, it's ecosystem, were one of the many free from the ravages and dangers of the outside world, the greatest quests and richest of rewards are rarely found in the safety of home.

An envoy was prepared. Citizen Obadiah Kaine had taken an interest in the virus that had destroyed Hispiana so long ago. He wished to study it in it's dissipated state and mark the effects of it's destruction. And for that he would have to venture far from the safety of the Indivisable Prime into the wastelands of Hispania.

And so, with a small contingent of driods, Obadiah Kaine procured himself an armed anti-grav transport vehicle large enough to accomodate himself, his research equipment and his mechanical party of bodyguards and assistants and set forth for Zion...

The city of Zion remained isolated. No aid was accepted, for fear of outsides. Decades of isolation can make a population xenophobic, as was the case now. The dusty city never opened its borders, and the city lived on. It was a testament to the power of quarantine. The thousands of settlers who had left the city now lay dead, their villages ruined, and the infected wandered the country-side, roaming together in murderous bands. It was not safe to open the city gates. Underground greenhouses provided the people with food. Solar power provided the city with electricity. But it was not a nice place to live. The city remained 30 years in the past. No new technology had been imported. It was a hidden city, a city which allowed no one near. No one came, and no one left. The dusty city stood silently in the center of a ruined country-side, and for now, would remain that way. The barricade gates lay shut, the iron on the doors rusting them together. Help would have to come from outside, but the xenophobic populace didn’t want help.

They would have to be persuaded. Romero knew it. Help would come, whether the Hispanic people wanted it or not.

The 20 meter long Yshurakan medical hovercraft arrived nearby the Hispanic border. The piloting crew stared out at the nearly desolate and ruined land beyond the gates of the torn nation. A broadcast was sent out to the Hispanic guardposts that declared the medical hovercraft's peaceful intentions. The vessel, once scanned, would be found to carry no weapons of any sort.

"This is the Yshurakan medical hovercraft Zirdirich. We have arrived to provide medical aid for the ailing sick that remain quarantined within Hispania's borders. We believe that the virus that has plagued your nation for so long can finally be cured by our medicines. Please respond."

The medical vessel waited outside the fringes of Hispania territory, hovering in a stationary position. Throughout the ship's interior, doctors and nurses milled about as they read up on the files of the Hispanic virus that had reached its peak 28 years ago. Scarce specimens of the disease had existed in the Yshurakan archives after the breakout, and they were convinced that Yshurak's medical knowledge could destroy all of it that remained in Hispania.

It was the least they could do for their European neighbor.

Far off in a Kiru Taoese mercantile station in the depths of space, a conversation between a pair of real estate dealers stirred up a crowd of listeners in a bar. Many have heard the rumors and so these two men discussing the topic seemed to confirm the truth of the matter.

"...and so the men searched my ship," related Hachimoto. "They didn't find anything of use aside from my planetary database and downloaded it from my computer. It was no mistaking by their manner, just as described in history books, that these were members of the Lost Menhadians. They let me go after that. I'll never forget the strange creature that was with them... looked like a shark or something."

"Shark?" asked Zikitu quizzically.

"You know... the extinct predators of the sea back on Earth," replied Hatchimoto. "Long, bulky bodies... large teeth. Hit one in the noise, fables say, and they'd back away. Their fins used to be a delicacy in the Kiru Tao Mercantile Organization's Earthen homeland."

"Oh... oh right... those things," Zikitu said with remembrance of his educational years in environment classes. "But this story resembles a lot of others I'm hearing. These men board merchant vessels carrying wares of all sorts; spices, herbs, food crops, rare alloys, chemicals... the list goes on and they take it all. It's hurting the economy, it is...." He glanced around for a moment. "And it seems we've accumulated quite a crowd of listeners too."

The government that governs least governs best
-Thomas Jefferson, pre-Libertarianate politician, one of the founders of the United States of America.

The idea of the Libertarianate can be traced back to a nation on the planet of Earth, in the landmass of Europe, in the historical region of the Netherlands. There, in a city known as Esternarx, that has since been lost to history, a group of people from the area known as Russia founded a New Republic based on the ideals of limited government, the free market, and individual rights. This was the first time a nation based around libertarian ideals rose to prominence, but it would not be the last.

A year or so later, the continent of North America of Earth faced a major shakeup in its nationstates. The northernmost state, Canada, fell into chaos, as the region known as Quebec declared its independence, under the leadership of Allen Kownnen, who would later become Dictator of Durick Veta, a name he gave to the new country.

The Libertarianate had been born.

Throughout the next five hundred years, Durick Veta existed as a semi-stable nationstate embodying the ideals of libertarianism. It spanned about half of Canada and at various times part of Greenland. The Esternarxians, now located in the continent of Australia, meanwhile slipped further and further into the idea of NO government, aka anarchy. Durick Veta continued to reject these ideas which would allow oppression to fester.

On the five hundredth anniversary of Durick Veta, President Simon Galtier of Durick Veta declared the abolishment of the nation of Durick Veta and the institution of the Libertarianate, a nation that would surpass borders. All nationals of the Libertarianate, hereafter called Libertarians, would be under the protection of the government of the Libertariannate. The Liberterianate began establishing bases throughout the stars, and now exists as a community of traders. The Terran territories of Durick Veta still exist as a direct realm of the government, and the 450 billion Libertarians of the known universe, including people from various planets, constitute some of the richest peoples in the galaxy

Chirondom had seen better days.

Once, years before, she had been a major player in the Asian continent of the planet of Earth. And then, once FTL travel had been discovered, she had been a mighty Empire across the stars. The Emperor of Chirondom (or, New Britain, as many insisted on calling it) had held quite a prestigious title.

Had was the operative word. Insurrection after insurrection, independence movement after independence movement, interstellar Gandhi after interstellar Ghandi had caused the great New British Empire to slowly crumble. The cursed subject races were not content to live under the benevolent rule of the Emperor, and worse yet, many of them had succumbed to the evil that was the Libertarianate!

The rebellions had been an annoyance, yes, but they had not seemed truly dangerous to the New British Empire, until the deadly disease of “freedom” had reached the homeland. The Indonesian islands, long the most rebellious territory of Chirondom on Earth, were the first to secede. Soon came the former jewel of the New British Empire, Vanuatu, and then finally the West Chirondom territories. All that was left of the Empire was a bit of what had been Mainland Chirondom, a few cities in Australia, and various outposts throughout the solar system.

The New British Empire had died soon later, when Emperor Reemus XXXVI declared the dissolution of the Empire and the institution of the Kingdom. Even this had not lasted: Chirondom had become a loose federation of poor states centered on New London. It was disgusting.

In New London, poverty was a fact of life. The government hardly existed. There was chaos in the streets. In a basement downtown, three men were holding a meeting. One, whose name was Jeremiah, could trace his ancestry back to the first Sanctus Emperor. The other two men present were named Michael and David.

“You know why we’re here today,” Jeremiah said as he offered his two guests a drink. Michael accepted his offer while David turned him down. Both of the guests nodded. “You know how inefficient our dictators we call a Parliament are. You know how low the New British Empire has come. You know how far those blasted Aiders-“ Jeremiah paused for effect as his racial epithet for non-humans set in-“and the Indies have brought us.”

They all nodded again. “Let’s skip this monologue, Jerry,” David said. “We know why we’re here. We’re here to kill that bastard Prime Minister and re-institute the monarchy, and we’re here to crown you today Emperor of the New British Empire. Enough with it, Jeremiah I, or whatever the hell you want to be called. Let’s plan.”

OOC: All the stuff about aliens is in the past but about the Menhadiens coming back that is now(rp wise)
IC:

A cold, ice covered planet. Brutal, wind swept, mountains and snow covered valleys. If anything lived it had to be tough.

Thermal suits covered the men head-to-toe, even the great-whites had there own suits, but the cold was numbing still. They landed in the largest valley on the planet.

Problems began before they landed. Jets couldn't fly, ice would coat the wings and jets would tumble to the ground. The snow would soften the fall but then the real problems started

OOC: Heck, I think I just might have enough time to get involved in this!

IC: Velorya wasn't real. It was a place on the map, sure; perhaps the name graced the official intelligence reports of some great Empire still existent, that could not be denied. But Velorya did not exist, it was not a nation or an Empire. Velorya as it had been had been destroyed years ago, centuries ago, before humans had conquered the known reaches of space with faster-than-light travel. Civil War was the culprit, as it often was. But this was no ordinary Civil War. No one really remembered what the fight was about, but several distinct factions had emerged. The Army of the Knights of Christ (AKC), the Sons of Velorya (SOV), and the Holy Veloryan Legion (HVL). All these factions fought across what had been Velorya, and also in unincorporated parts of China, the East Indies, and India.

Velorya was a backward place. Centuries of war had turned the countryside into a wasteland. The factions controlled most of the food supply, having heavily fortified island bases with many-tiered computerized hydroponic farms. Therefore, membership in one faction or another was necessary for the survival of the scattered but sprawling urban centers, as well as the small rural settlements. The cities were all to ready to switch sides to avoid destruction, and so the factions set up their bases in remote places or on islands, away from the people. These huge enclaves were virtually impenetrable, and were completely separate from the common man. This aura of mystique surrounded all the factions, and it was not uncommon for one side to suspect the other oh harbouring advanced new technology, which they went to great lengths to obtain, often futilely.

The only real profession for men was fighting the factions' fight, and women were around only to provide a new generation of soldiers and childbearers. Soldiering seemed to be programmed into Veloryan DNA by natural selection, and they were among the fiercest and most ruthless warriors in the known galaxy. Since life had no value in Velorya, they fought with wild abandon and absolutely no concern for their own safety. The semi-suicidal Veloryans were basically sheep, who took orders to the letter no matter what they were. All this had become their society, in lieu of a real one. Religion still existed, in a primitive form of Genesianism, but it was no longer a real concern. You went to heaven when you died for the cause, end of issue.

All these factors made the Veloryans barbarians in every sense of the word. From a paragon of civilization to a backwards and pointlessly warlike tribe, they had fallen far. The whites and the natives were hard to tell apart now, race had no place in determining parenting anymore, only physical ability and warrior genes. The class struggles and religious conflicts were over and forgotten, with the new, over-arching conflict engrossing the minds of everyone. The only commerce in Velorya was the mining of uranium and cold-fusion fuels from the wastelands, which were traded to more advanced nations for weapons, which were used up quickly. Being no state of Velorya, there was no government.

There didn't appear to be any hope in Velorya made by its own people. They would have to be readjusted into civilization by force, if at all. The factions had to die, and the people had to reconcile their petty differences. However, although Velorya was anarchic and decentralized, it was not an easy place to launch a campaign in. The massive and vicious factions had hundreds of millions of warriors just waiting to die on command. Velorya, then, was an easily exploitable but impossible to assimilate hinterland, a good dependency for an Empire. Their place in the unfolding galactic drama was yet to be established...

OOC: Basically, I've outlined what Velorya is like. Feel free to trade weapons for fuels and superior-quality mercenaries. It doesn't really matter what faction you contact, there is no clear front-runner. Also, you can try to capture or civilize Velorya, and we can talk about possible success. These guys use lazer weapons and such, they're not savages but they are barbarians. Let's do it! B)

In the Amish Children's nation, farmers plow the fields in spring, plows still pulled by the hearty cross-bred horse/moose clone (Developed outside of the Amish Children's land. They found a herd of the hybreds, and just continued the breeding process). The major crops grown are:

Karne (an unusual grain discovered over 80 years ago - grows wheat-like, but with larger grains. When dried, it can be ground to a high protein, high glutin flour)

Sarrous (used for feed. The entire plant is nutritious, and contains growth hormones, causing rapid growth in livestock)

Hemp (the name the Amish give to a hybred canabis. It produces long fibers perfect for weaving clothing - almost all Amish clothes are now make from hemp)

Briss (this vegatable has a double use - the greens are spinach-like, and are a staple of the Amish table, while the plant grows a tubor similar to a potato, yet fiberous. It is grated before cooking. The tubor are long and slender, resembling an uncircumsized penis, thus the tongue-in-cheek name)

Mannah (A small, clustered berry grows prolifically on this very low growing perennial shrub. The leaves are poisonous, but the berries have a very high sugar content when matured, and the plant produces fruit twice a year)

The livestock raised consists almost exclusively of: a fowl nick-named a dodo - it might be decended from the chicken, but has lost its wings completely. They lay eggs every day, and can be eaten for meat, though rarely; goats - standing seven feet high at the shoulders when mature, these animals are used exclusively for milking, for cheese and milk; swine - no one knows how big these animals would get, but because of the hormones in the sarrous, the babies grow to 120 pounds in 8 weeks, and are slaughtered as the major source of meat. The meat is very lean and tender, and is cooked fresh, or smoked into hams, bacon or sausage. The bones are usually ground into a fertilizer.

OOC: To be continued

If the pilot survived the first thing he would notice, besides the bone chilling cold, was a deep growl, like a voice in the wind, then the ground would tremble before the onslaught of a gaint beast, one so terrible and large that it only belonged in the darkest nightmares that any could imagine.

A great eye, lidless, would peer from the snow before a large, beastly worm(Dune any one?) would travel along a surface of the snow, which was miles deep, and its large mouth would open to devorer its target.

Pilot first class Andrew McLawson saw his death coming, but he jumped back into his jet and trained his gun sights onto the worms mouth. The guns fired and cannons poured their rounds in the beast mouth.

Menhadiens still fired bullets, maybe it was because they had more stopping force than a lazer, or they where cheaper. But they large steel bullets had a terrible effect on their targets.

The worm stopped, its brains frozen to the snow. Its large mouth was gaped open and its fin like teeth still threating. But before he could radio his distress, there was a large thud, as the mouth closed, then a cheer. Andrew looked up at the hills, and through the snow there stood large, furry, animals wielding spears tipped with diamonds.

Down came an older one, their skin was black, its fur was white, and it had narrow slits for eyes. It was large, maybe six or seven feet tall. But Andrew could tell this one was older by its walk, and the way it held its spear. It came up to him growling and making low clicks and purrs. But all Andrew could do was extend his hand, but the animal simple push his hand down and walked pass him towards the worm. It held up his long glaive and stabbed the worm in the eye, it was dead. It then turned towards the rest of its kind, who had come closer and held up a large chunk of the worms eye. The group cheered. Then the eldar held his spear towards Andrew and seemed to offer him the chunk of the eye, Andrew simple grapped it.

They took him to a wind free cave, and there the sat down, Andrew went along, they began to eat the worm bits they had cut off, Andrew simple took off his helmet and stared at the frozen eye he held. It had been awhile since he had eaten, and as he bit into the chunk, it reminded him of ice cream.

When the animals he was with went ot sleep, Andrew was still awake, and remembered to radio his commander, who he was sure was pissed at the losse of so many jets. The night was still, cloudless, windless, Andrew could see the long frozen body of the worm, but it was piled in snow. A hover tank pulled up and took Andrew away. But when the animals woke up there A different Menhadien stood there and with a great white said hello.

They perked up a bit when the great whites spoke to them, but the barrier of language still stood between them. It only took two years to crack their code, and still more was to learn. Their myths where very similar to the Great Whites, their language was also similar. But their form was entirely different, and they saw the Menhadiens as gods and readly joined them when offered.

A Benedictine-class battleship slowly pushed its way over Veloryan airspace. It was on a mission from the Christ Mount to find the faithful Knights of Christ so that the Lord's followers may prosper in this part of the world once more. It was an intimidating sight, a kilometer long and armed with weapons that could firestorm entire continents. The weapons would be useless for this mission, however.

The El Dejarboan vessel surveyed the countryside for lifesigns with its system scanners. Eventually they discovered what appeared to be a large camp site in the wild overgrowth that had consumed Velorya'sa once proad cities of old. Primitive energy weapons were detected, nothing that would concern the Benedictine-class, and a communications panel in what appeared to be a tent.

Quickly a message was broadcasted to the campers: "This is His Most Holy Ship Salvation, El Dejarboan Benedictine-class. Identify yourselves and we may bring salvation upon your struggling tribe."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Are you sure this is such a good idea, Provost Rajaratan?" Szikniel asked as he followed in his leader's path. "I mean... he comes from a very dangerous period of Scythirian history. There were actually PETITIONS against bringing him back in our Axolotl tanks. He is..."
"HISTORY!" shouted the Provost with pride as he stopped in front of a door. "He is history. History we can learn more from. Although he was a violent man from a dark period of our nation's history, he is still necessary input for our historical databases. Once we're through with him, we'll have him terminated as usual. Do not worry.
"I'm far more concerned by the implications of outside nations discovering about our ghola program than what could possibly result in farfetched ideas about bringing this man back to life. We have him in custody, you know. He can't do anything to threaten us."
"Still... he bit off the nose of one of the men in charge of restoring his memories," protested Szikniel. "The man in that room is psychotic."
"So? Now we can learn why!" The Provost waved his hand in front of the lock panel and the door slid open. Within the room it was dark, and someone could be heard struggling against metal bindings. The Provost bravely stepped in, Szikniel reluctantly following. "Greetings... I am the elected leader of the Scythirian Technocracy. Long ago your line died out and perished and for many centuries we have enjoyed a republic."
A manic grin formed over the lips of the man inside the cell. "I know. I remember the education classes of my new life just as well as remember the years that I lived before. I find what you have done with my country pathetic. Scientists? Power for the people? Ridiculous. Scythirus has forgotten its proud warrior history."
"Please now, sir..." the Provost coolly replied. "Surely you can see that the people are happier now compared to when you ruled. Now we request some input from you for our historical database. For many millennia, people have theorized at what made you tick. What worked in the mind of such a controversial emperor?"
The man chained in the cell laughed. "You'll get nothing from me.... NOTHING!! I will instead see your corpses hanging from the walls, the skin flayed from your muscle, your intestines..."
"Please, you don't have anymore power. We'll try this again tomorrow." The Provost turned and left, Szikniel trailing behind. The cell door closed behind them.
Somewhere within the Feldspar System...
Posted Image
The Langarri science vessel Relativity was gliding through the Feldspar system. Though officially it was on a survey mission to the system to study radioactive emission from the sun of the system, the actual reasoning for being so far out in the galaxy was completely different.
The ship’s crew consisted of two scientists, one Cornelius and Alabaster, two highly successful 23 year olds who were masters in the fields of astrophysics and quantomphysics. With them were 10 studies of theirs from the academy on Pandora, a colonized planet of the Langarri as well as several androids all of whom operated on a very basic AI.
Cornelius, who was at the helm of the ship, was preparing to make a hyperspace jump to the Kiru Taoese station. Alabaster was sitting close to him as the two continued with a length debt that had recently irrupted between them.
“You know I still don’t understand why we have to go to the Kiru Taoese station for a replacement thermodynamic power regulator” said Alabaster very annoyed at the situation they were in. “You know they still deal in money, which we will have to replicate if we hope to get the part. You know if we doing anything else, it would be far easier to just go back to Pandora where we could use their Astria Porta to get back to Earth where I know we could easily get the part without trouble.”
“That may be so but we both know why we can’t go to Pandora,” said Cornelius. “If the Governing Council were to find out that we were experimenting in time travel we would find ourselves in the same fate as Thoreau, who might I remind you did his own experiments only to find his research and equipment confiscated and sent to plant X-3564 where the Council sends all research and technology they deem ‘undesirable.’ By vote.”
“Yeah well at least in his case, he did prove that it was possible. Though I guess traveling 10 minutes into the future only to be met with security forces isn’t much of a “great leap” for Langarri kind” said Alabaster as he began to chuckle. “Of course our device is a bit more advanced then his, since after all his took the power of a fully matured star to operate. You know Cornelius I still don’t know how I let you drag me out here in the first place”
“Oh come now Alabaster” said Cornelius “ you can’t sit there and tell me that time travel research isn’t a worth wild pursuit. Just think of the good we could do if we are able to systematically correct the past to yield the best possible future”
“Yeah and what if we mess up and we yield the worst possible future, say a future where the Eastern Empire still exists. Think of it, in it’s day the Eastern Empire was one of the most powerful military powers in Asia. It wasn’t until the Conn Dynasty lost the ability to reprocreate due to inbreeding that the Empire declined into civil war. Even then the civl war lasted for over 500 years until they finally detonated a bomb which not only wipe out their entire civilization but also wiped the entire Korean peninsula off the face of the Earth. What do we do then?”
“We’ll simply have to make sure our calculations on the matter are correct,” said Cornelius a bit irritated with his friend’s pessimism. “Right now however, we’ve got a bigger problem and that’s replacing our power regulator on the device. Now if you don’t mind I’ve finished the calculations and we can now make the jump.”
With that the Relativity left the Feldspar system in a flash of bright light, only to reappear thousands of light years away in a similar flash of light, near the Merchant station. Though isolationist by nature, not all Langarri followed the rules to the letter and thus Langarri weren’t completely unknown throughout the Galaxy. Kiru Tao, being reasonable and kind in nature was a favored culture to the Langarri and when contact had to be made they would regular choose them.
Once getting clearance to dock with the station, Cornelius and Alabaster went aboard to look for their spare part only to have Alabaster side tracked with the station’s bar. Though alcohol hadn’t been banned from Langarra, it had left mainstram society as a whole. However, there were a few left who considered themselves hobbyists of the substance and Alabaster was just that.
After sitting at the bar and ordering their most exotic drink he slowly drank it, enjoying every drop. Cornelius on the other hand overheard the conversation about the Menhadians and became concerned. He couldn’t risk his ship being parated.
“Excuse me gentlemen” Cornelius said “You wouldn’t have happen to see where they were headed would you??
..................................................................................
Though Neo-Macedonia was lost since gone, The Holy Catholic Commonwealth, was still very much alive. It had survived the many years after the fall of the Genesian church and though it’s leader’s had changed titles from “Holy Reverened Mother” to “Popess” it’s teachings had remained untouched. The Church of Mary or Marinite Church as it grew to be called was now one of the largest Catholic Church still existing on Earth. It’s clergy was the perfect mix of both sexes as well as many ethnic groups. The Commonwealth itself was a beautiful Supernation that consitsted of several “old world” nationstates which had so many years ago willingly joined the Commonwealth to become provinces of the greater whole.
Its holy city was still Acropolis, at the bottom of the world. Its technology had certainly changed but since the church teaches that man is only to inherit the Earth from God, their ships only have the ability to reach high orbit over the Earth and nothing more. Along with great advancements in the medical field, the Marinites were certainly an Earth superpower.
Tonight however was an interesting night as the current reigning Popess, Alexandria XVII sat with several Cardinal’s including her most trusted Cardinal Victoria on the Hispanic situation.
“We must do something to help the Hispanic people” said the Popess. “For centuries their people were loyal Catholics and they must return to this path again. With their communion to the church, we will have a foothold back into Europe.”
“It can certainly be done your Holiness” said Cardinal Victoria. “Our personnel shield would protect our people from the disease and our medical technology could help heal the dying and protect the not yet infected.”
“The I will send three ships at once” said the Popess “They will help eradicate the plague and help in the conversion.”
“An if they resist converting your grace?” asked another Cardinal
“Let us hope that Satan has not tainted them yet however if they cannot be converted then they will have to face the Hand of God.”
“Let us hope then your Holiness, that they wish to return to the good graces of God and his Holy Queen Mary.”
Several hours later three medical ships, all with large red crosses on their hulls lifted off from the capital city. On them were hundreds of medical works, priests and Holy Knights. Though the Knights were there to help with the spreading of vaccinations, they were also instructed to help in the conversion process by any means they felt necessary. Should heretics be found in the area, they would also serve as the protectors of the flock. Heading the entire operation was Cardinal Allison, chosen because of her strict determination to have people follow to words of the Marinite church.
OOC: Alrighty, just to sum up I have two alien races fighting for me and I'm coming back towards earth.
IC:
Menhadiens never loved merchants, thinking them untrust worthy people, but still they would let them go. The majority where Kiru Taoese, and Menhadien never fought them nor did they ever fear them.
But after talking to a few and asking them about the world today, they would name countless empire but one would stick out. Scythirus, and the images from Menhadien history classes would show death shock troopers, climbing over their own dead never stopping. Those cold emotionless faces and hollow eye was the form of death its self, coming to collect souls at any cost. Any old friend and enemy.
Perhaps they could talk again...
Hatchimoto turned to face the man who had spoken up and furrowed his brow. "Well, now that you mention it... I find that part a bit concerning." The merchant stood up to face the room to elaborate further on his story since the whole bar had been listening anyway. "Their ship took a general course that implied an approach toward Sol. There is a good margin of error in my estimate, as they may have changed course for whatever reason or went somewhere that's in the same direction as Earth.... Still... that part worries me."
He leaned back against his table and reached for his drink, taking a large gulp of the beverage. "I suggest everyone to be cautious out there. They let merchants go, but I have yet to hear tales of what might happen to armed vessels."
Some murmering filled the room after this. Much of this was taken as ill omen for the Terran territories of space.
